Best Time To Take Vitamins and Supplements
Do you know how to take your vitamins and supplements? Timing is everything when it comes to taking your vitamins and supplements, so we've put together a guide to help you maximize the powerful health benefits that come from taking them at the right time. Read more about this on our blog: http://blog.professionalsupplementcenter.com/the-best-time-to-take-nutritional-supplements/ Morning: -Probiotics - Probiotics are best taken in the morning on an empty stomach. • When the stomach is empty, digestive activity is quiet and stomach acid and pH balance are relatively low, increasing the chances for the helpful microorganisms to thrive. -Iron - Iron is best absorbed in the morning on an empty stomach. • Caffeine, dairy and calcium can negatively affect absorption, so it's best to avoid these for several hours after taking iron. -Multivitamins - Take multivitamins with your first meal. In the morning! • As multivitamins contain both water and fat soluble vitamins, be sure to include some healthy fats with your meal for optimal absorption. -B-Complex vitamins - Taking B vitamins with breakfast helps to boost your metabolism and convert your food into energy, which can be used throughout the day. -Vitamin C- Vitamin C is best taken in the morning to support the immune system and boost energy levels. • Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin that lasts only a few hours in the blood stream, so if your formula recommends more than 1 tablet per day, take it in divided doses with meals to get the full benefit. Noon: -CoQ10 - CoQ10 is best taken at lunch time with a meal that contains dietary fats. • Avoid taking CoQ10 late in the day so it doesn't disturb your sleep. -Vitamin D - Vitamin D is best taken with a meal that contains dietary fats. • It's possible that Vitamin D can negatively affect sleep, so lunch time is a good time to get your Vitamin D. -Iodine - Iodine is not stored in the body, so regular intake is needed. kelp tablets taken with lunch may boost midday energy levels. -Vitamin K - Vitamin K is best absorbed along with dietary fats and ideally should be taken during the middle of the day. • Avoid taking vitamin K if you are taking Coumadin or any anticoagulant prescription drug, as Vitamin K can interfere with the effects of the medication. Night: - Fish oil - Important to support many aspects of health, fish oil is best taken with a main meal like dinner to aid absorption. -Calcium - Calcium aids nerve transmission and muscle function. To get the full benefit, take calcium in the evening along with magnesium. -Magnesium - Magnesium has a calming effect on the muscles and nervous system and may aid restful sleep. • Magnesium works synergistically with calcium, so take these together either as individual supplements or in a combined formula. In addition: -Digestive Enzymes - Digestive enzymes can be taken with any meal or within 30 minutes of your meal. Unless you have serious digestive issues, they don't necessarily need to be taken with light meals or snacks, but can be very beneficial for optimal breakdown and absorption of nutrients when taken with main meals. -Fiber - Fiber supplements may be taken either first thing in the morning or before bed. Be sure to take fiber with a full glass of water and get plenty of water during the day. Fiber can delay or reduce the absorption of certain medications so always check with your healthcare provider before taking. Must Know: Why You Need to Stay Away From These Vitamins
Must Know: Why You Need to Stay Away From These Vitamins Multivitamin and mineral supplements became available in the 1940s, and Americans actively use them ever since. Nowadays, millions of people use supplements in order to strengthen their health and avoid nutrient deficiencies. Most people take a balanced combination of essential vitamins and minerals in the form of a multivitamin, such as Centrum vitamins. Multivitamins accounted for 40 percent of all supplement purchases, which is $5.7 billion out of the $37 billion in supplement sales in 2014 alone. Centrum vitamins, by Pfizer, are the best-selling multivitamins in the country. Their produces is the biggest pharmaceutical company worldwide, which deals mainly in manufactured chemicals. Yet, the company is also known due to the numerous legal battles, frauds, and controversy. It was recently threatened to be sued over false claims about Centrum vitamins in 2012 by the consumer watchdog group Center for Science in the Public Interest. Eventually, the company had to pull claims about breast and colon health. Moreover, it lacks regulation, specificity, and even standards. Namely, the multivitamins ask for no set standards or levels. Yet, it does what all big corporations regularly do: it pays large sums of money for advertising their chemically and synthetically enhanced supplements which can, in fact, do more harm than good. Apparently, even though these multivitamins are advertised to boost immunity and kick your metabolism they actually contain multiple additives which can be harmful or toxic to your body. Centrum vitamins contain at least 3 preservatives and several color additives, along with many toxic and even carcinogenic chemicals and additives. Here is a list of their dangerous ingredients: -Calcium Carbonate — This compound is found in rocks, shells, and even pearls. It is sometimes used to raise calcium levels in the body; but has been related to strokes and heart disease, especially in the elderly. Studies have also linked it to heart issues and myocardial infarction. -Polyethylene Glycol — It is often used in the manufacturing of coal-burning plants, rocket fuel, and over-the-counter laxatives. It might lead to kidney damage, hives and other allergic reactions, esophageal bleeding, tears, and autism. In children, it might cause encopresis, which is a continuous leakage of semi-formed feces. -Hydrogenated Oil — Hydrogenated oils quickly become toxic when processed under extreme heat, atmospheres of pressure and injections of metals. Their consumption clogs