Killing One Bird with Three Stones | Aja Molinar | TEDxWichitaStateUniversity

13:27
"Killing One Bird with Three Stones" addresses the invasion of cell phones in our private lives, and how face to face communication is threatened by cell phone interruptions. With our fast-paced lifestyles and rapidly advancing technologies, we sometimes forget to stop and think about how our technology is affecting us. Aja is a junior at Wichita State University majoring in Psychology. She is a member of the McNair Scholars Program, and plans on applying to doctoral Clinical Psychology programs in the fall, where she would like to focus on anxiety and depression. With the advisory of the McNair Scholars Program and her mentor, she is currently researching differences in perceptions toward cell phone interruptions, and how anxiety may play a role in that perception. Apart from conducting research, her inspiration for psychology is stimulated through volunteering. She has volunteered through Amedisys Hospice and the Mental Health Association as a Compeer friend, in which she provides companionship for an adult living with mental illness. The friendship obtained through Compeer has helped secure her enthusiasm for helping others and has shaped her goal of becoming licensed to practice psychology. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

Remembering cancer survivors and its victims

01:40
Volunteers have a lighthearted and purposeful mood while setting up for an event they hope will attract dozens and raise more than $40,000 for the American Cancer Society. "Most of the money we make goes to patients and research," says Sharon Vandenbos, chair of the event. She's been involved in the Relay for Life in Brooklyn Center for twenty-one years. She volunteers to remember the lives of two special friends, a brother and his wife, all lost to cancer. "When you walk around here and see the names, people lose it." Vandenbos is referring to the luminaries that are set up along the track, each inscribed with the name of a loved one who survived a battle with cancer or lost the battle. A ceremony is held to honor their fight. "The luminary ceremony is meant to tug at people's hearts," says Vandenbos. Coolsculpting mt laurel nj, Sandra DePadova Elder, MD, Elder Dermatology

00:41
http://elderdermatology.com/ Sandra DePadova Elder, MD, director of the Skin Rejuvenation Center brings 20 years of clinical and research experience, as well as several publications in dermatology and laser surgery to her practice. Dr. Elder also holds a position as clinical assistant professor of dermatology at MCP Hahnemann University. Her practice includes general adult and pediatric dermatology, skin cancer diagnosis and surgery and cosmetic dermatology. What is CoolSculpting? CoolSculpting is a patented, non-invasive, clinically proven procedure to selectively reduce unwanted fat through an innovative cooling method. Cleared by the FDA, CoolSculpting gently cools the areas to be treated to induce a natural, controlled elimination of fat cells without harming surrounding tissue. Results are dramatic and remain stable. What are the benefits of CoolSculpting? Procedure is non-invasive and requires no downtime. Patient can resume daily activities including work and excerise, immediately following the treatment. CoolSculpting is completely safe. Patients sit comfortably during the procedure and can use their laptop, watch tv or even nap during the procedure. Our physician is on site at all times. It's convenient. Depending on how many areas are being treated during one day, patients should expect to be in the office an hour for each area treated. Many patients come during their lunch hour and can go back to work right after. The results are significant. Clinical studies conducted by the developers of CoolScuplting, ZELTIQ Aesthetics, patients are seeing about a 20-25% reduction in fat in the areas treated after just one treatment. Results will be seen within 2-3 months post procedure. Some may opt for additional treatments in the same area. What does the CoolSculpting procedure involve? To begin the procedure, a non-invasive applicator that has already been fit to size is placed on the area to be treated. The system slowly draws in the tissue to be treated and begins delivering a controlled amount of cooling specifically targeted to the underlying fat, leaving the surface of the skin unaffected. The increased amount of cooling is brought to a certain tempature to begin the natural removal of fat cells. Is it effective? The results are incomparable to other fat reduction techniques. Patients start to see a result as soon as 2 to 3 weeks following the procedure, with the most dramatic results occuring over a period of 2 to 3 months. The results are natural-looking without the recovery time of surgical procedures. Patients will see permanent results as long as proper diet and excerise regimen remain constant. Who is a good candidate? CoolSculpting is not intended to replace a healthy diet and/or an excerise routine for overweight patients. The best candidates for this procedure are those individuals who are close to their ideal body weight, eat well and exercise regularly, but have pockets of fat they can't get rid of (commonly known as "muffin tops or love handles"). This procedure is excellent for patients who want surgery-like results, but do not want to go under the knife and experience the downtime. Call our office today and schedule a complimentary body analysis with Elder Dermatology to see if this procedure is right for you! Phone:856.596.3393 Office / Contact Location: Elmwood Business Park 771 Route 70 East Suite D-150 Marlton, NJ 08053 856.596.3393 The center is conveniently located in Marlton, NJ, just 12 minutes from Philadelphia, PA.

