501(c)3--Homes on Wheels Alliance Non Profit

2595 ratings | 24687 views
In today's video, we have a huge announcement that we have created an IRS certified 501c3 non-profit named Homes on Wheels Alliance Non Profit (HOWA for short). My wonderful friend Suanne is the Executive Director and I am the President of the Board of Trustees. If you know anything about organizing a 501c3, then you know we did it in an amazingly short period of time. There were 5 of us involved and we all worked what seemed like around-the-clock to make it happen!! But now that it has happened, we face the even harder job of putting into place the programs that will change people's lives. We have many ideas and plans but they all take an army of volunteers and mountains of money. We are confident that we can put both of those in place, but it won't be fast and it will take an enormous amount of work! We're up for it and we will be asking you for your help! Also, I want you to have total trust in the transparency and integrity of HOWA. Of course, we will comply with all IRS rules but we will go above them in any way we can to earn your trust. Of course there are trolls and haters running around screaming about how I am just doing this to rip-you-off. When you hear their shrill screams I hope you will ask yourself this, "Bob has been in the public eye and in personal contact with his readers and viewers since 2005 with his website, RTR forum, blog, and Youtube Channel--I wonder if there is even a shred of evidence of him doing all that work for any other reason than compassion? Is there any evidence of him doing it to steal from people?" After you ask those questions, ask yourself what you know about the trolls who are bad-mouthing me? Is there any reason you should believe them--have they proved that they deserve your trust? Do they even have the courage to tell you their real name and invite you into their camp? You'll have to make up your own mind. Be sure to visit my Amazon Influencer Store, where I have posted some of my useful and recommend products for nomadic living. As a bonus, I'll make a very small percentage of your purchases, even if you buy something not in the store. https://www.amazon.com/shop/cheaprvliving To purchase Nomad, RTR and CRVL Stickers, T-Shirts, Mugs, and other Apparel, please visit us here: teespring.com/stores/cheaprvlivingstore Cafepress.com/cheaprvliving No matter how cheap your budget, you can learn something from this video about vandwelling and how to turn your car, van, caravan or RV into a surprisingly cheap and mobile, tiny house on wheels! You'll learn everything you need to know to live in a car, van or RV. Then you can live the life of your dreams by adopting a minimalist, simple and frugal life of travel and adventure as a gypsy, nomad, traveler, vagabond, tramp, hobo or even a prepper by dropping out of the Rat Race and becoming a full-time Vandweller or RVer, @vanlife, #vanlife. But I was wondering if the new organization has a snail mail a person could write to it's not really good with computer skills? I think it's a wonderful thing that you guys are doing hoping in some way I can help out

I can't wait to become part of your community. In two years I will take early SS... I pray I can live that long so I can live the life and have the Freedom I have always wanted.

yessss, so proud of this accomplishment! Way to go!

What is HOWA’s mission statement? Are there memberships? Will there be any lobbying to authenticate the right to live full time on wheels? This lifestyle is the ultimate example of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness“ if ever there was one.
Becky Collett (1 month ago)
Fantastic! Both of you are so generous with your time and talents! I look forward to meeting you this year at RTR and maybe the WRTR first!

Yay! Much needed. Thanks for all your work!

On deciding who to help, you (HOWA) could develop a list of qualities you are looking for in order for a person to get help through HOWA. Develop the list, then compose questions regarding each "quality". Then when you interview a candidate ask them the questions and record their responses. That will lead to second interviews narrowing down the candidates. You may also consider a group interview where a group from your tribe will meet with finalists, ask them questions, get them to talk and then have the group make recommendations to the Exec. Director. If a candidate feels right then make them an offer of help. But, they must be able to self-sustain by working. Gotta watch out for down and outers due to drug abuse, alcoholism, laziness, etc.
Drill Sergeant (1 month ago)
Sure, why not? Since it's homes on wheels, it's an assumption that the person helped would be legal and physically able to drive. There's tons of "what-ifs" that will need to be answered. The board will figure all that out. I don't envy them? They sure have a noble vision and I applaud them.