the arteries, leading to massive heart and arterial issues, and also results in producing cholesterol to bandage artery walls which have been affected. Due to the vascular issues, it affects the brain and causes Alzheimer’s and ADHD. -Food Dye Yellow 6 — This is a toxic food dye which is a carcinogen and might result in allergies, tumors on the kidneys and testes, and chromosomal damage. It might also cause ADHD, hyperactivity, and restlessness. -GMO Corn Starch — It has multiple adverse effects on the body and affects the detoxifying organs such as the liver and kidneys, but also damages the spleen, heart, and adrenal glands. Its another side effect is Hepatorenal Toxicity, which leads to kidney failure and is typically fatal. -Titanium Dioxide — It has been found to be potentially carcinogenic to humans. It’s included in various products as a whitening agent, like in ink, paper, paints, and even cosmetics and toothpaste. Even though it has been previously considered to be safe by the FDA, it has been recently found to cause lung cancer in rats. What is even more disturbing is that the Centrum vitamins for children are even more dangerous, as they include the following hazardous additives: -Cupric Oxide — This copper mineral is known to be dangerous in Europe. It causes kidney disease and childhood cirrhosis, and it is also dangerous to the environment. -Artificial Sweeteners (Aspartame) — As soon as it is ingested, this carcinogenic sweetener is converted to formaldehyde and methanol, and causes 40 adverse side effects, including birth defects, ADD, cancer, lupus, multiple sclerosis and more. -Zinc Oxide — In Europe, it is considered to be harmful, and leads to diarrhea, constipation, upset stomach and more. -Lactose (Milk Sugar) — Lactose makes up 2-8 % of the milk by weight. Specific enzymes in the stomach break it down, leading to lactose intolerance, and symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, cramping, upset stomach, and nausea. How Much Vitamin C Should I Take ? |Dr.Michael Greger
How Much Vitamin C Should I Take ? Dr.Michael Greger For many years, the RDA (the recommended daily allowance) for vitamins was just based on preventing deficiency with a margin of safety. But, the minuscule amount of vitamin C, for example, needed to avoid scurvy is not necessarily the ideal intake for optimal health. So, what might be the optimal intake of vitamin C? Let’s ask the body. How might we do that? By seeing how much the body absorbs and excretes. Experiments showing how much vitamin C our body absorbs and excretes can give us a sense of how many vitamin C rich fruits and vegetables we should be take each day. Low levels of folate have also been linked to a lower sperm count. The daily recommended intake for adult men is 200 micrograms. Folic acid is found in foods such as potatoes, oranges, leafy greens and beans. Vitamin C Eating a diet rich in vitamin C helps in improving sperm quality. Vitamin C is rich in antioxidants which helps to protect the sperm's DNA and reduces the level of damaged sperm per ejaculation. The recommended daily intake of vitamin C for men over 19 years is 40 mg. Citrus fruits, berries, kiwifruit, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and red bell peppers are excellent sources of vitamin C. Multivitamin and multimineral capsules /Uses/Dosage and its effects on body in Hindi
Hi everyone, Multivitamin and multimineral supplements contain a combination of vitamins and minerals, and sometimes other ingredients as well but they cannot take the place of eating a variety of foods that are important to a healthy diet. Foods provide more than vitamins and minerals. They also have fiber and other ingredients that have positive health effects. But people who don’t get enough vitamins and minerals from food alone, are on low-calorie diets, have a poor appetite, or avoid certain foods like in case of strict vegetarians and vegans, might consider taking an multivitamins and multiminerals supplement. ********************************************************************* LIKE COMMENT SHARE SUBSCRIBE ***************************************** You can Buy multivitamins online on Amazon.in MuscleBlaze VITE Multivitamin, 60 Tablets http://amzn.to/2w89e4u HealthVit Mulvit A To Z Multivitamins and Minerals- 60 Tablets http://amzn.to/2w8RbLs

It has other names such as ascorbic acid and has been called the most popular supplement in the world. It is essential because humans can not synthesize vitamin C and must obtain it from their diet. I'm just going to briefly summarize the things I think are worth knowing about vitamin C. Everything I'm going to say is evidence based with research to back it up. It is well known as a vitamin supplement taken to prevent the common cold. I looked up the data for this. A 2013 meta-analysis of 29 trials (n = 11,306) showed a small but significant 8 percent reduction in the duration of cold symptoms in adults regularly taking vitamin C supplements (at least 200 mg/day). In the general population it does not reduce the risk of developing a cold or getting sick. It does appear to have a protective effect in highly active individuals. In other words, the evidence is not strong that vitamin C is dramatically helpful in preventing or treating the common cold in most people. Vitamin C has not been shown to reduce the risk of developing cancer, cardiovascular disease or coronary heart disease, cataracts or macular degeneration SOURCES citric fruits, kiwi fruits, apples, vegetables, potatoes, leafy greens, and fortified cereals RECOMMENDED DAILY ALLOWANCE Males 90 mg/day Females 75 mg/day Should not exceed 2000 mg/day Vitamin C, also known as ascorbate, ascorbic acid, dehydroascorbic acid. It is a well known antioxidant. It has been associated with the common cold (acute coryza, adenovirus), head cold, nasopharyngitis, rhinopharyngitis, rhinovirus, scurvy, URI or upper respiratory infection. It is used by bodybuilders and weight lifters as a recovery supplement, it may help boost the immune system, helps with collagen synthesis, muscle building.

