Gray Jays Make A Pit Stop In Ontario – Nov. 20, 2017

01:33
The Gray Jay is a bird equipped to thrive in the cold winter temperatures the northern boreal forests. These curious corvids have incredibly thick, fluffy plumage that it puffs up in cold weather, enveloping its legs and feet. Even its nostrils are covered with feathers! Watch online with highlight clips and information about the birds at http://allaboutbirds.org/feederwatchcam Thanks to Perky-Pet for helping to make the Ontario FeederWatch Cam possible! The FeederWatch cam is located in a residential neighborhood in Manitouwadge, Ontario. This northern site is an excellent location to see winter finches like redpolls and grosbeaks as well as two species of Jays and even Ruffed Grouse! The feeders sit in the middle of a large backyard with a large birch tree that the birds love, as well as a mixed stand of conifers and several fruit and berry producing shrubs. There’s a small swamp just beyond the backyard as well as larger stands of woods and a small lake. The feeder system is the product of the camera hosts’ ingenuity, making use of plastic piping to support the feeders high enough above ground to foil the occasional squirrel, and a rotating set of feeders that provide black oil sunflower seeds, nyjer seed, whole and shelled peanuts, and peanut butter suet in a homemade hanging log to the dozens of species that visit. About the Hosts Tammie and Ben Hache have been members of Project FeederWatch since 2002, meticulously counting their backyard birds to help better understand what birds are doing throughout the winter. The years of FeederWatching have brought amazing views to the Haches; some of the highlights included counts with over 200 Evening Grosbeaks seen at once, high counts of 20+ Hoary Redpolls, an extremely out-of-range White-winged Dove, and the constant buzzing of hummingbirds in the summer. A winter of bird feeding requires a lot of food, too—last year over 750 lb of sunflower seeds were consumed by the hungry birds! About Project FeederWatch Project FeederWatch is a winter-long survey of birds that visit feeders at backyards, nature centers, community areas, and other locales in North America. FeederWatchers periodically count the birds they see at their feeders from November through early April and send their counts to Project FeederWatch. FeederWatch data help scientists track broadscale movements of winter bird populations and long-term trends in bird distribution and abundance. Anyone with an interest in birds can participate in Project FeederWatch! There are people of all skill levels and backgrounds conducting FeederWatch counts, including children, families, individuals, classrooms, retired persons, youth groups, nature centers, and bird clubs. OCNI Corporate Video

05:16
OCNI - Voice of the Canadian nuclear supply chain organization discussing Four Strategic Areas, Mission, Vision and goals of the organization. Membership benefits, member events and trade missions.OCNI was founded in 1979, and is the leading and trusted voice of the Canadian nuclear supply chain. OCNI has four strategic priorities: The first is to strengthen linkages between member companies and utilities; The second is to increase supplier readiness for refurbishment/MCR projects in Ontario; Our third is to develop international opportunities for member companies, and, our fourth strategic priority is to advocate with government and the public for an expanded role for nuclear power in Canada. We’re proud to unveil our updated logo - one that reflects a progressive, forward-thinking organization that is supporting both current refurbishment projects in Ontario and the Province's long-term energy plan. OCNI’s mission is centered on strong promotion of the Canadian nuclear industry for the benefit of our members and the global environment. The services and support we offer enables our members to be successful in the domestic and global nuclear industry. From trade missions to technological co-operation, OCNI connects people, first and foremost – people whose visions, ideas and abilities actively advance nuclear technology, and have made Canada globally recognized for innovation in the nuclear industry and in promoting action on climate change. Domestically, OCNI advocates on behalf of its members to utilities in Ontario and throughout Canada. Supplier day events give utilities a chance to meet one-on-one under one roof with our diverse range of members. These events help utilities select suppliers so they may efficiently and cost-effectively manage the massive amount of reactor refurbishment taking place over the coming decades. At OCNI, we also deliver pertinent government and industry news to our members, keeping them up-to-date on information that is essential to their success. The nuclear industry is an excellent example of how Canada has created a strong presence in the global knowledge economy, thanks to the way we have helped science & technology collaborate with trade and foreign affairs. OCNI also works in partnership with other organizations, like the Canadian Nuclear Association, CANDU Owner’s Group, Canadian Nuclear Society, and Women in Nuclear to enhance the global impact of Canadian nuclear ingenuity in projects across the globe. An increased focus on trade missions has been of great value to our members, too. These missions have drawn increased global attention to the strength of our Canadian Nuclear supply chain. OCNI continues to collaborate with federal and provincial politicians and has helped improve their knowledge and appreciation of the remarkable value of the Canadian nuclear industry. In an era when climate change is motivating an intense global search for solutions, we feel it is imperative to educate the public and governments on the benefits of why nuclear energy makes good environmental sense. Nuclear power has one of the lowest impacts on the environment of any energy source, since it does not emit air pollution and its waste products are isolated from the environment. The Bruce Power and Darlington site combined avoid 41 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually which is equivalent to taking 8 million cars off the road. This is an exiting time for OCNI member companies, as we move into a massive project phase of reactor refurbishment that will last for more than a decade. Our members are positioned and ready for their collective role in these projects. The Conference Board of Canada, estimates the project and subsequent 30 years of station operation will preserve about 3,000 jobs and generate a total of $89.9 billion in economic benefits for Ontario. To ensure growth of the skill sets that will drive the industry for years to come, we offer ongoing bursary programs – to UOIT, McMaster and four colleges – for education and skills training initiatives that will prepare a new generation of highly skilled women and men. OCNI – the definitive voice of our members and the Canadian nuclear supply chain.