Congratulations..... You All are amazing. Good Luck for your future. I'm sure that many will eventually be helped by the new HOWA team. Not meaning to discredit in any way Bob's CheapRVliving channel. Bob has helped hundreds of us with his wealth of knowledge about living on the road. Looking forward to meeting up with you all sometime in the future, Ron

Outstanding name! Impressive! If you havent already, write down and display your vision, mission, and guiding principles statements. From those flow everything. ( Together We Are Changing Lives *For The Better* ) Offer a regular "Home on Wheels Alliance" sticker and also "HOWA" needs a small round sticker like beach stickers! (no dots or periods). Best wishes!

Hahahah homes on wheels :)
So, if I become homeless, can I contact HOWA for help? Is this why you made a non-profit? I'm just confused at why it was created other then transparacy.
Blainey & Gumby (1 month ago)
Congrats! It looks like HOWA and I are close to having the same birthday! (That is not a shameless plug - Shameless plugs will come after I upload my first real video) I have learned a lot from Cheap RV living and all the Nomatic youtube channel. Having worked for non-profits I know all the good that can be done. I am looking forward to the future. I look foward to watching to see how you give the nomadic movement a voice in local, state, and national government!

Thanks, again, for all the hard work that went into this. Words can't express my gratitude for the message of hope that you've given me. It looks like you've assembled a good team. With the non-profit designation all the nay-sayers and jealous sorts will either come on board or be laughed at. Go HOWA!

Wonderful work, not even worth mentioning haters and such in your comments. There are cynical folks who usually aren't actually doing anything but going after folks who try. And all you can do is try- everything is imperfect so just do your best with the right intentions. I'm not on the road but it seems like there needs to be advocacy so that Americans can choose how they want to live, to maintain the right to live "on wheels: if we choose.

Whoo hoo! Congratulations! Glad you had smooth sailing! Probably due to a well done and complete IRS 501c3 application. I think that makes a huge difference. My business associate and I filed two different 501c3 applications at the same time. Mine was processed in weeks, he made an error and left some spaces blank and it dragged on for over a year before he got approved. Great job nomads! The name is fine, describes what the org is about and able to get the word out on social media to communicate what's going on and events and such. Congrats!

The blm lands were not established with the intent of people free loading on them. You are taking advantage of the tax payers who don't want people pooping in buckets or what ever happens this is not the intent of blm lands not for people to homestead free for now you will ruin it for all

. LOVE IT. The name and the logo is just right. Couldn't be more please for you. For us. Good job!!! Go team (Mealz on wheelz LOL, i mean) Homes on Wheels. It conjures up good associations with the things it sounds like too. AND The logo shines a pure heart. Kinda cute bc the cause could bum people out who don't realize those who live on wheels have found joy.

Bravo for you just in time for the next collapse which is coming and bigger than the last. Since many here seem to be the last of the middle class living on what was a liveable wage and retirement it is very nice that this is happening. Over 50% of citizens cannot deal with a $500.00 expense Over 50% are making ends meet on $30k or less which means living their vehicle is a viable solution until that is outlawed and enforced more aggressively. Bravo re-distributing the economic in-equality. Your angels to those homeless people looking to find homes in a vehicle or those imprisoned in their bank owned stick homes under mortgages aka debt/death pledges, in Latin.

Love the logo! That's great! Love the IRS status too - proud of you guys! My hubby, who is an attorney, lends his time to the local college teaching tax ramifications and documentation and medication/ADR classes for non-profits. We're so excited for you.

How do I go about getting help. I am homeless and crashing on my friends couch. I want to live free and be a nomad. I dont know how much longer I have to hang around here. Can you help?
Sandra Nelson (2 months ago)
I'm going to make a crazy prediction; that logo will become synonymous with help on the road, for anyone. This is about community, people helping people. I'm seeing rolling troops of volunteers, scampering to sites of disaster, offering aid or emergency transportation. I'm hoping that this alliance will be open to Canadian members as well.

