Is Red Meat Really That Bad For You?

Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about red meats and what the actual study that most people use to prove that red meat is bad, really says. The Nurse Health Study was an observational study based on a questionnaire. This is not the best way to do a true study. The real danger is consuming red meat has to more with the added nitrates, the GMO corn and soy commercial meats contain. Grass fed beef has more omega 3 fatty acids and all studies on meats were focused on commercial animals, not grass fed animals. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observational_study file:///C:/Users/use/Downloads/ioi110027_555_563.pdf http://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullarticle/1134845 https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-almost-everything-dean-ornish-says-about-nutrition-is-wrong/ http://garytaubes.com/2012/03/science-pseudoscience-nutritional-epidemiology-and-meat/ Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional and natural methods. Top 10 Cancer Causing Foods You Should Avoid

08:56
Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells. There are more than 100 types of cancer, including breast cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma. Possible signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss and a change in bowel movements. Many cancers can be prevented by not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, not drinking too much alcohol, eating plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains, not eating too much processed and red meat, and by avoiding many cancer causing foods that we have listed below. Microwave popcorn bags are lined with perfluorooctanoic acid, a compound that has been linked to various types of cancer, including liver, testicular and pancreatic cancer. Canned foods allow you to enjoy your favorite vegetables throughout the year. However, if you are concerned about your health, avoid canned food, especially canned tomatoes. The cans used to pack tomatoes and other foods are lined with a product called bisphenol A, BPA, an endocrine disruptor that may mimic or disrupt hormones and increase the risks for breast cancer, prostate cancer, early puberty, metabolic disorders, infertility, and several other problems. Farmed salmon is nowhere near as healthy as wild salmon, and eating farmed salmon puts you at a higher risk of developing cancer. Farm-raised fish are fed unnatural diets and contaminated with chemicals, antibiotics, pesticides and other known carcinogens found in materials like asbestos. Hydrogenated oils are vegetable oils, which cannot be naturally extracted like olive oil, soy or canola oil, they are chemically extracted from vegetables and is again chemically treated to change the smell and taste. This process turns unsaturated fat into a stable solid fat, resulting in trans fatty hydrogenated oil which is considered to be the worst type of fat and is known to cause cancer, heart disease, and immune system problems. Potato chips are deep-fried in temperatures above 120 degrees Celsius, which causes them to create a material called acrylamide, a well-known carcinogen found in cigarettes. Genetically modified foods (GMOs) are a rapidly growing industry and have made their way into the majority of our foods like corn, potatoes, grains and soybeans. Such food products are grown using harmful chemicals and, when consumed, can lead to immune system, brain and liver damage. Refined sugar, artificial sweeteners and fructose-rich sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup are not good for your health. These products tend to rapidly spike insulin levels and feed the growth of cancer cells. Refined White flour contains excess carbohydrates that are not good for your health and even increase the risk of cancer. During the milling process, white flour is bleached with chlorine gas, which is highly toxic for the body. Processed meats such as ham, sausage and bacon have chemicals and preservatives like sodium nitrates, which make them bad for your health. In addition, processed meat contains excessive salt, which is also not good for you. Pickled and smoked foods are delicious but, at the same time, very harmful to the body. In fact, smoked meats that pick up tar from the smoking process cause extreme harm to your body. Plus, most pickled foods contain nitrates that turn into N-nitroso, which increases your risk of cancer.

Why Meat Is Bad For You- In 60 Seconds

01:30
We have been told that animal flesh is an essential part of a healthy diet, but meat consumption has been associated with almost all the major diseases. Meat is high in fat, saturated fat and cholesterol, which will increase the risk of heart disease and can cause other serious health problems like diabetes. It is high in animal-protein, which is far too acidic for the human body and has been linked to kidney disease, cancer and osteoporosis. Most meat also contains antibiotics and growth hormones, like oestrogen and testosterone, which can promote cancer growth. And fish is often contaminated with mercury, which is toxic, and can cause brain damage, and may also contribute to atrial fibrillation and fatal heart attack risk. Fortunately, there is no need to consume meat or other animal products, and a wholefoods, plant-based diet can provide all the essential nutrients for long-term health. Foods You WOULDNT Eat Again If You Knew HOW They're Made!