Smoky Mountains: Winter Backpacking--4 Days--Hiking and Camping in the Cold

35:42
Another long backpacking trip in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park -- this time in the snow! I took four days in early February, 2016, to explore the Southwestern reaches of the park: the Twentymile Trail, the Lost Cove Trail, and the Lakeshore Trail. I spent the nights at campsites 77, 81, and 93. I camped with a tarp and got some snow on the trip. In the video I also feature the Calhoun House, Proctor Cemetery, Fontana Lake, and more . . . Hope you like the video! Drug Coverage 101 | Presented by Yvonne Ta

27:39
Feed your mind and your body as you listen to Princess Margaret's physicians and researchers speak on a variety of cancer topics. Yvonne Ta, Medication Reimbursement Specialist at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre offers information about drug coverage in Ontario and how it works, what you need to know about drug coverage from your private insurance, and how to move your drug plan ahead to avoid delaying treatment. Learn more about these and other drug coverage by watching Yvonne Ta’s full talk at: http://www.ThePrincessMargaret.ca/LunchAndLearn. Yvonne explained that roughly 50% of newer cancer drugs are taken at home. OHIP does not pay for drugs taken outside of the hospital. However, there are drug coverage programs that may help you pay for your cancer drugs. You can get drug coverage through: • Private insurance (through your workplace or you can buy insurance yourself) • Provincial insurance (provided by the province of Ontario) Visit us at http://www.theprincessmargaret.ca?utm...) Provincial Coverage Two drug coverage programs Yvonne talked about were the Ontario Drug Benefit Program and the Trillium Drug Program. Ontario Drug Benefit Program The Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) Program covers the cost of oral and injectable drugs that are taken at home. But for the drug to be covered, it must be on a list of approved drugs called the ODB Formulary. To use the program, you need to be one or more of the following: • 65 years or older • Part of the Ontario Works (OW) Program or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) • Getting home care (nursing support at home). Not all people getting home care can use the ODB Program, a nurse case manager will review your case and decide. The ODB is also a short-term answer because once you stop getting home care, you will no longer be able to use the ODB Program. Trillium Drug Program The Trillium Drug Program can help people who: • Do not have enough drug coverage to afford their medicine • Cannot use the ODB Program Medical Reimbursement Specialists can also help Princess Margaret patients: • Find and apply for coverage, including ones for unfunded drugs • Fill out insurance forms • Review your private insurance to see what kind of coverage you have To find out more information please visit: http://www.ThePrincessMargaret.ca/LunchAndLearn Visit us at http://www.theprincessmargaret.ca?utm_source=Youtube&utm_medium=%2BLink%2Bin%2BPost&utm_campaign=Ongoing%2BSocial%2BMedia%2B(PMCC)

How Can You Plan for Long Term Care?

