In today's post I provide 5 quick tips you can experiment with to relieve muscle soreness in the days following your workouts. Keep in mind that post workout muscle soreness itself is something that isn't fully understood, and so the solutions aren't fully understood either. Just think of these as some potential options to test out and see what works for you. 5 Tips To Reduce Muscle Soreness: #1 - Gain More Training Experience Although this isn't a direct "actionable" tip, it's still worth mentioning here. Keep in mind that the less experienced you are as a lifter, the more post workout soreness you'll likely experience since intense weight training will be a new stimulus for your body. As you continue training and your body starts to adapt, you'll become less and less sore over time. This is known as the "repeated bout effect". #2 - Active Recovery This is a well documented tip to relieve muscle soreness and involves some very light resistance work on your off days for the muscle groups that are particularly sore. For legs you could do some light cycling or stair stepping, or for upper body you could do swimming or rowing. Another option is to just use actual barbells/dumbbells/machines. Always make sure to use a very light, easy pace with active recovery (you shouldn't be fatiguing yourself in any way) and 10-15 minutes is a good time frame to aim for. #3 - Post Workout Foam Rolling Delayed onset muscle soreness can also be treated using post workout foam rolling. Do this within a couple hours of completing your workout on the muscles you trained and see if that helps. #4 - Hot/Cold Showers Also called a "contrast shower", this is where you'll alternate between periods of hot and cold temperatures after your workout is complete. 1-3 minutes of hot water followed by 1-3 minutes of cold water for a total of 3-4 cycles is a method to relieve muscle soreness that many people swear by. #5 - Citrulline Malate Supplementation Although it's most often used as a pre-workout aid for boosting training performance, citrulline malate can also be used to reduce delayed onset muscle soreness as well. Try taking 6-8 grams of citrulline malate about 30-45 minutes before your workout. Give these 5 tips for muscle soreness a try and see what you think. Although they probably won't eliminate muscle soreness altogether, they should help you achieve a significant reduction.

Stiff Neck Treatment Fast Naturally - Sore Neck,Shoulder Pain and Neck Pain Remedies (Unbelievable)

07:14
https://youtu.be/WfvFbHQVECM Stiff Neck Treatment Fast Naturally - Sore Neck,Shoulder Pain and Neck Pain Remedies (Unbelievable) 1. Massage: Massage is a good cure for stiff neck. You can use essential oils, like pine, rosemary, lavender or juniper for massaging as it will provide the necessary warmth to the neck muscles along with increasing the blood circulation. A gentle massage greatly helps in relaxing the muscles while reducing the stiffness. 2. Heating Pad: Place a heating pad over your sore neck. It is a useful remedy which will increase the blood flow while decreasing the stiffness of the neck. 3. Ice Packs: Crush some ice and wrap it in a poly bag. Now, cover the stiff part of neck with a small cloth or towel, then place the wrapped ice over it. Ice is really useful for stiff neck pain relief. It also reduces the inflammation caused due to the soreness. 4. Over-the-counter Medicines: To relieve the pain caused due to a stiff neck, you can also use over-the-counter medication, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. However, avoid aspirin for kids, who are less than the age of 18, as aspirin causes Reye’s syndrome, which results in swelling in the brain. 5. Epsom Salt: Soak Epsom salt in your bath water and take a bath with it. This salt contains magnesium and sulphate, which regulates the activity of various enzymes in the body. This remedy helps in increasing the blood circulation, reducing the muscle tension and stress. 6. Hot Water Shower: Keep your neck under a shower of warm to little hot water for about 4-5 minutes. Don’t turn or move your neck while doing this. This is one of the best cures for stiff neck muscles. 7. Apply Balm: A number of balms, like analgesic and rubefacient are available in the market to get rid of the pain, caused due to a stiff neck. But, before picking any of them, keep your symptoms in mind. You can also use a pain relieving gel, called ‘Biofreeze’, which is available in the market. It is best suited for muscles spasms and stiff neck and shoulders. Biofreeze is a non-oily odourless gel that works quite well on sore muscles. The main ingredient used to make it is a South American holly shrub, called ‘Ilex’ 8. Apple Cider Vinegar: Soak a paper napkin in some apple cider vinegar and place it on your neck. Leave it for few hours. Apple cider vinegar is an excellent remedy for stiff neck muscles as it gives great relief in just one application. 9. Exercise: Exercising helps a lot. Gently move your neck in a circular motion. You can also move your neck in back and forth position. Side to side movement is also good. You can also try moving your neck in a pattern of digit-8. But, make sure it doesn’t pain. If it pains, don’t do these exercises. 10. Skin Scrapping: This method needs assistance of another person. You will require massage oil and a spoon. Spread few drops of massage oil on the area and gently scrape the skin of your neck with a spoon. Make sure, it doesn’t cause more pain in the muscles. Skin scrapping is a great stiff neck treatment, which improves the blood circulation while decreasing the stiffness of the neck. 11. Acupuncture: Try acupuncture exercise. It helps a lot in giving relief from neck soreness. 12. Magnesium Tablets: Take 1 magnesium tablet on the daily basis to boost up your immunity. It will also help in alleviating stiff neck. 13. Celery Leaves: Blend celery leaves and extract its juice. Drink it daily to get relief from pain, caused due to a stiff neck. 14. Horse Radish (Sahijan): In order to relieve stiffness of the neck, apply fresh horse radish. Leave it for a few minutes; otherwise, it may lead to burning or numbness. Ideas and Advice on How to Recover or Come Back from an Injury. Ibuprofen? Ice? Heat? Talk to Me!

