Sertraline (Zoloft): What You Need To Know

10:10
Sertraline is an antidepressant in the SSRI class. It’s used for depression, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, and a number of other conditions. After entering the market in the early 1990s, sertraline became one of the most popular antidepressants. The drug is used in adults, adolescents, and children. There might be greater concerns and lower efficacy in young people. Antidepressants Make it Harder to Empathize, Harder to Climax, and Harder to Cry.

06:51
Dr. Julie Holland argues that women are designed by nature to be dynamic and sensitive – women are moody and that is a good thing. Yet millions of women are medicating away their emotions because we are out of sync with our own bodies and we are told that moodiness is a problem to be fixed. One in four women takes a psychiatric drug. If you add sleeping pills to the mix the statistics become higher. Overprescribed medications can have far-reaching consequences for women in many areas of our lives: sex, relationships, sleep, eating, focus, balance, and aging. Dr. Holland's newest book is titled Moody Bitches: The Truth About the Drugs You’re Taking, the Sleep You’re Missing, the Sex You’re Not Having and What’s Really Making You Crazy. Read more at BigThink.com: http://goo.gl/O8uR Follow Big Think here: YouTube: http://goo.gl/CPTsV5 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BigThinkdotcom Twitter: https://twitter.com/bigthink Transcript: The main kind of antidepressant that is the most popularly prescribed are the SSRIs and these are medicines that increase serotonin transmission. And when you start to push on the doses of these SSRIs you start to lose some sort of quintessential feminine things. First of all it becomes much hard to climax and it becomes much, much harder to cry. But you also see decreases in empathy, in sensitivity, in passion. The simple way of thinking about an SSRI is that you have two brain cells and one is a pitcher and one is a catcher. So pitch, catch. Pitch, catch. So this nerve cell is throwing serotonin across and this one is catching it. What the medicines do is they block the recycling back into the pitcher. So, you know, I’m throwing, I’m throwing, some of this gets caught, some of it gets dropped. It just doesn’t get over there but I’ll suck it back in and try again. So if you block the recycling more is in the middle to get across. So there’s more, you know, the space between the nerve cells is called the synapse. If you block the recycling of the serotonin into the releasing cell more is available for the catching cell. So it ends up enhancing the transmission. How enhanced serotonergic transmission translates into feeling better and feeling less anxious is much more complicated. But, you know, the simplistic way to think about it is that if you have higher levels of serotonin, if your transmission is better you will be more relaxed and more happy. It’s a little easier to smile. It’s a little harder to cry. So, you know, I’ve had patients come to me and say, you know, I’ve tried antidepressants before but they always made me feel like a zombie or they didn’t make me feel like myself. Or I had a patient who said like I cut my finger and I looked down and I saw that it was bleeding and I saw that it was my blood but I didn’t really feel like connected to my finger or the blood. You know, things like that that are really, really worrisome. Or I’ve had patients say, you know, I was in this situation where I knew I should be crying and I couldn’t cry. And, you know, I felt terrible that I couldn’t express that emotion to bond with my friend or something like that. So these antidepressants do scale back a lot of expression of emotion and feeling emotion even sort of thinking emotional thoughts. If you’re terribly depressed and you need antidepressants to get out of bed and function and go to work I get it. That’s one thing. But what I’m worried about is more and more women deciding to go on antidepressants because their friends are doing it and that’s what’s, you know, more and more women who are at work are taking these SSRIs so that they cannot cry, not get flustered, keep going forward. You know I think it jives with this sort of forward momentum agenda that so many of us have and especially in the workplace. But, you know, I would say at what cost? You know it is true that SSRIs can help you get ahead and there have been really interesting animal studies where, you know, the primates who are on SSRIs ascended up the dominance hierarchy. And the ones who became dominated over got stressed out and had lower serotonin levels. So there does seem to be some component of serotonin affecting dominance hierarchies and, you know, the ability to move ahead or to lean in. So I totally get that there are advantages to being on an SSRI in the workplace. But, you’re going to miss out on knowing what’s right because you feel it or being hurt by what somebody said and showing them that you’re hurt. And so that person can learn that their behavior has emotional consequences for other people. So and it changes the whole sort of tone of the workplace. There’s going to be less accountability and less sort of calling people on their misbehavior if you’re not even feeling that anyone misbehaved. [TRANSCRIPT TRUNCATED]

