Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. RESEARCH: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/... http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content... https://www.hindawi.com/journals/ecam... https://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/int... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti... Dr. Berg explains what weed will kill cancer. The dandelion weed. These backyard weeds are very healthy (can also be gotten at the health food store). They are edible, but bitter. If you mix it with salad or drink it as a tea, it will be easier to consume. The phytonutrients in dandelion weeds can help for certain types of leukemia, breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate and liver cancer. The phytonutrients go far beyond the vitamins and minerals it gives. For example, it increases liver function, kidney function, bile production and is a very powerful diuretic. It can be used in conjunction with chemotherapy to help slow down cancer and in easing the damage from the treatment. Hi @Dr Eric you have any resources/info on dosages for someone with cancer... i want to start giving this to a family member who has been diagnosed with leukemia. Thanks in advance Eric.

Can we just grind them up and take them in powdered form?
Stan Davison (3 months ago)
If you use the new growth small leaves, they are not bitter and are easier to chew and swallow. You can pull them off a larger plant and they will regrow within a week or so. Continual source of healthy decent tasting greens. Called this poke salad when I was a child.
Christian Wagenseil (5 months ago)
just juice the leaves

Dr. Berg since you have started something going here with the good results of the keto diet, how about speaking out on the many benefits of cannabis? It's time that this "Reefer Madness" mentality be put to rest once and for all, only bad thing one might experience with cannabis is the munchies, but as long as they continue to eat the keto foods that shouldn't be a problem.

Since broccoli and kale cause me to bloat..is it ok to just consume a mixture of romaine and dandelion leaves as my salad only..sometimes some spinach?

Potency difference between tea from Dried leaves vs fresh salad?

Thanks! Trying this soon for my prostate cancer. Just being on Ketogenic diet will reduce sugar which you mentioned in this context in another video here. BTW, -19 lbs. now since mid June. Thank you so much! Would CBD or THC cannabis help, do you think?

In Greece, we eat a lot of dandelion salads. We boil the dandelion for few minutes, 2-3 minutes no more, we strain them and then we add olive oil and fresh lemon juice and sea salt. It is a very common salad of ours and we prefer to serve it with fish. We also make tea infusion with the dandelion. We can find the dandelion in the market, but it is better to pick them ourselves from a clean garden or field or better a mountain and better before they blossom. It is a little bitter, but we like it.

*I've been drinking Organic Roasted Dandelion Root Tea for a year* ♥ It's been great and now is a staple in my cupboard; as a diuretic, tummy troubles, and when my gallbladder was acting up! I add some honey and it's a very pleasant taste (Traditional Medicinal brand - in grocery stores). Thanks Dr Berg!

Health food store has them? Ive only ever seen them at Asian supermarkets. My concern is the Asian supermarkets are not ORGANIC!! HELP!!!
Michelle Wei (1 year ago)
Eric Berg ...Maybe in your area or California but not in New Jersey. We have a Wegmans and Whole Foods but I'm concerned about it if it's not organic. The local health food store has a juice bar and a lot of supplements but no fresh vegetables.

They are usually at healthfood stores

When I was a kid I remember my grandma picking dandelion weeds from our backyard to eat, I thought she was nuts for wanting to eat 'em but only because they are so bitter. Old school Grandmas always know what's up!

Dr Berg...I take Dandelion Root 560mg 3 times a day. Is this from the same plant your talking about?
afringedweller (1 year ago)
I don't think Dr. Berg answers comments on You Tube.  He's probably too busy.  But anyway, no, the part of the plant he's talking about is the leaves.  He said they're full of phytonutrients.  He said he eats them in salads.  A lot of people eat them cooked, as well.
Simple Full (1 year ago)
They come up in my garden next to my lettuce so I pick them and add them to my 7 cups of salad per day! ☺️

We harvest dandelion in spring before it blooms. No bitterness or chewiness, just an awesome, awesome salad! Make it with a cooked potato or some avocado and beans and you get the world's best salad!

How much do you have to consume daily for it to positively impact your health? If someone had cancer, etc.
Josh Andreapolous (1 year ago)
Hey I know of a backyard weed that kills cancer it's called nettle, if you apply it to your face and rub it around your body it really helps, you can also make into a tea and gargle it in the throat.

Please call it cannabis. The term "marijuana" carries the negative connotation bestowed upon it by the racist, money-hungry government officials during their smear campaign in the '30s.