5 Signs Of Zinc Deficiency And The Foods To CURE It
Follow us on Twitter: @foods4health1 Recipes4Health: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2bZhXBHIb51n1fE3VWPmcQ/videos To learn more about the health benefits of food, visit: http://www.benefitsoffood.blogspot.com Zinc is an important mineral that is needed for our bodies to function properly and for overall health. Zinc helps with a number of important bodily functions, which includes boosting immunity, hormone production, proper cell division and growth and repair. Unfortunately, many individuals around the world are deficient in this nutrient. Older adults tend to be more at risk for this mineral deficiency. Though zinc deficiency can be harder to detect, there are some signs and symptoms of it that we should be aware of. Be sure to discuss any changes in your health with your medical practitioner. Lets discuss some signs of zinc deficiency and some foods that are a good source of this important mineral. 1. One of the more common zinc deficiency symptoms is having a weaker immune system and being more vulnerable to infections. This is because zinc is vitally important for our overall health and for proper immune function. If you are low in this mineral, this can increase the chances of both viral and bacterial infection. Immunity is also compromised since zinc is an important structural component of proteins and hormone receptors that work to keep us healthy and our immune system functioning properly and efficiently. 2. Another possible sign of zinc deficiency is worsened neurological function. This is due to the fact that zinc is very important for both growth and neurological performance. Low levels of zinc may cause lower attention and lessen your ability to focus on daily tasks. Low zinc levels have also been linked to possible motor disorders. Some studies have found that when a zinc supplement was taken by individuals, their attention and neurological function improved. 3. Another sign or symptom of a deficiency in this vitamin is loss of hair or thinning hair. This may occur in more severe cases. One reason why zinc deficiency may cause hair loss or thinning hair is because it is associated with hypothyroidism, which may cause the hair to thin and alopecia. As research indicated, thyroid hormones and a proper functioning and healthy thyroid are not just important, but are essential for zinc absorption. 4. Diarrhea is another more common sign and symptom of zinc deficiency. It is most likely due to having an impaired or weakened immune system which can be caused by a deficiency in this nutrient. As well, other digestive and stomach symptoms may be caused by zinc deficiency, such as irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, bloating and gas. 5. Lastly, having leaky gut syndrome may be another warning sign of being zinc deficient. This is a condition in which proteins in the body can pass and leak through the gut, causing systemic inflammation. This may even lead to other health issues such adrenal fatigue and thyroid problems. Studies have found that zinc and zinc supplementation may be able to help reduce the symptoms of leaky gut and promote proper digestive function and health. Always discuss with your medical practitioner if you are displaying any of these sign and symptoms to determine their exact cause and best treatment and prevention practices. Fortunately, there are foods that are good sources of zinc. These include beef, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas, mushrooms, cashews, chicken and spinach. Thank you for watching the video! Pet Care - Importance for Calcium And Vitamin - Bhola Shola
Pet Care - Importance for Calcium And Vitamin Find more at http://www.bholashola.com Also, Like our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/bholashola Pet Care is a pet awareness initiative by Harwinder Grewal. Who is an owner of Grewal Pet Shop and Farm, Main Road, Adampur. In this video, he tells about Importance for Calcium And Vitamin in the Hindi Language. 1. Calcium is known for its role in building strong bones, but it also performs several other functions in your dog’s body. Calcium helps keep your dog’s nails, teeth, and coat healthy. Calcium is required for digestion, blood clotting, squeezing and relaxing muscles, releasing hormones, and proper nerve function. Calcium even helps your dog maintain a regular heartbeat. 2. Calcium is a mineral that must be consumed through diet; it cannot be made inside the body. Over 98% of total bodily calcium is stored in your dog's bones, which works as a mineral bank. Just like a regular bank, calcium is deposited and withdrawn from your dog's bones on a daily basis. 3. Furthermore, calcium is an interdependent mineral that works synergistically with co-factors to deliver its benefits. Calcium and magnesium are primarily responsible for maintaining a healthy bone mineral balance in your dog. Vitamin D is an essential factor in the absorption of calcium and magnesium. 4. Normal total serum calcium in a dog is approximately 8-11 mg/dL. Getting the correct nutritional balance of calcium in a dog can be tricky. Even well-meaning pet parents (especially those giving their dogs homemade diets) sometimes make the mistake of not including enough calcium in their dog’s food. Adding calcium-rich foods like cottage cheese may not be enough. When a dog has too little calcium in their diet, the body will take calcium from its own bones in order to compensate. This is why it’s vital to strike an optimal balance in calcium levels in your dog. 5. Having the right balance of calcium is key for optimum health. Any imbalance in either deposits or withdrawals can cause issues. Too much calcium can cause a condition called hypercalcemia in dogs. On the other hand, not having enough calcium can lead to condition called hypocalcemia in dogs. 6. The health of your dog is dependent on the nutrition he/she receives from puppy hood through the senior years. Dogs require specific vitamins and minerals in their diet. While essential, they can be toxic in excess amounts. The charts below describe the vitamin/mineral required, its function and signs of deficiency or excess. 7. Vitamins are an essential part of your dog's good health. Dogs require vitamins in their food at low concentrations. Some vitamins are essential in low doses and toxic in excess amounts. Always check with your Veterinarian if your dog becomes symptomatic or if you suspect a deficiency in the diet. Thanks for watching our video. Please like this video if you liked it. How Much Omega 3 Do We Really Need Per Day? (The Real Dose)