04:34
As much as we focus on good form, injuries happen. Interestingly enough, it's more often outside of the gym than in. In the gym, our guard is up, but it's not necessarily when we're doing yard work, right? When you do experience an injury, Cat and Bethany are here to help you alleviate the pain quickly so you can get back in that saddle! First and foremost, never try to “work through the pain” when injured, since exercising more will only cause more harm. Cat and Bethany ascribe to the old philosophy RICE method. Formally known as the four step method consisting of resting, ice, compression, and elevation, Cat and Bethany are adding an extra “R” to the mix. “RICER” is here to promote healing and relieve swelling and through these simple five steps, you’ll be off the couch and ready to sign up for a spin class. When resting, take a break from the activity that’s inducing pain and try setting aside time for a vacation that simply entails removing the stress completely from the area experiencing uneasiness. With ice, make sure you apply a cold pack immediately after injury to minimize swelling and continue icing three or more times a day for fifteen minutes. Elevate the sore area to relieve swelling and a rule of thumb is elevating above the level of your heart. The additional “R” for “RICER” stands for “rolling it out” with a foam roller, but hold off on rolling until the pain has been reduced. One more tip that should be taken with caution (Cat emphasizes that she is NOT a doctor and cannot prescribe anything), but is helpful if taken correctly, is ibuprofen. By taking it consistently every four hours, it’ll reduce inflammation and is frequently used to treat painful conditions such as sprains and strains. Turmeric - A Natural Alternative to Harmful NSAIDs, by Gold Source Labs