Talk about medical marijuana Dr Berg.
Terri Garrison (1 year ago)
Does dandelion root tea interact with any medications?
saleemdepoosingh (1 year ago)
LoL @ ' Nah, I'm not talking about marijuana.'
gwynedd1 (1 year ago)
Dig up the roots( rinse them of course) and roast them at 250 for two hours. Then grind them and brew them as you would coffee. The flowers are also quite edible and are not bitter. They can be uses as tea or used to make fritters etc.

They are not weeds they are wild flowers . The pharmaceutical companies started calling them this to make us move away from using them and then they made poison weed killers . Our ancestors used these for medicine

Interesting stuff :-) I also make salads with Dandelion Greens... Yummy! For Diabetics they work miracles. Then I make Dandelion Juice from the Roots... Even more powerful than the greens. I love 'em. There are hundreds of - so called - Weeds that are edible, like "Purslane" and "Plantaine". All super rich foods :-) Great little video :-)

Dandelion greens taste amazing if prepared right, as a side dish. My ex, his grandma born in Italy, she taught him how to prepare them, so good! Organic Dandelion Tea, I try to drink at least one cup a day. It's a clean tea, cleansing, energizing.

I've been thinking about growing dandelions in the garden. Be careful picking them in the wild as you never know what's been sprayed on them.
gwynedd1 (1 year ago)
If there are a lot of weeds , nothing was sprayed on them. If you eat commercial crops something definitely was sprayed on them.

I ate dandelion as the "bitter herb" component of the Passover meal this last spring. Actually, I added it to tabouli, which is mostly parsley.
cmiller8492 (1 year ago)
Lol. Maybe Bradbury had something to dandelion wine other than great literary work.
Andrea Valentina (1 year ago)
Try it steamed served with a vinaigrette as your first meal of the day. This will get your bile going... so much more bitter.

I come from a lebanese background. We make this regularly into a salad. Lots of garlic and lemon bit of olive oil and salt and scoop it up into pita bread 👍
Gloria Wagener (1 year ago)
The young leaves in early spring are not as bitter and soaking them in some light vinegar solution can remove some of the bitterness. The early spring white root tastes similar to coconut and your saliva will neutralize the bitterness as you chew on it. Earliest spring is the best time to harvest anything dandelion. Cooking any orange, yellow or green plants will properly release the Vitamin A (I do believe) and it's true the bitterness increases the function of all our organs. yeehaw !!
Teri Saccone (1 year ago)
This is called Arugula in Italy and USA, 'rocket' In uk. . I devour it . Thanks Doc. .
Teri Saccone (1 year ago)
Andrea Valentina thank you for clarifying that. ;)
DidiNYC (1 year ago)
Teri Saccone Come on, Sherlock! Lol Learn your herbs yourself haha
Andrea Valentina (1 year ago)
You are mixing your greens. Rocket is arugula in the USA and Italy. Dandelion is dandelion in the UK and the USA, and dente di leone in Italy. This weed is everywhere and has a bright yellow flower which can be infused for tea. The root are also dried and used as tea.
houndjog (1 year ago)
For salads - I sneak in some young, fresh smaller leaves about 2-3 inches long. The smaller ones are more like "salad" and tend to be less bitter.
Alexandra Russell (1 year ago)
Can it be juiced or blended with fruit and then drink it?
Susan B (1 year ago)
Alexandra Russell I blend all my veggies. I blend it with rosemary oil and put it with my salad. Not bad really.
Anarcho-fascist (1 year ago)
Alexandra Russell never juice fruits. You should only ever blend them, since juicing fruits removes the fibre and what's left is just concentrated sugar. But yes, you can BLEND them with fruits and drink it.
Susan Stoenica (1 year ago)
Yes it's real good lots of it outside and I'm using it also in smoothies good greens🤗👍👍

There are packets of 'green tea with dandelion' in the market. Are those health-ful too?

A lot of people sighed when they didnt hear that itwas Mary Joanna. Traditionally, Maori in New Zealand have eaten Puha (which is sow thistle) I wonder what the healing properties of that is.

I know it's a "weed" but no plant is a weed. See it's got so much good stuff in it, plus it makes a really tasty soft drink (dandelion & burdock)

My friend on cemo is not allowed any raw food. Only cooked vegtables.
afringedweller (1 year ago)
I've only ever had the cooked dandelion greens.  How I cooked them was in a cup or two of boiled water for a couple of minutes, then pour the water off, and pour boiling water on again, cook for another minute, and pour that water off too.  It helps get rid of some of the bitterness.  Put butter on 'em.
S Yusein (1 year ago)
make tea then