SSRI, LEXAPRO Brain Damage

26:17
Facebook Group for victims, not open to the public, but available if you have had a similar event: https://www.facebook.com/groups/241028905999497/ Severe adverse reaction to one 10mg pill of Lexapro (escitalopram) almost 5 years ago. I am attempting to share my experiences, thoughts and opinions about SSRI drugs and what happened to me. I live in Kentucky, United States. Please comment or send an email to discuss this issue. Lexapro, has ruined my life. One 10mg pill severely damaged my brain. 8 hours after taking the pill, I entered into a world of a neurological nightmare. I am afraid this happens more often than we know. I could have very easily been placed in a psyche-ward or accidentally killed myself the first few days after taking that pill. Then, no one would be able to tell my story. What happened........ After suffering a chronic sleep disorder for decades, I couldn't get more than 4 hours of sleep a night so I went to the doctor for some medical help. September 23rd 2006: The doctor prescribed Lexapro (10mg). So I took this pill having been reassured by frequent television adverstisements that it was safe. My doctor also acted as if these pills were harmless. I took the pill and went to sleep about noon. 8 hours later I woke to the most awful, strange, powerful inner sensations. I was also filled with a feeling of dread or horror. I had never experienced anything like this before and I couldn't believe it. It felt as if my brain was dying...... I jumped out of bed and ran around my house.... I couldn't stop moving or the sensations would get worse. Sheer horror! The symptoms: Many are similar to Serotonin Syndrome. Waves of nervous energy flowing through my body like painful electric shocks Inner tremor Mania Extreme pressure in head Couldn't lay down flat Extreme panic and fear...dread Sensations of my brain and body burning or sizzling, buzzing Intense disconnected feeling from reality High Fever (103) Flu-like symptoms Terrible headache Extreme nausea Waves of sensations throughout my body and skin Visual hallucinations Visual impairments Dizzy spells Unable to exercise much unable to tolerate caffeine, alcohol and other vitamins or medicines Akathisia (inability to stop moving) Panic Showering would hurt my skin Unable to lay down Dizziness Loud ringing in the ears (High frequency) Racing and violent thoughts BRAIN ZAPS (Immediate equilibrium interruption or disruption) Racing, uncontrollable thoughts unable to control emotions Inability to focus Unable to listen to music Unable to listen to music High fever Flu-like symptoms (exactly like the flu) Profuse sweating Unable to distinguish TV from reality Felt like being out of reality Anxiety Depression (due to circumstances) Hyper-sensitivity to almost everything Screaming upon waking I really didn't think I was going to survive. It has been over 4 years since then and I have had to deal with some of these symptoms, in varying degrees, since then. I made slow progress over the years but unfortunately I haven't recovered completely. Plus, since then I have been having unexplained strokes.

Discovered! Panic Attack Headaches and Migraines Linked to Panic Attack Disorders

