Top 10 Worst Automakers: 2018

1143 ratings | 87079 views
You may want to avoid these automakers if you’re shopping for a new car. Consumer Reports has released its 2018 Brand Report Card, ranking automakers based on an overall score that is determined by vehicle testing, predicted reliability, and owner satisfaction. Owner feedback was provided on more than 640,000 cars to determine predicted reliability and satisfaction from J.D. Power’s Annual Auto Survey. In order to be included in the rankings, an automaker must have at least two vehicles that were tested by Consumer Reports. That means this year, Maserati and Smart lacked sufficient data to be ranked. I almost believe you until you mentioned Mitsubishi, we have mitsubishis in our garage, we dont have any problems in all aspects...
Extreme Ways (5 days ago)
Dodge is the best looking brand out there lmao I love my charger 100 000 miles and nothing besides oil x’s Obviously this consumer is bs they are getting paid by ford Last time I checked #2 truck sales were Ram behind ford and sales are climbing that’s why dodge dropped viper so they can focus on truck , year later ford dropped all sedan car to save money and invest in trucks because they were scared that ram trucks are creeping right after them.... and u can’t beat the new ram truck best looking truck out there as right now
Tom Swinburn (6 days ago)
Not having owned or driven any of these I can't say with certainty, but this report bears out what's heard elsewhere. Anytime I hear of a single source ragging on something or someone i take it with a grain of salt. But when it's repeated over and over by many different reviewers one tends to believe. I wouldn't buy any of these.

LMFAO Dodge and FCA fuckboys are going to hate this

Eat some meat, get a haircut, and stop stealing other people's material.

Bullshit... These days MB CARS are less reliable than the fiat and alfa Romeo... Just another manipulation and making fun out of Italian cars...
Gordon Wiessner (6 days ago)
Most are purchased for the name brand not the quality. FCA has become the garbage pit for reliability. The new Challenger is nice looking but with Chrysler's the overall suspension turns to crap after about 30,000 miles.
TrollBuster (6 days ago)
It's baffling that anyone buys Fiats or Chryslers these days. Pure junk!

Bottom line- Buy Ford!
Robert Montagna (7 days ago)
I had a 2012 fiat 500 sport, and currently own a 2015 500 abarth. Fun cars, but I agree with the reliability issues. Its always something.
FazeTug (7 days ago)
And if you see Jaguar and Range Rover, then you’ll see Ford... sorry to say it. But they were the makers of Land Rover and Jaguar. They were all owned under the same brand which was ford. Like GM owning Cadillac, Chevy, and GMC etc.

VW ??? No where to be found ? .
Karl Parato (10 days ago)
All I can say is that my brother's dodge minivan I borrowed from him the other day has 200+K on it and the engine and transmission still feel solid and capable! Yes there are some broken bits on it but it just works overall and has been a great vehicle for him.
RDV V (10 days ago)
being in the car industry, I am not surprised by any of these. Actually very surprised that Chevy is not on here.
Clifford Jones (10 days ago)
This is bull shit the one I saw Chrysler was oly 15 out of 20 so u are full of shit if Chrysler is so bad y are tho selling up a 11% Ford down 18% GM down 15 % Toyota down 2%
williamg2552 (11 days ago)
This is CRAZY !! Back in the 60's Chrysler Corporation made the best-engineered cars and trucks in America !! So much so, that they pioneered the first 5 year/50,000 mile powertrain warranty !! Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Imperial, and Dodge Trucks. WHAT HAPPENED ?? 1) https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=1959+chrysler+corporation 2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtyG9jQ1Ydc 3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOy6_uk3k3k

Fiat Group no surprises there then. Jaguar-Land Rover and Mini. Big surprise.

