10 Foods You Should Never Eat

10:45
We know some products are really dangerous for our health, and other products are good for us as they are healthy. It turns out it’s not so simple and some of the most promoted and popular foods can, in fact, harm you. Never eat these 10 dangerous foods for the sake of your own health and the health of your family. Even if you see the juice labels “not from concentrate” or “100% pure”, don't let this fool you. Juice, after being squeezed from different fruits, is kept in huge vacuum-sealed tanks where it can sit for up to a year before being packaged! And by that time, the juice has lost all its flavor, which is why manufacturers have to add artificial flavoring to make it taste fruity again. In most cases, cereals are loaded with refined carbohydrates and sugar. Even if the label assures you that it's fat-free and whole grain, check the list of ingredients. You'll most likely see that the product is full of sugar. Despite common belief, most yogurts don't contain probiotic bacteria since the process of pasteurization kills all these microorganisms. When consumed, trans-fats in ice-cream can cause high cholesterol, stroke, heart disease, and even cancer. Ice cream is also loaded with sugar, artificial flavors, and synthetic preservatives. And if it’s pink, purple, or red, it’s most likely been colored with cochineal extract or carmine, additives which can cause bad allergic reactions. Popcorn has some genetically modified ingredients as well as taste-boosting chemicals and additives. This leads to health problems such as heart attacks, digestive issues, allergies, skin rashes, breathing problems, and the depressing list goes on. Even more, popcorn is extremely caloric. Music: Vibe Mountain - Great Hope The 126ers - Reversed Eclipse Rondo Brothers - Yellow Gold Kevin MacLeod - Jay Jay Silent Partner - Pink Lemonade https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Fruit juices 0:37 Energy bars 1:42 Cereal 2:31 Margarine 3:21 Low-fat yogurt 4:11 Ice cream 5:01 Eggs 6:07 Microwave popcorn 7:09 Sugar-free candy 8:32 Diet soda 9:26 SUMMARY -Store-bought juices may contain some real fruit, but most of their content is water, sugar, and artificial flavoring. -Protein bars and energy bars alike are usually processed products containing sugar, artificial flavors and sweeteners. -Breakfast cereals typically contain a teeny tiny amount of whole grains, which allows producers to mark their product as healthy, but they also contain unhealthy sugar. -Margarine is typically made from industrial vegetable oils hydrogenated to become solid, a process that significantly increases the oils’ trans-fat content. -Manufacturers load “low-fat” yogurts with sugar to make up for the lack of taste usually provided by the natural fats. -Instead of pure milk or cream, manufacturers use cheaper hydrogenated fats such as palm- or coconut oil to produce ice-cream. These oils, when heated, become nothing more than trans-fats. -One egg contains as much cholesterol as a big greasy burger. -Microwave popcorn’s almost always lined with the same toxic substance you can find in Teflon pans. -If candy doesn’t contain sugar, it contains artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose, and saccharine. These substances are chemically processed and may cause some serious side effects. -Artificial sweeteners in diet soda can easily lead to weight gain as they trigger the production of insulin, which makes your body store fat. How to Cope with Food Allergies

02:05
Watch more Allergies videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/354786-How-to-Cope-with-Food-Allergies Some people still think of food allergies as something you can outgrow. But don't take your allergies lightly − coping with food allergies is a full-time job. Step 1: Read food labels Read food labels to avoid allergy-inducing foods. Companies are not required by law to report every ingredient, so do all you can to find out everything you can. Tip Food with hydrolyzed protein can contain dairy products. Step 2: Wear medical bracelet Wear a medical bracelet. If you are unable to speak in the time it takes for your allergic reaction to begin shutting your system down, companions and strangers can find help and provide information. Tip No drug can cure a food allergy, but you can save yourself when an attack starts by using an EpiPen -- emergency epinephrine delivery device. But be sure to get to the hospital within 20 minutes after use. Step 3: Check for sulfites Research sulfites and be sure to ask restaurants whether menu items include sulfites, peanut products, or other allergens. Step 4: Notify primary people Notify primary people in your life or your children's lives so they know what to do in case of life-threatening contact. Write and distribute an action plan to schools and friends. Step 5: Follow diet Follow your special diet. Be consistent and don't waver, regardless of how long it's been since you suffered an attack. Step 6: Use allergy-free cookbook Buy and use an allergy-free cookbook. Find alternative foods that can become a staple of your diet. Balance your foods nutritionally while you're eliminating allergens. Step 7: Wash dishes and utensils Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans thoroughly to ensure you don't accidentally ingest something. Educate yourself on cross contamination. Did You Know? The National Institutes of Health reported in 2007 that over 30,000 anaphylactic attacks occur annually, resulting in 100 to 200 deaths in the U.S.

