However, most people don’t realize that having high blood pressure ALSO causes erectile problems.3 In fact, high blood pressure also causes a decrease in libido and loss of interest in sex for women as well!3 And this is important to know because 33% of Americans over the age of 20 have high blood pressure.1 And 90% have hypertension by age 65.1,2 And worse yet, 72% of people don’t even know they have high blood pressure.2 So statistically speaking, if you’re watching this video … you probably do NOT have “optimal” blood pressure levels. And if you’re experiencing any form of erectile dysfunction … or a decrease in your libido … or you simply want to improve your “performance” in the bedroom, it’s extremely important that you improve your blood pressure. Hypertension & Physical Causes Blood vessel damage from high blood pressure (HBP or hypertension) reduces blood flow throughout your body. Lower blood flow to the pelvis can negatively affect the sex lives of both men and women. Men - High Blood Pressure and Erectile Dysfunction In a man, the effects of high blood pressure on sexual function are more physically apparent than they are with women. Erectile dysfunction happens when there’s not enough blood flow to the penis to allow for an erection. Basically, a common cause of erectile dysfunction (impotence) is damage to the lining of the arteries to the penis. Because of this, there’s less blood getting to the penis and thus, you end up have a “limp dick”. Blood pressure can damage your arteries by causing them to become thicker, or even to burst. This can restrict blood flow to your penis, which can cause impotence. Women - High Blood Pressure, Loss of libido & Interest Women with high blood pressure may have lower libido and less interest in sex, especially if the condition is contributing to fatigue. If a woman’s blood flow to her vagina is reduced, it may also affect how her body responds both before and during intercourse. Blood Pressure Drugs and Impotence So if high blood pressure wasn’t bad enough for your sex life, the typical solutions are even worse! Getting an erection is really a complicated process. Anatomy of an Erection In the shaft of the penis there are two side-by-side chambers of spongy tissue called the corpora cavernosa. They're mainly responsible for erections. Just below them is another chamber called the corpus spongiosum. The urethra, which carries semen and urine, runs through the center of it. The corpora cavernosa are made of small arteries and veins, smooth muscle fiber, and empty spaces. The chambers are wrapped in a sheath of thin tissue. When you get an erection, signals from the brain or nerve endings in the penis cause the smooth muscle of the chambers to relax and arteries to dilate, or open wider. This allows a rush of blood to fill the empty spaces. The pressure of blood flow causes the sheath of tissue around the chambers to press on veins that normally drain blood out of the penis. That traps blood in the penis. As more blood flows in, the penis expands and stiffens, and you have an erection. When the excitement ends, the smooth muscle contracts again, taking pressure off the veins and allowing blood to flow back out of the penis. Then the penis returns to a flaccid state. High Blood Pressure and Other Causes of Erectile Dysfunction High blood pressure is a major cause of erection problems. A study in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society found that about 49% of men ages 40 to 79 with high blood pressure had erectile dysfunction. Another study of men with high blood pressure, published in the Journal of Urology, found that 68% of them had some degree of erectile dysfunction. For 45% of the men, it was considered severe. High blood pressure keeps the arteries that carry blood into the penis from dilating the way they're supposed to. It also makes the smooth muscle in the penis lose its ability to relax. Typically you have low testosterone, high female and stress hormones. And I’ve mentioned this in the past… However, there’s also a secondary reason that can’t and shouldn’t be ignored and that has to do with poor blood flow and circulation - throughout your body, but more specifically to your penis. BTW, this also affects women to a smaller degree by reduced blood flow to their clitoris. In fact, I want you to quickly watch this short 30 second clip from Dr. David Perlmutter and Dr. Daniel Amen. So there are two things I want to point out based on what was stated in the video clip: The Harvard study1 points out at the primary non-hormonal reason of erectile Dysfunction is “the most common cause is inadequate blood supply to the spongy tissues in the penis that provide rigidity”. Of course, poor blood flow also reduces the size and firmness of your penis. The second thing I want to point out is how Dr. Amen stated that “it means you have bad habits”. By this he means that most people are “unknowingly” making the wrong lifestyle choices every day and thus, the “bad habits”. And that’s what I quickly want to discuss today - 3 clinically proven and simple changes you can make right away, that’ll naturally improve your blood flow and circulation and thus, not only improving your erections. 