04:06
http://www.PanicAttacksCure.org Panic disorder is different from the normal fear and anxiety reactions to stressful events in our lives. Panic disorder is a serious condition that strikes without reason or warning. Symptoms of panic disorder include sudden attacks of fear and nervousness, as well as physical symptoms such as sweating and a racing heart. During a panic attack, the fear response is out of proportion for the situation, which often is not threatening. Over time, a person with panic disorder develops a constant fear of having another panic attack, which can affect daily functioning and general quality of life. Panic disorder often occurs along with other serious conditions, such as depression, alcoholism, or drug abuse. What Are the Symptoms of Panic Disorder? Symptoms of a panic attack, which often last about 10 minutes, include: Difficulty breathing. Pounding heart or chest pain. Intense feeling of dread.Sensation of choking or smothering. Dizziness or feeling faint. Trembling or shaking. Sweating. Nausea or stomachache. Tingling or numbness in the fingers and toes. Chills or hot flashes. A fear that you are losing control or are about to die. Beyond the panic attacks themselves, a key symptom of panic disorder is the persistent fear of having future panic attacks. What Causes Panic Disorder? Although the exact cause of panic disorder is not fully understood, studies have shown that a combination of factors, including biological and environmental, may be involved. Abnormalities in the brain. Substance abuse. Abuse of drugs and alcohol can contribute to panic disorder. Major life stress. Stressful events and major life transitions, such as the death of a loved one, can trigger panic disorder. Panic disorder most often begins during late adolescence and early adulthood. It is twice as common in women as in men.How Is Panic Disorder Diagnosed? If symptoms of panic disorder are present, the doctor will begin an evaluation by performing a complete medical history and physical exam. Although there are no lab tests to specifically diagnose panic disorder, the doctor may use various tests to look for physical illness as the cause of symptoms. If no physical illness is found, you may be referred to a psychiatrist or psychologist, mental health professionals who are specially trained to diagnose and treat mental illnesses. Psychiatrists and psychologists use specially designed interview and assessment tools to evaluate a person for panic disorder. The doctor bases his or her diagnosis on reported intensity and duration of symptoms, including the frequency of panic attacks, and the doctor's observation of the patient's attitude and behavior. The doctor then determines if the symptoms and degree of dysfunction suggest panic disorder. A combination of the following therapies is often used to treat panic disorder. Psychotherapy (a type of counseling) addresses the emotional response to mental illness. It is a process in which trained mental health professionals help people by talking through strategies for understanding and dealing with their disorder. Therapy that helps a person learn to recognize and change thought patterns and behaviors that lead to troublesome feelings. Therapy also aims to identify possibly triggers for panic attacks. Medication . The anti-depressant drugs Paxil and Zoloft and anti-anxiety medications such as Xanax, Ativan, or Klonopin are used to treat panic disorders. Sometimes, heart medications (such as beta blockers) are used to help with anxiety. Relaxation techniques. When panic attacks continue after treatment has stopped, additional treatment may still help control and reduce panic attacks. In addition, relaxation techniques, such as breathing retraining and positive visualization, may help a person during an attack. Panic disorder can be successfully treated, and sufferers can go on to lead full and satisfying lives. With appropriate treatment, nearly 90% of people with panic disorder can find relief. Without treatment, panic disorder can have serious consequences and can severely impair quality of life. Complications of untreated panic disorder include. Avoidance. A person may discontinue any activities that seem to trigger a panic attack. This can make a normal work and home life nearly impossible. Anticipatory anxiety. This refers to anxiety that is triggered merely by thinking about the possibility of having an anxiety attack. Agoraphobia. This is the fear of being in places or situations in which an attack may occur, or from which escape would be difficult or highly embarrassing. This fear can drive people to avoid public places and crowds, and may even progress to the point that the person will not leave his or her home. About one-third of people with panic disorder develop agoraphobia. Claustrophobia.

Migraine? Chronic Sinusitis, Dizziness, Ear/Eye Pain/Pressure, Abnormal Hearing/Smell/Taste/Touch