10:38
Check out these foods you wouldn't eat again if you knew how they're made! This top 10 list of worst foods shows the unbelievable process you didn't know it goes through to turn into the food products we know today! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Fake Food YOU Eat Every Day!" video here: https://youtu.be/exqcb4DFhzo Watch our "Most SHOCKING Things Found In Your Favorite Foods!" video here: https://youtu.be/WOCg6ls3eIw Watch our "What 1$ Can Buy You Around The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/hyH6CSGpuOs 8: Diet Soda We all knew this was coming. I don't think many people believe soda is healthy but many believe that the diet option is at least a healthier alternative to regular. In some ways however it can actually be less healthy! It almost always has zero calories because of the artificial sweeteners and additives that are much more powerful than sugar, so they don't need as much of it. These sweeteners don’t count as calories, but they do have all kinds of other side effects. They can damage your teeth and cause the brain to release chemicals that could trigger addiction. Also, your body has trouble digesting and using these types of sweeteners so there is very little nutritional value as a result. The interesting part is that diet soda can actually cause you to gain weight by causing production of insulin. This puts your body into fat-storage mode. In addition, studies have shown that people who regularly drink diet sodas are at a much higher risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. Many health professionals also mention that diet soda actually makes you hungrier and can lead to eating other unhealthy items, making the effects harder to reverse. In fact, many studies have connected artificial sweeteners like aspartame to emotional disorders like depression! Still, as some of the most popular sodas in the world, diet sodas are consumed by millions and their spokespeople defend their brands. Many doctors recommend looking for drinks with natural sweeteners, like stevia, or simply drink naturally sweet fruit juices. In any case, usually anything with a sweetener is bad for you. If you really want soda, just drink the real thing. Just don’t drink 5 of them in a day! 7: Bacon I know. I don’t want to spoil this for you guys, but many doctors are taking a firm stance against this popular breakfast meat. If you are a vegetarian then you don’t have to worry! The problem is that bacon is one of the most unhealthy meats you can eat, packed with salts and fats. In fact, the World Health Organization mentioned that regularly eating bacon can be almost as dangerous as smoking! There have also been several reports linking bacon and other meats with a higher risk of cancer and heart disease. High levels of saturated fat and cholesterol make this a big no-no for the heart conscious, as these can raise blood pressure and potentially cause a heart attack or stroke. Sometimes factory bacon can come from pigs that have been in high stress environments making them more likely to be sick, which can directly affect you too. Bacon has shown to be addictive, and can lead to other unhealthy food choices. It has even been linked in males to a lower sperm count and less healthy sperm, which could make it harder to conceive. Healthier alternatives include turkey bacon and vegetarian substitutes, but we all know its not the same thing. You have to decide whether it’s worth it or not! 6: Jell-O Gelatin or the brand name Jell-O, have been a staple of North American desserts for generations. Not many stop to question what is inside it, and simply enjoy the delicious low-calorie treat for what it is. The truth is that gelatin is actually made from the bones and hides of animals such as cows and pigs. You know hooves and things like that. Gelatin is made up of collagen which is collected after boiling the required animal parts. While this is pretty gross, it’s not necessarily that unhealthy. Some people argue it is good for your hair and nails. Then artificial sweeteners and colors are added to give gelatin its trademark look. Artificial flavors are also added according to the type of jello. It is also loaded with preservatives that can help it lasts months on the shelf, waiting for a customer. Or the end of the world. In Europe, gelatin actually carries a warning label due to one of the dyes commonly used in its creation. It is called Red dye #40 and studies have linked the dye to hyperactivity in children. However Red dye 40 is actually in many, many candies, snacks, and drinks, not just Jello. Alternatives such as agar-agar exist and are used as a vegan alternative for those who still want to eat it but without all of these weird ingredients. 7 Everyday Foods That Are Slowly Killing You

