How To Drive A Manual Car for Beginners Step by Step :: Lesson #1

21:03
The basic skill for learning to drive a manual car is clutch control. Learn how here - watch the video. SUBSCRIBE TODAY! ► http://youtube.com/c/smartdrivetest See Topics Below. This video is for absolute beginners. The two hardest gears to learn in a manual car are first and reverse. Introduction 0:03 Prologue 2:50 Shift Pattern 3:04 How a Transmission Works - Basics 5:26 Finding the Friction (Biting) Point 8:27 Exercise #1 - Finding the Friction Point (Biting Point) 9:13 Exercise #2 - Moving the Vehicle 12:38 Conclusion 17:07 Question: Do you have exercises for students to learn clutch control? 19:55 Blooper 20:42 A shift pattern for any manual transmission is a basic 'H' pattern. And the transmission pattern or shift pattern is the same regardless of whether you're driving a left-hand or right-hand drive vehicle. First and second gear will be on the left side of the shift pattern. Third and fourth gear will be in the middle of the shift pattern and often, fifth and reverse will be on the right side of the gear box. Most standard transmissions will be a 5-speed. Vehicle manufacturers are beginning to make 6- and even 7-speed transmissions, but if you can drive a 5-speed the other transmission configurations are straight forward. Know that the shifter is designed to rest at the middle gears when in neutral. Thus to go to first and second you need to push/pull the selector to the left, and to go to fifth gear--and often reverse--you have to push/pull the gear selector to the right. When learning to drive a manual transmission it is important to isolate the clutch and learn to find the friction point - the point where the clutch connects the engine with the drive train and the vehicle begins to move forward. As I said this is the absolute first lesson, and you are only going to learn clutch control. Without clutch control, you are going to have difficulty driving a manual car well. EXERCISE #1 - with the parking brake applied, simply bring the clutch out to the friction point, let the engine revs drop a couple hundred rpm and then push the clutch back in. Do this exercise for both first gear and reverse gear. Do it approximately 30 times for each gear. EXERCISE #2 – this exercise moves the vehicle forward with just the clutch. Put your right foot on the brake and put the gear selector into a forward gear. Keep your right foot on the brake, both hands on the steering wheel, and bring the clutch out to the friction point and hold. When the engine bogs down a bit, release the brake because now the vehicle is being held by the clutch. Slowing bring the clutch out through the friction zone until you are able to completely take your foot off the clutch. Because the most vehicles are electronic fuel injection, these will not stall. The engine will torque up when more power is called forward. When the vehicle rolls forward, push the clutch in and engage the brake to stop the vehicle. Do this exercise approximately 30 times for both first and reverse. These are the fundamental exercises for learning clutch control. After you learn clutch control, the rest of the gears and driving a manual transmission are fairly easy. But without clutch control, it will be difficult to drive a manual car. Spend the time here on the fundamentals and you will find that you can competently drive a manual transmission within a few hours. *********************** www.smartdrivetest.com www.facebook.com/smartdrivetest www.twitter.com/smartdrivetest www.instagram.com/smartdrivetest/

All-new 2019 VW Jetta review--MORE CAR FOR LE$$

06:45
The all-new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta is now based on the same MQB platform as the current VW Golf. The new Jetta sedan is slightly larger than the outgoing model, so even though it has a sleeker look, the interior is bigger for all passengers. One of the hallmarks of the Jetta has been the huge trunk and this new model does not disappoint. In fact, the Jetta is the largest sedan in the compact class. The VW Jetta comes with one engine, a turbocharged 1.4L 4-cylinder with 147hp and 184lb.-ft. of torque. the big change is the additional gears in the manual and automatic transmission. the Manual is now a 6-speed, the auto is an 8-speed unit. The Vw Jetta has room for 5-passengers and the front passengers get standard heated seats and optional heated rear seats and steering wheel. The dash is fitted with a standard 6.5-inch head unit with Apple Car Play and Android Auto and a backup camera. The higher trims get an 8-inch unit. There is an optional 10.25-inch digital dash with configurable setup. In Canada the Jetta starts at $20,995 for the manual, $22,395 for the automatic. The Driver assist package is the optional safety package with the latest advanced safety systems for $995. Norton Tutorial: Exclude Files & Folders Auto/Manual Scans