In this video you'll find out how much omega 3 you need to take per day for best results. ►If you found this video helpful hit Subscribe to support the channel and share the video with your friends to spread the word◄ Disclaimer: Before taking any supplements please consult with your physician, this video just includes general recommendations. Key points: The nutrition label on your omega 3 fish oil supplement can be misleading if you're not sure what you're looking for. The two main compounds we're looking for are EPA and DHA. They stand for for eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid. And the standard capsule of an Omega 3 supplement has only about 300 mg of these 2 combined. The effective dose for total EPA/DHA intake is 1.8-3.0 grams per day. That's between 6 to 10 of standard capsules, and the nutrition label will often say that you only need 1 or 2 per day. Higher concentration supplements are also available, and they usually come at a higher price point. The dosage would be split at least morning and evening (taken with meals). Why take omega 3? "If there is a single nutrient that is almost impossible to achieve adequate amounts of with the modern diet (outside of the handful of people who eat a lot of fatty fish), it’s the w-3 fish oils. In a very real sense, fish oils ‘do everything’ and impact on not only overall health but help to control inflammation, promote fat oxidation, inhibit fat storage and a host of others. It’s a list of benefits that seems almost too good to be true but the research is there. Due to their general unavailability in the food supply, supplementation is almost necessary and both pills (containing varying amounts of the active EPA/DHA) and liquids are available. Both are acceptable and some people simply prefer the liquids (which can be used on salads or in blender drinks) to pills (which often cause burps)." Full text at - http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/muscle-gain/supplements-part-1.html Omega 3 as a fat burning supplement: "Of all the types of dietary fat, it is the omega-3 class that has the greatest effect on enhancing lipolysis. The primary way in which omega-3s exert these effects is by acting as metabolic fuel partitioners, upregulating lipid oxidation. and downregulating lipid sythesis (5). This is accomplished on several different fronts: First, omega-3s increase the fluidity of cell membranes (1). Cell membranes serve a critical function by regulating the passage of nutrients, hormones, and chemical signals into and out of cells. When cell membranes are fluid, they b allow substancesto readily penetrate into the cytoplasm. This has wide-ranging effects, from increasing muscle protein synthesis to enhancing glycogen storage to improving insulin sensitivity to boosting leptin production, factors that can have a tangible effect on lipolysis." 12 Best Foods for Men's Health
Bones may be sturdy enough to transport us all day every day, but they are vulnerable to losing their strength if neglected. In today’s video, we’ll take a closer look at 12 foods that can strength your bones and put that spring back into a man’s step. 1. Eggs Scrambled or boiled, eggs can provide you with a bountiful supply of Vitamin D. This vitamin plays a key role in how well a man can sustain a normal level of testosterone in his blood. It’s recommend that you eat one egg per day, but those who have trouble with cholesterol should skip the yoke. 2. Garlic With its powerful anti-fungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties, this anti-aging superfood can help you fight off illness and infections. Just add it to any of your favorite foods for a flavor boost. 3. Honey Instead of reaching for sugar, choose a small spoonful of honey as a substitute. Add it to your tea, oatmeal or pancakes. Honey’s antioxidants can strengthen your immune system and help you win the battle when infections strike. 4. Watermelon A juicy watermelon is a great summer treat, but it can also improve blood circulation and your entire circulatory system. Eat it as a snack, add to salad or whip up a sorbet. 5. Cauliflower Adding a small amount of cauliflower to your daily diet can reduce estrogen while boosting testosterone. 6. Grapes By eating a handful of grapes a day, a man’s testosterone levels will rise, and sperm activity will also increase. Additionally, the nutrients in grapes can slow down the aging process. 7. Oysters Oysters are little vaults stuffed full of vitamins and minerals that enhance your heart’s health and boost your immune system. Just sprinkle a little lemon juice and salt to preserve their nutrients. 8. Meat Too much meat isn’t beneficial for your health, but it does play a significant role in increasing testosterone levels. Just be sure to eat meat that’s organic and has come from a grass-fed source. 9. Beans Beans can be added to most any side dishes, soups or salads. These heart-healthy foods also help men maintain normal testosterone levels. 10. Tuna Vitamin D-rich tuna is good for your heart, but just remember to buy tuna that has not been exposed to mercury. 11. Pomegranates Pomegranate juice is an excellent source of potent antioxidants, which can tackle free radicals before they can disrupt circulatory functions. Also, the International Journal of Impotence Research states that nearly 50% impotent men noticed their condition improved after drinking only one glass of pomegranate juice. 12. Cabbage Men who eat cabbage ingest the chemical - indole-3-carbinol or IC3, which eliminates female hormones. A Rockefeller University study noted that men who consumed 500mg daily for 7 days saw their estrogen levels cut in half. 3 Supplements You Should Take Daily
In our daily diets, it can be difficult to get every single vitamin and mineral necessary and that is why at times it is beneficial to take supplements. They can act as an added benefit and add to already good health. Unfortunately, many individuals depend on supplements to work as replacements for good health. This is the wrong ideology in my opinion. Use supplements to improve already great health, do not use them as a crutch. Now which supplements to I recommend? Well here they are... I take 3 supplements daily: Fish Oil, Vitamin D, and Magnesium L Threonate. Each have their benefits. These, in my opinion are 3 supplements you should take daily. Fish Oil is beneficial because it has been shown to decrease inflammation in the body. It has also been shown to lower triglycerides and decrease the chance of heart disease. We get many omega-6 fatty acid from chicken, pork, and steak and not enough omega-3 fatty acid. A ratio of 2:1 or 1:1 omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid is optimal for proper health and this is why fish oil can help. Vitamin D is important for the regulation of calcium and phosphorus absorption, maintenance of healthy bones and teeth, and is suggested to supply a protective effect against multiple diseases and conditions such as cancer, type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis. We get vitamin D from the sun but for all of us who work or may not have the chance to be outside during the winter taking vitamin d can help. It is estimated 70% of people are vitamin d deficient. Go to your doctor, get a blood test, and find out if you should be taking a vitamin d supplement. Magnesium L Threonate Helps Increase Energy. It also has been shown to Calms Nerves & Anxiety. Last but not least it helps with digestion, relieves muscle aches and spasms and has been shown to prevents migraine headaches. Now I am not a doctor but I have done my research and talked with a reputable naturopathic doctor who fully supports these supplements and I am calling on you to take action and to consider taking these as well. It will improve your mind, body, and overall health. If you have any questions, feel free to message me! Feel free to download my free 17 Page Primal / Paleo eBook at https://primalperspective.com ! Is it Good to Take Your Vitamins at Night?