Food Allergy Friendly Cooking

03:55
HI THERE! I’M KELLY RUDNICKI, CHEF, BLOGGER, COOKBOOK AUTHOR AND MOTHER OF FIVE GREAT KIDS, INCLUDING ONE WITH LIFE-THREATENING, OR SEVERE, FOOD ALLERGIES. I LOVE ENTERTAINING AND HAVING MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY COME TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE. THE ONE THING THAT CAN BE CHALLENGING IS PREPARING MEALS FOR PEOPLE WITH FOOD ALLERGIES. THAT’S WHY I’M PARTNERING WITH MYLAN AND THE GET SCHOOLED IN ANAPHYLAXIS™ PROGRAM TO SHARE WITH YOU ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALLERGY-FRIENDLY RECIPES: CHOCOLATE SUGAR COOKIES. THEY ARE INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS AND CAN WORK FOR MANY TYPES OF OCCASIONS, WHETHER FOR VALENTINE’S DAY, BIRTHDAY OR EVEN JUST AN AFTER-SCHOOL SNACK. AND MY KIDS LOVE THEM! AND THE BEST PART IS THEY ARE FREE OF MANY MOST COMMON FOOD ALLERGENS. SO LET’S GET COOKING! THE FIRST STEP IS TO PREHEAT THE OVEN TO 350 DEGREES. THEN, LINE TWO BAKING SHEETS WITH PARCHMENT PAPER. THIS NOT ONLY MAKES SURE YOUR COOKIES DON’T STICK TO THE PAN, BUT ALSO MAKES FOR AN EASY CLEAN-UP! NOW WE’RE GOING TO START MIXING OUR INGREDIENTS. IN YOUR ELECTRIC MIXER BOWL, YOU’RE GOING TO THROW IN ONE CUP OF SOFTENED DAIRY-FREE MARGARINE WITH ONE-AND-A-HALF CUPS OF SUGAR. YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO MIX THIS JUST UNTIL ITS LIGHT AND FLUFFY. THEN, ADD ONE-HALF CUP UNSWEETENED APPLESAUCE AND TWO-AND-A-QUARTER TEASPOONS VANILLA EXTRACT AND MIX WELL. APPLESAUCE IS ACTUALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE SUBSTITUTES FOR EGGS. YOU CAN FEEL FREE TO USE YOUR OWN HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE, BUT THE STORE-BOUGHT KIND WILL WORK JUST FINE HERE, TOO! IN HERE IN A SEPARATE BOWL, WE’RE GOING TO COMBINE OUR DRY INGREDIENTS. SO WE ARE GOING TO START WITH THREE CUPS OF UNBLEACHED ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR—OR YOU CAN USE A GLUTEN-FREE FLOUR BLEND IF THAT WORKS BETTER FOR YOU—AND TO THIS, WE ARE GOING TO ADD THREE-FOURTHS OF A CUP OF UNSWEETENED COCOA POWDER, A TEASPOON OF BAKING SODA AND A QUARTER TEASPOON OF SALT. AND THEN JUST WHISK IT ALL TOGETHER. WE’RE GOING TO TAKE THESE DRY INGREDIENTS AND BRING IT OVER HERE TO OUR WET INGREDIENTS. AND WE ARE GOING TO GO AHEAD AND MIX THIS UP JUST UNTIL IT’S INCORPORATED. DON’T OVER MIX. REFRIGERATE THE DOUGH FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR—OR EVEN OVERNIGHT AND IF YOU’RE STRAPPED FOR TIME, POP IT INTO THE FREEZER FOR 30 MINUTES OR SO. THIS WILL HELPMAKE THE DOUGH MUCH EASIER TO SPREAD AND MAKES SURE THE COOKIES BECOME SOFT AND TENDER WHEN BAKED. I ACTUALLY PREPARED ANOTHER BATCH EARLIER TODAY THAT’S JUST ABOUT READY. ONCE YOU’VE ROLLED THE DOUGH OUT ONTO A LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE, GO AHEAD AND TAKE YOUR COOKIE CUTTER AND DIP IT INTO THE FLOUR AND THEN CUT THE DOUGH INTO YOUR FAVORITE SHAPES. AND TOP IT WITH SOME ALLERGY-FRIENDLY SPRINKLES. POP THIS INTO THE OVEN FOR ABOUT 10 TO 13 MINUTES OR JUST UNTIL SET. LET THEM COOL, AND THEN THEY’LL STAY FRESH FOR ABOUT TWO DAYS OR SO. IF YOU’RE SERVING THEM AT A PARTY, I LIKE TO INCLUDE AN INGREDIENT CARD IN FRONT OF THE TRAY SO EVERYONE KNOWS EXACTLY HOW THEY WERE MADE. OF COURSE, EVEN IF YOU’RE MAKING A RECIPE THAT’S FREE OF MANY COMMON ALLERGENS, ALLERGENS AREN’T ALWAYS OBVIOUS. THAT’S WHY IT’S SO IMPORTANT THAT ANYONE LIVING WITH OR RESPONSIBLE FOR A CHILD WITH SEVERE ALLERGIES IS AWARE OF THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF A LIFE-THREATENING ALLERGIC REACTION, CAN HELP THOSE AT RISK TO AVOID ALLERGENS AT ALL TIMES AND IS READY TO USE AN EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR AND SEEK IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL ATTENTION IF ANAPHYLAXIS OCCURS. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO VISITANAPHYLAXIS1OHONE.COM TO LEARN MORE ABOUT LIFE-THREATENING ALLERGIES AND TO DOWNLOAD MORE ALLERGY FRIENDLY RECIPES LIKE THESE TASTY COOKIES!