01:12
Read the full written tutorial here: http://www.joshuacasper.com/blog-post/norton-exclude-folders/ This is a short easy video tutorial on how to exclude files and folders from Norton Anti-Virus Auto Protection and Manual Scans. I recently downloaded a .zip file containing a large number of obscure file extensions and Norton lost its mind! IT quickly began auto removing everything. They were all "low-level" risks, but I had to manually undue each file... and there were over 100. Needless to say that wasn't fun. The best thing to do in these cases is to make a "i know this shit is safe" folder somewhere on your computer and add that folder and all its subfolders and files to the exclusion list for manual scans and the auto protection feature. That is what I am going to show you how to do in this tutorial. I figured I would make this tutorial because I couldn't find any up-to-date information on how to do it. It's 2016 and there should be a tutorial on youtube by now right?? Watch the Video Tutorial Written Tutorial Below the Video [youtube id="os8gTlAZQxA"] The Process First Open up the Norton Security Center. Click on the Settings menu option. how-to-exclude-folder-norton-anti-virus Open Norton and Click on Settings. A second window will open. From the new options click "Antivirus". antivirus-options-norton-tutorial-exclusions Antivirus User Options in Norton / Excluding Files & Folders The will open a new internal page. There you will be confronted with 3 tabs. You need to choose the middle tab, "Scans & Risks". norton-scans-risks-settings-tutorial Scans & Risks user settings in Norton Antivirus Now scroll down to the "Exclusions / Low Risks". There are two options we want to focus on. The "Items to Exclude from Scans" and the "Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect SONAR and Download Intelligence Detection". Click configure for whichever one fits your needs. I added my exclusion folder to both lists just to be sure. exclude-scans-auto-protect-sonar-norton-tutorial Exclusions & Low Risk options. Exclude from Auto-Protect, Exclude from Manual Scans. Now just click the appropriate button - add file or add folder - navigate to the appropriate file or folder, select it and hit Apply. scan-exlusion-items-norton-folders-files Exclusion Item Settings Window in Norton AntiVirus ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Joshua Casper Online: http://www.joshuacasper.com http://www.facebook.com/DJJoshuaCasper http://soundcloud.com/joshuacasper http://twitter.com/joshuacasper

How To Drive A Manual Car for Beginners Step by Step :: Lesson #2 | Manual Transmission Smart