05:30
http://GoldSourceLabs.com/TURMERIC In this brief video, we'll describe exactly what NSAID's are, the risks of using them, and we'll offer some safe, natural alternatives. http://GoldSourceLabs.com/TURMERIC What are NSAIDs? NSAID is an acronym which stands for Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug. NSAID's are both commonly prescribed by doctors as well as available in over-the counter forms. Some popular over-the-counter NSAIDs are naproxen sodium, ibuprofen and even aspirin. Their use supports a billion dollars industry with over 30 billion doses taken each year. How Do NSAIDs Work? NSAIDs work by inhibiting the body's COX-2 enzyme, which produces hormones called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are one way the body deals with injury, and one process they control is inflammation. By inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, and therefore the production of prostaglandins, NSAID's can reduce inflammation. The Risks of Using NSAIDs However, the same prostaglandins that control inflammation in the body are also responsible for protecting the lining of the stomach. Even when taken properly, long term use of NSAIDs and the continuous blocking of prostaglandins eventually leads to the deterioration of the stomach lining, ulcers and, in severe cases, potentially fatal gastrointestinal bleeds. The toxins created when NSAIDs pass through the liver and kidneys has been shown to be so toxic to these organs that people with pre-existing liver or kidney problems risk potential kidney and liver failure. New studies show that NSAID's also delay bone healing, which is especially dangerous for the elderly, as well as cause hypertension and atherosclerosis, increasing the risk of stroke and heart attack. Safe Alternatives to Using NSAIDs Physical therapists use a number of techniques to treat pain and inflammation, including: ice or heat as well as therapy which alternates cold and heat, TENS electrical nerve stimulation, traction and decompression therapy, deep tissue massage, and acupuncture. Safe, Natural Turmeric Many foods have also been shown to reduce inflammation, such as cayenne, garlic, ginger, and turmeric. Of these, turmeric has been shown to be the most effective at controlling inflammation and joint pain. Turmeric is a spice derived from the root of the Curcuma longa plant that is native to India. The spice has been used for thousands of years as both a food and medicine for aches and pains, liver conditions, skin disorders, stomach and intestinal disorders, sprained muscles and more. Turmeric's Benefits The compound in turmeric that gives it most of it's medicinal qualities is curcumin. Instead of causing damage to the stomach the way NSAIDs do, turmeric and curcumin support proper digestion and a healthy stomach lining. Not only does turmeric reduce inflammation by blocking prostaglandins, it's also very effective as a pain reliever, working by inhibiting the neurotransmitter which carries the body's pain signals. And turmeric's powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties also contribute to the death of unhealthy cells, which suggests that turmeric may provide protection from cancer. New studies suggest that it may even guard against the development of Alzheimer's Disease. Side Effects of Turmeric Other than mild stomach distress with larger amounts, known negative side effects are virtually non-existent. However, it is also effective as a blood thinner and known to lower blood pressure, so this may be an issue with some people. Turmeric Supplements Many people love the taste of curries distinctive of Indian food. However, if you are not fond of turmeric's taste, a turmeric curcumin supplement is a great option for avoiding NSAIDs without the need to cook with turmeric. Some turmeric supplements, such as that offered by Gold Source Labs, also contain a turmeric extract that contains higher amounts of curcuminoids than the turmeric spice alone. These derivatives of curcumin are more soluble, making them much more bioavailable to the body, and also increase both the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of our formula. A turmeric supplement is a great way to reduce pain and inflammation without the use of NSAIDs, and support many other aspects of your health. This technique will show you how to cure a sore throat within 2 minutes without any pills, herbs or drugs. Dr. Eric Berg DC show you how to relieve a sore throat fast. You will now be able to get rid of the pain from sore through simply by pressing on certain points in the back of your neck. This increase nerve flow, circulation and even lymph drainage. The key is pressing on the exact opposite part of your next. STEP 1 Rate your pain from a scale from 0 to 10 (10 being the worst, 0 being no pain) STEP 2 Draw an imaginary circle from the sore throat to the back part of your neck. STEP 3 Press equally on the exact opposite points on the back part of your neck. Do this for 2 minutes. To ensure you are on the correct points, you will feel a very tight, stiff and ridged area while you are doing this as well being very tender. The exact opposite point where the sore throat is will be extremely tender. Adjust location by moving upward and downward until all stiffness is loosened up. STEP 4 Re-rate the pain in your sore throat. SPECIAL NOTE: If the pain reduces, but does not fully go away, ask the person to point to the new location of the pain as it may have shifted up or down. Then apply your pressure opposing this pain in the back part of your neck. If you are doing this on yourself, I recommend using the massage tool to lean back on your coach or a tall back chair. How to get rid of sciatica pain forever | Cure sciatica permanently at home

