DIY "Drawers" for an SUV – SUV Camping/Vandwelling Gear Storage
I decided I wanted to make better use of the shelf space in the back of my Toyota RAV4. I was originally going to build slide-out drawers to put on top of the shelf, but I instead ended up simplifying the concept by just attaching bins to the top of the shelf to create "drawers." ** SUV RVing the Book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HYMKE2K/?tag=suvrving-20 (Affiliate link) ** The Blog: http://suvrving.com ** Instagram: http://instagram.com/suvrving ** FKB.me (My free Kindle book site): http://fkb.me Rockytop by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Artist: http://audionautix.com/ ---------- Other keywords: SUV RVing, SUV camping, SUV dwelling, vandwelling, vanlife, car camping

DIY Drawer less Drawer System for SUV from single sheet of Ply Wood for overlanding and camping
Full Build Guide: https://www.patreon.com/posts/simple-diy-with-20207465 DIY Drawer-less Overlanding Drawer System for SUV from single sheet of Ply Wood: Blog Post: Subscribe:https://www.youtube.com/c/AllTerrainFamily?sub_confirmation=1 Trip Report Blog: https://allterrainfam.com/ Stickers and SWAG: https://allterrainfam.com/shop/ Instagram Profile: https://www.instagram.com/allterrainfamily/ Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/AllTerrainFamily/ #allterrainfamily #overlanding #suvcamping #suvdrawersystem This is version 3 of an SUV Cargo Storage deck, and I think I’m done. For now… The first version was a deck platform above the cooler. That worked fairly well when loaded, but for daily driving having the deck that high wasn’t convenient. The second version was low, about 10.5 inches off the bottom. The cooler went on top as well as the dog and had room for more gear on top as well as underneath. With the low design, it was possible to have the dog sit on her pad on TOP of a couple Frontrunner Wolf boxes for a really efficient use of space. V2 saw the addition of the slide out table for preparing snacks and lunch on the trail as well as full on cooking if necessary. The table proved to be a really good design in function, the only problem was the CONSTANT RATTLING when the deck wasn’t loaded with a heavy cooler. You can get a full run-down of that build here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtDqSYoixAE&t=9s Now for V3 of the SUG Cargo Deck with Slide-Out Table. This one I made from 3/4 Sanded Pine Plywood and used the Kreg K5 Pocket Hole Jig for joinery. All the tools, materials and hardware is available at Home Depot. The wood build is probably pretty close to the mass of the metal system, given that the metal I used was thin wall steel, however the wood table is a lot heavier. That said, it was a lot easier to built, didn’t require a welder and grinding. I could probably make the wood deck a bit lighter by cutting out some portions of the sides, and I may do that at some point. But this design works really well and the table is really functional and doesn’t make a sound at all going down the road. Build List: Everbilt 1-1/2 in. x 36 in. Aluminum Angle with 1/8 in. DIY Drawer System for Jeep Wrangler, Camping, Overlanding
I wanted to build a rear cargo drawer system for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler 4door. I did quite a bit of research and found some really good info out there but not a ton out there specific to the Wrangler. I’m not an expert builder by any means. I enjoy it and can get by, but I’m no master carpenter. I took ideas I found from other online - videos and forum posts - and decided to jump in to the build. I figured I would document the process, not so much as a “how-to” video, but more as a “what-I-did” video. For any expert builders, this would be pretty simply. But for those out there, like me, hopefully this will give you an idea of what can be done and will give you ideas for your build. My dimensions and plans (some changed, FYI): https://jumpshare.com/v/V5nYTyQLNXnwi6XFhYPz For complete video on build of the slide-out table: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEFRc3WZdCk Below is the list of items I purchased online: - Rubber Flexible T-Latch: http://aofil.ms/amzrubberlatch - Rubber Flooring (for bottom of drawers): http://aofil.ms/amzdiamondrubber - Diamond Plated Rubber Mat (for top of box): http://aofil.ms/amzubbfloor - Drawer Slides - 24": http://aofil.ms/amzdrawerslides Here’s references for resources I relied on. Homemade Truck Bed Drawers
Recently we bought a new truck and I decided straight away I would build some drawers for the back. They came out great and will be perfect for keeping things organised, especially when camping. The drawer slides work very well and much cheaper than buying them, $230 a pair was the cheapest I could find for the size I needed. Hopefully I've shown enough here to help you build your own but if you need more info on this style of runner then you should find plenty with a search. We are about to set off on a family road trip and I finished these just in time! The bad news is we're going for two and a half weeks so there won't be a new video for a while. I'll get straight back to it as soon as we get home! ;) As always I'm happy to answer any questions. Camping Storage Bin - Our Journey :: Episode #18
Located in the mountains of Colorado. I was looking to store non-food items on my land so I didn't have to bring it up EVERY TIME I drove up up to the land. This was an easy solution to keeping "stuff" on my land. Is is a deck storage box, but it blends in with my land and love the "fake" wood grain. It was an easy assembly and I show that in this video, of me putting it together. Two people can site on it. Please note: not bear proof, don't store food in this container. Making a Cargo Storage Shelf in the Back of an SUV or Van (Vandwelling Tips)