Gluten Free? 1960 USDA Film Admits Scientists "Fixed the Glutens in Flour"

04:10
What triggered a whole market based around 'gluten-free'? They didn't have stores like the one shown in this video back when I was a kid (1980s/90s). As I've reported before, it's not just some new food fad; gluten is actually making people all kinds of sick and slowly killing others. Wheat, a major source of gluten, also happens to be the the number two food subsidized by our government; it's grown all over the place and put into a large majority of our foods. Studies have shown that back in the 1950s, one in around 5,000 people might have a severe and potentially deadly allergy to gluten known as Celiac's Disease; now it's more like a staggering one in 133. In short, in 60 years, here's what Celiac Disease figures look like by the decade in America: 1950s: 1 in 5,000 2010s: 1 in 133 Population increase alone cannot come close to accounting for such a vast difference. Many more people who do not have full-blown Celiac's may suffer from harmful gluten intolerance issues as well; estimates show as many as 18 million Americans suffer from gluten-derived health issues. People who get sick eating gluten do so because the protein triggers an auto-immune response that causes the body to attack it's own intestinal lining. When that happens, any one or more of 200-300 different symptoms can occur, as the body stops being able to absorb its nutrients properly. This can end in so many diseases...and, ultimately, death. Because the symptoms of gluten intolerance are so varied (and numerous), many people don't even realize they are suffering from gluten sensitivity issues. Check here for a condensed list of the 200-300 symptoms gluten intolerance can cause: http://glutenfreewewillbe.com/2012/04/11/what-are-symptoms-of-gluten-intolerance/. What has happened to our food that so many people who eat it are getting sick enough that large numbers of us require whole entire stores dedicated entirely to removing an ingredient that just so happens to be found in the majority of foods in our country...? This clip includes an excerpt from a 1960 U.S. Department of Agriculture short film "Miracles from Agriculture" which might shed a clue on how gluten first started to become such a huge health problem for so many people. "Meet some of the cooks you hire when you buy convenience foods..."