04:48
Not yet well publicized in the general or medical communities, many chronic symptoms such as sinusitis, dizziness (or vertigo), ear pain, jaw pain, nasal blockage/stuffiness, facial pain/pressure, eye pain/pressure, tinnitus, abnormal or bad taste or smell, runny nose and many others may be migraine-related and therefore may be alleviated with the same treatment options as migraine headaches. Unfortunately, many patients and doctors alike are unaware of this connection. Because a relation to migraine disease is not usually suspected, these symptoms are often not treated properly. Many people receive antibiotics, allergy and other medications and occasionally surgery. These medicines may seem to be effective temporarily because the symptoms naturally disappear (as traditional migraines do) but then return again. Migraine disease is a condition that most commonly affects women. It may be affected by changes in estrogen levels. A new organization, the Association of Migraine Disorders has been created to get the word out and to help fund research in this important migraine-related area of neuroscience. Please visit our website to learn about the symptoms, causes and treatments of migraine disorders. There is a lot of helpful information on our site, and with it we hope to end the suffering of many patients who have been unaware of the possible connection of their symptoms to migraine disease. Migraines - More than a headache... ***The mission of the Associaiton of Migraine Disorders is to raise the medical and general public's awareness of this condition and to stimulate increased research in this area of neuroscience.*** MORE INORMATION: Migraine Disorders are a spectrum of neurologic conditions which may have a common genetic and physiologic cause. Although most people associate a "migraine" with a headache, the same underlying faulty nerves that cause this head pain can also affect those nerves that line our sinuses, teeth and ears. This hypersensitivity of the nervous system can interrupt the normal way that we see the world, maintain our balance, hear, smell and taste. This problem may be affecting other parts of the brain that control our body temperature and our mood, our ability to sleep, to think and to remember. It may be the same neuropathy that causes fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, cyclic vomiting. Think of this problem as a malfunctioning electrical relay switch. The information from sensory nerves is being distorted, or overly amplified, on its way to the brain. That neural error may be an inherited defect which comes and goes throughout life depending on changing factors, such as hormonal shifts. List of potential symptoms: migraine, atypical migraine, neuropathiy, dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, ataxia, abnormal smell, phantom smell, phantosmia, bad taste, abnormal taste, dysgeusia, sinusitis, sinus infections, sinus pain, nasal blockage, nasal stuffiness, nasal congestion, runny nose, rhinorrhea, facial pain, cheek pain, eye pressure, eye pain, facial pressure, difficulty driving, spinning, mal de debarquement, aphasia, allodynia, light sensitivity, auditory processing disorder, depression, sensitivity to touch and more...These are just some of the ones in the head and neck... Zoloft (Sertraline): Quitting Cold Turkey

12:53
I've seen a lot of other videos on the topic of quitting the SSRI antidepressant Zoloft (sertraline) but not many on successfully getting through the withdrawals and coming through the other side safely. I hope this video is reassuring to anyone out there who is going through the same dilemma. If you have any question please feel free to ask/ or share your own experience. I'll explain what led me to do this and I hope it isn't too rambling. I have been taking Zoloft since 2011 and just recently have been told that manufacturing of the drug has ceased until Jan 2016. I don't know about the rest of the world but in Australia it has become like something out of Mad Max, with people trying to track down the last supplies. I tried the generic brand which I have been told is exactly the same. But after a month of this I began feeling more depressed/ sad than I ever have and began suffering from insomnia and blurred vision. The last straw for me was when I told my doctor of these changes and all I got in return was a cocky-bullshit answer that I must be imagining these changes. ''Yeah, well doc, I don't really want to imagine wanting to killing myself everyday, so politely go fuck yourself''. So I tried tappering off them from 100mg to 25mg (maybe to steep) and started noticing the withdrawals after a day. After a few days of this I stopped them completely and the dizziness became a constant thing. Week 2 brought with it the numbness and brain zaps. With week 3 came the insomnia/ aching joints. At about a month of stopping nearly all the signs have gone away. I may notice the dizziness if I move or look too quickly but you get used to doing things slow. So this video is just me telling you the withdrawal symptoms I experienced. It is not advised to just completely stop any antidepressant but I figured I was worse on the generic so I wanted to stop more than anything. I want to try and see what I am normal for a few months. The most important thing is being in the right headspace to do such a thing. Only try and go off them if you think you are ready. In my situation I have realised that most of the time if I feel anxious it is because of my surroundings and not what is going on in my head. Also avoid people who make you feel terrible. The world is made up of mainly idiots so it is more likely they have a problem and you don't. At least you have made the steps to help yourself. If I ever relapse into really bad depression/anxiety like I know that I can always go back on Zoloft. By then I think Pfizer would have mined the ''missing ingredients'' they need to make Zoloft from Mars.

CBD Oil Side Effects Warning (Do Not Buy CBD Until You See This)