05:11
Sciatica, also known as lumbar radiculopathy in medical terms, is the pain associated with the sciatic nerve, which is the largest nerve in our body. The pain often extends from your lower back, down the rear of the thigh and to your leg. Patients with sciatica pain may have difficulties sitting down or standing up. The numbness and weakness due to sciatica may affect your legs and even your toes. Patients with sciatica pain have tried their best to find the effective solution on how to get rid of sciatica pain. In this video we are introduce to you some useful home remedies for sciatica pain that can help you to ease the compression and irritation of the sciatic nerve. 10 Best Home Remedies To Cure Sciatica Pain. 1. Massage Therapy. You Just mixing 3 tablespoons of nutmeg powder into 1 cup of sesame oil. Make the mixture warm a little bit with the help of a microwave. After that, let it cool and massage the lower back, buttock, hips and your affected leg with this mixture when it is still warm. You should repeat this process several times a day for a few weeks. Vibrating machines are also ideal for sciatic pain massage. 2. Hot & Cold Therapy. It is said that using hot or cold compress is the one of the best tips on how to treat sciatica pain and inflammation. Heat therapy combats sciatica pain caused due to compression in nerves and muscles in the winter season. Soak a towel in warm water and place it on the affected area. Alternatively, use a hot water bottle to ease the discomfort. If the sciatica pain is accompanied by inflammation, go for cold therapy. Wrap some ice cubes in a cloth and place it on the affected area. It reduces the flow of blood towards the aching area, thereby, provides an instant relief. 3. Turmeric. The anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric relieve lower back pain, swelling and muscle spasms resulted due to sciatica. For quick results, consume 300 mg of turmeric thrice a day.  Mix 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and 2 spoon of sesame oil. Apply this paste on affected area and gently massage it for 5 minutes. You can also drink turmeric milk before going to bed. Repeat these remedies for several days until you get rid of sciatica. 4. Epsom salt. Asking for home remedies for sciatica pain, you should not ignore Epsom salt bath. Epsom salt which is available in any local drug store is effective in relaxing the nervous system and flush toxins out of your body. Fill hot water in your bathtub. Add 2 cups of Epsom salt to it. Soak yourself in this water for ½ an hour daily to relax the muscles and soothe the pain. 5. Mustard Oil Taking about home remedies for sciatica pain, I would like to mention mustard oil treatment. You should mix 3 tablespoons of mustard oil, carom seeds with three crushed cloves of garlic. Heat this mixture for a few minutes and then allow it cool down. Use your fingertips to massage the affected areas with this mixture gently. Repeat this process until you find the significant relief. 6. Fenugreek seeds. Fenugreek seeds have strong anti-inflammatory properties and are significantly effective in relieving gout pains and rheumatoid arthritis. You should take a handful of fenugreek seeds and grind them. Then, you need to add some milk in it. Next, boil the mixture in order to get a mushy paste. Apply the paste on the painful area as a poultice, and let it stand for a couple of hours. Then, you can wash it off. Repeat the procedure every day until you see some improvements. 7. White willow bark White willow bark contains olic glycosides with salicin, responsible for its potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is recommended to take 240mg of salicin or 120mg of white willow supplement a day, for a few weeks. However, before taking the supplements, make sure to consult your doctor. 8. Devil's Claw. Devil’s claw, an herbal supplement, can help patients with sciatica find the relief. This herb can work as anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen. It is recommended taking a dose of around 1,500 mg daily. You can consume it in the form of tea, tincture, tablet or capsule. 9. Elderberry. All the parts of elderberry such as leaves, fruits or flowers can be used for many uses. Thanks to their muscle relaxing properties, elderberry can help to reduce pressure on the ends of affected nerves. If you want to get a better result, you should drink a glass of elderberry juice twice a day. 10. Garlic Garlic contains anti-inflammatory properties; therefore, it should be considered as one of effective home remedies for sciatica pain. You can take garlic supplement or include garlic in your dietary dishes. It is recommended chewing four raw cloves every morning in order to get significant relief from pain. Moreover, garlic also helps you to boost your immunes system; therefore, your body will be able to fight against free radicals causing sciatica and other health diseases.

How to Heal Faster After Having a Tooth Removed

02:55
So you just had a tooth removed. The dentist probably rattled off a list of directions for you to follow but was talking way to fast and may have confused you with all the information thrown at you after an anxiety producing experience. I try to avoid the information overload with my patients but it's not always successful. Today's video goes into detail about what to do after having a tooth pulled so you can listen again in the comfort of your own home if you are confused. I've also posted the printed directions we give to our patients summarizing the most important things to do to promote faster healing.  Apply pressure with gauze to stop the bleeding After tooth extraction, it’s important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. That’s why we ask you to bite on a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes after the appointment. If the bleeding or oozing still persists, place another gauze pad and bite firmly for another 30 minutes. You may have to do this several times. If you run out of gauze, you may take a tea bag of any kind and firmly bite down on it for 30 minutes. Pink or blood-tinged saliva may be seen for 2-3 days following the surgery and does not indicate a problem. Minimize swelling to minimize discomfort Swelling is the body’s normal reaction to surgery and healing. An ice pack or an unopened bag of frozen peas or corn applied to the area will keep swelling to a minimum. Apply the ice to the outside of the face, 20 minutes on and then 20 minutes off, while awake for the first 24 hours. After the first 24 hours, stop using ice and use a warm moist heat compresses to relieve swelling and aid in muscle discomfort. The swelling will begin to decrease after the third day. Pain medication Unfortunately, it is normal to experience mild to moderate pain after a tooth extraction. Try to take some pain medication before the numbness wears off. Ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen (Aleve), are both good over the counter medications to take that will also help to minimize swelling. Dr. Kamodia recommends 600mg of ibuprofen (3 tablets) every 6 hours for the first 3 days. If that is not providing enough pain relief, alternating the ibuprofen with extra strength Tylenol (500mg) will help. How to promote faster healing After the blood clot forms, it is important not to disturb or dislodge the clot as it aids healing. Do NOT smoke, suck on straws, or rinse vigorously for one week. These activities will dislodge or dissolve the clot and retard the healing process. Limit vigorous exercise for the next 24-48 hours as this will increase blood pressure and may cause more bleeding from the extraction site. Diet Your first day will consist of soft, cool foods such as: yogurt, applesauce, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, and ice cream. Soup is a great option as long as it is room temperature. Avoid foods like nuts, sunflower seeds, popcorn, chips etc., which may get lodged in the socket. Focus on drinking lots of fluids and eating soft, nutritious foods. Long term healing The best way to prevent infection and ensure healing is to keep your mouth clean. Clean your mouth thoroughly after each meal beginning the day after surgery by rinsing GENTLY with warm salt water. Use a soft bristle toothbrush and toothpaste every morning and night to keep your teeth and the extraction site clean. This will speed healing and help keep your mouth fresh. After a few days you should feel fine and can resume your normal activities. If you have heavy bleeding, severe pain, or swelling that is not decreasing after 3 days please call our office immediately—(607)-785-1900.