01:51
http://www.advancedplanningfinancial.com (949) 474-8440 Statistics say there is a seventy percent chance that you or your spouse will experience a need for long-term care! Long-term care includes a range of services and supports you may need to meet your personal care needs. Most long-term care is not medical care, but rather assistance with the basic personal tasks of everyday life, sometimes called Activities of Daily Living (or ADLs). These include Bathing, Dressing, Using the toilet, Transferring to or from bed or chairs, Caring for incontinence, and Eating. Other common long-term care services and supports are assistance with everyday tasks, sometimes called Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (or IADLs) These include Housework, Managing money, Taking medication, Preparing and cleaning up after meals, Shopping for groceries or clothes, Using the telephone or other communication devices, Caring for pets and Responding to emergency alerts such as fire alarms. The cost of Long-Term care varies with the amount of coverage, length of care, and deductibles. The initial premium level will increase based upon the age at which you apply. Like all insurance, most people wait too long before applying. 1 in 4 who apply between the ages of 60 and69, don’t qualify. You owe it to yourself and family to know the options and prepare well today. Call us to find out more. https://youtu.be/8ru8s5iVRUc

The Final Day of Wildwater Kingdom - Aurora, Ohio (Geauga Lake)

19:37
7.21.18 Update: If you'd like to ride Liquid Lightning again, it's been reconstructed as High Noon Typhoon at Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark (Tannersville, Pennsylvania). Make sure to check out 23jcrosby12's playlist of the reconstruction of Liquid Lightning! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjetOXaLDHufq31ikRFIdExNvNgdWumer Date Recorded: September 5th, 2016 I recorded this walking tour to help preserve the park for historical reference. I left the original audio which means that there are songs that I do not own that were playing in the background around the park. This was recorded on the final day of operation and partially as the park was closed. You can see on the clock that it was after 7 PM, which was the planned closing time. There was no rush for anyone to leave though, all of the employees were very kind and accommodating of everyone taking photos and videos. I have memories of this park when it was SeaWorld and also being able to see it while visiting Geauga Lake. You can see remnants of both of these parks in the video. It's unfortunate that it is now closed but sometimes difficult and unpopular business decisions have to be made. This will be the first time in 129 years that a park of some kind has not been in operation around Geauga Lake. This is longer than many regular videos, but I wanted to share the sense of being at the park and getting to see almost the whole park. I hope you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching. Be sure to search for Geauga Lake, SeaWorld Ohio, SeaWorld Cleveland, Six Flags Ohio, Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, and Wildwater Kingdom to find out even more about this great piece of history. Here is the statement about the park closing from Wildwater Kingdom's website. (https://www.wildwaterfun.com) "Cedar Fair Entertainment Company has announced that Wildwater Kingdom water park in Aurora, Ohio, will not reopen after the 2016 season. Its final day of operation will be Monday, September 5. Cedar Fair has been working cooperatively with both Bainbridge Township and the City of Aurora to redevelop the entire property into what will best benefit the surrounding communities. After examining its long-range plans, Cedar Fair has determined that the time is right to begin this transition and will continue to work together with community leadership in the positive future development of the property. Cedar Fair would like to thank the residents of Northeast Ohio for supporting Wildwater Kingdom each summer." Here is more information about each major attraction at the park from Wildwater Kingdom's website. (https://www.wildwaterfun.com) All of these were included in the video. Coral Cove - Blast your friends with water, climb on the giant floating turtle and then, challenge them to a game of water basketball. You'll find hours of fun for big and little squirts! Liquid Lightning - Climb into a raft with three fellow thrill seekers and take the 60 foot plunge on Liquid Lightning. You'll fly down an enclosed slide into an enormous funnel where you'll spiral into a soak-tacular finale. Riptide Run - Grab an inner tube, kick back and relax on Riptide Run - a 1,100-foot long lazy river. It's the perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day. Splash Landing - Never before have you found yourself in a place so dedicated to getting you wet. Splash Landing has four stories of water slides, soaking gadgets, geysers, water cannons and a giant bucket dropping 1,000 gallons of water every few minutes. Thunder Falls - Are you brave enough to climb the 100-foot tower to plunge down one of three enclosed body slides or four inner tube slides? You'll twist and turn down Ohio's tallest water slide and splash into a refreshing pool at the bottom. Tidal Wave Bay - The fun comes in waves! Bounce and splash in this 390,000 gallon wave pool guaranteed to bring you hours of fun. If waves aren't your style - relax in a VIP cabana or catch some rays on a nearby beach chair. Information below about how I created this video. I used Hyperlapse from Instagram to record and help stabilize the video. To record at 1080p I used the hidden settings menu, here is a tutorial on how to access it: http://petapixel.com/2014/10/10/video-access-secret-settings-instagrams-hyperlapse-app/ I recorded using an iPhone 6 mounted in a RetiCAM® Smartphone Tripod Mount connected to a Joby Suction Cup & GorillaPod Arm. http://reticam.com/product/smartphone-tripod-mount-standard.php http://joby.com/action-series/suction-cup-with-gorillapod-arm For basic editing and title creation I used iMovie, Final Cut Pro X, and Motion. For the titles in this video I used the font: SIMPLIFICA Typeface - K A I W A https://www.behance.net/gallery/14209843/SIMPLIFICA-Typeface-Free