Foods Which Should Not Be Kept In The Fridge - Refrigerator Tips - Kitchen Tips in Tamil Refrigerator was invented to keep the medicines and uncooked food safe. But many people are using the fridge without knowing how to use it. Even in our homes we store the leftover food in the fridge and take it the next day. Most of us are unaware which foods can be stored and how long it can be stored in the fridge. If we reheat the food kept in the fridge and eat it creates many health problems. In this video we are going to see which foods should not kept in the fridge and why. Don't keep the cut fruits in the fridge as it may increase the impact of germs. Instead keep the fruit in the fridge and cut it when needed. Pickle should not kept in fridge as it get spoiled and generally bacterial growth in more in foods for a longer period. You should not keep hot foods in the fridge as its heat will spread inside the fridge and spoil other foods. Don't keep the boiled milk in the fridge as it will get spoiled. Bring the milk packet kept in the fridge to room temperature and then boil it. Some people store meat or chicken in the fridge. As bacterias are present in the meat it may spread to other foods. So it is better to avoid refregerating meat or chicken. If we refrigerate onions the folic acid and quercetin nutrition diminishes and it also cause a foul smell. There is no need to refrigerate onion. Honey should not be refrigerated as it loses its originality. Bread should not be kept in fridge as it becomes dry , instead keep in an airtight bag. The cut pieces of watermelon and musk melon can be refrigerated for 1 or 2 days and if it exceeds it will lose the nutrients. Some people refrigerate coffee or tea. It reduces the taste as well as the caffeine present in coffee many become poisonous. Separate place should be kept for storing Medicines like insulin. Chemical reactions may take place as some people store meat, flowers near these medicines. Garlic should not stored in fridge as it may get spoiled. Instead of refrigerating coriander leaves and curry leaves store it in a bowl with water and it will stay fresh. If it is kept in fridge it loses its nutrients. Jam need not refrigerated as it already crosses many stages of processing during its production. If we keep potatoes in fridge it causes allergy. Instead it can be stored in paper bags but avoid storing vegetables in plastic bags as it get spoiled soon. Snack Ideas For Gluten Free Foods For Kids - Gluten Free Meals Ideas Kids