I have a 2013 dodge charger rt. Nothing but problems ,cam crank. Sensor, cruise controller, alt. Trunk does not open ,brakes locking up and not reliceing.ect. eco sucks. Fit and finish bad. Dodge Dealer over charges for things I do not want checked.
Herb Wandrei (15 days ago)
Fiat holding down number one spot for 50 years no surprise
david westerlund (15 days ago)
Very good and accurate video. Noted few Japanese, no Korean or German autos. But then, I will never buy another Toyota because of poor dealer and Toyota factory rep in my area. Consumer Reports is GR8 too.
babak1969van (15 days ago)
FCA stands for “Fuckedup Car Award” No surprise when you mix an Italian brand known for troubles with a brand that doesn’t care. Oh by the way Fiat means: Fix It Again Tony !”
LeeROBD (16 days ago)
FCA no wonder. Fiat denied my warranty repair when it was in fact in warranty. Fuk Fiat. Never buy them.
Ismael Zaragoza (16 days ago)
Car enthusiast should be the one reviewing cars, not basic consumers!
Elwookiee07 (16 days ago)
Land rover is on the list no surprise there.
Clay S (16 days ago)
You mean the re- badged Yugo??? Would have never guessed.
Hazwaste63 (16 days ago)
Been driving a 2015 Challenger since new. I've had problems, but luckily while still under warranty (all 4 wheel speed sensors, and an ECU that lost its mind). It comes off the powertrain warranty in 3000 miles. Let's just say I'm somewhat nervous about what the future holds.
theangryhobos (16 days ago)
I'm a little disappointed with my Honda. It's starting to have problems and it's only been 23 years.
Shepperd November (17 days ago)
Below-average reliability? And above-average customer satisfaction? As someone who buys cars new (or almost new) and keeps them for 20 years (and beyond) that makes zero sense to me.
Tim Shelby (17 days ago)
What ? no Volkswagen ?
ctk4949 (17 days ago)
Uh how can Subaru be on the Best and Least Dependable Automaker list?!?!? LOL!!
Evil One (17 days ago)
Predicted reliability not actual reliability. So to start your info is bullshit
Derek Colvin (17 days ago)
FIAT-FIX it again Tony
BigDog (17 days ago)
No !!!! Wife drives a Jeep GC and I have a Dodge Charger love them!!!
André Gonçalves (18 days ago)
Fiat it is really one of the most unreliable and dangerous car makers. Just check EuroNCAP results and you will understand. If you want to have an accident and survive just pass Fiat !!
William Rense (18 days ago)
I own two late model Jaguars, a 2011 XF-R sedan and a 2014 F-Type convertible. The reliability has been excellent and the owner satisfaction is over the top. Just how does Consumer Reports come up with its road test scores?
A Wes (18 days ago)
I call bullshyht on this list. My pops bought a new 2016 GMC Terrain Danali & hasn't had any problems at all to this day.
Garth Wright (19 days ago)
Why Ford isn't on it??????????????
Z. Kommer (19 days ago)
Fix It Again Tony
**V** (19 days ago)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but consumer reports predictability is the dumbest thing. Here is why: Chevrolet as a brand had a good predictability score since 2012, and their models have issues that appear before the 100,000 mile mark- 2012 Chevrolet Malibu 2.4 liter timing chain failure at 60,000 miles is a great example. Almost always, the predictions of Conumer Reports are sh!+
James Skubal (20 days ago)
I think this vid is a little anti 'merican and fca.
Tony G (20 days ago)
Definitely have something against FCA! They have cars all companies try to imitate! Ram, dodge, and keep! Especially jeep! The wrangler holds its value like no other! Is it cause it’s unreliable? Don’t think so you haters!!!
Tony G (20 days ago)
I completely disagree! American cars have come so far! Considering the cost of cars you get what you pay for the cheaper the the lower overall rating!!
John Shuler (21 days ago)
I am surprised that BMW isn't on that list. I had a 328x drive 3 series. It was the worst car that I have owned. It left me sit twice. The last trip to the shop cost me 4000 dollars. Crank sensor and fuel regulator new fuel tank new valve cover and gasket. I don't understand how this company can stay in business!
Eman 08 (21 days ago)
Tesla should be on the list too as they are some of the biggest money pit cars that America has ever built. Once those cars are out of warranty they will bankrupt you in massive electrical repair bills. One Tesla owner went through $24,000 worth drive units on his Tesla S Model as all 4 of them failed, plus 9 Electronic door handles that cost $800-$1,000 each and two battery replacements $9,000 each. Another Tesla owner had to replace the 17 imch screen Media control unit that cost $3,800 and another $5,000 in brakes and the list goes on. Watch Rich Rebuilds as he will tell you the rest of the true cost of owning an out of warranty Tesla. https://youtu.be/nq5c4jGR2gM
First Last (21 days ago)
Their standards are of those of an old couple. Many of their 'high rated' cars I would never ever think of driving: boring, ill handling and pathetic performance. Such as the Corolla.
Rich Santoro (21 days ago)
....And now.... For the 10 worst vacuums. I score CR the WORST at everything they write about. They're terrible. If you want to know about cars, go seek out car experts and not Consumer Reports. Geeeez.
RedRoscoe61 (21 days ago)
ALL GM VEHICLES ARE REALLY RELIABLE WE HAVE GMC SIERRA AND ITS SO GOOD (edit) Fca isn't a bad company but definitely room for improvement and more vehicles. Chrysler *cough cough* Fiat is only bad Fca car.
britshell (21 days ago)
considering Fiat owns Dodge, Ram, and Jeep. tThey're the biggest failure this year by far.
Drowsy_ Mouse (22 days ago)
Volvo #1
Vincent Chapman (22 days ago)
I can't believe ford wasn't on the list in #1, worst car brand I've ever owned
420CEO (22 days ago)
Yep. Don’t buy a Fiat
Mick Psyphon (23 days ago)
RAM trucks? Seriously!?! How old were the models tested I'd 2018? 20 yrs old? This _'Consumer'_ Report seems to fly in the face of real world testing. Without exception, everyone that I know who owns a RAM truck is extremely satisfied with them; and they aren't complaining about any problematic issues. That's a good 30 odd RAM truck owners in my area. Did they all purchase the only good models ever built?
andrew zweiger (23 days ago)
I'm sure Ford deserves some spots on there!
Quang B (23 days ago)
Where's Chrysler on this list?
Victor Trejo (23 days ago)
Iuri Abarth (23 days ago)
Have a Jeep, an Alfa and a Fiat Abarth for more than 5 years. According to you AutoGuide i’m doomed, but never broke down... so fuk your reports...

