visit http://fumix.info/diabetes-cure to know more -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- National diabetes association Formed in 1940, the ADA was founded by 28 physicians.[2] During its first 30 years, the Association limited its membership to physicians, health professionals and corporations. In 1970, the Association underwent a reorganization during which membership was expanded to include general members. Now the ADA is a volunteer-driven organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, with about 90 local offices across the United States.[3] The mission of the ADA is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.[1] To fulfill this mission, the Association funds research, publishes scientific findings, provides information and other services to people with diabetes, their families, health professionals and the public. The Association is also actively involved in advocating for scientific research and for the rights of people with diabetes.[1] The Association acts on its mission through a number of critical programs and activities that are directed to a broad range of constituents, including consumers, research scientists, health care professionals, corporations and communities. In 1994, the Chronicle of Philanthropy, an industry publication, study showed that the American Diabetes Association was ranked as the 18th "most popular charity/non-profit in America" from over 100 charities researched with 33.8% of Americans over the age of 12 choosing Love and Like A Lot for the American Diabetes Association.[4] On June 1, 2015, the Association welcomed a new CEO, Kevin L. Hagan. Hagan came from the international relief organization Feed the Children, which he had led for about three years. Fund-raising[edit] The ADA is America's leading 501(c)3 nonprofit charity providing diabetes research, information and advocacy.[5] The ADA raises most monies themselves and their overall fundraising expenses are 26%, with 74 cents of every dollar raised being used for research and programs.[6] However, in the past the organization has engaged telemarketers at very large costs. In one instance, the ADA entered into contract with InfoCision, a telemarketing firm that works closely with nonprofits, whereby only 15% of the expected funds raised would be given to the ADA with the other 85% being kept by the telemarketing firm. Furthermore, the telemarketers were instructed to lie to prospective donors regarding how much of their donation will go to the ADA.[7][8] When questioned by NBC's Lisa Myers about this campaign, a representative from the ADA expressed no regrets and stated that the program was not misleading. As for what the ADA's response would be to donors who feel duped, the representative said that the ADA would say "thank you for the gift, it's making a difference, every single penny makes a positive impact." [9] This particular campaign represented 2.5% of the Association's total revenue in 2011, and through it, the ADA reached 2 million homes with important diabetes information. type 2 diabetes - National Diabetes Week 2018

00:45
In our 50th year, Diabetes Queensland asks for your help to promote public awareness of all types of diabetes, the symptoms of diabetes and why a timely diabetes diagnosis makes a big difference. 'It's about time' takes up our warning in 2017 that more than 100,000 Queenslanders have #type2#diabetes but don't know it. We want everyone to know about type 2, check for type 2 and diagnose type 2 early. 'It's about time' identifies the sudden onset of #type1diabetes and that any delay in a type 1 diagnosis increases the risk of the medical emergency of diabetic ketoacidosis. The National Diabetes Prevention Program: Curbing the Epidemic in New York State

05:14
Nearly 79 million American adults are estimated to have prediabetes—a condition also known as borderline diabetes. If left unchecked, diabetes is expected to affect one out of three American adults by 2050. As part of its efforts to combat the diabetes epidemic in New York State, NYSHealth, in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health Diabetes Prevention and Control Program and the Alliance of New York State YMCAs, implemented the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program (Y-DPP) in 10 regions of New York State in 2010. Adapted from the National Diabetes Prevention Program, the Y-DPP is a 16-week, community-based program delivered by the YMCA that helps participants with prediabetes make modest lifestyle changes and can reduce their risk of developing the disease by more than 50%. The program has been found to be as effective as the original model, with similar weight loss goals achieved and sustained over time. In this video, NYSHealth Senior Program Director Jacqueline Martinez Garcel discusses the magnitude of the diabetes problem in New York and how the Y-DPP is helping to reverse the epidemic. The video also shows the impact the Y-DPP has had on the health of New Yorkers through the personal stories shared by graduates of the program.

Managing Gestational Diabetes

16:12
Managing Gestational Diabetes Although gestational diabetes that is not well controlled can lead to problems for both you and your baby, blood glucose levels can be managed throughout your pregnancy to reduce the risk of these potential problems. Managing gestational diabetes involves healthy eating, regular physical activity, daily blood glucose monitoring, regular antenatal checks and, for some women, medications. After the delivery of your baby you will be screened for type 2 diabetes and provided with information to help you to reduce your (and your child’s) risk of developing type 2 diabetes in the future. When you are first diagnosed with gestational diabetes there is a lot to remember, therefore this section will help to support the recommendations provided by your diabetes team. This section will cover: - your diabetes team - blood glucose monitoring - healthy eating recommendation - the impact of carbohydrate foods on blood glucose levels - the importance of physical activity - medications - antenatal checks - delivery - breastfeeding - screening for type 2 Diabetes - reducing risk of developing type 2 diabetes - the National Gestational Diabetes Register (NGDR) - screening for gestational diabetes in future pregnancies To start the program, click here http://www.onlinelearning.diabetessa.com.au/gestational-diabetes/gestational-diabetes-introduction/ The National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) is an initiative of the Australian Government administered by Diabetes Australia. To help those with prediabetes know where they stand and prevent type 2 diabetes, the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have partnered with the Ad Council to launch the first national PSA campaign about prediabetes.

A Change for Life

05:28
Type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed by making lifestyle changes that include weight loss and more physical activity. In this video, people with prediabetes talk about how group lifestyle change classes offered as part of CDC's National Diabetes Prevention Program helped them learn and keep healthy habits. Lifestyle coaches, a physician and Ann Albright, PhD, RD, director of CDC's Division of Diabetes Translation, discuss how group lifestyle classes offer an effective way to prevent type 2 diabetes. Research trials have shown that such classes can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by nearly 60% in people at high risk for developing the disease.
