🌾 WARNING: The Real TRUTH About Red Yeast Rice, Statin Drugs and Lowering Your Cholesterol

Does it work, is it safe, and does it have the same side-effects of statin “cholesterol lowering” drugs?... One reason for all the questions and concerns is because Consumer Reports came out with a list of the 15 Supplement Ingredients to Always Avoid and Red Yeast Rice was one of the 15 ingredients on the list. And this is a very important topic because if the right form and amount of Red Yeast Rice is used, it’s an amazingly effective and safe ingredient. The Consumer Reports feedback about Red Yeast Rice… Unfortunately, the information is vague, wrong and inaccurate. They stated risks as: “Kidney and muscle problems, liver problems, hair loss; can magnify effect of cholesterol-lowering statin drugs, increasing the risk of side effects” However, what they HAVE done is inaccurately listed “statin” drug side-effects!… Statin Drugs Are The REAL Problem One of the most prescribed drugs in the world for almost 2 decades, are cholesterol lowering statin drugs. Doctors used to (and still do) say how these drugs are “so amazing and healthy” for you. And the minute anyone had even slightly elevated cholesterol levels, doctors were quick to prescribe these powerful (and harmful) drugs. However, in the past few years the truth has come out… The fact that statin drugs are very toxic and have numerous side-effects — such as memory loss, muscle pain, liver damage, diabetes, high blood pressure, impotence and more. Red Yeast Rice & Statins Red Yeast Rice (a regular diet staple in Asia) naturally contains low levels of monacolin K, which is chemically similar to the active ingredient in the cholesterol-lowering statin drug Lovastatin. And because of this, Consumer Reports automatically and incorrectly ASSUMES that Red Yeast Rice is the “same” as statin drugs and thus, will have the same negative side-effects of statin drugs. Not only is this wrong, but it’s illegal in the US because… FDA Won’t Allow This In 2008, the FDA determined that red yeast rice products that contain more than trace amounts of monacolin K are considered as an “unapproved new drug” and cannot be sold legally as dietary supplements. And this was done primarily because the pharmaceutical companies didn’t want a natural ingredient to compete with their harmful drugs. Red yeast rice can’t cause any statin side-effects, if it doesn’t contain any “statin” in it. However, Red yeast rice still has numerous health and cholesterol-lowering benefits that is NOT related to monacolin K or lovastatin, and without any negative side-effects.2,5 So Consumer Reports was all wrong about Red Yeast Rice’s negative side-effects. Problem 1: Citrinin Some red yeast rice products contain a contaminant called citrinin, which can cause kidney failure in high dosages.4 So when purchasing any product containing Red Yeast Rice, make sure the citrinin is removed. Problem 2: Don’t Use It By Itself You never want to use Red Yeast Rice by itself because you’d have to use a very high dosage of it for it to work and be effective. The best products use red yeast rice, in conjunction with other key ingredients, at specific dosages to help create healthy cholesterol levels, HDL/LDL ratios and triglycerides. Other key ingredients you should look for when purchasing a cholesterol-lowering product, which also work in synergy with red yeast rice are: Policosanol Co-Q10 Pantesin® d-Pantethine Garlic Extract Artichoke Leaf Extract Guggulsterones Phytosterols Complex Cleanse & Strengthen Your Liver This is exactly the problem my parents had in 1998 and that’s why they now use an “all-in-one” remedy called CholesLo™. ======================================== Thank you for watching. 10 Health Benefits of Brown Rice

05:13
10 Health Benefits of Brown Rice White rice is one of the most frequently eaten food products around the world, however, white rice is not nearly so nutritious as its less processed version; brown rice. By making a simple switch from white to brown rice your health may benefit in a number of ways. Although brown rice is less convenient than white due to its longer cooking time, it is much more nutritious as only the outer hull of the grain is removed. This makes it a great staple carbohydrate source which is classified as a whole grain and contains a range of essential nutrients such as B vitamins, phosphorus, selenium, manganese, potassium and magnesium. It is also a good source of dietary fibre and has a pleasant nutty taste that lends itself well to salads, stews and stir-fries.

Is Rice Healthy?