Treating Injured Muscles - ep 10

10:29
Original release date: August 31, 2015 Show Notes How Muscles Work Muscle contractions depend on the muscle cells trading Potassium (K⁺) and Calcium (Ca⁺⁺). As your muscle uses up energy to do work, the by-product is Lactic Acid. Muscle fibers are “woven” together – kinda like fabric. Contracting and relaxing a muscle causes the fibers to grip together and then spread back out. Bilateral muscles = symmetrical muscles. They look the same on each side of your body and worktogether to move your body in both directions from your center (left and right). How Muscles Get Hurt Stretching a muscle causes the muscle fibers to extend. Over-extending a muscle can lead to a strain or pull/torn muscle. Inflammation happens in the tiny fibers of your injured muscle. Treatment Options for Injured Muscle Anti-inflammatory medications work great for strained muscles. – Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) – Naproxen (Aleve) R.I.C.E. Rest: stop using it, or at least give it a little break with only light use Ice: yep, that cold, frozen water stuff Compression: for smaller muscles, they can be wrapped to help limit inflammation and hold muscle fibers in a inoffensive position. Elevation: smaller muscles that can be affected by gravity pulling blood to it, can benefit from being elevated and allowing gravity to pull blood away from it for a short time. Here’s a link with a concise explanation of when to use ice vs when to use heat. Prescription steroids help relieve inflammation. Prescription muscle relaxers keep the muscle from knotting up. Holla @_KevinBuchanan used 800 mg ibuprofen for his injury. 800 mg should be taken every 8-12 hours, no sooner, or GI side effects may occur. Recap 1. Stop the offending activity. 2. Instant Sciatica Relief - How I cured my Sciatica

03:25
For Over 2 months I suffered with Sciatica. I'd stretch multiple times every day (they were the wrong stretches). I'd use heat and ice and popped Ibuprofen like M&Ms. But nothing would cure my back pain and sciatica. Then I discovered this stretch that literally after 10 minutes I could feel a massive relief. The next day my Sciatic pain was gone. If you have a herniated or bulging disc then this stretch will not fix your Sciatic nerve pain. However, if your Sciatica is being caused by a tight Piriformis muscle compressing on the Sciatic nerve then the stretch I'm going to show you should help. By gently stretching the Piriformis muscle you can relieve the tightness and the compression on the Sciatic nerve. Hope this works as well for you as it did for me.

PINCHED NERVE in NECK Symptoms, TREATMENT to HELP Pinched Nerve and NECK PAIN, Shoulder Pain CAUSES