14:25
The second skill for learning to drive a manual car is combining clutch with throttle/brake. Learn how here - watch the video. SUBSCRIBE TODAY! ► http://youtube.com/c/smartdrivetest See Topics Below. This video is for absolute beginners. The two hardest gears to learn in a manual car are first and reverse. Introduction 0:03 Prologue 2:07 Clutch & Throttle - Forward 4:01 Clutch & Throttle - Reverse 5:53 Clutch & Brake Forward 7:14 Clutch & Brake Reverse 8:50 Conclusion 9:13 Question: Do you have exercises for students to learning to combine the clutch with throttle/brake? 12:59 Blooper 14:04 This is the second lesson, and you will learn to combine the clutch with the throttle and brake. However, without clutch control, you are going to have difficulty driving a manual car. So if you haven't look at lesson #1, be sure to view this video: https://youtu.be/iW2Q7lIxrRo EXERCISE #1 - hold the brake with your right foot and bring the clutch out to the friction point with your left. When you're at the friction point, the tachometer will drop 1-200 rpm and you will feel the vehicle vibrate a bit. When you have the clutch at the friction point, the vehicle can now be held by the clutch. Hold the clutch at the friction point and move your right foot from the brake to the throttle. In a gas or petrol engine car, rev the motor up to 1,000-1,200rpm and control the clutch through the friction zone. Move your left foot off the clutch smoothly and as quickly as possible. Take your foot off the clutch to prevent premature wear. EXERCISE #2 – after developing competency with the first exercise, move reverse gear and do the same exercise. Hold the brake with your right foot and bring the clutch out to the friction point with your left. When you're at the friction point, you will feel the vehicle vibrate a bit. You can't look at the tachometer, because you should be looking out the rear window of the vehicle That is why it is important to become competent with exercise #1. Exercise #3 - when you are competent with the first two exercises, move to working the clutch and the brake. In this exercise it is the same as the above: hold the brake with your right foot and bring the clutch out to the friction point with your left. Now you're going to throttle up to 2,000-3,000 rpm and then move right foot from the throttle and brake down to 1,000rpm. When the tachometer goes to 1,000 rpm push the clutch in and bring the vehicle to a complete stop. Exercise #4 - when you are competent with the first three exercises, move to working the clutch and the brake in reverse. In this exercise it is the same as the above: hold the brake with your right foot and bring the clutch out to the friction point with your left. When you're at the friction point, you will feel the vehicle vibrate a bit. You won't be able to look out the tachometer, because you must be looking out the rear window. Now you're going to throttle up to 2,000-3,000 rpm and then move right foot from the throttle and brake down to 1,000rpm. When the tachometer goes to 1,000 rpm push the clutch in and bring the vehicle to a complete stop. Good luck on your road test. ********************************** www.smartdrivetest.com www.facebook.com/smartdrivetest www.twitter.com/smartdrivetest www.instagram.com/smartdrivetest/

How to Hot-Wire a Car

02:21
Watch more Driving & Car Safety videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/273963-How-to-HotWire-a-Car No keys and no help in sight? Here's how to get your car moving again. Warning Hot-wiring a car is dangerous and is likely to damage your vehicle. Never hot-wire anyone's car but yours and be prepared to show your proof of ownership. Step 1: Try a screwdriver Pound a flat-head screwdriver into the ignition and turn it like a key. This will ruin the ignition cylinder, but it's effective on many cars manufactured before the mid '90s. Step 2: Remove the ignition cover If the car doesn't start, pull the screwdriver out of the ignition and remove the screws in the panels on the top and bottom of the steering column. Next, use the flat-head screwdriver to pry off the plastic panels and expose the ignition cylinder and the wires running to it. Be gentle to minimize damage to the steering column. Step 3: Identify the battery and starter wires Identify the battery and starter wires. Generally the two red wires handle the car's power, and the one or two brown wires connect to the starter. Consult your car's manual to learn its specific wire color code. Step 4: Connect the power wires Put on the gloves, and use the cutters to cut the power wires from the cylinder. Then, strip the ends and connect them by twisting them together to provide power to the lights, radio, and other electrical systems. Step 5: Connect the starter wires Cut the starter wires from the cylinder and strip the ends. Be extremely careful not to touch the exposed ends as they carry a powerful live current and will shock you. Touch them together, and as soon as the car has started, pull them apart and tape the ends to avoid getting shocked while driving. Tip If the car has only has one starter wire, touch it to the exposed part of the connected power wires to start the car. Step 6: Deal with additional security Deal with additional security. In some cars the steering-wheel lock's bolt can be pried open by jamming a screwdriver between the top of the steering column and the steering wheel. Tip Newer cars have complex wheel locks and electronic key systems that are nearly impossible to circumvent without tools and in-depth knowledge. Step 7: Turn the car off Turn the car off by separating the power wires from each other. Now it's time to find that extra set of keys and head to the repair shop, pronto. Did You Know? In 2008, vehicle thefts in the U.S. declined for the fifth year in a row.