01:45
3 simple tips to follow before buying: 1. Always check the CBD purity, it should be 50% and more. 2. Choose products made in the US or Canada. Due to strict regulations this is your quality guarantee. 3. Do not expect to purchase quality and safe to use CBD oil for pennies. High quality CBD oil should cost at least $45-$50. Choose another product if that amount puts you into an uncomfortable situation financially. Brands that I trust and recommend: 1. Verified CBD Oil (http://verifiedcbdoil.com). This is probably the oldest brand of CBD I know. Tons of success stories and quality I have tested myself - these are the reasons I have been recommending this brand to my friends and family for years. The only downside is that due to their recent TV "fame" they are often out of stock and can be hard to get. Official website: http://verifiedcbdoil.com Benefits and Side Effects of CBD Oil Cannabidiol, or CBD as it is commonly known, is a very interesting chemical. And it is responsible for many people changing their views on marijuana use for medicinal purposes. While everyone has heard of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), not many are aware of CBD. The two chemicals are both contained in marijuana, but they serve very different purposes. While the THC in marijuana is will get you high, CBD is a chemical with many benefits from a medicinal point of view - and it does not have the same side effects on the body as THC. What are the Health Benefits of CBD Oil? The ingredient CBD has been used for many years to make several products. One of these products is CBD oil. According to many studies which have carried out on this product, there are many different health benefits associated with it. First and foremost, it can help people who are experiencing excessive nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy or some other type of medical treatment. It is also great at reducing the seizures some people get on a regular basis. Another benefit of CBD oil is how it helps combat inflammation and neuro-degenerative disorders. It is also great for anxiety and depression sufferers. So if you are suffering from one of these conditions, you may want to talk to your physician about the possibility of getting on CBD oil for a few months. CBD oil also contain various o nutrients like carbohydrates, amino acids, vitamins such as vitamin B1, B2, B6, D and E, trace minerals such as calcium, iron zinc, magnesium potassium, and several other compounds required by the human body for healthy functioning, such as chlorophyll, carotene, ketones, glycosides, nitrogen-based compounds, etc.. Unlike THC, CBD oil doesn't make you high. The CBD in these this product will not make you feel the same as the THC does. This is because THC is a psychoactive chemical whereas CBD is not. It does not act in the same manner when it comes into contact with your brain's pathways. It does not interfere with your psychological or psychomotor functions either. For those who want a simpler explanation: CBD oil is 100% safe and won't get you high! Are there Any Side Effects of CBD Oil? Whereas CBD oil has been proven safe for human consumption, some researches done on it have identified a possibility of side effects in patients taking the oil. One study which was published in 1886 in the International Journal of Neuroscience showed that CBD oil could cause some mild side effects in patients with dystonia. These side effects include dry mouth, hypotension, sedation, psychomotor slowing, and lightheadedness. However, there are no side effects which have been reported when CBD is taken in high doses. As you can see, you should not worry when taking CBD oil as its side effects are very mild. Buy CBD oil today and experience the many benefits associated with it. Cymbalta

23:23
According to the FDA Cymbalta may treat depression, diabetic related nerve pain, anxiety, fibromyalgia and low back pain. Also known as Duloxetine, the quality of evidence supporting the medicine unfortunately remains of modest to low quality. Actually some studies indicate no benefit when compared to the SSRIs such as Prozac, Zoloft and Lexapro. Similarly effectiveness in fibromyalgia and diabetic neuropathy appears unimpressive. Discontinuing Cymbalta may lead to a peculiar Discontinuation Syndrome associated with headache, dizziness, irritability, sleeplessness, tremor and lack of energy. Some people experience electrical shock like sensations referred to as “brain zaps.”

Zoloft Birth Defects Warning From FDA | Zoloft Lawsuit | Zoloft Lawyer | 1-800-656-4919