15:29
9 Remedies for a PINCHED NERVE: A pinched nerve refers to a certain kind of damage to a nerve or group of nerves. It’s caused when a disc, bone, or muscle places increased pressure on the nerve. It can lead to feelings of: numbness tingling burning pins and needles A pinched nerve can cause carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica symptoms (a pinched nerve can’t cause a herniated disc, but a herniated disc can pinch a nerve root), and other conditions. Think of it like an expressway. Your spine is like the main on-ramp for the nerve. As the nerve leaves your neck, it has on- and off-ramps throughout your body. A pinched nerve is like a blocked entrance ramp. The compression on the nerve leads to inflammation and irritation, sending tingling, numbness, or a pain sensation down your limb. – Erin Hassett, PT, DPT, OCS, orthopedic physical therapist in Chicago Some pinched nerves will require professional care to treat. If you’re looking for a way to alleviate mild pain at home, here are nine options you can try. Some of them can be done at the same time. What’s important is to find what works best for you. 9 Treatments 1. Adjust your posture You may need to change how you’re sitting or standing to relieve pain from a pinched nerve. Find any position that helps you feel better, and spend as much time in that position as you can. Pinched nerve in your neck For a pinched nerve in your neck, check to be sure that your chin is in a neutral position, not jutting too far forward or pulled too far back. Also make sure your shoulders are in the right position, gently squeezing your shoulder blades together to ensure upright posture. Strengthening scapular muscles like the rhomboids, middle trapezius, and lower trapezius can help better support your neck once symptoms have resolved. The most comfortable position for a pinched nerve in the neck varies, but often lying down helps to alleviate the compression on the nerve. – Erin Hassett 2. Use a standing workstation Standing workstations are gaining popularity, and for good reason. Mobility and standing throughout your day are crucial to preventing and treating a pinched nerve. If you have a pinched nerve or want to avoid one, talk with your human resources department about modifying your desk so that you can stand while working. If you can’t get a standing workstation, be sure to get up and take a walk each hour. Roller balls for tight muscles and an hourly stretching program are a good idea if you use a keyboard frequently. (Wrist braces or supports aren’t recommended as an early treatment strategy.) 3. Rest No matter where you have a pinched nerve, the best thing is usually to rest as long as possible. Avoid the activity that is causing you pain, such as tennis, golf, or texting. Rest until the symptoms have completely resolved. When you do start moving that part of your body again, pay attention to how it feels. Stop the activity if your pain returns. 4. Splint If you have carpal tunnel, which is a pinched nerve in the wrist, a splint can help you rest and protect your wrist. This can be especially helpful overnight so that you don’t curl your wrist in a bad position while you’re sleeping. 5. Stretch Gentle stretches can help relieve the pressure on your nerve and improve your symptoms. Don’t go too deeply into a stretch. If you begin to feel pain or discomfort, ease up on the stretch. Remember that small movements can have a big impact. Anything that makes you feel better you should do, as long as it isn’t increasing your numbness or pain. Try to spend time in the positions that help alleviate the symptoms. Relieving the pressure on the nerve will help decrease irritation and pain. – Erin Hassett 6. Apply heat You can use heat to relax the muscles that might be tight around a pinched nerve. Heat also increases blood flow, which can help the healing process. You can find heating pads in various sizes at a drugstore. Hold heat directly onto the pinched nerve for 10–15 minutes at a time. 7. Use ice Ice reduces swelling and inflammation. Wrap a towel around an ice pack and hold it directly onto the pinched nerve for 10–15 minutes. 8. Elevate your legs For a pinched nerve in your lower back, try elevating your legs with a 90-degree bend in both your hips and knees. You can place a wedge or ottoman on your bed and rest your legs on top while lying on your back. This position helps relieve compression on the disc and nerve in your back. You can also lie on the floor, resting your legs on top of the couch to achieve the same effect. – Erin Hassett 9. Take an over-the-counter pain reliever If you want to try a pain reliever, you can take over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB) or aspirin (Bufferin). Follow the instructions on the bottle, and be sure to check with your doctor before taking any new medications.

Home Remedies for Lower Back Pain and Back Spasms Treatment

02:46
Home Remedies for Lower Back Pain and Back Spasms Treatment. Back spasms are painful contractions or cramps in the muscles of the back. The pain can be the result of overdoing it during an athletic workout or as simple as just moving wrong while getting out of bed or performing a household chore. According to the Sports Injury Bulletin, most back spasms affect the lower area of the back. You can alleviate the pain of a muscle cramp in the back through home remedies. Step 1 Ice the area that hurts to relieve the pain of a back spasm. Apply an ice pack in a massaging motion to your back. You may need the help of a family member to reach the right spot for a period of 12 minutes, according to Sports Injury Bulletin. The cold not only eases the pain but can reduce inflammation within the muscle and surrounding tissues. You can ice the painful area throughout the day, taking a 20-minute break between icing sessions. Step 2 Take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen to treat a back spasm at home. Most spasms that occur without ligament tearing can be helped by medications you probably already have in your medicine cabinet. Step 3 Do some gentle stretching to strengthen your lower back, which can both relieve and prevent muscle cramps, according to MedlinePlus. Pelvic tilts, also called pelvic presses, strengthen the lower part of your back and increases your flexibility. Lie down on the floor or a bed with your arms straight down beside you. Tighten your stomach muscles, gently pushing the small of your back down against the floor. Hold the position for several seconds up to 12 seconds is ideal if you can before relaxing. Step 4 Perform leg lifts to strengthen your back and core and to help loosen up tight muscles that spasm often. Lie on the floor or a bed. Lift your right arm and left leg up as high as you can, keeping both limbs straight. Hold the position as long as you can before returning to your original position. Repeat the exercise with your left arm and right leg. Two sets of 10 repetitions of this exercise is adequate, according to the Sports Injury Bulletin. Things You'll Need Ice packs, Pain relievers Please note though stretching can help back spasms, wait until your pain has subsided from its worst before starting the stretches. So that is all about home remedies for back spasms. 6 Herbal Remedies for Natural Pain Relief