Car Manual Gear Box, कितनी तरह के? CarGuru Explain, Maruti, Honda, Toyota, Tata, Mahindra

07:02
A manual transmission, also known as a manual gearbox, stick shift, n-speed manual (where n is its number of forward gear ratios), standard, MT, or in colloquial U.S. English, a stick (for vehicles with hand-lever shifters), is a type of transmission used in motor vehicle applications. It uses a driver-operated clutch engaged and disengaged by a foot pedal (automobile) or hand lever (motorcycle), for regulating torque transfer from the engine to the transmission; and a gear selector operated by hand (automobile) or by foot (motorcycle). A conventional 5-speed manual transmission is often the standard equipment in a base-model vehicle, while more expensive manual vehicles are usually equipped with a 6-speed transmission instead; other options include automatic transmissions such as a traditional automatic (hydraulic planetary) transmission (often a manumatic), a semi-automatic transmission, or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The number of forwarding gear ratios is often expressed for automatic transmissions as well (e.g., 9-speed automatic). Largest Hindi & Fastest Growing Indian Automobile Channel on Youtube.

How To Drive A Manual Car for Beginners Step by Step :: Lesson #3

24:59
Learn how to drive a manual car and shift the gears - watch the video! SUBSCRIBE TODAY! ► http://youtube.com/c/smartdrivetest SEE TOPICS Below. How To Drive A Manual Car for Beginners Step by Step :: Lesson #1 | Manual Transmission Smart - https://youtu.be/iW2Q7lIxrRo How To Drive A Manual Car for Beginners Step by Step :: Lesson #2 | Manual Transmission Smart - https://youtu.be/Q4AW_1hz6Rg Intro Prologue Shifting Information - Owner's Manual 3:12 Shifting Speeds 4:00 Shifting with Tachometer 4:55 Shifting for Fuel Economy 5.42 Quiet Area to Practice Shifting 6:09 Experience 7:00 Freeplay 8:10 Transmission Shift Pattern 9:24 Clutch & Throttle Motion 10:10 Tuc the Truck 12:00 Driving and Shifting 12:25 Conclusion 20:39 Question - Do you have any exercises for new drivers learning how to drive a manual car that will help to shift the gears? 23:24 Blooper 24:37 If you are driving a vehicle fitted with a manual transmission, the specific gears, their speeds and the revs of the engine will be in the owner's manual. If you are driving an older vehicle, the owner's manual will be in paper form, early-2000s, the owner's manual will be electronic, and if you have a new vehicle with telematics, the owner's manual will be on the vehicle's display. When shifting a manual transmission for fuel economy: the lowest rev for the highest gear will give you maximum fuel economy. As well, the faster you get through the gears, this technique too will give you better fuel economy. Think strategically about where you're going to practice to learn to shift through the gears. Start off in a parking lot or other quiet area where there isn't too much traffic and you can concentrate on shifting the transmission. When shifting through the gears, take your foot off the throttle, depress the clutch pedal, move the gear selector, and then let the clutch out to the friction point and control the clutch through the friction zone. When you've completely released the clutch, then depress the throttle. This technique will extend the life of your clutch. In most 4-cylinder petrol engines you will shift at approximately 2,500-3,000 rpm. If you are driving a 4-cylinder diesel engine, you will shift at approximately 1,200-1,500 rpm. These are just general starting points. As you get more and more experience driving a manual transmission, you will hear the engine and not have to look at the tachometer as much to know when to shift the vehicle. To make right hand turns, most often you will shift down to second gear to go around the corner. For left-hand turns, most of the time you will shift down to third gear to go around the corner. Good luck on your road test. ***************************** www.smartdrivetest.com www.facebook.com/smartdrivetest www.twitter.com/smartdrivetest www.instagram.com/smartdrivetest/

2005 Toyota Corolla XRS Manual - One Take

12:44
I had honestly never given a thought to any version of a Corolla since the dearly departed, RWD, AE86 variant, but maybe now is time to change that. The Corolla XRS was an unmarketed version of the econobox featuring the sky-high revving 2ZZ 1.8L engine shared with the Lotus Elise and a manual gearbox! With a redline in the neighborhood of 8,000 RPM and three pedals, this thing is surprisingly fun to huck around the canyons. This video also features, George, probably our most enthusiastic owner ever.

