Thanks a lot dude, looks like I’ll have ac sooner than later. My ac lines on my truck have been open for awhile, I am gonna buy the whole new line kit, my question to you is do I have to drain my coolant before I go disconnecting those lines?
Travis Gill (5 days ago)
Which lines are you removing..?
Omar Jarrett (18 days ago)

This was the only video that at least helped me get air back in my truck until I can locate the problem. I actually did this in the parking lot of a shop who was about to look at the issue for me. Needless to say I backed it up and left out of there with nice cold air until I can find the problem myself.
Eve Jackson (1 month ago)
Very good, thank you my man

FYI works on 2003 expedition. It was the actuator right just above the gas pedal. Thanks for the tip!

Yep, dude called it for me when he said to check your vacuum lines first. The connections in the engine compartment were rotted and leaking. Thanks dude, my panel vents have air again.
2012isRonPaul (2 months ago)
where is this stuff on a 98 mondeo?
187SicknesS (3 months ago)
2003 F150. I wedged a marble Webelo paperweight, I got while in the troop as a kid, and am only using the max AC and off option to avoid the arm moving and it becoming dislodged. I thought it was loose foam from the blender door that was preventing the panel from blowing cold air but it appears to be this. Is that what causes it, a hidden vacuum leak? All the other options for climate control work except for the front panels.

2000 Yukon blows cold air out defrost only

Well done, short and sweet

marquice scott (5 months ago)
youo
Joel Bargas (10 months ago)
Its the same temporary fix with the single climate control. Great video thx man! But my question is, where you showed that vacuum line that goes into the firewall, a "mechanic" pulled the line outta the firewall but won't confess to it not repair it without me paying him to fix his fuck up. Do you have to pull the dash to get to where that black vacuum line goes into the firewall in behind the dash?
Joel Bargas (10 months ago)
Travis Gill can you get to that without pulling the dash?
Travis Gill (10 months ago)
The recirculate door is over under the glove box
Joel Bargas (10 months ago)
Travis Gill Hey when you pull that vacuum solenoid down to make the air blow out the middle panel vents, will that just be fresh air or will the air recirculate like on max air? I couldn't get that thing to anchor down, so I just ended up taking the 2 screws that hold that solenoid in place and let it just drop down. That booger was a bitch to try zip tie down. Thanks again for your help sir.
Joel Bargas (10 months ago)
Travis Gill well at least if I can't easily get to it, this zip tying the actuator lever will help until it cools off and I don't mind pulling the dash lol. Thx again Travis for the info!
Travis Gill (10 months ago)
O boy this could get tricky...all I can say is yes you will need to drop the glove box down and look around. Believe it or not not all are the same due to the plant hey were assembled...unreal but I have seen it

How does Ford get away with such horrible design in their heating and air conditioning truck units? Mine is the same way. It's 10 hours labour to replace heater core and blend door. About $1500.00 with parts, labour and tax! 😤😤😤😤 Outrageous !!!! 😯😯😯😯👎👎👎👎

This manual method worked for me. There was no leak in the major lines, but I had my mechanic smoke test the head unit and confirmed that the unit did have a leak. So, I laughed when he told me he could get me a new unit for $900installed. https://youtu.be/PtfucNa6R_o This video showed how to replace the o-rings in the vacuum tubes inside the head unit, and he links to the parts and tools used in the repair. $40 later and an hour of my time, and I have a working A/C head unit. Thanks for the post.

I am having issues finding where to buy new hoses online. My ranger has this issue and I am sick of the heat!!! I am glad I found this video, thanks bud!!!
Travis Gill (1 year ago)
Glad I could help man
Josh Gold (1 year ago)
Anybody know if 2006 Ford Ranger has arm in the same place, or if it is different place? I will look for this arm below driver side dash when I get home tonight. Thanks for your help! My vacuum lines look fine, I might just try replacing heater/ac control panel as it is only $40 part.

I wedged a block of wood about 1 1/4" between the plunger and brace above it. Holds great and can remove it if it gets foggy until you fix the EATC. Thanks for your video for showing me where to go to fix it!!!
Tuck Spurlin (3 months ago)
Not sure how you got that cable tie in place......I wedged a block of wood in place as well.

Mad Mike (1 year ago)
YES it work , thanks ✌👏👏👏
Michael A (1 year ago)
yes, its a Vacuum Leak (only blows through defrost), BUT it is NOT always from a broken vacuum line. AFTER you trace and inspect your vacuum lines, Left side of engine, across and behind engine to right side to the Vacuum Reservoir, and then back to the fire wall, and then more inspection under the dash BEHIND the glove box, if it all looks INTACT and GOOD, then, think about replacing the VENT SWITCH (MAX AC to DEFROST). It is a VACUUM switch, they wear out, and then leak. Just grab a replacement switch from a wrecking yard, hopefully from a vehicle with NOT to many miles, after installation, wait a minute or so for the Vacuum Pressure to develop, and you will be presently pleased.

Travis Gill (1 year ago)
In the video I never said it was done...this is just a quick fix until you find the problem and repair it
Moani Makaiwi-Stroup (1 year ago)
will I be able to find it in the same spot in a 02 crew cab king ranch?
1robrox (1 year ago)
This is NOT a ford truck. This is a STATION WAGON. THIS DOES NOT HELP FIX A TRUCK.
1robrox (1 year ago)
The dash may be the same but the location of the part is not the same. All parts on my 2001 truck are located on the passenger side. Good video for that type vehicle.
Travis Gill (1 year ago)
1robrox you have no clue what you're talking about...the full size trucks non super duty have the same dash
SRT92 (1 year ago)
im confused, tie wrap it where again? i looked under, and i dont know exactly what your tie wrapping here..
SRT92 (1 year ago)
Travis Gill no 2003 f150, but i have the exact same setup i just need to know which way im susposed to slide that arm thats in the closed position
Travis Gill (1 year ago)
Yes sir...closed is when its pulled in..you can close it whit your hand but without tie wraps it will open back up
SRT92 (1 year ago)
Travis Gill hold on wait, that arm you were speaking of, it sort of slides back and foward. is that what you were talking about? if so, then how would i know whats the open or closed position?
Travis Gill (1 year ago)
you do have a Ford Expedition right...same body style..?
Travis Gill (1 year ago)

EsILL TheSeventhLetter I would guess the button itself or somewhere after button. if it's the button not working it maybe the control display, I'm just guessing.
Javier Carrasco (1 year ago)
where i need to replace the oring (im thinking that is my problem)? When im driving up the hill the air come from the defrost.. other time works fine..
Travis Gill (1 year ago)
Its hard to say on these model fords because they are famous for vacuum leaks
Javier Carrasco (1 year ago)
Do you think that is the problem for whatever I explained you
Travis Gill (1 year ago)
well if its the controls there is a o'ring kit to rebuild the controls
frank romo (1 year ago)
could it be possible that the actuator itself has failed?
frank romo (1 year ago)
I fixed some vacuum lines but still isn't working. gonna use some zip ties I guess