06:10
For more info: https://draxe.com/brown-rice-nutrition/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Sept-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=rice Today I am answering the question, “Is rice healthy?” and explaining the difference between white rice and brown rice. My answer is that it really depends on you. I will show you the pros and cons of rice and go over what I believe is the healthiest rice today. There is a debate today about if you should consume rice or not: ⁃ The paleo diet community says to stay grain-free and therefore that rice is not healthy ⁃ Chinese medicine followers and vegans think rice can be an incredible superfood I believe there is validity to both but it depends on the person and the preparation of the rice. Rice to stay away from: Refined White Rice (This is not jasmine or basmati rice but the sticky white rice from fast food or Chinese restaurants.) Rice Cons: • Fiber, minerals and vitamins have been removed. • Study shows that people are twice as likely to develop diabetes as opposed to those eating whole grain brown rice. • Contains phytic acid (enzyme inhibitor) which keeps you from absorbing and digesting vitamins and minerals. • Contains proteins that are difficult to digest Rice Pros: • Whole grain brown rice is high in B3 which is good for heart health. • Whole grain brown rice is high in selenium which supports the thyroid and kidneys. • Certain types of rice contain GABA, a neurotransmitter that can support the brain and help reduce anxiety as well as support metabolism. So ... is rice healthy? Is brown rice healthy? It depends on how it is prepared. I believe if rice is soaked and sprouted, it unlocks the vitamins and minerals versus most rices that aren’t sprouted. I personally consume an organic rice from the company, True Roots. It is a germinated brown rice (soaked and sprouted) which kills off phytic acid and is easier to digest. In Chinese medicine, look up “qi” or “chi.” They believe that short grain brown rice increase your body’s “qi” which is your body’s life source and energy. It is considered to be one of the #1 healing foods. I suggest my patients make a “congee” with chicken bone broth, brown rice and vegetables such as carrots and celery. This chicken vegetable rice soup is healing and nourishing to the body. In conclusion, is rice healthy? Yes, it can be if you are doing sprouted rice that is traditionally prepared. Simply put, stay away from white refined rice that is void of vitamins and minerals and can cause a spike in your blood sugar and insulin levels. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. 🍬 Why White Rice Is Better Than Brown Rice - Blood Sugar & Weight Loss

I’ll give you the link to watch the original video in a minute. Now, in that video I stated how you want stable blood sugar levels - obviously, not “high” or “low”. This is important for anyone who wants to Avoid, prevent or reverse diabetes Lose weight Have more muscle Increase energy levels Live a healthier, longer life... while reducing diseases and slow the aging process Now, in that video I mentioned different foods to eat and avoid and I stated how you want to “eat white rice and NOT brown rice”. I didn’t get into the details, but I immediately got a lot of questions asking “why”. And this is obviously a great question because most of the so-called “experts”, doctors and nutritionist keep talking about the benefits of brown rice and that you should avoid white rice. And they erroneously tell you this because they say how brown rice “has more protein” -- but it’s only ONE gram “Has more fiber” -- but this is only TWO grams “Has lower glycemic index” and thus, doesn’t affect your blood sugar levels as much -- but this too is WRONG. First of all, there are different forms of white rice - but needless to say, white rice can actually have LOWER glycemic index than brown rice -- depending on how it’s cooked.2 And I’ll do another video about this topic in the future and how you can actually lower BOTH the glycemic index AND the calorie content of white rice, depending on how you cook it Thus, you can eat rice and not worry about it. Just let me know in the comment below if you want details about this and I’ll make a video about it. Don’t forget to to also subscribe to my youtube channel, so you’ll get notified when the video comes out. Anyway, as you can see there’s really no benefit with brown rice, compared to white. In fact, these so-called “experts” fail to mention how brown rice actually has MORE calories and carbs! … NOT good if you’re trying to lose weight or keep your blood sugar stable, right? But, here’s the REAL problem with brown rice and how white rice is better AND safer for you. Brown rice has Phytic Acid, which is an “anti-nutrient”. Phytic acid is a compound located in the rice bran – the part that gives brown rice its color. In fact, this is true with most other “whole grains”. Simply stated, phytic acid grabs on to important minerals and inhibits the enzymes we need to properly digest proteins and starches.1 If you're suffering from any food intolerance, allergies, sensitivity, or GI distress symptoms (bloat, gas, etc.) despite healthy eating… It could be the whole grains that you’re eating and it’s better to switch to eating white rice. This is also because whole grains, such as brown rice, contain dangerous lectins3 And most people are allergic to lectins and cause inflammation in the body. And if you’d like, I can also do a video about the toxicity of lectins -- just let me know below in the comments section if you’re interested. And you don’t have to take my word for it or even the scientific facts. Just stop and think about it yourself. ======================================== ======================================== Thank you for watching. 4 Popular Diet Tips - YOU SHOULD NEVER FOLLOW!!