FIAT : Fix It Again Tony, Fix It Again Today, Failure In All Things.
William Reed (24 days ago)
GMC should have been dropped! Then GM could have kept Pontiac!
Robert F. Koscinski (2 days ago)
William Reed: Just got rid of my Pontiac. Biggest piece of crap, just like the Honda Accord I had years ago.
KT Johnson (14 days ago)
William Reed Actually, Buick. General Motors has THREE luxury brands, leaving Chevrolet to be a standard brand. Pontiac got dropped because sales were slumping. What is the need of having a lot of luxury brands to begin with? Back then, GM had WAY TOO MANY brands competing against each other. But they usually sell you whatever car that generally fits your budget. Saturn was GM's version of Toyota and Saab was GM's version of Volvo. But here's the killer: GMC is on the list, so a good chance Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac would have similar issues since they share the same platform.
P-Impmon (24 days ago)
I Don't know about Ram but i still see Dodge running around the streets, mostly SUVs.
Verl Jessop (24 days ago)
No I don’t agree
George Varbanov (24 days ago)
That list seems way cooler than the Top 10 Best Automakers to me :>
Gummy Bear (25 days ago)
Thank God VW wasn't on the list 😂
Andrew S (25 days ago)
Kia and Hyundai bought their way off of this list 😂.
Highway Gaming2002 (25 days ago)
Chrysler have to be on here (posting this comment before I've even watched the full video)
Michael Bacon (25 days ago)
FCA U.S. should shelve the Chrysler brand (give the Pacifica to Dodge) and focus on Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. Just my opinion.
NinjaMonsterMG (25 days ago)
Can you stop using all of CR's stuff??
Guy The GalaXII (25 days ago)
1. Ford cuz they are getting rid of thier sedans.
Terry Dolphin (25 days ago)
wish these stupid videos would stop appearing in my feed. sampling a few hundred people does not make the statistics in anyway useful, this is clickbait non-sense.
Mc007Queen (25 days ago)
We have enough crap that Ford GM and Chrysler makes we don't need no European brand Fiat dumping their crap over here , keep your shit over there ,
Chris Tudor (25 days ago)
GMC earns the right to be on this list. They make shitty vehicles.
name goes here (25 days ago)
Anyone notice, a majority of these brands are American.
name goes here (20 days ago)
Puff the Magic Dragon the United states makes poorly engineered and dull cars. No us automaker can compare to cars made in Japan, Germany, Italy, Britain etc
Puff the Magic Dragon (20 days ago)
name goes here Not really, I'd say they slot in between Toyota and Honda for reliability.
name goes here (21 days ago)
Puff the Magic Dragon what about Ford and GM they make poor quality cars when compared to Toyota or Honda
Puff the Magic Dragon (22 days ago)
name goes here From 1 company for the most part, other American cars are good, fca products, not so much.
wholeNwon (25 days ago)
So, nothing new: The trouble-prone junk that every informed buyer knows about.
Ken Mackay (25 days ago)
Yeah chrysler sucks
Northwind000 (25 days ago)
Woot, daddy Ford isn't on here.
Puff the Magic Dragon (22 days ago)
Guy The GalaXII They're good cars, fords in general I mean, but they can't make something American consumers won't buy.
Guy The GalaXII (25 days ago)
Northwind000 it should be. Im mad they said they are not going to produce the fusion and taurus anymore.
Troy Eppstein (25 days ago)
"Predicted reliability"? How can that even be considered evaluation criteria?
mikuelable (25 days ago)
How on earth is mitsubishi and jaguar so low this list is BS
Boris Kotzev (26 days ago)
All Jap crap fens are here.
kevin dubois (26 days ago)
I’ve never seen CR report anything objective in my life. They can say they are totally independent all they want, but they sure do love them some Japanese. Hmmmmm.
mj28inpa (26 days ago)
All garbage cars!
Eli Sommer (26 days ago)
At least fca is an industry leader in something
