Step 3: Pick a date Pick a date to begin your new lifestyle. Be sure to avoid overly stressful times. Once you've picked a date, stick with it. Step 4: Evaluate Evaluate your progress and your goals. Reevaluate your initial goals if necessary. Maybe things are too easy -- you can bump up your exercise routine. Or maybe you need a few more calories in your daily diet than you originally estimated. Whatever it is, be flexible with yourself. Tip Don't beat yourself up if you have a setback. Setbacks are part of changing your lifestyle. Just get back on your plan. Step 5: Focus on health Focus on improving your health. Losing weight is great, but being healthy is fantastic. Look at your new lifestyle as a healthy lifestyle that you will live longer to enjoy. I have decided that I want to try and loose another stone.Down to my goal weight of 13 stone. Which will take me down to the weight I was just before I have Tommy, four years ago. However, I am aware my body is different, and I have had two beautiful babies so my expectations of a pre-baby body is not the goal. The goal is to be healthy and happy, be able to shop confidently and have the option of wearing my thin jeans. Maybe I'll get there, maybe I won't, but I am happy with the journey and have no pressure on myself. Are you working towards a goal? I would love to hear about how your finding it. I am really enjoying sharing this experience. It is helping me to stay on track. As well as making me more positive and happy about my body image. Throughout my teen years I yo-yo dieted, and in my late teens I went from a size 26 jeans down to a size 14!! This was one of the best things I did, for my body and my mind. Since then I have had two beautiful children and gone up and down with my pregnancy weight. When my youngest (Emme) was 6 months old I decided it was time to start trying to be healthy again. That was when I joined Weight Watchers. Since January I have lost 3 stone in weight, and completed a 0-5k, 10 week running course. However, as we all know, it is easy to get complacent and forget to log food. Therefore, I wanted to give myself a ‘kick up the bum’ and do weekly vlogs recording my progress, along with some of my favourite meals and tips for how I am sticking with Weight Watchers. How To Set Weight Loss Goals (Science-Backed Tips)

It might seem a pretty simple question with an obvious answer however there's a few tricks you can do apply to increase your chances of success. Key points: 1 - You wanna set a goal range instead of a specific number as a target. Research shows that setting a range such as 1-3 lbs per week results in more weight loss than just aiming at 2 lbs / week. And not only that, the participants in this specific study were more motivated to go on a diet again. The goal range is more flexible, and on those days when you're not feeling like 100% you can still get to that lower end of the goal. And on those days when you wanna go "all-out" there's the high-end goal. It tends to get us out of the "all or nothing" mindset into more of a flexible approach. Setting low and high end targets for any type is goal is highly recommended. i.e. For macros you wanna set a 10 gram range for protein / carbs and about 5 grams range for fat. As well for calories 100 more or less per day won't make much difference in the long run but it will give you the much needed room for flexible dieting. 2 - You can triple your changes of achieving a goal by practicing implementation intention. What this means is that instead of having a vague goal such as "I wanna get in better shape." or "I wanna lose some weight." you want to have very specific goals (ranges) as well as break down goals into very specific actions. This will give you an idea what to focus on. And when you have the actions listed you wanna to schedule them across the week to a very specific time and place where the action is going to happen. Once you remove the vagueness it instantly becomes clear what you need to do to achieve a goal. As well as now you can pre-plan your decisions making you less prone to decision fatigue. 3 - A healthy weight loss target is determined by the amount of body fat you currently have.