08:04
Get a step by step diet plan that will get you ripped year round here… http://athleanx.com/x/diet-plan-for-ripped-muscle Everywhere you turn, people give out diet tips and advice for how to lose fat or build muscle fast. The problem is, most of that advice is terrible and will not help you to get to your goal any faster. As a matter of fact, many popular diet tips will do exactly the opposite of what they are supposed to be helping you to do. In this video, I cover four of the most popular diet and meal plan tips that need to be buried right here and now. Right off the bat, some will have you believe that eating fat makes you fat. That can’t be further from the truth. Eating fat, COULD make you fat if you eat in excess of your daily caloric maintenance levels just as eating too many carbs and protein can as well. The simple act of eating a fat molecule will not cause it to be stored as body fat in your body. In fact, nutritional fats are a necessary part of a healthy diet plan, with fat making up a portion of the surrounding layer of nearly every cell in your body. Next diet myth that needs to die is the concept that eating after 6PM at night is somehow going to make you fat. Again, it comes down to where you are at in your daily caloric intake in relation to your maintenance levels. If you are 800 calories below your daily caloric maintenance intake, eating these calories at 7 or 8 or even 10PM is not going to adversely affect you in your pursuit of getting a ripped six pack. The fact of the matter is, you are still at or below your level to maintain your current level of body fat and simply shifting the time at which you consume these calories does not change their thermal effect. That said, eating your meals too infrequently throughout the day can wreak havoc on your blood sugar levels. Having wildly unstable levels of blood sugar can lead to severe alterations in mood, focus and most importantly cravings. When you allow your cravings to build too significantly, you often find yourself in a position where you will grab foods that don’t align themselves with your healthy eating approach needed to get ripped and stay ripped as you build muscle. The next popular eating and diet tip that is dispensed all too often these days is the concept that you cannot build muscle if you are following a vegan or vegetarian meal plan. Why? There are plenty of protein options available to those following a meat and dairy free meal plan including quinoa, chick peas, and even pea protein powders that enable vegans to get adequate protein without having to follow a meat based eating plan. The total amount of protein needed to build new muscle is still a hotly debated topic however it has been shown to vary from individual to individual and could be far less than what you may have been told previously. Finally, there is a mistaken belief by some that taking supplements and fat burners will get you ripped. That is simply not the case if you refuse to also take your daily diet plan seriously. If you think that you can eat like garbage the whole day and simply pop a supplement and get lean, ripped abs you are wrong. That said, someone that is committed to eating healthy and then supplements their diet plan with workout and nutrition supplements is often able to get much faster results than those that don’t. A lot of the success of workout supplements has to do with their ability to help you remain consistent with your nutrition plan and stay accountable to it. Starting your day with a supplement that you are financially invested in will help you to be emotionally invested in the goals you set forth for getting ripped and muscular that you set when you initially purchased the supplement. The consistency that supplements provide in helping you to get in high quality nutrition in a portable and easy to prepare way is likewise priceless. As you can see, there are many workout and nutrition or diet myths that are popular and preventing you from getting abs and building muscle. If you want to follow a step by step diet plan for building muscle and getting ripped at the same time, head to http://athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. Is Red Rice Good For Diabetes?

02:42
Is Red Rice Good or Bad For Diabetes Download Diabetes Management Book: http://bit.ly/2g0NDAH Hello, I'm Ty Mason from TheDiabetesCouncil.com, researcher, writer and I have type 2 diabetes. Today I'm going to answer the question, is red rice good for diabetes. But before we get into that, make sure you download my free diabetes management book which also includes a diabetes grocery shopping guide (foods to eat and avoid) and other tips to better manage your blood sugar to avoid complications. We have covered rice in the past, but that basically included brown and white rice. You can view that video, just search from our channel page “Rice and Diabetes.” Red rice is a bit different. Brown rice is the whole grain with just the first outer layer (husk or hull) removed through milling. It retains its fiber and germ which contains vital nutrients. White rice is brown rice that has been milled to remove the bran and much of the germ, reducing fiber and nutrient content drastically. Red rice has the hull still on it, or at least part of the hull. The redness is due to its high level of anthocyanin. According to Dr. Gargi Sharma, "Brown rice and red rice are quite similar when we talk about them on the nutritional front. Both are great sources of fibre, B vitamins, calcium, zinc and iron, manganese, selenium, magnesium and other nutrients. One thing that sets the red variety apart from its brown counterpart is it being enriched with antioxidants that can help fight damaging free radicals in our body." The culprit in rice that is difficult for the person with diabetes is carbohydrates. If you have diabetes, you know carbs and sugars are our enemy when it comes to maintaining healthy blood glucose levels. One cup of long grain brown rice contains 48 grams of carbs with only 3 of them coming from dietary fiber. The glycemic index of red rice is 55. This makes the glycemic load at 25. That is in the high GL category. So, is red rice good for diabetes? Not really. In moderate amounts it is ok to have. Moderation and portions being the key. Of all the rices, it is the one I would choose, but be careful. I hope this answered your question is red rice good or bad for diabetes. Don’t forget to get your diabetes management book. Let me know if you have any other diabetes related questions.