Is it good to take your vitamins at night? It is good to take vitamins in general if you aren't getting enough nutrition from your diet. I heard that you should take them at night for better absorption. Yes, they'll sit in your stomach all night and digest. But the same is true during the day unless you pop a pill right before a marathon. Is there a bad time to take vitamins? For actual vitamins, there is no bad time. Don't take them without water, since the fluids help you break down and absorb the vitamins. I was told to take weight loss supplements in the morning, while others are best at night. Most weight loss supplements are just appetite suppressants or stimulants. If you take it at night, you won't sleep. Let's say it is a vitamin B pill. When should I take that? Whenever it doesn't make you look like you're popping too many pills. Though if you are taking appetite suppressants, taking vitamins at that time reduces the risk of malnutrition. I eat sensibly. Most people popping weight loss supplements are going to drink shakes or eat a frozen dinner at night, not nine servings of vegetables to get all the micronutrients they need. I heard that you don't want to take them all at once. True, because then your body has trouble absorbing them all. And you should check with your doctor on timing since some supplements could interfere with medication you are taking. I heard you shouldn't take vitamins in the morning due to poor absorption. That's only if you take them on an empty stomach, since your body will push it on through. Take vitamins with a small snack so your body stops to digest it. Someone said you have to take vitamin B or C with dinner. Those are water soluble vitamins. If you take it without any water or food, it is flushed out of your system. And it adds to the pile in the bottom of the porta-potty. Or it feeds the plants at the water treatment center.

Best Multivitamin for Men? How to choose the Top Rated Multivitamin Brand for a Man | Reviews
Learn more about the 5 best multivitamins for men at http://www.chipptips.com/vitamins. There are a few important factors you need to consider if you are searching for the best multivitamin for men. Unfortunately, most of the vitamin supplements on store shelves today are not very effective. They are made with poor quality ingredients that allow companies to keep costs low and profits high. Only a small fraction of these ingredients are actually absorbed by the body. This means that men are spending a lot of cash on the wrong supplements and getting very little benefit from them. There are only a handful of companies that strive to use the best vitamins and minerals. None of these outstanding companies spend millions of dollars on television and radio ads. This is probably because they prefer to put their money back into the product (where it belongs). Some of the most popular brands that you see on television offer the worst quality products. If you want to find the best multivitamin for men, take a minute to check out this video. It will give you the tools you need to select a top rated nutriment. First off, there are some key differences between the best multivitamins for men and women. Therefore, these reviews will be broken down into 2 categories. In this video, we will focus on the health and nutritional needs of a male. It is important for men to find the optimal mixture of nutrients and minerals to support their body. Also, please remember that supplements alone will not keep you healthy. Optimal health relies on a proper diet of nutritious foods, fiber, fruits and vegetables. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multivitamin I have been exercising and taking male nutritional supplements for most of my adult life. In that time, I have dedicated an extensive amount of time to researching the top rated vitamins for men, women and children. I am saddened by how much misinformation there is out there. That is why I spent a great deal of time putting this video together as well as the additional information on my blog. You'll find ratings, reviews, tips and more information that will help you select the best multivitamins for improving your health. http://www.menshealth.com/health/best-multivitamins-men (Examples of brands you should stay away from!) I thoroughly examined each brand for the quality of minerals, ingredients, potency, and bio-availability. I also studied the average absorption rates of liquids, pills, capsules, chewables and powders. Finally, I posted my ratings for the top 5 multivitamins for men on my blog. This is a great place to start if you are a guy looking to improve your overall health. Don't waste your money on a sub-standard product made for men and women. Give your body the best nutriments available with a multivitamin that is specifically formulated for a man.