Good to see it all coming together, for you Bob. It’s my hope people will take the opportunity to explore the alternate living philosophy and get out of the rat race. As you have said we are conditioned to the lifestyle of having a home, car, mortgage and work for someone else and make them rich and we just get by paycheck to paycheck. I Believe it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Good luck and thanks for all you do. 😎👍 Happy Halloween!!! 👻💀🧛‍♂️🎃

Right ON Bob et al. !!! You are doing so much good in the world.
This is a great bunch of news now what are your plans for your what are your plans I know you mentioned something about a lottery about building people veins to live in are you going to do that what else are you going to what else is there will you be having different locations you're going to hold the RTR in the future or will it always be in one place I'm happy that this is gone as far as it has this is like awesome and Bob I can't imagine anybody questioning your integrity or honesty about any money that people would donate you were the last person I would think that would do anything malicious with anybody's donations you are definitely the man for the job without question and as well as the rest of the team and I certainly don't want to leave them out because they are as you mentioned here a couple different times they the recipe to how this happened all of you are and this is going to be great news and is great news and I definitely look forward to hearing more about this little long-winded but that's okay

As the homeless numbers grow astronomically (as witnessed in my own city) it is wonderful seeing individuals come together to support those less fortunate. Kudos to you all for working on solutions. Giving people alternatives and hope truly enriches this planet. We all need to do what we can, however we can. If skeptics don’t want to support HOWA they need to get off the backside and start supporting local food banks and charities and get away from the media that obviously just feeds their negative feelings about life.

It'd be cool if you guys could negotiate a deal with flying J/Pilot to get free or discounted showers, maybe if you present a howa card or something. They could get a right off for the cost of each shower.

Another spectacular amazing highly informational video from none other than the captain of the ship Mr. Bob Wells, thank you thank you Bob for introducing me to my new life style by helping me to make the decision to sell my 2,300sqft home & cashing in that cash cow then moving into a Class B RV traveling everywhere I want to go, it's amazing & in mid November I'll be heading to the sugar White Sands of Jupiter Florida for the entire winter!

How about that. HOWA is how a great group of people help each other.

I honestly feel people living on blm lands are abusing the intent of the land which was set aside to camp on not to live on as a tax payer I feel you are using other people to support this life style ..

Congratulations on the 501 (c) 3 designation, the name and the logo. Any organization is only as good/effective as the people that run them. Therefore, it's important to know that experienced + professional + compassionate people are at the helm of this endeavor. Creating viable solutions to systemic problems can only be accomplished by visionaries that see things that many cannot until it's too late. And, unfortunately, that task carries the "burden" of investing part of their lives (time, talent & resources) to help others, including people that oppose them. May the swiftness of getting the non-profit approved be the wind beneath your wings to help glide you all through the next critical phases. Go H.O.W.A.!

I am so excited!!! I am a marketing consultant and I just moved into my RV this week! Full time. My hope is that HOWA can help organize a political arm that can help to change the laws in this country. We need safe places to park in cities. So many of us can't afford to live where we live, and need to stay for the social services. I would like to bring energy toward changing the laws so that they are more compassionate. I look forward to connecting with all of you at the RTR!

Beautiful light and scenery in this video. Nice logo. By the way, after one of his latest videos saying a friend had found a house in Pahrump for $50,000, I went online and found all kinds of houses in Nevada for even less, most are in the Northeast of the State, but I found incredible prices on acreage, and found some foreclosures for $60,000, 3 bedroom 2 bath, many of them.

Hi SueAnne and Bob. I've been full-time a year, since my ignoble debut at the RTR. I actually fleshed out a business called OpSource Alliance and it appears to me that I may have some information that could prove quite valuable to HOWA. How and when would be a good way to contact each other, that is, if you have any desire to know more.