Snack Ideas For Gluten Free Foods For Kids: In this video, we shared the 10 best snack ideas for gluten free foods for kids - gluten free meals ideas kids. Subscribe to our channel for more videos. Watch: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWEtbsfLxtY) The 10 Best Snack Ideas For Gluten-Free Foods For Kids Kids typically love to munch on different treats, and eating healthy snacks throughout the day can boost their energy and nutritional intake. Keeping your kids gluten-free, though, can be challenging, especially when it comes to snacks. By the time you finally find the right afternoon fix, your kid is likely already in the middle of a meltdown. Lucky for you, help is on the way with these 10 easy and gluten-free snacks. Gluten-Free Diet Basics Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and triticale. If your child has celiac disease or a gluten intolerance, you already know that they should avoid all products made with gluten-containing grains. For them, eating gluten could result in serious side effects such as: * anemia * malnutrition * rash or eczema * joint pain * headaches * fatigue * nervous system issues One of the biggest misconceptions about eating gluten-free is that it’s automatically healthy. But many prepackaged, gluten-free products are high in calories, fat, sodium, and added sugars. But don’t despair! Arm yourself with the right ingredients and a little knowledge, and you’ll keep your kids gluten-free and healthy. 1. Sweet Potato Crunchies Sweet potatoes are a great source of fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, and folate. Kids will love munching on these crispy, spiced chips fried in olive or coconut oil. 2. Cheez-It Crackers If your kids are fans of mini cheese crackers (and which kid isn’t?), try this homemade version. It’s made with gluten-free flour, sharp cheddar cheese, butter, sea salt, and water - that’s it. Your kids will love the taste and you’ll love that it only requires a few pantry staples. 3. Homemade Honey Tiny Teddies What kid doesn’t love dipping those tiny teddy bear graham crackers into a cold glass of milk? You can make a healthier variety at home using gluten-free flour, honey, brown sugar, and vanilla. Best of all, your kids can pick out the cookie cutter shape. 4. No-Bake Gluten-Free Granola Bars Bought granola bars may seem like a healthy snack, but they’re often packed with added sugar and preservatives. These gluten-free bars provide taste and nutrition from honey, gluten-free oats, unsweetened coconut chips, and coconut oil. Make a batch on the weekend, and package them up for a weekday grab-and-go breakfast. 5. Gluten-Free Corn Dog Muffins While they’re not exactly healthy, corn dogs are still a favorite for kids. Fortunately, these mini muffin tin corn dogs are smaller in size and made from gluten-free corn muffin mix. Choose uncured hot dogs to avoid artificial nitrates and preservatives. 6. Allergy-Free Soft Pretzel Bites Chewy, warm soft pretzels are the perfect snack, but most are made with flours containing gluten. These pretzel bites can be made with gluten-free flour and are even more delicious when dipped in your kids’ favorite gluten-free dipping sauce. 7. Gluten-Free Cucumber Sandwiches Healthy cucumber rounds take the place of bread in these bite-sized sandwiches that are just as fun to make as they are to eat. This recipe calls for avocado, tomato, turkey, and cheese, but feel free to substitute with your child’s favorite lean meats, veggies, or hummus. 8. The Best Gluten-Free Chex Mix Despite being a snack staple for kids, store-bought Chex mix isn’t always gluten-free. Forgo the packaged brand and make a healthier version at home by controlling what you put in and what you leave out! This recipe uses gluten-free pretzels and bagel chips, as well as rice and corn cereal and peanuts. 9. Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal Breakfast Bars When it comes to enjoying a PB&J, no child should be left behind because of food allergies. If you nix the bread and replace it with gluten-free oats, your kids can enjoy the timeless snack duo too. Choose natural peanut butter for healthier results or almond butter if your child has a peanut allergy. 10. Applesauce Banana Spice Bread Replacing oil with applesauce in a quick bread recipe results in moister, healthier bread. Add brown rice flour, honey, and arrowroot powder to make a snack that you’re proud to give your kids. How I diagnosed my food allergy (part 2 of Food Allergies)

07:54
I'm allergic to corn... and yes, I blame GMO corn. Is it causing reactions in my gut leading to leaky intestines that allow large food proteins into my blood? That would explain the food allergy blood test that showed multiple food sensitivities. That would also explain the scratch test that led to my discovery of the corn allergy. Oh yeah, and my symptoms started in 1996, right when GM corn was released and my parents had the garden to match. I shucked GMO corn from that garden! What does my body do with those food proteins that leak into my blood as a result of this allergy? Well, I believe some end up in my joints causing pain, and the rest comes out through my skin. It's not fun having unexplained joint pain, skin rashes and acne, depression, anxiety, and abdominal pain. Do you have a hidden food allergy that could be causing these symptoms? I believe my food allergy is the main culprit. Of course probiotics play a role but can they grow in inflamed tissue? Once I figured out the true cause of my gut inflammation I could begin to use nutrition to heal. There are many causes for gut inflammation. I am talking about my personal experience and applying my education of physiology only. This is not intended as medical advice. You are responsible for your health! I only wish to empower you with knowledge of physiology, nutrition, and supplemental and diagnostic resources so that you can take a more active role in your health along with your (hopefully competent and nutritionally educated) healthcare practitioner. In part 1 I explain part of the physiological process of what happens when you eat something you are allergic to. In part 2 I talk about how I figured out what the culprit food is. In part 3 I will talk about the difference between allergies and intolerance; not just in foods but in general, and I'll talk about what I do to balance my allergy:immune response.