Ice Fish Nipissing Late Season Perch Mar 4 2018

15:48
After a dismal day previous, we rallied for a win. We fished and made plans for the Season Finale next weekend. Its been a fun year, but the Perch counts are way down. We have been hoping for a Walleye greater than 18.1 so that we could have a Pickerel dinner but so far NOT. Anyways, the long range forecast is for us to tie it all in a nice bow next weekend, complete with Pickerel dinner and a limit of Jumbo Perch...lol
Leupold "VX3i" 6.5-20x50mm Side Focus (CDS) Target Rifle Scope

18:48
The Leopold VX3i 6.5-20x50 Target Scope is naturally ideal for long range shooting. The Custom Dial System (CDS) makes it easy to range your target and simply dial the corresponding number for that distance. My scope has been customised with the tactical turret knobs as well as the CDS system for the Federal 168gr Match ammunition. These scopes retail for around $1500 and the tactical knobs $250 and are imported by NIOA: http://www.nioa.com.au Music by: Silent Partner Songname: Watch it Glow This music is part of the YouTube audio library.

Retire With Jim Hanna Wealth Advisors: Financial Advisors in San Antonio

01:45
#FinancialAdvice #PersonalFinance #Investing #Investments #WealthManagement #FinancialServices #RetirementPlanning Visit Retire With Jim Hanna Wealth Advisors at https://retirewithjimhanna.com IS YOUR MONEY READY FOR RETIREMENT? Plans are useless, but planning is indispensable. “President Eisenhower’s sage battlefield advice is just as important for individuals nearing retirement,” says Jim Hanna, the founder of Retire with Jim Hanna Wealth Advisors in San Antonio Texas. “Unfortunately, many people unnecessarily delay retirement planning decisions that should be made early.” Hanna takes clients through a systematic process designed to demystify planning, starting with getting a clear idea of what they want their money to do for them. Secondly, Hanna carefully educates families, so they will understand where their assets are. “With an overabundance of financial information available in the media, longtime investors often find themselves owning insurance and investment products that may no longer serve them well. At the same time, important considerations have fallen through the cracks,” he explains. “Savvy investors are now replacing the idea of building large nest eggs with making a cohesive retirement plan that helps create predictable sources of income to cover the costs of health care and a good quality of life without concern of outliving their assets.” ~Jim Hanna - President of Retire With Jim Hanna Wealth Advisors VETERANS HELPING VETERANS A Vietnam War Era Veteran, Hanna began his career in insurance and annuities in 1981 building a reputation as a trusted member of the area’s military community. “Our Veterans put everything at risk to protect our freedom, we can’t repay them for their sacrifice, but we can give back to them as they have given for us. Information is the focus of my practice,” says Hanna who conducts seminars on taxes, Social Security, retirement and other topics through local colleges. “This is the first generation of retirees who haven’t had pensions to rely on. It’s new territory, and retirement seems more like a DIY project. We’re here to make sure no one has to go it alone. We’ll give the information needed to help make critical decisions, using the proper mix of appropriate tools, and at the right time.” Retire with Jim Hanna Wealth Advisors is a single source for a very wide range of advice, financial products and service, each customized to the specific needs of the individual. As an Investment Adviser Representative with AE Wealth Management, LLC, Jim Hanna provides money management services, with an eye toward potentially minimizing tax exposure. Jim Hanna is a licensed insurance agent with extensive knowledge with life, long-term care strategies, annuities and more. Jim Hanna is perhaps best known for his innovative approach to unusual problems clients often face. Reaching way outside the box, he strives to find creative solutions to help address complex issues typical advisors rarely tackle. “The truth is, no one is sure when he or she will be retiring. A company downsizing, a debilitating illness, or death can occur at any time. It’s never comfortable, but families must honestly talk about what life would be like after a loss and make plans to deal with the aftermath,” says Hanna whose book, Your Path to Financial Wellness, is an easy-to-read guide for discussing these difficult subjects. “Before you make any retirement plans – preferably 5-10 years before retirement – families must set their priorities and identify steps they need to take before they can retire. Simply hoping you’ll have enough money to last through retirement isn’t a strategy. Our mission is to educate you and give you the right tools to reach your goals,” concludes Hanna. Mayor Drew Dilkens Invites Residents to Participate in the Sewer Master Plan