Baldness treatment: Cure for gray hair and baldness may have been found by accident - TomoNews

06:13
DALLAS — Scientists researching tumors may have accidentally found the cure for gray hair and baldness. A group of researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center have identified two proteins, KROX20 and stem cell factor, which are responsible for hair loss and pigmentation in hair. Through experiments on mice, they discovered that hair shafts turn white when stem cell factor is depleted from hair cells. Hair loss is observed when KROX20 is removed from hair cells. “With this knowledge, we hope in the future to create a topical compound or to safely deliver the necessary gene to hair follicles to correct these cosmetic problems,” Dr. Lu Le, an associate professor of dermatology UT Southwestern, told the Wichita Eagle. Researchers will continue to study whether the two proteins stop working as people get older, which could also help explain why people age in general.

DeKalb Medical Physicians Group: Top Doctors at Gynecologic Oncology Specialists of Atlanta

03:20
DeKalb Medical Physicians Group Gynecologic Oncology Specialists of Atlanta – A state-of-the-art practice within DeKalb Medical’s North Decatur Campus specializing in Gynecologic Oncology. Two of metro-Atlanta’s top nine doctors in the field of gynecologic oncology as recognized by their peers and Atlanta® Magazine form the physician team at Gynecologic Oncology Specialists of Atlanta or GOSA. Joseph Boveri, M.D., and Cyril Spann, M.D., created the practice in 2013 with DeKalb Medical’s Physician’s Group after being professional colleagues and friends for over 15 years. Gynecologic Oncology Specialists of Atlanta offers two locations: one at 2675 North Decatur Road, and the second at 5430 Glenridge Drive in Sandy Springs. The physicians and their staff do all they can to take the stress out of a possible cancer diagnosis and the treatment to follow. “When a patient is given a diagnosis by their primary care physician that she might have a cancer or a mass, and calls us, we get her in the next day if possible,” said Dr. Boveri. Compassionate care follows that first phone call all the way through the patient’s treatment process. Dr. Spann says, “we have a wonderful front office staff, an attentive chemotherapy nurse, and a team of nurses second to none. We also regularly consult with a multi-specialty team of specialists with DeKalb Medical’s Cancer Center to provide the best care possible to our patients.” When women need treatment and a plan for managing a gynecologic malignancy, GOSA’s doctors and staff aim to be supportive, informative and restorative. Patients are able to promptly obtain a full range of diagnostic tests, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI and ultrasound at any of the DeKalb Medical facilities that are most convenient. When urgent medical care by a specialist is necessary, the team here can facilitate appointments and referrals for patients to one of the more than 775 physicians on the DeKalb Medical staff. Noni Juice Health Benefits

