You can get adrafinil without prescription and it's cheaper. But people generally say that they need to use 2 pills per day while effects from 1 modafinil pill last whole day.

I bought fluorinated modafinil for "research purposes" only. Its legal only if you agree to use it on your lab rat lol

I took 1200mgs of adrafinil and it did nothing for me. Guess it's not my nootropic sad face
Josh Kamins (24 days ago)
Why don't you do a video about the difference between Armodafinil and Modafinil a much better comparison?

You’re a dumbass
Quick Fix (1 month ago)
For those who are criticizing this guy, he wasn't discussing the legality of both drugs, he was just telling you how they're metabolized. Besides, you already know that modafinil needs a prescription.

Its over the counter and you don't have to pay out a#% going to a Dr kind of sounds like you work for big pharma

I just ordered Adrafinil about a month ago. I have never taken modafinil but Ive been taking Adrafinil for about 3 weeks and haven't experienced any effects whatsoever. Nothing. I ordered a bottle of it from Nootropics City. Just my opinion but it might be different for everybody. Waste of my money though.
Joe Masello (3 months ago)
A very good description of both compounds but I completely disagree with your advantage/disadvantage opinion simply because of the legal status, huge price difference and the ease of purchasing adrifinil. For a few dollars anyone can purchase a bottle of adrifinil on Amazon without a prescription for basically the same thing.

Dude change the category to health and supplements. You'll get way more views, likes and comments.

The fact that you didn't point out modafinil is a controlled substance and adrafinil isn't makes you lose all credibility whether one is worth taking over the other.
Feral Kimchi (6 months ago)
Sure, but adrafinil doesn't require a prescription and seems to be less expensive than modafinil.

Could anyone comment further on potential liver damage? I'm guessing it's only thought to possibly cause it due to increased liver enzymes, but I would really like more information on how potentially dangerous it may be. I've been interested in trying adrafinil for a while now. Would be nice if I could just, y'know, try modafinil, though.

Best comprehensive video I've seen on the differences. Thank you for explaining so well! Are you a teacher? lol
Flatulence The Unending (8 months ago)
It isn't pointless. Some people can't get a prescription for Modafinil.

How about the fact that you can legally take adrafinil without a prescription but if you don't have a prescription for modafinil and you get caught with modafinil it is a felony charge of drug possession? Is that not a benefit of adrafinil over modafinil? A legal benefit.
GPhi46 (9 months ago)
First I have not used either drug. I am just doing some research before I try Adrafinil. Now if Adrafinil cause elevated liver enzymes then Modafinil must do the same. If not then the elevated liver enzymes must be secondary to the increased amount of Modafinil acid that is produced since this is the only difference I see. Both drugs metabolize to Modafinil acid per your discussion. The difference is if you take Adrafinil there 2 points where the pathway goes to Modafinil acid and 1 with Modafinil. So I don't see why one drug would increase liver function test not the other unless it is caused by the Modafinil acid. If that is the case then still both should cause elevated liver test. You would just need higher dose of Modafinil to get the same side effects. Maybe some else is missing with the Adrafinil pathway. I hope that makes sense. Use both sparingly.

Something you didn't mention is that modafinil requires a prescription while adrafonil does not

This is just superb, I have been researching "getting a stiffy" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Aidenzey Hard Framework - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my mate got cool results with it.

Where can i get some modafinil
James Jansen (5 months ago)
Jon Waters i was going to write that myself. Very good point my friend. The very reason i ordered adrafinil, legally, w/o a script, online

adrafinil gives me anxiety a two hours later every time. never bought again.
corndog984 (1 year ago)
unfortunately, i purchased Adrafinil before watching this. thanks for clarifying. i'll still try it out, and update you on the details!
Uppaluri Krishnamurti (1 year ago)
brandonbursley nootropicsdepot has always the best. Solid stuff with third party certificate of analysis. Take two to three times the amount of modafinil for optimal effects.

Hey man, thanks alot for the video. I was considering ordering Adrafinil, but after seeing this I think I might just pass on it and try to obtain real Modafinil instead. Thanks again! Subbed.

LucasLA hey how can i get some modafinil
David H Braun (2 years ago)
The problem with Modafinil is that its is a Schedule IV controlled substance, and therefore cannot be purchased without a prescription. I've found Adrafinil to be one of the few neurotropics that is indeed effective to a clearly discernable degree -- worth buying. I'd purchase Modafinil only if it were legal to do so. Regarding liver enzymes, I have a healthy liver, but take N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (a liver protector, as it is converted to glutathione), and wonder if it offers protection from whatever metabolite of Adrafinil might be responsible for elevated liver enzymes. In addition to Adrafinil, I've found amazing results from caffeine and aspirin in combination (please google research on this) and, just recently, caffeine and L-Theanine (again, google for research).
Jim Davis (2 years ago)
This idiot savante misses that point entirely. Adrafinil you can order online, Modafinil not so much!
Patrick O'Neill (2 years ago)
Okay, I see your point and I do agree with you completely; Adrafinil is a less effective version of Modafinil. Although while it may be a prodrug and most of it is wasted being converted into Modafinil in the liver, it is legal and is an over the counter substance while as Modafinil, you need a prescription. So that being said, for someone unable to obtain Modafinil, do you think that Adrafinil would be somewhat of a viable substitute? I'd appreicate and would very much respect a response if you could, thanks. great vid btw, you really know what your talking about unlike most other videos i've come across.
BaldManLogan (1 year ago)
Patrick O'Neill your brain gets the same chemical with either modafinil or adrafinil, it's not less effective. It's just less potent, meaning you need more of adrafinil to achieve the same effects as modafinil
Patrick O'Neill (2 years ago)
May I also add how relieving it is to finally see a video from someone who isn't promoting these drugs as the "magic limitless pill" or trying to get me to buy something but instead is stating the facts. Not swaying to one side or the other, Truly Impartial. I commend and thank you sir.

I would love to see a adderall vs modafinil! I know they are quite different, but they are used for the same purpose (study wise, I know they have other and separate uses as well). Anyway keep up the great work!
adu1991 (1 year ago)
+BaldManLogan Modafinil might be weaker than Adderall, but there's more downsides & side effects with the latter drug.... It seems like Modafinil gives you smoother & cleaner energy, while some people get more of a rush from Adderall. Both could give a person sleep problems, but continued Adderall use could result in nervousness, vomiting, weight loss, decreased sex drive, and heart palpations, to name a few.... Also, there's the fact that Modafinil is more legal than Adderall. Some countries require a prescription in order for Modafinil to be used legally. Adderall, on the other hand, is banned from most sports and you can even get arrested for using it. People are free to use either one, but I'm just giving out my take on it.

Ryan Staudacher adderall blows modafinil out of the water