03:56
The main cause of pain is the inflammation, a defensive response which leads to swelling in the tissues. Over 30 million Americans use drugs, such as aspirin, naproxen, and ibuprofen, to treat muscle cramps, headaches, sport injuries and chronic conditions like back pain, neuropathy, and arthritis. However, the problem with these drugs is that they cause some serious side effects. The good news is that there are natural remedies available. They are all-natural, safe to use, and extremely effective in reducing inflammation and soothing pain. 1. WHITE WILLOW BARK AND FEVERFEW White willow bark is extremely effective in treating headaches, as it contains a compound (salicin) whose effects are very similar to the ones of aspirin. It reduces inflammation like aspirin, but it is much gentler. It is recommended to take 120-240 mg standardized salicin every 3-4 hours. Please note that children under the age of 17 should not take willow bark. Feverfew provides a long-term relief and it helps prevent headaches. It has the ability to relax blood vessels in the brain, which in turn prevents constriction, the main cause of migraines. It is recommended to take 100-200 mg on a daily basis. It may take 1 to 2 months to see the benefits. 2. BOSWELLIA Boswellia, also known as frankincense, soothes both minor and chronic pains. Its active ingredients reduce the production of inflammatory compounds which are involved in many chronic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. You should take 750 mg on a daily basis in three divided doses. 3. CURCUMIN Turmeric contains curcumin, an active ingredient which inhibits inflammatory properties and improves body`s ability to fight inflammation. It has been scientifically shown that curcumin soothes chronic pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis. Take 400-600 mg of curcumin three times on a daily basis. 4. GINGER Ginger contains enzymes which stop the production of inflammatory compounds. For acute pain, take 2 grams of ground dehydrated ginger on a daily basis. For chronic conditions, reduce the intake to a gram of it daily divided into three doses. 5. ARNICA Arnica has been long used for medicinal purposes, because it contains compounds which boost immunity and reduce inflammation. Topical application of arnica soothes pain and restores joint functions, just as ibuprofen does. It can be also used to treat acute injuries, including bruises, strains, sprains, and postoperative healing. For that purpose, apply arnica gel or cream 3-4 times on a daily basis. 6. DEVIL'S CLAW Devil's Claw is a native fruit of South Africa and when used as a remedy, it can help to relieve pain. Recent studies show that this fruit is very effective in reducing back pain and arthritis. Devil's Claw contains active ingredients which have powerful pain-relieving and inflammation-causing properties. It is recommended to take 400mg dried devil's claw on a daily basis for natural pain relief. Natural home remedies : Arthritis

Anti-inflammatory drugs—prescription and over-the-counter—can ease your arthritis pain, and most people will want to take them. But relief doesn’t end there. A host of other feel-good, stay-well measures can move you further down the field toward your goal of easy-moving, pain-free days. Pain removers • Supplement with glucosamine and chondroitin to reduce pain and slow cartilage loss. There’s evidence that this combination can be effective for people with mild to moderate arthritis. Follow the dosage directions on the label. And keep at it: You might have to use it for a month or more before you begin to see benefits. • Take a half-teaspoon of powdered ginger or up to 30 grams (about 6 teaspoons) of fresh ginger once a day. Research shows that ginger helps relieve rthritis pain, probably because of its ability to increase blood circulation, which ferries inflammatory chemicals away from painful joints. • Take two 400-milligram doses of SAM-e every day. SAM-e has been shown to help relieve arthritis pain by increasing blood levels of proteoglycans—molecules that seem to play a key role in preserving cartilage by helping to keep it “plumped up” and well oxygenated. In a review of SAM-e studies sponsored by the U.S. government, the supplement proved comparable to anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen) in fighting arthritis pain. Apply heat and cold to arthritis pain • Applying heat to a painful joint can provide significant relief. For heat sources, you can use electric blankets and mitts, heating pads, or hot packs. Heat things up for 20 minutes. Simply taking a hot bath or shower can also be soothing. • Cold treatments may work equally well when joints are inflamed. Wrap an ice cube in a towel or washcloth, and press it to the sore joint. Alternatively, you can use a bag of frozen peas or corn. Wear gloves to bed • If you frequently have stiff, swollen hands in the morning, wear a snug-fitting pair of gloves to bed. They’ll keep the swelling in check. Oil aching joints • Eat more cold-water fish. Many people who supplement their diets with omega-3 fatty acids—found in cold-water fish like salmon—discover that pain and stiffness are lessened. These substances seem to discourage inflammation in the body. • If you dislike fish, get the healing oils in capsule form. The recommended dose is 2,000 milligrams of an omega-3 supplement three times daily. If you take blood-thinning drugs, check with your doctor before taking fish-oil capsules. • As an alternative to fish-oil capsules, take one tablespoon of flaxseed oil a day. It’s loaded with the same type of omega-3’s. Take the oil straight, or add it to your salad dressing. • If you like nuts, indulge in them a bit. They also contain beneficial oil. Rub on relief • Capsaicin is a substance that gives hot peppers their “heat.” Rub on a store-bought capsaicin cream and let it go to work. It irritates nerve endings, diverting your brain’s attention from arthritis pain. • Oil of wintergreen and eucalyptus oil are also effective. Put a few drops on the skin and rub it in. Be cautious with wintergreen, however, since some people develop a skin reaction. Also, don’t use either of these oils under a heating pad or hot compress, as the additional heat can cause them to burn or irritate the skin Gyan The Treasure : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZ-xaW1wnqubpkOLvOVKKOg Vastu & Astrology : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbhc-xEKXBrPHPevA2ibJxQ Dharm अाैर Science : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_7ylmMqDS92eLK6NY76Y6w Difference & Similarities : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTIp54Q_dyw1o2etqsoeXiw What If ….कया हो अगर : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnsIAaPFcrUdOAtAJ3fokEA Parenting & Lifestyle : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChx9OYduRzQsdvyQBRIAq8A Teej Tyohar - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/58f59d88bae5476db984a49f3e5b5a8a?uc Guru Ka Gyan - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/d4fd204f35014a458bb80deacbb4a925?uc Shreemad Home Remidies - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/1ad6051206a446739f7e4fbf6f72035c?uc Ghar Ka Khana - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/93f4321fdb504bec8e7ed24ae784b728?uc All gherelu nushke are there, any medicine should to taken according to doctor prescription. How to Deal with Trigger Finger