01:17
http://www.superfoodhealthyliving.com/article-Marine-Phytoplankton.html Since cancer became one of the leading killers of people around the world, people have been looking for ways to stop the spread of this terrible disease. Hundreds of lives are lost each day to a different type of cancer, and once diagnosed, most people are willing to attempt all sorts of alternative treatments to fight the disease that has infected their bodies. Many testimonials have reported positive Noni Juice health benefits. There have been a number of different studies showing this particular Noni Juice health benefit may have some real truth to it. The Cancer Research Center of Hawaii has spent the last two years studying the Noni Juice health benefits with regard to cancer. The findings are not yet complete, but preliminary results look quite promising. Cancer patients who have tried all other courses of action to no avail have been recruited to participate in the study. For this study, Noni Juice is being used in capsule form. The University of Hawaii has just begun the first phase of a massive cancer research study involving Noni. The study will also examine other tropical plant uses on islands throughout the South Pacific. A 1999 study suggested that Noni Juice helped to stop the growth of tumors. The study was completed on mice with tumors. A regular dose of Noni Juice injected directly into the tumor suggested that the growth was significantly slowed over a period of six months. These Noni Juice studies, suggest what native South Pacific islanders have thought for years - Noni Juice may help with all sorts of medical applications. http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/glytamins.html Mandurah, Victoria Russia, Moscow Al Hayrah, United Arab Emirates, Al Hayrah, UAE Topeka, Kansas Argentina, Buenos Aires City Shreveport, Louisiana Hungary, Budapest Uruguay, Montevideo Comoros, Moroni (on Grande Comoro) Wichita Falls, Texas http://www.superfoodhealthyliving.com/products.html

2.5cm Height growth in 3 days by Nadipathy treatment

01:16
HEIGHT TREATMENT IN NADIPATHY Human height is a characteristic that is measured in quantity, and is controlled by multiple genes and environmental factors. In most cases those genes they inherit from their parents, as well as general health and nutrition, during their years of growth. Illness (or) poor nutrition during childhood (or) being small (or) premature at birth may mean children do not reach their full potential adult height. NORMAL GROWTH: The fastest period of growth is before birth, with the baby growing from almost zero to a length of about 50cm in nine months. This speed falls after birth with an average growth of 5.5 cm per year at 8 year old. During puberty, growth speeds up again. This is called the pubertal growth. Before puberty, boys and girls grow at similar speeds, but during puberty boys grow more than girls. The average height of an adult means 14 cm taller than the average height of an adult woman. Bones increase in length because of growth plates in the bones called epiphyses. As puberty, progresses the growth plates mature and at the ends of puberty, they fuse and stop growing. The whole of the Skelton does not stop growing at the same time hands and feet stop first, then arms and legs, with the last area of growth being the spine. Growth slows down and stops, when a child has gone all the way through puberty and has reached an adult stage of development. This means that growth does not stop at a particular age, but children who are early developers will stop growing before late developers. After the growth plates fuse, there is no more increase in height, and we all then shrink gradually as we get older. The new born baby having 300 bones, when the child mature to an adult person it comes to 206. BONE GROWTH IS MAINLY REGULATED BY THESE HORMONES: 1. Growth hormone made in the pituitary gland, which is the most important factor to increase height. 2. Thyroid hormone also regulate the metabolic activities, it maintains calcitonin hormone to maintain calcium levels in our body. 3. Sex hormones, testosterone (or) estrogens which are important for growth during puberty. Many medicines are available in market to increase the height. Most of the medicines are depend on intake of high calcium levels in the body. Getting to much calcium can cause constipation; it might also interfere with the body’s ability to absorb iron and zinc. In adults too much calcium (from dietary supplements but not food) might increase the risk of kidney stones. Some studies show that people who consume high amounts of calcium might have increased risks of prostate cancer and heart disease. Nadipathy treated first time in World to gain 100% height within 1-4 treatments. People stop growing at 18. Studies show that people continue growing well in to their twenties at a much slower rate but they do grow. According to our research, most people have nutritional problem& hormonal in-balance is the main reason to their stunted growth. Once the pituitary gland/thyroid gland is activated, we see the positive results within 10 minutes of our treatment. If any genetic history person has the stunted growth, he/she have the ability to increase height in 7 – 17 of their age. We using acupuncture, acupressure, marma, Vedic therapy, roping therapy, exercise therapy, yoga therapy, magnet therapy, seed therapy, cupping therapy, reflex therapy, beach sand therapy &some natural therapies to increase the maximum height. It is the safe treatment with 0% side effects that need to increase their height. UVM is one of the 21 sites taking part in the ABCD study, one of the largest child development studies ever attempted. Neuro imaging is a big part of the study. To be eligible, they had to meet stringent technology requirements. It was important to have state-of-the-art MRI protocols including MultiBand SENSE. They are imaging six times faster for fMRI and 3 times for diffusion imaging with a relatively small impact on SNR for such large acceleration factors.
