Because of this, these people will need to go on a gluten free diet. But these aren't the only people going on such a diet. People who want to lose weight can also go on a gluten free diet. Here are some things that you can do to go gluten free for weight loss: -Avoid anything gluten-free: Hopefully quite obvious. Foods such as plain meat, fish, fruits & vegetables, dairy products, legumes, fats and oils are all essentially gluten-free. When it comes to sources of carbs like breads, cereals and pastas, you will need to read the packaging labels carefully to ensure that it doesn't contain wheat based products or other gluten containing products. -Learn how to tell the difference between foods with gluten and those that are gluten free: There are 4 ways to determine if a food product is gluten free or not, 1. Foods that are naturally gluten free like unprocessed meat, fruits and vegetables 2. Foods that have a crossed grain or similar logo 3. Foods with labels that state 'gluten-free' 4. Foods that are made with gluten free ingredients -Cook using gluten-free ingredients: Since gluten is what makes ingredients bind together, you will need to find a suitable gluten-free replacement such as xanthan gum, guar gum powders, gelatine and psyllium husks. You can find these ingredients from health food stores, celiac organisations and some supermarkets. If you do not want to bake or cook from scratch, you can also find ready-made gluten free baking powder, flour mixes and pastries from your general supermarket. Although there is no scientific reason as to why removing gluten from one's diet can help you lose weight, the theory behind it is that by eliminating wheat and starch products, it prevents your body from producing high levels of insulin. Because insulin levels are controlled, blood sugar levels are sufficient and you will not experience hunger so readily that would otherwise tempt you to reach out for a carbohydrate filled snack, like a muffin. Since you're not having to eat so often, this leads to reduced calorie intake and thus weight loss. Before going on a gluten-free diet, consult your doctor or nutritionist to work out the best lifestyle plan for your needs. The bottom line is that you should be eating whole, organic, fresh foods like vegetables, lean meats, nuts, cheese and grains (gluten-free ones, if you're going on the diet) to improve your health. Regular exercise will also help you in your journey to losing weight. The Paleo diet is a gluten free, high protein, low glycemic diet. No grains or legumes like rice, wheat, barley, rye, oats or soy beans are allowed. As it is also a dairy free diet, coconut products like coconut oil, coconut butter and coconut milk can replace regular milk products. Nuts and seeds are fine, so that means nut oils, butters and milk can be eaten as part of the Paleo diet. But peanuts are legumes, so peanut butter and sate sauces are a no-no! Almond butter, cashew butter or any other nut butter is a delicious substitute for peanut butter in sandwiches or for peanuts in a sauce recipe. But they are high in fat, carbs and calories so moderation is the key. Same goes for bananas, avocado and sweet potato. Too much of these will make you gain weight. Refined sugars can be replaced with natural sweeteners like coconut sugar. So...what can you eat? Well, you can eat high protein foods like grass fed meat, eggs, fish and fowl; lots of organic vegetables, fruit and a small amount of nuts. Now, let's forget the usual 2-veg-1-meat style Paleo and explore paleo-asian meal options. Asian diets are largely gluten free and dairy free. So that's half the battle won. Let's look at the all-time favorite Japanese cuisine. Forget the sushi, tempura and the wheat udon noodles. Sashimi, salad and meat seaweed hand rolls, egg mayonnaise, wasabi which is just horse radish paste and shirataki noodles are paleo friendly. Shirataki noodles are made from elephant yam and are gluten free and carbohydrate free. These noodles can be used in place of regular noodles or pasta in paleo recipes. lose 5 kgs in a month with gluten free indian chapati/roti. this 100% gluten free multigrain roti/flatbread is easy to make and helps in weight loss and weight management. the gluten free flour mix can be easily made at home and stored for up to a month and this gluten free flour can be included in diabetic diet. I have used tapioca flour also known as tapioca starch in this recipe to help make this gluten free roti super soft and tasty. You can also use arrowroot powder instead of tapioca flour. Having just two gluten free rotis will make you feel fuller as they are rich in fibre, vitamins, and minerals. These rotis will also help to keep your energy up and also helps to stay warm in the winter. Winter diet for weight loss can be made nutrient dense with this weight loss roti. Ingredients: Homemade multigrain gluten free mix: 3/4 cup (check below for the recipe link) Tapioca flour/Arrowroot powder/flour: 1/4 cup Hot water: 1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp Pink Himalayan salt as needed 1/4 tsp desi ghee on each roti, do not skip desi ghee as desi ghee helps in the absorption of vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins like A, E, D, K. ------ Add gluten free flour mix and tapioca flour mix into a bowl along with salt. Mix well and then add in the hot water little by little and mix well with a wooden spoon. Allow it to cool down. Transfer the cooled dough to a work surface and knead to a soft dough dusting with the gluten free flour mix. Pinch of lemon sized balls from the dough and make rotis as shown in the video.