02:20
Over the past few years, thousands of Windsor residents were impacted by flooding both in and around their homes. In early fall 2017, the Mayor released an 8-Point Plan aimed to assist the Windsor community to address flooding issues. A key element of the plan is completing the City's Sewer Master Plan. The Master Plan will confirm the areas that are vulnerable to flooding, identify reasons for the flooding, generate and evaluate short and long-term alternative solutions, and develop a long-range implementation strategy to manage flooding in the City. Your participation in the Sewer Master Plan process will improve the results and help us create a plan that we can implement together. Find out more about the project and tell us your flooding story by visiting the project web site: www.weatheringthestorm.ca

MAJOR STORM to wreak havoc in USA & CANADA Friday-Tuesday

09:35
https://www.paypal.me/THORnews THORNEWS PO BOX 35946 HOUSTON TEXAS https://www.patreon.com/thornews @newTHOR on twitter https://www.facebook.com/THORnewsthornews This Storm will be trouble over already troubled areas. God bless everyone, T articles on storm https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/storm-to-unleash-severe-weather-disruptive-snow-over-central-us-late-this-week/70004635 Storm to unleash severe weather, disruptive snow over central US late this week A multi-faceted storm will slam the central United States late this week with possible blizzard conditions to the north and severe thunderstorms to the south. The same system will also be responsible for a surge of heat and wind over the Southwest and south-central U.S. that will elevate the risk of wildfires. Severe storms may threaten 1,000-mile-long swath of central US Warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico will be pulled northward across the nation’s midsection ahead of the storm. Along the line dividing the warmth with an advancing push of cooler air, thunderstorms will erupt late Friday. “The best potential for severe weather Friday will be eastern portions of the southern Plains through western portions of the middle and lower Mississippi Valley,” said AccuWeather Storm Warning Meteorologist Kayla St. Germain. Depending on the exact track and timing of the storm, severe weather may be possible as far north as Iowa and southern Minnesota. St. Germain expects damaging winds and large hail to be the primary threats from these storms. However, she cannot rule out a few tornadoes. Downpours from the storms may overwhelm storm drains and lead to street flooding, while frequent lightning will endanger anyone caught outdoors. During Saturday, the risk for severe weather may shift eastward and threaten outdoor plans from a portion of the Ohio Valley to the Gulf Coast. Snow, wind may trigger localized blizzard conditions in northern Plains A rebound in temperatures ahead of the storm should not have residents of the northern Plains and Upper Midwest putting away the snow boots and shovels just yet. Following a swath of snow that will sweep across the upper Great Lakes Wednesday into Thursday, the next storm could bring a late-season blizzard to the northern Plains, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski. Plummeting temperatures will lay the groundwork for a swath of snow to set up on the storm’s northwestern flank. “It will look more like February than April in the northern Plains,” said AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok. Enough snow to shovel and plow may fall from the Dakotas and Nebraska through a portion of Minnesota, Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan from Friday into the weekend. Snowfall may top a foot in part of this swath. In some areas, rain or a wintry mix will precede the snow. There is the potential for a prolonged period of sleet and/or freezing rain across the upper Great Lakes and into southeastern Canada with the storm. People with plans to travel along interstates 29, 35, 90 and 94 during the late week and weekend should anticipate delays, reduced visibility from blowing snow, slick and snow-covered roads and possible closures. Flight delays and cancellations are likely to mount across the region, including at Minneapolis-St.Paul International Airport. Residents of and travelers through the areas at risk for snow and severe weather should continue to check back with AccuWeather for updates over the coming days.