Supplements for Teens - With Lee Labrada
Supplements for Teens - With Lee Labrada == FREE 12 WEEK PHYSIQUE TRANSFORMATION PROGRAM :http://www.labrada.com/12weekleanbody Ask Lee Q & A #1) http://www.labrada.com/asklee ALL Labrada supplements here: http://www.labrada.com/store/ Please feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding Fitness or Nutrition and I will be happy to try and answer them. Here's where you can ask.. http://www.labrada.com/asklee Hi I'm Lee Labrada, your lean body coach and welcome to this weeks ask Lee. This week's Ask Lee question is from Mike Peter, of Atlanta Georgia. Mike writes: QUESTION: " Lee, Both my teenage son and daughter are getting into bodybuilding. What are the best and safest supplements for teens?" ANSWER: Well Mike, as a father of three boys, I have been through the teenage years, and recognize your concerns about choosing safe supplements for your teenagers as they start weight training. My advice is to keep it as natural as possible, because safety comes first. Unfortunately there are many supplements on the market which are shady at best. Stick with the tried and true supplements which include a high quality protein supplement and a multivitamin. And remember that no supplement is going to take the place of good nutrition. Make sure that your youngster is eating a well-balanced diet that includes plenty of protein from lean meats such as chicken, fish, and lean cuts of beef, and plenty of complex carbohydrates, including sweet potatoes, oatmeal, potatoes, and rice and bean for example. For more information on a well-balanced athlete's diet, be sure to see my nutrition videos on the Labrada YouTube channel, and my articles on Labrada.com Once your youngster is eating a well-balanced diet, you can add a protein supplement taken in the form of a shake 1 to 2 times per day, along with a multivitamin taken with breakfast. We've had really good results with using Labrada's lean pro eight protein powder, as it contains high quality whey protein and has the earned the highest rating for its taste. If a teenager is going to use a protein supplement, it better taste good otherwise they're not going to use it. Two protein shakes per day can add up to 80 g of protein to the diet. Because most teenagers don't eat enough whole food proteins in their normal daily routine, the protein shakes can be very valuable for helping them to recover from weight training exercise, and providing plenty of building blocks for their young muscles. The multivitamin will give them nutritional insurance that they're getting the vitamins and minerals they need for growth. Finally, once your teenage athlete has been weight training and consistently consuming their protein shakes, you can add some creatine monohydrate to their daily diet, and this will assist with recovery and strength. Creatine is naturally produced in the body every day. A Creatine monohydrate supplement is safe as long as there are no pre-existing kidney problems, and the athlete stays well hydrated. It's important to drink lots of water when you are weight training anyway. Creatine has a history of being safe and effective, and I have given it to my own teenage boys since they were 15 years old. 2 to 3 g per day is plenty, taken with a meal. So there you have it a safe and effective supplementation program for teenagers. How Much Vitamin D Should I Take
http://utahtexans.com/ Click on the link above for a free report and video guide to shopping for dietary supplements! Today I'm going to be answering the question how much vitamin D should I take, as well why you really should care. Some health professionals believe that as much as 50-75% of the U.S. population is deficient in vitamin D or what some people call the sunshine vitamin. Worldwide perhaps a billion people. So who cares right? Well a deficiency has been linked to all kinds of health problems. This includes heart problems, weak bones, cancer as well as making it easier for a virus to make a home in your body. Traditionally many people got this vitamin through the sun, but do you see a problem with this? Yea, thanks to living in a modern society more people work indoors, drive cars and watch TV. To make matters even worse it's not easy to get through food. This is why a supplement can really be a great choice. Overdosing on vitamin D can occur, but it's really rare. Someone would have to take several thousand international units or IU for several months in a row to overdose. This is much higher than any supplement would recommend. The symptoms of an overdose could include nausea, headaches, frequent urination and the most serious condition would be kidney problems. When it comes to the ideal dose of vitamin D not everyone agrees, and the debate is still going on. The National Institutes of Health feel that adults should receive 200 IU daily. If someone is between 50 to 70 years of age then the dosage should be increased to 400 IU daily. Lastly if a person makes it to 70 years of age then they should get 600 IU every day. Some people feel this dosage should be increased like the famous American TV Dr. called Dr. OZ. He feels that adults should take 1,000 IU every day. Another very influential doctor called Dr. Weil recommends 2,000 IU every single day. Also the vitamin D Council recommends that healthy adults take 2,000 IU of vitamin D daily as well as Boston University Medical Center. Considering you need at least 5,000 IU of vitamin D to somewhat have a chance of an overdose taking 1,000 or 2,000 IU shouldn't pose a problem for many people. Next comes finding a good supplement to get this vitamin D. Contrary to what you may believe not all vitamins and supplements are the same. More bad news is that it's easy for companies to make crappy products that can actually harm people. To make shopping for dietary supplements simpler and easier I have created a video guide on the topic. This guide goes over 10 warning signs of a risky product, what to take for certain medical problems, herbal remedies and even some crazy alternative health ideas that actually work. Oh, and before I forget this guide is completely free so you don't have any good reason not to at least learn more about it. You can check out this guide by clicking on the link http://texasvitamins.com/go/youtube.html

Low vitamin D danger!
Millions of British people are at risk of developing serious health conditions because of low vitamin D levels declares a new scientific review commissioned by the Health Supplements Information Service (HSIS). Despite the proven health benefits of vitamin D, about three quarters of British adults fail to reach even their basic requirements thanks to poor dietary intakes and a lack of sun in this country. Now nutrition experts are calling for the shortfall in our diets to be made up by improved dietary intakes and vitamin D supplementation. As studies show, supplementation has a guaranteed effect on vitamin D status. In this latest study review, called Health Impacts of Vitamin D: Are We Getting Enough?, independent researchers analysed the current evidence surrounding vitamin D. The aims were to identify the main health benefits associated with the vitamin and to explore issues surrounding optimal daily intakes. Leading dietitian, Dr Carrie Ruxton, and senior lecturer in Human Nutrition at Manchester Metropolitan University, Dr Emma Derbyshire, reviewed more than 100 published research papers relating to the potential power of vitamin D, mechanisms to explain its benefits, vitamin D intakes and recommendations. Their paper will be published in the June issue of Nutrition Bulletin, the journal of the British Nutrition Foundation. Scientific research suggests that vitamin D plays an important role in helping combat a host of serious health conditions, including