05:03
How to Deal with Trigger Finger Trigger finger, medically known as stenosing tenosynovitis, is a condition in which a finger or thumb gets stuck in a bent position. It may straighten on its own with a sudden snap, or you may have to force it. Some of the early symptoms include a lingering soreness and lump in the base of the finger near the palm, a clicking or snapping noise with movement, and stiffness in the affected finger. However, you can reduce the discomforts and treat the problem using natural methods. Here are the top 10 ways to deal with trigger finger. 1. Rest the Finger One of the best ways to deal with trigger finger is to rest the affected finger for at least three to four weeks. Proper rest is a key component for healing the tendon. It will also reduce soreness and inflammation as well as speed up the healing time. 2. Use a Splint You must also keep the affected finger splinted as much as possible until the pain and inflammation subsides. A splint will keep the affected finger in an extended position and prevent movement while it heals. 3. Apply a Cold Compress You may also notice improvement in your condition by using a cold compress several times a day. Put a few ice cubes in a thin towel and tie it securely. Apply this ice pack to the affected finger for 10 minutes. Take a break of 5 minutes and repeat 2 or 3 more times. Use this simple remedy a few times a day, as needed. 4. Soak it in Warm Water : While a cold compress is effective, soaking the affected finger in warm water also can play a part in the healing process by relaxing the tendons and muscles. Fill a bowl with some warm water. Optionally, add 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt to it. Soak the affected finger in it for 5 minutes. Do it 4 or 5 times throughout the day. 5. Do Stretching Exercises: Gentle exercises will help maintain mobility in your finger and also aid the healing process, so it gets back to optimal functioning as quickly as possible. 6. Massage the Finger: Massaging the affected finger regularly is another good way to treat trigger finger. A gentle massage will help increase circulation, relax the muscles, and reduce swelling and stiffness. Warm some olive, sesame or coconut oil in the microwave. Dab the warm oil on the affected finger. 7. Use Aloe Vera: Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties that help relieve inflammation as well as stiffness and soreness associated with trigger finger. Extract the gel from an aloe vera leaf and rub it over the affected finger 2 or 3 times a day. You can opt to take aloe vera in supplement. 8. Bromelain: Bromelain, a compound found in pineapples (especially in the stem), is an excellent remedy to help treat trigger finger. It provides anti-inflammatory benefits that help reduce pain and inflammation. 9. Treat it with Turmeric: Another good remedy for trigger finger is turmeric. The compound called curcumin in it serves as an anti-inflammatory agent, hence it can effectively reduce pain and swelling. 10. Get Acupuncture: Another good treatment that you can consider is acupuncture. It helps increase the blood flow to the affected area, which in turn reduces pain and swelling. In acupuncture, thin needles are inserted in and around the affected area to address the cause of the inflammation and pain. Additional Tips: Take over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, to relieve the pain. Use over-the-counter arnica or capsaicin creams as needed to alleviate pain and swelling. Drink 2 to 3 cups of ginger tea daily to fight the inflammation. Eat foods rich in vitamin B6, such as liver, fish, raw garlic, sunflower seeds and hazelnuts.