WATCH NOW! 2019 BMW M2 Competition - good news for Manual gearbox fans bmw M2

02:02
2019 BMW M2 Competition - good news for Manual gearbox fans bmw M2 Last week, we posted some leaked images of the new 2019 BMW M2 Competition, which were prematurely distributed by BMW Australia. Now, the time has come for the official wraps to come off the hottest M2 ahead of the Beijing Motor Show. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six produces 405 horsepower and offers 406 pound-feet of torque from 2,350 to 5,230 rpm. There's also good news for fans of manual gearboxes: the M2 Competition will be available with both the seven-speed M DCT double clutch box and a six-speed manual equipped with rev matching for smoother shifts. The M DCT comes with three Drivelogic driving programs: Comfort, Sport and Sport+. The manual car hits 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, and you can slice that 0.2 second off that figure with the M DCT box. There are also some choice M3/M4 bits in the car, as the M2 Competition benefits from a racing-bred engine oil supply system, and the three-radiator M4 Competition Package cooling system that has been made to fit the M2 Competition. The lightweight, partially aluminum front and rear axles are also from the M3/M4, as is the 3.3-lb CFRP strut brace in the engine bay. The exhaust is all-new, featuring electric flaps that respond to the drive mode choice. There's also the Active M rear differential, which can be adjusted between 0 and 100 percent, depending of the steering angle, accelerator position, brake pressure, engine torque, wheel speed and yaw rate. It can give the full 1,800 lb-ft of locking power in just 150 milliseconds when the situation demands it. But there's also a special show-off mode built into the stability control, which "increases the freedom available to drivers at the limit," meaning the electronic nannies will let you drive in a more lairy fashion, performing "moderate, controlled drifts," with the DSC still stepping in to prevent unintended adventures into shrubs and ditches. The 2019 M2 Competition, which can hit a top speed of 174 mph if specified with the M Drivers Package, will be made available in the summer of 2018. Pricing is not yet announced. How to drive a manual car

03:01
How to drive a manual car Have you ever walked into a dealership, saw the car of your dreams, but it was only available in manual transmission? If yes, then let me be your guide. About four years ago the exact situation happen to me. I walked into a dealership saw the car of my dreams, and knew I had to have it. After walking circles around it for about five minutes, someone finally brought me the keys, I sat inside and my heart sank. I had no idea how to drive a manual car, but I knew it was the car for me. I was definitely not going to let a manual transmission get in the way. I was completely sold. My dad drove the car home, and within a few days, I was driving like a pro. Why on earth would I want to learn manual you might be asking yourself? Simple! It’s a great thing to know, if you ever come across a manual car, you will be confident and ready to drive. The ultimate outcome of driving stick is that you will have a rare skill not many have. Knowing how to operate a manual transmission can come in handy, it might even provide a better life. Example: lets say you love cars, and you have an opportunity to work at a high-end dealership, if you know how to drive stick shift, you automatically have a higher chance of getting the job. Therefore, follow along with me as I teach you how to drive stick, and you might end up with a happier life. Step One Find yourself a manual car along with an empty parking lot. Step Two Unlock the car, take a seat, make yourself comfortable, and adjust the mirrors. Step Three Look down and you’ll realize that instead of two petals there are three. The petal to your far left is called a clutch, the petal in the center is your break, and the petal all the way to your right is the accelerator. Manual cars will not start unless you are pressing the clutch all the way down. While the car is off, familiarize yourself with all of the pedals. Step four When you look to your right you'll notice the gearbox has numbers on it, which indicates the gear you are in. 1 is first gear 2 is second gear 3 is third gear, and so on and so forth. If you wiggle the shift nob, and it is in the middle, that means the car is in neutral. There is also an R on the shift nob that stands for reverse. Step five Make sure that you put the E brake down. In stick shift cars, the E brake is used to keep the car from rolling backwards, or forward. For example: when you park the car, you must pull the E brake up in order for it to keep still. Step six You are now ready to drive. Make sure your car is in neutral, release the emergency break, press the clutch all the way down, and turn the key. Your car should now be on. Release the clutch. Step seven With your left foot, press the clutch all the way down, and put the car into first gear. Step eight With your left foot still on the clutch, you with then put your right foot on the accelerator. Step nine Gently start releasing the clutch while accelerating more with your right foot, and your car will begin to move forward. Step ten Once you feel the car in motion, you will let go of the clutch while holding the gas and you will be driving in first gear. In first gear you should be going ten to fifteen miles per hour. Step eleven Now that you have the car moving, its time to get into second gear. To go to second gear you will press the clutch down with your left foot, move the shift nob to second gear, push the accelerator, and your car should now be going twenty to twenty five miles an hour. Step twelve Repeat step eleven for third, fourth, fifth and six gears. Step thirteen For reverse it is very similar to getting into first gear. You will push the clutch, shift the nob into reverse, and slightly push the accelerator. Your car with then begin to move backwards. Step fourteen When you are ready to park the car you will slowly go into the parking space, press the clutch, move the shift nob to neutral and role in. When you are where you want to be, you will push the break to stop the car. Once the car is stopped you will pull the emergency break all the way up, and turn the car off. By following these few simple steps you will be a pro at driving a manual car in no time. So remember, make sure the E break is down, and the car is in neutral before you begin. Then step on the clutch, turn the car on, keep your left foot on the clutch, put the car in gear, and with your right foot gently press on the accelerator. Do this for all gears after first. The future definitely looks bright for you. Good luck, and Happy motoring!