30 Best Foods For High Cholesterol

Raised total cholesterol is the leading cause of disease burden in both the developing and developed world as a risk factor for stroke and ischemic heart disease. For instance, Lipitor, the most popular type of statins, has lifetime sales of more than $131 billion. Unfortunately, the reduction in blood cholesterol of statins translates into only minimal improvements in the health of the arteries, as seen by tiny reductions in heart disease.  Plus, statins have plenty of side effects, including - nausea, muscle pain, and damage to the liver and nervous system. Are Sprouted Grains Really Healthy?

04:55
For more info: https://draxe.com/sprouted-grain-bread/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Oct-2014&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=sproutedgrains In today’s video, we will be discussing the subject of sprouted grains and if they are really healthy. I’ll cut right to the chase. My answer is: sometimes and in moderation. There are three reasons sprouted grains are better than regular grains: 1. Phytic acid is in regular grains, which is an enzyme inhibitor. (If you soak the grains, the sprouted grains unlock the nutrients that your body can absorb.) 2. Gluten in protein becomes more digestible. 3. Regular grains are high in carbohydrates, specifically a type of carbohydrate called amylopectin. Amylopectin affects blood sugar levels and can increase your risk of diabetes. Overall, sprouted grains are the better option, but it’s still not perfect or what I would consider a healing food. If you’re struggling with an autoimmune disease, removing grains for a while would allow your body to heal. In general, if you can limit your intake of grains to just a couple of times of week, in moderation, you will be consuming a healthy diet. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. Nutrients in rice | Benefits of Rice types ( Brown Rice | Red Rice | White Rice | Parboiled Rice)

02:56
Nutrients in rice | Benefits of Rice | Brown Rice | Red Rice | White Rice | Parboiled Rice | Nutrients in rice bran | Brown rice weight loss| Cholesterol lowering effect of rice. So lets talk about nutrients in rice and health benefits of rice to us! The outer covering of rice is called the husk. It is hard and not edible. When we remove it we get the whole grain rices such as brown or red rice, depending on the type of rice. Whole grain rice is considered highly nutritious, because it retains the next layer of rice, which is called the Bran. The major nutrient in the bran is Fat. But the Fat in rice bran is mostly the unsaturated type. Unlike the saturated fat, the unsaturated type lowers the cholesterol levels. Other nutrients in the bran are carbohydrates and proteins. It is rich in vitamins like B1 B3 B5 B6 and also minerals like iron zinc manganese and phosphorus. And thanks to its high fibre content rice bran further cuts down the cholesterol levels and the calorie intake. The germ of the rice grain contains fats, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and minerals. The fat quickly becomes rancid. Since the bran contains high amounts of fat, it is not very durable. So to keep rice longer, the manufacturers remove the bran layer. This is our typical white rice. It lasts longer than the whole grain rice and relatively easier to chew. But it misses out a lot of nutrients of the bran and germ. There's a way to get around this. That's parboiled rice. It is produced by boiling the whole grain rice, before we remove the husk or the bran. So the nutrients in the bran gets diffused into the endosperm of the white rice. Boiling also makes the rice bigger, so small amounts are enough o make you feel full. This makes parboiled rice an excellent meal for losing weight. music Attribution: "Royalty Free Music from Bensound" Music: www.bensound.com

