Top 10 Worst Automakers: 2018

1673 ratings | 144686 views
You may want to avoid these automakers if you’re shopping for a new car. Consumer Reports has released its 2018 Brand Report Card, ranking automakers based on an overall score that is determined by vehicle testing, predicted reliability, and owner satisfaction. Owner feedback was provided on more than 640,000 cars to determine predicted reliability and satisfaction from J.D. Power’s Annual Auto Survey. In order to be included in the rankings, an automaker must have at least two vehicles that were tested by Consumer Reports. That means this year, Maserati and Smart lacked sufficient data to be ranked. I doubt mitsubshi could be hardly on the list . An amazing company with good reputation.

"predicted reliability".... Half of these scores don't mean anything and are just based upon brand reliability stereotypes

290 dislikes from FCA owners lol.

GM needs to give up on GMC Trucks and bring back Pontiac. It's redundant to have both Chevy and GMC when they essentially sell the same vehicles.
Hoinyack Yates (2 months ago)
Living in Detroit and knowing a couple of people that work at Chrysler, the Fiat marriage is not working out. They say the Germans were more respectful and took an interest in MOPAR heritage, where the Italians act stuck up and just care more about the Fiat and Alpha brands.

I don't understand how GMC could be on the list and not Chevrolet!! aren't they the same????😵
ElectricZebra85 (2 months ago)
The only reason a Japanese brand was on that list is because Mitisubishi haven't updated their cars in way to long. They had above average reliability. Wouldn't be surprised if Mercedes-Benz paid consumer reports to swap them out for Mitisubishi though, over priced garbage FCA, used the same keyfob as a Dodge just had a Mercedes logo on it hahaha
QCCanalesUnoTV UnoTV (2 months ago)
Fiat & Jeep keep up the good job! LOL
fernarias (2 months ago)
So, this was a combined score of reliability and road scores (road scores that consumer reports gave). How about the top 10 least reliable cars. People can make their own minds of what they like or don't like. This video is misleading. And wtf is predicted reliability. I want to know actual reliability.

All the inflated ego-ed red-necked males are going to be in denial when their fantasies are electrocuted once they see their gas guzzling Ram trucks on this list ...

Now see this is y u should buy any car that has nothing to do with gm
daniel higgins (2 months ago)
People who use their trucks for work buy Rams for their engines. I went from a one ton with a Cummins to a half-ton with a Pentastar V6, and both serve their intended purpose quite well. Price is also a factor. I probably won't buy another though. Too many recalls, and a few mechanical issues.
John Strand (2 months ago)
I had an FCA product and think this is a fraudulent corporation that is ducking basic warranty obligation. I will never own another after the last swindle and I have a mountain of paperwork to prove that they suck badly.
Peppridge Farm Remembers (2 months ago)
Like how gmc was the only gm brand to make the list, even though all of their cars are just trimmed out rebadged chevrolets/buicks. Which would mean GM is a poor auto maker

My youngest brother got out of an Alfa Romeo and bought a Jeep ....it broke down (refused to recognise the key) because of a fault in the security system. They charged him to replace the remote controls and did apatch on the computer. A few weeks later the transmission started to give a strange shift pattern ? " Not a problem we reprogram the computer . Not a good fix. A four hour drive to another dealer, replaced the computer...... Needless to say not fixed. An aftermarket chip for the accelerator pedal eased the problem. Dealer response " Bring it back to Canberra (Australia) and we'll put you in a new Alpha !!!
Michael Hunt (2 months ago)
Results would be pretty much the same if this score was done 25 years ago. All these brands have a long history of being garbage.
Peter Schmidt (2 months ago)
I hate saying this, but I think if all of FCA (except Jeep) didn't exist, the car industry would be in better shape. They're just saturating the market and they make the bottom line just a little too low. I think Jeep is worth keeping, but they could be sold off to someone else. Fiat and Alfa Romeo may not be good, but at least their cars are interesting, so they too could survive under someone else's hands. But everything else (Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Maserati) need to go.

I love my 2018 grand cherokee if Jeeps are so unreliable how come I see 15-20 Jeeps everywhere and why is the resale value so high??? Have a 2012 Dodge Journey only issue was early brake rotor replacement. Keep hating those Jeeps love those $5K year end discounts/rebates.

