I cannot figure this, because I measure my blood sugar in mmol, which has to be around 5.5......does not correlate with your units of measurement.

While all of this information is great, you didn't talk about how much carbohydrates to take in and how to spread them out through the day. For an 1800 calorie diet 60 carbohydrates for breakfast 60 carbohydrates for lunch 30 carbohydrates in the afternoon 60 carbohydrates for dinner 15 carbohydrates in the evening A total of 225 carbohydrates a day Most people do not even eat this many carbohydrates. Example of carbohydrates 1 slice of bread 15 carbohydrates 8 oz of milk 15 carbohydrates 4 oz of peas 15 carbohydrates 4 oz of corn 15 carbohydrates 4 oz of potatoes 15 carbohydrates 4 oz of fruit or juice is 15 carbohydrates 2 inch by 2 inch piece of cake with NO icing is 15 carbohydrates 4 oz of beans is 15 carbohydrates 4 oz of sugar free pudding still has 11 carbohydrates That should be plenty to get you started on meal planning Remember when counting carbohydrates to look at the total amount of carbohydrates and not just the sugar added... Spread your meals out through the day If you are going to give up a carbohydrate choice, be sure to replace it with a non starchy vegetable Portion sizes are everything so be sure you are getting your servings at each meal 3 oz of meat is about the size of a deck of cards Fruits/veggies 4 oz or half of a cup If you can reduce your serving size or the amount of carbohydrate intake, more power to you... I have a child who loves potatoes If she hasn't give up 1 of her carbohydrates earlier in the day and she wants another half of a cup of potatoes with dinner she has to walk an extra half of a mile. She walks at least a half mile a day plus an extra half mile for each extra 15 grams of carbohydrates. She is insulin resistant, has pcos and refuses to take the meds So diet and exercise is how she is choosing to live... Couldn't be more proud of her.

I recenly got type2 diabetes 130 was my units however it's coming down. This video was more informative than any one of the doctors I've seen. I want to get off metphormin once my levels have normalized. I will request to see a dietician to help find good alternatives to vegetables as I don't like them. I've got breakfast covered it's lunch and dinner I need help with.

Dr Myhill says her CFS patients on her keto plan sometimes had undetectable blood sugar levels when lap tested. They reported feeling fine at the time of the test. If she's right then whilst in ketosis it is possible to be hypoglycemic without the body "tearing itself apart" or any other negative side effects.

I too stopped taking metformin 2 yrs ago and adopted a regimen of exercise, proper eating (I have found I can still enjoy most of what I like, I just have to use substitutes) I don't worry about carbs etc. just the fact that I can keep my BS between 80-120 daily which has lowered my A1C to help me reach the 5.5 and less goal.
Is Metformin good on the body? I've been taking it for 7 years...

How do you eat 7 cups of veggies without going over 15 carbs a day? That's how many I get, and most veggies go over this... I have T2 diabetes and have been working on reversing that and would love to know everything I could do. I have been doing keto for a month and am off my insulin meds and down to one 500mg metformin from 3 pills (1500mg). I do eat veggies, and that's where the majority of my carbs come from... but I don't think I could eat 7 cups... or maybe I'm wrong? Idk. I'm so unsure. Guess I'll try to work that out!

I just hv one question....if diabetes means insulin resistance...the cells won't take in the glucose, then how will adding more insulin help? Does it force more insulin receptors to take in more insulin or does the extra insulin take the sugar elsewhere? I'm confused as to why someone would be given more insulin when they are insulin resistant? 🤔

another doctor who has not leant anything in med school about the cause prevention and cure of diabetes! but tries to explain to us what causes it... unfortunately wrong. he has not learnt it because it is not taught. People, look at the magnificent work of these altruistic doctors: Walter Mertz, Klaus Schwartz, KN Jeejeebhoy..., Anderson or better yet US patents US5087623A and US4315927A you’ll find out what causes it… yes, chromium deficiency! And not excessive sugar consumption! It’s been known for more than 60 years… shame on the medical profession

how can you release the stress in the pancreas while increasing the liver with 20%? wtf ?!?!? if the liver pushes more sugar .. and the pancreas burns it with insuline... something is deffenetly off !!!

Have you heard the talk about - Patlarny Diabetes Ruins Principle (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one off guide for destroying diabetes minus the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my work buddy at very last got great results with it.

Basic nutrition IS the magic pill! Unfortunately we’ve been scammed and lied to for decades. Fats,proteins and greens are the staple of a healthy human meal plan.. all the other processed grains and refined sugars are the poison!! Our health and well being has been sold down river to maximize profits. Not only to for the criminal alphabet government agencies. But to our so called health care system too! Truly a shame!!

I am trying to reduce my blood sugar and i am doing morning swimming exercise without food ... everyone is telling me its bad not to eat breakfast, but if i do, my blood sugar goes up again ..even with just plain bread and black coffee.... what is your opinion, sir ..... How about i drink Karl juice and do that morning swimming exercise (without food) ... ? Thank you.

I've gained weight and lost weight a lot of times in my lifetime and I came up with a saying that says .. the more you eat the more you want in the less you eat the less you want and I found that to be very true with me and what you just explained proves that theory!!

I lost you at improving liver function to give pancreas a break. If they both have different/opposite functions or purposes then how could improving one effect the other. It’s like saying we should hire more taxi drivers to correct the problem of having to many Uber drivers on the streets, isn’t it? Wow. Thanks doc berg, I am type 1 diabetic and having major problems with hypos. I’ve woke up 5 times now with paramedics all around pumping me full of glucose. I’ve surrendered my licence until this is worked out but need it for work so getting it under control is a must. I have an A1C of 5.7 which is good but problems come with it. I need a solid diet of important things to control this. Please help me.

Interesting! Just read that the aminoacid Taurin can work as a mild insulin, due to it's blodsugar lowering effect. Estrogen can inhibit the Taurin uptake in the liver, so women that get hormonal treatment with estrogen in any form might be aware of that. Interesting about the potassium too. It kind of explains why raw food people (that eat right for that diet - high carb/low fat) often are energetic and slim. Don't misunderstand - LCHF is also a right diet for people who prefere it. It seems to be a choice - you can either eat high carb/low fat or high fat/low carb. You just can't eat both fat and carbs, the mix of the two cause problems...

Dear Dr Berg. You say that IGF-1 does the opposite of what insulin does.But what about glucagon which is precisely the antagonistic hormone of insulin since it raises blood sugar levels when needed???

I have been an insulin dependent diabetic for nearly 20 years and have spoken with a myriad of doctors, none of whom have ever even come close to your amazing video explanation. My buddy suggested this “amazing fivu com” (Google it) for my weight and diabetes. I had been following a firm fitness and diet plan. Right after one day on the diet program my blood glucose levels was decrease about 35 points, and by day 4 it was decrease about 60 points. It has been effective for me personally. I`m so pleased which I was able to normalize my blood sugar.

By opting for “amazing fivu com” (Google it), you`ll overcome diabetes and set you to a more favourable lifestyle. For a time frame of 1 ½ months, my partner has been a keen follower of the plan. He has been dependent to insulin for 5 years in his 6 year long struggle against type two diabetes. His eating routine get positively changed since he has been a keen reader and follower of this plan.
If your on the OMAD or Keto Diet, will eating that amount of veggies a day effect your weight loss efforts? I'm also a T1 and suffer with arthritis. I've had a hip replacement at 42years old too so can't do intensive exercise. I've started walking so I hope that helps. Cravings are a nightmare too.

Dr Berg can you please use glucose instead of sugar as many people take this sugar as sucrose and don't consider the refined carbs as well.