cancer, heart disease, multiple sclerosis and immune disorders, as well as boosting bone health. Recent research work has linked vitamin D deficiency with a significantly increased risk of poor mental and physical health. Normally vitamin D is produced by the body following skin exposure to sunlight. However, the northern latitude of the UK means that adequate access to sunlight is only possible over 7 months of the year. During the winter months, there is simply not enough sunlight to stimulate our bodies to make vitamin D. An increased awareness of the risks of skin cancer has also limited typical skin sun exposure levels, as have cultural reasons for covering the skin. A regular intake of vitamin D-rich foods or a multivitamin rich in vitamin D can help enhance our skin production. Good food sources include oily fish, meat, fats and spreads, breakfast cereals, dairy products and eggs. However, consumption of many of these foods has declined in recent years. For example, in 1974, the average person bought 147g a week of butter compared with just 41g a week in 2007. Currently in the UK, there are no recommended intake levels of vitamin D for most adults. The European Union recommends a daily intake of 5µg (micrograms) for food labelling purposes, while the European Food Safety Authority suggests a maximum of 25µg a day for children and 50µg a day for 12 to 70 year olds. Dr Ruxton and Dr Derbyshire found that in the UK, 71 per cent of men and 78 per cent of women failed to reach even 5µg of vitamin D intake a day, with an average of just 3.7µg for men and 2.8µg for women. The recommended safe upper level in America, Australia and New Zealand is 80µg a day, but studies now suggest that levels of 500 to 1,000µg a day may well be safe. One study reported that to lower the risk of osteoporotic bone fractures, adults needed to take at least 55µg of vitamin D through diet, in addition to usual sun exposure. Commenting on the latest review commissioned by HSIS, Dr Ruxton says: There is a growing body of literature to show that vitamin D is important for maintaining health and lowering the risk of some chronic diseases. A better vitamin D status appears to be linked with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and inflammatory conditions, and less cognitive impairment in older people. Taking the evidence as a whole, a rather worrying picture emerges implying that British adults and children are at increased risk of chronic disease due to vitamin D insufficiency. We need to re-examine UK dietary recommendations for vitamin D, which were originally informed by research from the 1960s and 1970s. In particular, vitamin D recommendations for those unlikely to achieve sufficient sun exposure, or those with particular health needs, need to be addressed. We also need to address declining intakes of foods rich in vitamin D. Most people are still failing to eat enough oily fish or low fat dairy foods which are useful sources of the vitamin. Vitamin supplementation such as taking a daily multivitamin rich in vitamin D could play a useful role in addressing low vitamin D intakes as studies show they help boost vitamin D levels in the blood. Not everyone gets all the nutrients they need from their diet so a multivitamin containing vitamin D can be a good insurance policy while long-term dietary changes are being made. For more information on vitamins and minerals visit www.HSIS.org.uk.

Best supplements for men: Take this vitamin daily to help prevent heart disease
If you're new, Subscribe! → https://bit.ly/2sH1zbw Supplements have increased in popularity over the years, and while most people don’t need to take them and are able to get all the vitamins and minerals they need by eating a healthy, balanced diet, health experts recommend them to people who are at risk of deficiency. So what are the best supplements for men to take? Vitamin D, vitamin B12, magnesium, potassium, and omega-3 fish oil are among the ranks. But one in particular, recommended by nutritionist Dr Josh Axe, is vitamin K. Vitamin K is important for building and maintaining strong bones, blood clotting, and preventing heart disease. But why might a man be low in this vitamin? The Dr Josh Axe website explains: “Vitamin K deficiency is more common in men who don’t regularly consume veggies or dairy products, those who have been taking antibiotics or medications for an extended period of time, and men suffering from intestinal problems, such as IBS or inflammatory bowel disease, which interfere with absorption. ”Vitamin K1 is found in many green vegetables, while vitamin K2 is found in dairy products. The site adds: “The best way to prevent vitamin K deficiency is to eat plenty of different veggies, including green leafy vegetables, broccoli, collards and cabbage, plus some wild-caught fish and cage-free eggs too. ”How much vitamin K do you need to take? The NHS advises that adults need approximately 1mcg a day of vitamin K for each kilogram of their body weight. For example, someone who weighs 65kg would need 65mcg a day of vitamin K, while a person who weighs 75kg would need 75mcg a day. The health body adds: “You should be able to get all the vitamin K you need by eating a varied and balanced diet. “Any vitamin K your body doesn’t need immediately is stored in the liver for future use, so you don’t need it in your diet every day. ”There are a variety of supplements available to help with more specific health issues men experience, such as stiff joints, hair loss and to boost energy levels. Another supplement popular among men are those that improve fitness.A clinical trial, published in The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness, tested 54 male triathletes and found participants improved their 100 minute triathlon by 10 minutes, over a four week course of taking natural pine bark extract Pycnogenol. Providing comment on the results, lead researcher Dr. Gianni Belcaro said: “This study provides evidence that daily supplementation of Pycnogenol offers a natural approach to help reduce post-workout muscular pain, increase levels of physical performance and get you training again sooner. ”He continued: “Pycnogenol, along with good training and proper nutrition, may help to significantly improve physical fitness and reduce oxidative stress and muscular pain in both those who exercise recreationally and triathletes. ”Pycnogenol is available from health food stores throughout the UK and online. What supplements are best for healthy joint function, hair growth and low libido?  .

Should Vegetarians Take Vitamin B-12? | Health Supplements
Watch more Nutritional Supplements videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/498428-Should-Vegetarians-Take-Vitamin-B12-Health-Supplements Should vegetarians take B12 or cholamine? The answer is probably gonna be yes. Because based on your level of vegetarianism, like a vegan, you're not gonna get enough B12 unless you're gonna be eating fortified cereals, there's other products that contain B12 but in general but it's really important for energy production in the body and you know you're not going to get enough of it cause usually you're gonna get it from meats. And if you're not gonna be eating meat, then I would recommend a B12 but, now let me take a step back and say that really everybody should be taking a multivitamin. A good multivitamin, mineral, and if that's the case you're gonna have B12 in there and you're probably gonna be set. The physicians committee for responsible medicine also recommend that vegetarians take a B12 supplement because it can only help again if you're gonna take a fortified cereal, you're probably pretty good but again, it's a water soluble and if you're not, if you're taking in more, there's not gonna be an issue. You're body is just gonna excrete it.