I've long said that having a shelf in the back of an SUV is probably the single biggest improvement or modification you can make to your car camping setup. I've had and used one for a couple of years, but it was specifically made for my RAV4 (meaning that I couldn't be of much help when other people asked me how to make a shelf in the back of their SUV), and I felt that I could make an improved version that worked better for my needs. The result is the shelf shown in this video. If you haven't seen it already, check out this video where I make "drawers" for the top of the shelf: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ-PWmjKggg ** Kamchatka Gear (my online store): https://kamchatkagear.com ** SUV RVing the Book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HYMKE2K/?tag=suvrving-20 (Affiliate link) ** The Blog: http://suvrving.com ** Instagram: http://instagram.com/suvrving ** FKB.me (My free Kindle book website): http://fkb.me Joke of the video: I hate jokes about German sausages. DIY Jeep Drawer System for Overland, Camping, and Off Roading
I've spent many hours researching drawer systems but there wasn't anything in the market that fit my exact needs. I decided to just build one instead. This was my first time using a table saw! Luckily the drawers ended up looking decent and I still have all 10 fingers in tact. See pictures of the build on Instagram @OverlandLife https://www.instagram.com/overlandlife/ Thanks for watching and please subscribe. HOW TO BUY: This system is not for sale and I don't plan to build more to sell. However...if you want a superior design and much better build quality, my buddy Al Smith has a very similar drawer system available for purchase. In fact, his system was what inspired my build. High-End Custom Tacoma Storage System
Custom 19" high storage system for overlanding in combination with A.R.E. shell. COSTS Sliders about $300 Wood about $300 Latches, locks, carpet, bolts etc about $200 And about 3 days of labor with a wonderful friend based in Las Vegas for whom all credit is due. He doesn't do it for a living otherwise I'd send you his way. I have since gotten rid of airbags and gone with an add a leaf to handle weight. With larger tires and all that weight including shell and lack of aerodynamicness I'm down about 1.5-3mpg on average from stock.

This Video is a walkthrough of my homemade battery box. It runs our Waeco CFX65L for around 3 days off the battery box alone and indefinitely when connected to solar. 1x 120AH AGM Deep cycle battery 1x Thunder 20 A DC/DC Charger (highly recommend! good value for money and a great alternative to ctek and redarc units) 1x Dual USB charging ports 3x Ciga sockets for powering the waeco and camp lights 1x volt meter and push button switch to turn on and off. 2x Grey Anderson 50A Plugs (output but can also be used as input if using a regulated panel) 1x Red Anderson 50A Plug for unregulated solar input note that red anderson plugs will only fit red, this prevents someone from connecting the solar to the wrong plug. The box itself is made from 12mm structural ply and covered with marine ply for looks. we are very happy with the Thunder 20A DC to DC Charger and could not recommend it enough. I have used both Redarc and CTEK units in the past and these are definitely better value for money. Disclaimer: I am not an auto electrician but am more than happy to assist anyone trying to replicate this battery box, if there is enough interest in a more detailed video explaining all the components I will upload a second video.

$150 bike camper: DIY micro mobile home (downloadable plans)
Paul Elkins fell for micro-camping in 2002 when he toured the country in his cabover “stealth camper”. Sure he could make something more affordable, this year he began building a nomadic micro-shelter based on the Airstream design. [Downloadable plans: http://www.elkinsdiy.com/plans/ ] Using 4 recycled fluted-plastic campaign signs from a recent election, a $20 secondhand bike, 6 pine boards ($1 at Home Depot), screws, Duct tape and zip ties, he built his latest micro mobile shelter for only $150. Calling it a “micro Airstream bike camper”, it’s a 60-pound “home away from home”, complete with butane stove, bread-pan sink, counter, food storage shelving, clothes-storage bins, LED lighting, bed, windows, pee jug, bubble insulation, stereo with MP3 player, and a skylight made out of a 1 gallon plastic tub. Our Crazy Experience Building & Sleeping in an Igloo! - Winter Camping Snow Fort
Mat had the idea to build an igloo (a.k.a. iglu or igluvijaq in the Inuit language) after two weeks of watching snow pile up in my parents backyard in northern Ontario while we were visiting for the holidays. It sounded like a fun project and since we love small spaces, we decided to build a tiny snow fort and sleep in it. We watched a bunch of YouTube videos to learn how to build an igloo, and when the weather finally warmed up (transforming the fluffy snow into compacting snow) we got started. It took us three days to build. On the first day we got organized and made sure we had everything we needed to build the snow shelter: snow pants, gloves, a saw and knife, a ladder, bins to make the snow blocks, rope, sleeping bags, lanterns, etc., and we made 50 snow blocks in about 2 hours using a couple of plastic storage bins to compact and shape snow into building blocks. On the second day we measured and marked out the circle for the igloo using rope and then we started building the igloo in one continuous spiral wall. Apparently this is the traditional way of making an igloo. The spiral is supposed to make the structure stronger and make it easier to build because each new block is resting on the one below it and the one behind it. As the angle of the wall becomes more and more steep, these two anchor points help hold new blocks in place. Once the wall of the igloo became too high to step over, Mat stayed inside to build the igloo and fill cracks with snow, and I stayed on the outside to make more blocks (we needed way more than 50 