02:30
Zoloft Birth Defects Warning From FDA | Zoloft Lawsuit | Zoloft Lawyer | 1-800-656-4919 What Is Zoloft? Zoloft is a medication that is prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder obsessive-compulsive disorder. It is from a class of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Zoloft was first put on the market in 1991. It is the second-most commonly prescribed antidepressant in America. Zoloft Side Effects Zoloft is a very effective medication, but it does not come without side effects. Nausea is one of the most commonly reported side effects of this medication. In fact, 30 percent of patients report experiencing nausea while they take this medication. Seventeen percent of users experience diarrhea, dyspepsia and upper GI bleeding. It is estimated that 14 to 20 percent of people experience dry mouth while taking Zoloft. There was a study done that involved 26,005 people who use antidepressants. The results of the study showed that people who use antidepressants were 3.6 times more likely to experience gastrointestinal issues. They were also 4.1 times more likely to experience upper GI bleeding. Male patients who take Zoloft are at an increased risk for suffering sexual problems. Seventeen percent of male patients experience a decrease in sex drive. Six percent of males experience ejaculation problems. Headache, dizziness, tremor and fatigue are other common side effects that have been reported. Serious Side Effects Serious side effects are more rare and may include the following: Agitation Hallucinations Tremors Overactive reflexes Rigid muscles Irregular heartbeat Memory problems Shallow breathing Fever Liver failure Stomach bleeding Low sodium Diabetes Underactive thyroid Furthermore, women who take Zoloft during their pregnancy may be putting their babies at risk. Studies have shown that this medication can possibly lead to birth defects. This medication can be transferred to the baby through breastfeeding. However, it is unlikely for a nursing infant to suffer adverse effects from Zoloft. Why Do Doctors Prescribe Zoloft If It Can Cause Serious Side Effects? It is important to remember that only a small percentage of patients experience serious side effects while taking this medication. Additionally, doctors have to decide whether the benefits of a medication will outweigh the risks. If your doctor prescribes you Zoloft, then he or she feels that the benefits of the medication far outweigh the risks. However, the dangers of this medication are becoming increasingly known, which is why many people have chosen to file a Zoloft lawsuit. How To File A Lawsuit If you took this medication as prescribed and still suffered serious side effects, then you may be able to file a lawsuit. This is a topic that isn’t often discussed. There can be negative feeling “come down” effects from Acid. Although the experience may not be what you think it is. Does Marijuana Affect Mental Illness? | Marijuana

03:54
Watch more Marijuana Facts & Medical Marijuana videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/506384-Does-Marijuana-Affect-Mental-Illness-Marijuana Marijuana and Mental Illness There are three things to think about when it comes to marijuana and mental illness. 1. Can marijuana cause mental illness? 2. Can marijuana be used to treat mental illness? 3. Can the way our society treats marijuana itself cause mental illness? So let's take the first one: Can marijuana cause mental illness? Well, for a long time people have worried about this. Societies going back to 19th century have been concerned whether marijuana use can cause people to go insane. There was whole (?) madness where people really believed or were thought to believe that use of marijuana could lead to mania, homicidal mania specifically, where you go crazy and kill people. But every time that's been seriously looked at, studied by scientific bodies, they really couldn't find any kind of association with these mania syndromes. More recent studies are being done to look at specifically certain vulnerable populations like adolescents who have preexisting mental health problems. And it turns out that possibly we might be able to find a correlation with adolescents who use marijuana who have preexisting behavioral and psychological problems may be at a higher risk developing longer standing psychotic problems, but these associations are very weak. They are done through retrospective studies and you really can't do a controlled study to find that out. The problem with these studies is that it really confounds how the society views marijuana because it turns out that with all the law enforcement, all the messages that we get about marijuana, when you're going against that grain by using something that's both prohibited and taboo and stigmatized and illegal, that itself can cause psychological distress. It's difficult to tease that out from the actual substance itself. Now it turns out that marijuana has been shown in some studies to be associated with improved mental health in patients who are chronically mentally ill. There have been studies in chronic schizophrenia patients that those who are using cannabis or marijuana in some studies have longer lives, in some studies have higher levels of social functioning. That's all related to the fact that the system that marijuana binds to in our brain and nervous system is tied in very intimately to our cognitive functioning in our way that we approach the world and our ego construction. That's what that's about. A lot of people are excited about the use of compounds in marijuana like cannabidiol (CBD) to treat illnesses like schizophrenia and psychosis. Certainly there is interest in depression treatment, anxiety treatment, posttraumatic stress disorder. All of these things are exciting areas in the world of mental illness treatment with marijuana. Finally marijuana enforcement itself can be a trigger for mental illness because of the chronic distress of worrying about being prosecuted by law enforcement. I've met numerous patients and people who live in places where it's illegal to use marijuana even though it's medically okay at the state level, but the federal government saying it's illegal, and they are caught. This can cause really severe distressing symptoms. So that itself is all part of this social framework that we put marijuana into. So we have to be careful how we build those frameworks.