Yay!!! No BMW Bashing 🤓. & Idk but FCA is 10x better than DiamlerChrysler I haven't gotten any FCA owners as clients.
Jim M (2 months ago)
Without even watching the video you knew FCA would be well represented.
GO CARDO GO (2 months ago)
These reviews... even though they’re doing good, they’re doing better then others. These reviews seem to hate FCA I HIGHLY believe! Seems like a tuners review. Smart car & and gas friendly consumer review.. Dodge is a better brand then the others. It isn’t chasing best gas prices. It’s giving people what the my want. This honestly was a bad/inaccurate review

I had a Dodge Shadow for about 5 years, and it was pretty reliable. Had to get rid of it because it had no a/c and my kids were young, traded for a Dodge Colt, also very good. My current daily is an '07 Focus ST which has been amazing. Guess I have been lucky!

I had my 09 ram 120k miles with no problems until I traded it on a 16 ram rebel only 20 k but no problems.

What’s the main issue with all the brands? Yeah. That was missed by the video.
Tim Stappler (3 months ago)
Surprising they just don’t say the only brand that does not suck is Toyota and maybe Honda....consumer Reports biggest sponsors.
doodskie999 (3 months ago)
Surprised ford wasnt here. Considering all the powershift issues with their DCT issues they have. Even recalling it in australia. Either this was sponsored by ford or all their models broke down before they can even test it and reviewers didnt even bother putting it here
lee hancock (3 months ago)
Comsumer reports is the least reliable auto journalist .
Daniel Sandoval (3 months ago)
I'm both sad and not surprised with Fiat. With poor quality materials used, terrible transmission, and sub-par gas mileage, I had a lot of hopes in seeing the brand revitalize and counteract the SUV apocalypse-like trend when hearing they would make a comeback to U.S. shores. Here's to hoping that will change one day.
Alex SAAB (3 months ago)
I mean you knew Fiat was going to be #1 before the video
Lava Yuki (3 months ago)
GMC... that just reminds me of the medical council in the UK called the GMC
bounty 543 (3 months ago)
If this list is based on customers experience, it would make sense that alfa romeo is there, it's a result of the stereotype around the brand, i mean if a customer has a problem on a audi and has the same issue with the alfa he would tend to "forgive" the audi and get upset with the alfa, the level of patience is lower for the alfa because people keep talking shit about reliability.
Joshua Eaton (3 months ago)
As well as pretty much everything Consumer Reports publishes you need to take it with a grain of salt.
Timex Wi (3 months ago)
my car keeps breaking down. but I'm happy? must be waiting for lemon buyback

I’m so glad Chevy isn’t on this list
**V** (3 months ago)
"Predicted reliability" is stupid. Theoretically and practically does not make sense. Chevrolet always gets a good 'predicted reliability' and somehow turns to be a nightmare.
Jeffrey Gebhart (3 months ago)
Dodge/Jeep/Ram and Fiat are four of the top worst. Keep up the good work Fiat-Chrysler 😂😂

Why no Volvo or Tesla?
The Government (3 months ago)
because they were generally more reliable than the other 10?
Edward T (3 months ago)
FIAT was crappy in the 60s and 70s here in the US. I guess partnering with a crappy American company won’t make any wave. “Fix It Again Tony” still applies today.
Frank Burns (3 months ago)
Haven't had a single issue in the 5 years I've owned my Challenger SRT8, and it's a blast to drive, so for me at least, owner satisfaction and reliability have been perfect. Maybe I just got lucky, but I still think these reliability ratings are massively overrated.
brunofazio007 (3 months ago)
I had Zero issues with my 2014 Fiat 500. Not sure how it made bottom of the list???
twoeightythreez (3 months ago)
The Fiat roadster is a Mazda Miata so it should.at least be one decent Fiat.

My boyfriend should be making this report, he is real MAN, OWNS his shop, he knows cars. NOT A little SOY BOY.

Dodge needs to make a excellent police car. FORD is KILLING THEIR CARS. DODGE needs to use the Chrysler 300, as a DODGE POLICE CAR (RWD, AWD). V-6 Hybrid WITH enough batteries, when the police car is parked on the ROAD side, using batteries with engine shut off. DODGE would sell 100,000 police cars, Plus 20,000 civilian version's. DODGE needs to specialize on police cars.
Alex Mitchell (3 months ago)
They certainly used to specialize in police cars.
tri-u watersports (3 months ago)
LOOK at FORD, they have separated pickup and CARS, By killing all their cars.

FCA = sad
bryan hurd (3 months ago)
This is strange but has been going on for a long time.......Land Rover defender a solid not too expensive 4x4,for years which sold well, then the nutters that own the brand jacked up the price then stopped making them, land rovers other models have outstanding advertising but rubbish vehicles,Alfa Romeo of which I am a fan and have had a number, still have and 82 Spider stopped making cars around 1988,this that you see now are not alfas.