3 Clinically Proven Ways To Increase Blood Flow & Improve Your Erections =-=-=-=-=- 1 - DIET Diet obviously plays a big role in improving your blood flow and reducing plaque buildup. The good news is that it’s never too late to eat a healthier diet. Just as years of bad eating can damage your body, good eating can help heal it and it can happen quickly. Add more “healthy” fats to your diet. These are typically mono and poly unsaturated fats. They’re found in foods like olives, raw seeds and nuts, avocados, and fish. These should be RAW and uncooked. Eliminate “unhealthy” and artificial sources of trans fats. Most artificial trans fats are found in processed, packaged foods like cookies and snack cakes. These have been heated and are hydrogenated. They are also high in omega 6 fats, which causes inflammation. Even regular so-called “healthy” oils like canola, cause inflammation. Increase your fiber intake. Soluble fiber helps prevent and remove plaque buildup. You can find soluble fiber in foods like vegetables, lentils, beans, and oats. I would also add in fiber supplements as well, especially if you have a hard time getting it all from food. Cut back on sugar. 2 -- Exercise First, we all need to move more. All we tend to do is sit all day long -- computer, phone, driving, eating, work, etc. The reason exercise is important is because it helps improve your youth hormones, which then helps your body naturally get rid of toxins - this includes plaque. You should lift weights and do cardio - both are needed. And in my opinion, “resistance exercise” is more important than cardiovascular. This means lifting weights - which can be with free weights, machines, cables or simply your own bodyweight. 3 -- Take Specific Supplements Taking specific herbs, vitamins and minerals that are clinically proven to help your improve blood flow and circulation, will give you the biggest and fastest improvements in preventing AND removing plaque buildup. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE | HYPERTENSION | HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT IN URDU/HINDI HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE: High blood pressure is also known as hypertension, caused by the increase in blood circulation in the body. If it is not treated on time, it can cause brain haemorrhage, coma and even death. For this reason it is vital that it be taken proper care of. The most important thing to know about high blood pressure control what it exactly it, what causes and what are the ways to treat this health condition. Heart Pumping and Blood Pressure: Human body contains 5-6 liters of blood depending on the sex and age. Almost 5 liters of blood passes through the heart and is purified every second. Heart separates deoxygenated blood from oxygenated blood, send the deoxygenated blood to the lungs for getting oxygen and the oxygenated blood to all part of the body. This process is done by the contraction & relaxation of the heart muscles, each cycle called a heart beat. After purifying the blood, it delivers the blood to all body parts through veins and arteries. The amount of heart beats depends on the flow of blood from the heart. If the pressure of blood flow is high, the heart beat rate will also be higher. Same is the other way around. This increased or decreased blood pressure causes the veins & valves to contract and expand accordingly putting pressure on the blood vessels and the heart. Symptoms: Headache Vomit Low energy level Weak eye sight Improper working of digestive system How to measure the blood pressure & its diagnosis: The first step in high blood pressure treatment is diagnosing whether a patient has high BP of low. If the blood circulation is 140 / 90 torr or higher, then it will be categorized as high blood pressure. 139 / 89 torr pressure is known as pre-hyper tension, which indicates that it is the starting point of blood pressure. Diagnosis process needs to be carried according to following parameters: Sample should be examined three times in a week. If the blood pressure of the patient is very high then one should wait for half hour then check the blood pressure again. The blood pressure is measured with a strip and from upper part of arm. BP is measured in “mmhg”, which is known as Cardiac Output or heart rate; increased heart rate indicates high blood pressure. According to the American Heart Association blood pressure in measured in two parameters; Dialectic mmhg and Systolic mmhg. In a healthy human being, the level of systolic & dialectic blood mmhg should be according to the following figures. Systolic mmhg: hypertension 90, 90 – 119 Dialectic mmhg: hypertension 60, 60 – 79 High Blood Pressure Treatment: It important to avoid the things that cause high blood pressure in the first place. Hypertension is divided into five stages, first two stages are not very dangerous and by self precautions, you can prevent severe hypertension. At this stage patient should avoid foods with high fats, smoking & exercise regularly. Salt is the main cause of high blood pressure and drug therapy & Beta blockers are suggested for the patients. Eating a healthy diet and emphasizing on natural diet like fruits and vegetables can help control blood pressure a lot. If you have developed High BP, it is very important that you get checkup every now and then. Lastly, it depends on you that how much you are willing to control hypertension. Take things lightly, take exercise, take some time out for yourself away from routine life, go out with friends and add fun to your life. You won’t even know when you came out of it. Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the walls of the veins and arteries throughout the circulatory system. Therefore hypotension would be compression below normal (according to the range that the scientific community has specified according to the age and sex of the patients). It is good to know that the levels are not equal in each person. For example, a newborn has lower pressure than a teenager or an adult less than an elderly person. In healthy, athletic adults, normal blood pressure is 120/80 mm Hg, Hypotension is synonymous with good cardiovascular health in these cases however it may be a sign of a problem related to vital organs in elderly patients. When the blood pressure is too low it means that there is not enough blood flow to the vital organs. I’ve read mixed information and I think I’m doing something wrong because I’m not gaining any muscle, my belly looks fatter and worst of all, my sex drive is worse and it’s causing problems with my girlfriend. I’ve watched so many of your videos and I’ve applied your advice. I’ve gotten great results with my health. However, I don’t think you’ve ever answers this topic - Please help me Dr. Sam” Actually, I have addressed this question in the past, but not in detail or directly and that’s why I’m bringing this up today. And the truth is that I get a lot of questions about this topic. So the fact is that exercise can increase OR decrease your testosterone levels. It all depends on what you do, when, where, how often and for how long. And thus, you can gain OR lose muscle. Decrease OR increase belly fat. Gain OR lose strength. Increase OR decrease your energy levels. Improve or decline immune system. And you can increase or decrease your sex drive, libido and happiness. When I was younger, I would exercise 5-6x weekly. I would work out for at least an hour. I would lift heavy weights, I’d push hard and go to “failure” on all my exercises. I would also do cardio almost daily - for at least 30 minutes or more. Typically it was the bike, jogging, stairmaster, etc. It was a hard workout and I would always leave the gym feeling exhausted. However, I felt like I had a good, “honest” workout because I gave it my all and pushed as much as I can. I did this for years… The end result - sadly, I looked the same all the time!... I always seemed like I had a cold and I’d get sick often. I never had any energy to do much else -- I was just tired from my workouts. The end result is I looked “skinny-fat”. You know, not muscular or “lean”. It just didn’t look good. I was “puffy” and “squishy” all the time. And sadly, my sex drive was kinda “blah”. Granted, because I was YOUNG, it was still “okay”. However, compared to my friends - it was much lower. Then one day I decided to do a hormone test because I was just curious. Well, guess what -- my testosterone levels were low. Worst of all, my “negative” hormones were “high”... Thus, my hormones were not good, not optimal -- definitely not for a 23 year old man. ...When things should have been much better and I should have had super high testosterone levels. I realized then that without the right hormones - it doesn’t matter what you do, how much you exercise or what you eat -- you’re screwed! This is why steroids are so powerful. They give you “optimal” levels. However, you can make your own“natural steroids” from within, and not have any of the negative side-effects … IF you know what to do and more importantly, what NOT to do. So what does all of this have to do with the original topic of “exercise and increasing or decreasing your testosterone levels”?... Here’s the basic “short cuts” on the “do’s” and “don’ts” DO Lift weights! Keep your workouts short, 45 minutes or less. Workout no more than 4x weekly. Do one workout with heavier weights and lower reps - about 8-10 repetitions. And the next workout higher, about 12-15 reps. One week out of every month, reduce your sets and have easier workouts. DON’TS Eliminate or limit stressful cardio. This means no running, jogging, biking, etc. These all decrease your testosterone and increase stress hormones. Don’t kill yourself every workout, go to failure, pushing hard, etc. When you are “natural” and have “regular” genetics, you can’t push so much, so often… When I ask most people “what’s the opposite of testosterone”, people typically reply back with “estrogen”, the female hormone. However, this is not true. Actually, the opposite of testosterone is the stress hormone, cortisol. Cortisol does the opposite of testosterone. It decreases muscle and strength, increases belly fat, makes you tired and kills your sex drive. Again, “stress” is bad and the wrong workouts will cause stress on your body. ========================================­ Thank you for watching.