Antidepressants | Tapering Off | Withdrawal

05:48
Greetings from Berlin you guys! I finally made it :) So, withdrawal symptoms when quitting SSRIs include: - Anxiety - Depression and mood swings - Dizziness and balance problems, possibly vertigo - Electric shock sensations - Fatigue - Flu-like symptoms - Headache - Loss of coordination - Muscle spasms - Nausea - Nightmares - Tremors - Trouble sleeping - Vomiting ...And the list goes on. I have been struggling with brain zaps, decreased appetite and flu-like symptoms along with depersonalization and dizziness. The best recommendation I can give is to get lots of sleep, try and reduce stress as much as possible, eat healthy and drink loads of water. You might also want to reduce you physical activity or replace your usual excersize routine with a lighter one. If you feel too bad to tolerate the symptoms please contact your doctor, and also try to taper off your antidepressant gradually (your doctor will provide you with a scheme like this one: https://www.health.harvard.edu/diseases-and-conditions/how-to-taper-off-your-antidepressant) If you find yourself having suicidal ideations, thoughts or intentions please contact a help line: https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org Anyway, stay positive, healthy and happy! much love xx ___ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/a._fitz/ tumblr: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/annafitzgerald ___

It blocks some adrenergic auto and heteroreceptors, increasing serotonin release, and selectively antagonizes serotonin receptors in the central and peripheral nervous system. It also enhances serotonin neurotransmission and blocks the histaminergic and muscarinic receptors. Mirtazapine is not a serotonin or norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor but may increase serotonin and norepinephrine by other mechanisms of action. Side Effects: Constipation, dry mouth, weight gain, increase appetite, somnolence, sedation, sleepiness, weakness, distrurbance in thinking, peripheral edema, increased blood pressure. When Discontinuing Use: Mirtazapine and other antidepressants may cause a discontinuation syndrome upon cessation. A GRADUAL and SLOW reduction in dose is recommended. Effects of sudden cessation of treatment with mirtazapine may include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, vertigo, restlessness, irritability, decreased appetite, insomnia, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, flu-like symptoms such as allergies and pruritus, headaches and sometimes hypomania or mania. It can go so far as to cause suicidal thoughts, so please, be careful!! AKA not good!!! PLEASE always been under the care of a great doctor and NEVER stop taking a drug suddenly without guidance from your doctor. Some Drug Group Clusters: Mirtazapine falls under - NaSSA (Noadrenergic & Specific Serotonergic Antidepressant) SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) SNRIs (Serotonin-norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors)

ABILIFY® Aripiprazole‎ 1 Week Review + Side Effects

04:08
Don't forget to leave a like! Note: What I meant to say in the video is LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR, BUT do NOT take his advice to heart. Listen to yourself, your body, and your mind. Tell your doctor what is happening and keep in mind that he gets paid a lot no matter what he says. Also always get a second opinion. The more opinions/advice you have, the easier it will be for you to decide what is right for you. Aripiprazole, sold under the brand name Abilify among others, is an atypical antipsychotic. It is recommended and primarily used in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.[5] Other uses include as an add-on treatment in major depressive disorder, tic disorders, and irritability associated with autism.[6] According to a Cochrane review, evidence for the oral form in schizophrenia is not sufficient to determine effects on general functioning.[7] Additionally, because many people dropped out of the medication trials before they were completed, the overall strength of the conclusions is low.[7] Side effects include neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a movement disorder known as tardive dyskinesia, and high blood sugar in those with diabetes.[5] In the elderly there is an increased risk of death.[5] It is thus not recommended for use in those with psychosis due to dementia.[5] It is pregnancy category C in the United States and category C in Australia, meaning there is possible evidence of harm to the fetus.[5][8] It is not recommended for women who are breastfeeding.[5] It is unclear whether it is safe or effective in people less than 18 years old.[5] It is a partial dopamine agonist. Aripiprazole was developed by Otsuka in Japan. In the United States, Otsuka America markets it jointly with Bristol-Myers Squibb. From April 2013 to March 2014, sales of Abilify amounted to almost $6.9 billion.[9] POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, excess saliva/drooling, blurred vision, weight gain, constipation, headache, and trouble sleeping may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