blocks), fill cracks on the outside, turn the cameras on and off, and run around getting water, dry gloves, etc. By the time it got dark, the igloo was complete and it was time for Mat to cut a small hole in the side of the igloo to get out. The weather was warm (+4 degrees Celsius) so the snow was melting and getting a bit slushy and we didn’t think it was safe to sleep in it right away. We decided to wait 24 hours so that the structure could solidify. On the third day, we built a small entrance to block the wind and to reinforce the doorway. We also set up the inside to get it ready to sleep in. We put a tarp on the snow floor to protect our sleeping bags from getting wet and then we layered 4 sleeping mats and 4 sleeping bags to make a warm and cozy nest for ourselves. We also had a couple of lanterns and a thermometer to keep an eye on the temperature. The night we slept in the igloo, the temperature was approximately -10 degrees Celsius outside (14 degrees Fahrenheit) but it was about 7 degrees warmer inside the igloo. We were warm and cozy inside our sleeping bags and only our noses were cold. The only negative thing about winter camping in the igloo was that I woke up in the middle of the night and started to feel claustrophobic. If we had to do it again, I think we’d also build it to be a bit bigger, and maybe put in a small window so that it would feel a bit less claustrophobic inside. While researching and planning our igloo building project, we came across some interesting information that I wanted to share because it turns out that igloo is not the correct spelling nor is it the most accurate term for the structure. From Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igloo): "Although igloos are stereotypically associated with all Inuit, they were traditionally associated with people of Canada's Central Arctic and Greenland’s Thule area. The Inuit language word iglu (plural igluit) can be used for a house or home built of any material, and is not restricted exclusively to snowhouses (called specifically igluvijaq, plural igluvijait), but includes traditional tents, sod houses, homes constructed of driftwood and modern buildings." Last but not least, a huge thank you to my parents for letting us use their backyard (and their tools, and their winter gear, and their sleeping bags!) to make this project possible. Thanks also to my brothers family for lending us their camping mats!! And thank YOU for watching! Teardrop Tongue Box Construction on the "Camp EZ 5945" - Part 1
Subscribe to keep up with the Camp EZ 5945 build progress. This video is an overview of building a wood tongue box for the Camp EZ teardrop camper. During construction, I learned that even thin Baltic birch is strong enough to warp a lightweight lid frame. So, I re-built the lid frame with thicker side rails. I also learned that it's easier to fasten the lid sheeting to the curved front side of the frame first!!! Before I install the aluminum skin and hardware on the box, I'll get a total weight of the camper (when the build is almost complete) just to make sure the tongue weight with the wood box is within the 10-15% range. If the tongue is too heavy, I may have to go with a lighter option for the box like a DEE ZEE triangular box. As for now, I'll continue with the box build. For more updates on the build, check out my Facebook page at: facebook.com/campezteardrop. You can also find Camp EZ progress updates on Instagram under: mfosterphotography.

8 Fallout 76 Tips And Tricks To Conquer The Wasteland
Fallout 76 doesn’t explain many of its ideas, so why not try our tips and tricks to survive the Appalachian wasteland? This Fallout 76 guide reveals how to work with the stash limit, how to get and keep Power Armor, how to get easy weapon mods and the best way to work with perks. You’ll be ruling the wasteland in no time. While you're here, why not subscribe to Rock Paper Shotgun? Just click here: https://bit.ly/2FuyF1D These are the tips and tricks that have made Fallout 76 more fun to play - a better flow of weapons mods lets you build the best weapons; a better choice of armor mods keeps you alive for longer and dealing with Fallout 76 stash problem - the stingy stash limit - means you have more room to play around with everything you find. If you keep hearing that your stash box full, this should help out. We’ve even got a sneaky trick for crushing a massive set of Power Armour into a very small space, making it easy to store any high level Power Armor you find in the wasteland. Our guide shows you how. I’ve included a couple of quality of life tweaks, too, including how to use Fallout 76 fast travel more efficiently to save caps for the things you want to spend them on, and how to squeeze more variety out of limited perk card spaces. It’s all about selecting the best perk cards for each situation - I’ll explain how in our tips. I also talk a bit about how I like to explore and how you can get across the map without using up many health items. There’s no out and out Fallout 76 cheats, but I’m hoping this Fallout 76 walkthrough will help beginners. I also cover some other Fallout 76 questions: how to pick up the camp; how to get wood; how to cure mutations; how to keep valuable mutations; where to find good guns, how to turn on your flashlight (important but easy to miss) and what happens when you die (and why it isn’t the end of the world). I should note that these tips and tricks are aimed at people who have played through the early missions in the game - doing that unlocks some plans and items, letting you focus on enjoying the wider universe. If you have suggestions of your own Fallout 76 tips and tricks, please share them in the comments. I’d love to hear your thoughts. And if you enjoyed our Fallout 76 beginner’s guide, why not subscribe to the channel for more in-depth Fallout 76 coverage to come. We’re still sniffing out useful wisdom at the moment and will share more.