Ask Tana - Supplements for Kids
Health Boosters- The Real Deal On Supplements for Kids Why? How much? Which ones?… are some of the frequently asked questions I get when it comes to kids and supplements. Summer can be a great opportunity to make healthy changes or refocus your families’ health routines. Or, better yet, if you don’t have a health routine, now is the time to start one. Typically, we don’t think of kids needing supplements but what we don’t realize is that our bodies do not get everything they need from food alone. Supplements can pick up where food leaves off; giving our bodies some of the extra firepower needed to fight the everyday assaults of environmental toxins. However, it’s important to remember that supplements can’t take the place of important health supporting habits such as getting adequate sleep, regular exercise, and drinking enough water. Let’s admit that none of us lives a perfect life. Even if you and your children eat 10 servings of organic fruit and vegetables every day, consume proper amounts of lean protein, avoid sugar and other dietary toxins, and drink plenty of water, you may still be short on some important nutrients. And, think of what you’re missing if you’re not eating that kind of high-quality diet every day! This is where supplements come in; they help to fill in the nutritional gaps that exist in just about everyone’s diet. The good news is that they do a fantastic job filling those gaps. Let me be clear, supplements can’t replace a healthy diet. We all need a solid nutritional foundation provided by consuming nutrient-dense foods, but the key is to know what supplements you should be taking to optimize your health. For overall well-being, I recommend that everyone take: Daily Multivitamins Omega 3 Fish Oil Vitamin D Probiotic Summer can be a great opportunity to make healthy changes or refocus your families’ health routines. Or, better yet, if you don’t have a health routine, now is the time to start one. This week’s video focuses on my 3 tips for incorporating supplements into your child’s morning breakfast routine. It doesn’t need to be complicated and it shouldn’t be a battle. Blending these key supplements into a morning smoothie is the best strategy that works for my family, but do what works best for you! Tip 1- Breakfast Smoothie (multivitamin, fish oil, vitamin D, probiotic) Tip 2- Almond butter maple syrup ball (coconut butter or cocoa powder) Tip 3- Special Bonus Recipe is my Avocado Gelato! Clink the link below to access this bonus recipe content available on my website: http://www.amenlifestyle.com/tana-s-recipes/amazing-avocado-gelato/ Try one or all of these strategies and post a picture of you and your family enjoying them! It is an essential element for development of bones and teeth as well as many intracellular signaling processes. Normal calcium levels are required for normal vascular function, muscle activity, nerve transmission, intracellular signaling and hormonal secretion. More than 99% of calcium is stored in the bones and teeth, and only 1% or less is circulating for other purposes. Calcium metabolism is tightly regulated by the body and in most healthy individuals, it will not fluctuate much between dietary intakes. Your body depends on magnesium, phosphorous, vitamin D and vitamin K for proper balance of your calcium levels. Because of this, as you can imagine, malnourished individuals are at risk of having low calcium. Other factors, such as age, chronic diseases and certain medications can affect calcium absorption and metabolism. Certain things may enhance calcium absorption, such as carbohydrates, while others such as coffee and cigarette smoking may impede it. Once absorbed, bone continuously undergoes remodeling, with constant reabsorption of calcium and deposition of calcium into new bone. In children, deposition exceeds resorption, leading to bone growth at the growth plates. In adults, this process is typically in equilibrium until we get into the later years of life, particularly in postmenopausal women where reabsorption exceeds deposition. Dietary intake and supplementation is most closely linked with prevention or treatment of osteoporosis, but also appears to help with pre-menstrual syndrome, preventing pre-eclampsia in pregnancy, and treating hypoparathyroidism It may help with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, stroke and certain cancer preventions but more research is needed. Deficiency in children is termed rickets, in adults it increases your risk of osteopenia and osteoporosis leading to fractures The best dietary sources are cheeses, dairy, yogurt, soy, sardines and orange juice The recommended daily allowance varies somewhat depending on age, gender and pregnancy status but is roughly 1000-1200 mg per day.

What Is The Right Amount Of Vitamin B12 To Take Daily
What Is The Right Amount Of Vitamin B12 To Take Daily https://www.anoasisofhealing.com/how-much-vitamin-b12-do-i-need/ A question I’m asked a lot is what is the right amount of vitamin b12 to take daily? How many micrograms of b12 should we consume when being on a whole foods plant based diet? The recommendations based on certain studies that you read recommend 2 to 7 micrograms of b12 a day. However, we actually need to take more than that because of the different abilities to absorb. You can take 50, 100 and as much as 1,000 micrograms a day of vitamin b12 depending on your ability to absorb. You can follow your b12 levels to find out what’s really being absorbed and how much you really need. The body only needs 2 to 7 micrograms of b12 absorbed per day for optimal functioning. What does b12 actually do in the body? It’s involved in the central nervous system and in the peripheral nervous system in its growth and development. It is also part of what is necessary to make blood and red blood cells. It’s involved in dna synthesis and has many other functions and activities it’s involved with in the body. It is very important and every cells uses it. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgEvpazxx5NNyyGd_19VJRmmhR-Mzacvy https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCR0Y7icMoXgQZaepRkJlHzg/videos