When to change gear in a manual/stick shift car. Changing gears tips. Learning to drive.

09:07
When to change gear in a manual / stick shift car http://www.driving-school-beckenham.co.uk Learning to drive in a manual car? Want to know when to change gears in a stick shift? This video might help. When to change gear in a manual car can start off being a bit tricky. The best way to know when to change up gears in a stick shift is when the engine sound is louder and it sounds like it's working too hard. When to change down gear is once you've slowed down, the engine starts to struggle and it makes a lower sound or when you stop and need to go again (always move off in 1st gear). This was filmed in the UK. Rules and laws may vary in your country. How to change gears in a manual/stick shift car: When changing up gear you would normally come off gas, press down the clutch, change gear, release the clutch gently and then back on gas. To change down gear try using a slight amount of gas as you raise the clutch as this can result in a smooth gear change. ► How to change down gear smoothly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHhdmb1jrFo When to change down gear in a manual car: You would normally have to change down gears once you have slowed down and then you'd have to change to a gear that matched your speed or you could change down if you need more power to overtake. You can also block gear change, for example 3rd to 1st. It basically means skipping gears. It's possible to do this changing up gear as long as you have enough speed for that gear. When to change up gears in a manual car: Speed up first and build up momentum and then you can change gear. Over revving your car can use up more fuel. If you're going uphill or you have extra weight in your car then make sure that you speed up a little extra first before changing up gears. You can stop in any gear, but if you want to move off again then make sure you're in 1st gear or the car could stall (switch off). Make sure you're prepared for what's ahead in in the correct gear. If you're about to turn or go onto a roundabout then slow down and change down gear before. Low gears are best for steep hills as offer the most amount of torque. If you're driving uphill then make sure you speed up and build up momentum before changing up gear or the car will slow down and possibly stall. Please note that every car is different. Listen to the sound of the engine and you will get used to when to change gear. This autonomous robot can build an IKEA chair in less than 21 minutes

01:31
Artificial intelligence has mastered something that humankind has failed at, repeatedly. An autonomous robot, designed by mechanical engineers in Singapore, can now assemble an IKEA chair from scratch without a manual in less than 21 minutes. Such a feat has been described as the “equivalent of the moon landings for robotics” because the skills required are straightforward but immensely complex. Damn those wooden dowels! And it illustrates the tremendous distance that automated systems robots have traveled in a short period time. The study was published Wednesday in Science Robotics.