Red Rice as a Cleanser - Properties and Benefits of Red Rice

15:09
Red Rice as a Cleanser - Properties and Benefits of Red Rice Red rice is a verity of whole grain rice that has plenty of nutritional properties. It helps your body reduce cholesterol and triglycerides as well as drop pounds without sacrificing taste and satisfaction. Whole grain rice is a little known but highly nutritious food, due to its color and because it maintains the skin that covers its grain which is full of nutrients and fiber. In this article we’ll explain how you can use red rice as a base for your cleansing diet to lose weight as well as lower your cholesterol and triglyceride levels, all without becoming hungry. Benefits of red rice Let’s discuss some of the best properties of this grain, since it will become the basis of your cleansing diet. Rich in fiber. Regulates blood sugar. Acts as an antioxidant. Contains vitamin B6, minerals suc has iron, magnesium and zinc. Reduces levels of cholesterol and triglycerides. Advantages of this cleansing diet You shouldn’t maintain this diet for longer than three days, as this is a kickstarter for a healthier day to day cleanse. Red rice will help you feel full, meaning you’ll eat less during the day. If you feel like snacking on something, it’s not because you are hungry but rather because of impulse-control issues. Your body and stomach will lose its swelling and bloating as well as make digestion easier. You’ll lose weight but should follow up with healthy diets to keep it off. Fights constipation without the need for supplements and laxatives, thanks to the amount of fiber present in the grain. Helps eliminate toxins through urination, sweat and defecation. Helps the body eliminate mucus which can lead to chronic sinusitis. You’ll note the alleviation of chronic pains and illnesses. What do you need? You’ll need the following ingredients: Whole grain rice, preferably organic. Gomasio (toasted sesame seeds mixed with sea salt). Apples (optionals or for those cases of gastric hyper acidity). Preparation Over a three day period, consume this mix. Although there are people who have maintained this diet for longer periods, you should be aware of illnesses that may have adverse effects. Talk to your doctor before you begin this diet. Every day, eat 250 grams of rice mixed with gomasio in four large meals a day. To be effective you must chew each mouthful around 80 times until the food is almost liquid. This is a key part of this diet which you should be rigorous in completing. If you suffer from gastric hyperacidity or must eat foods raw, you can add three apples per day, organic and with their skin, making sure to fully chew as well. The days before and after this diet you should consume preferably vegetables, fruits, legumes and rice. How to prepare the red rice Rinse the rice before cooking. Red rice needs to boil longer than white rice because it’s tougher. Cook around 40 minutes in two parts water for each part rice. Don’t add oil, salt or any other type of condiment other than gomasio. How do you prepare the gomasio? Gomasio is a traditional Asian food that has many beneficial properties. Loaded with vitamin and minerals, especially calcium, it’s the perfect addition to this diet. A source of energy and is nutritious. Facilitates digestion. Has diuretic properties. Is an alkaline. Stimulates the metabolism. You can buy it already prepared and cook at home or prepare it in your own kitchen by: In a pan, toast 20 tablespoons of sesame seeds raw, ensuring they don’t burn. Add to the pan a teaspoon of sea salt. Grind down in a grinder. Store in a glass bottle with a secure top. Salt will act as a natural preservative as well. 5 Best Muscle Building Food

03:16
Top 5 Muscle Building Food Lists Below:- #5. Brown Rice:- A slow-digesting whole grain that provides you longer-lasting energy throughout the day, and during workouts. Brown rice also can help boost your growth hormone (GH) levels, which are critical for encouraging lean muscle growth, fat loss and strength gains. #4. Milk:- Contains both whey and casein and is rich in the amino acid glutamine. Organic milk has about 70% more omega-3 fatty acids than conventional milk. #3. Eggs:- Eggs are known as the perfect protein, but their ability to boost lean muscle and strength gains isn’t due to just the protein alone. It gets a lot of help from the yolks, where the cholesterol is found. If you’re worried about your cholesterol shooting up from eating the yolks, cholesterol from eggs has been shown to decrease the amount of LDL (bad) cholesterol particles associated with atherosclerosis. #2.Chicken:- Like beef, chicken is an excellent source of high quality protein, which is important for muscle maintenance and repair, bone health, and weight maintenance. And of course, there are so many ways you can cook and prepare chicken. Go down to the store and you can easily find chicken meat cut into single serving sizes that can be seasoned and quickly cooked. #1. Beef:- Beef is important for building lean muscle due to its protein content, cholesterol, zinc, B vitamins and iron content. Beef from grass-fed cattle have much higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) than conventionally raised cattle, which gives you a boost in shedding body fat and building lean muscle. If White Rice is Linked to Diabetes, What About China?

05:13
Protein consumption can exacerbate the insulin spike from high glycemic foods. Subscribe to Dr. Greger’s free nutrition newsletter at https://www.nutritionfacts.org/subscribe and get a free recipe from his new HOW NOT TO DIE COOKBOOK. (All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) This one is a little twisty and might require a second watch or two. Instead of breaking this into multiple videos I tried to pack it all into one. Basically, the question is if the modern diabetes epidemic in China and Japan has been linked to white rice consumption, but how can we reconcile that with low diabetes rates just a few decades ago when they ate even more rice? The protein exacerbation of the effect of refined carbs could help explain the remarkable results achieved by Dr. Kempner with a don’t-try-this-at-home diet composed of mostly white rice and sugar. See Kempner Rice Diet: Whipping Us Into Shape (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/kempner-rice-diet-whipping-us-into-shape/). Refined grains may also not be good for our blood pressure (Whole Grains May Work As Well As Drugs http://nutritionfacts.org/video/whole-grains-may-work-as-well-as-drugs/).