04:36
Your ultimate body transformation plan: http://goo.gl/sqS1Ec If you want to be the best, most fit, healthy, and RIPPED version of yourself, you have to know that some foods just aren't going to help you out. There are also some that may SEEM healthy, but they might actually be HURTING you. 0:09 - Number 7 - Canned tomato sauce! It has tons of hidden sugar & high fructose corn syrup, which contribute to a variety of diseases like obesity, diabetes, & even dental decay. Instead, top your pasta with low sugar, low sodium tomato sauce, or make your own with fresh tomatoes & herbs! 0:45 - Number 6 - Pre-packaged deli meats. Nitrates are a ticking time bomb,& consider the levels of sodium, preservatives, and additives that are in these foods. Adults who regularly partake have increased chances of heart disease and cancer. Buy meat straight from your local butcher. It may not last as long, but they'll contain far fewer harmful preservatives. 1:17 - Number 5 - Whole Milk. Whole milk is packed with a lot of saturated fats (the bad fats), and they're also jam packed with bovine growth hormone. This synthetic hormone is engineered to help cows produce more milk. Alternatives like soy, rice, and almond milk are better options! 1:39 - Number 4 - Hot dogs - and any other meats that are cured, smoked, or salted & contain chemical preservatives. Processed hot dogs should carry cigarette style warning labels! Weekly consumption can increase your chances of colorectal cancer by 21%! Luckily, try meat from organic butchers instead. 2:12 - Number 3 - Sports drinks like gatorade, vitamin water, and powerade. These drinks contain TONS of sugar - More than one of these a day and you're more likely to get diabetes than get shredded. You're better off sticking to plain water, which you should certainly drink plenty of regardless! 2:42 Number 2 - Gluten free Junk Foods! Just because it's gluten free doesn't mean it's good for you. Gluten is a protein found in certain grains, and almost 1/3 of the US population wants to go gluten free - so food companies noticed & started producing more "gluten free health foods"... But these foods actually usually aren't healthy AT ALL. Instead of gluten grains, they're made of other starches that are usually highly refined, void of nutrients, and spike blood sugar fast. 3:25 Number 1 - Artificial Sweeteners - SPLENDA is the worst! You may have made the transition to one of these because they contain fewer calories. However, just because they're "Safe for human consumption" doesn't mean you should. Studies have linked zero calorie foods and beverages to heightened risk of metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, weight gain, and cardiovascular disease. Get started on your six pack with a proper diet and exercise program backed by exercise scientists NOW: http://goo.gl/sqS1Ec Thanks for tuning in, guys. Now you can make sure to avoid these foods that are actually terrible for you so you can get shredded faster instead of causing harm to your body. Once I stopped eating and drinking foods with these ingredients or chemicals, It helped me see my muscle definition a LOT faster! Once you begin to do these things, I bet you'll feel a lot better a lot faster too! What Causes Insulin Resistance?

05:15
Prediabetes and type 2 diabetes are caused by a drop in insulin sensitivity blamed on “intramyocellular lipid,” the buildup of fat inside our muscle cells. Next, in The Spillover Effect Links Obesity to Diabetes (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-spillover-effect-links-obesity-to-diabetes), I talk about how that fat can come either from our diet or excess fat stores, and then in Lipotoxicity: How Saturated Fat Raises Blood Sugar (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/lipotoxicity-how-saturated-fat-raises-blood-sugar) show how not all fats are equally to blame. STOP EATING MEAT - The Main CAUSE of CANCER!!! Lower CANCER RISK by Avoiding CANCER CAUSING FOODS

12:23
How To Lower CANCER Risk with Cancer Fighting FOODS? What you eat—and don’t eat—can have a powerful effect on your health, including your risk for cancer. While research tends to point to associations between specific foods and cancer, rather than solid cause-and-effect relationships, there are certain dietary habits that can have a major influence on your risk. For example, eating a traditional Mediterranean diet rich in fruit, vegetables, and healthy fats like olive oil can lower your risk for a variety of common cancers, including breast cancer. Conversely, a diet that includes a daily serving of processed meat increases your risk of colorectal cancer. Do You Know What Rotten Bananas Treat? What If You Stopped Eating Sugar for 1 Week

08:46
Eating too much sugar can seriously affect your health. What will happen to your heart, brain, and skin, if you quit sugar at least for a week? Eating too much sugar leads to weight gain, sharp mood swings, and even addiction. Some nutritionists consider sugar to be even more dangerous than fat, but we still don’t pay enough attention to the amount of sugar we consume every day. What will happen to you if you quit sugar at least for a week? Well, the changes are going to be incredible! We're going to tell you how you'll feel if you stop eating donuts and if it’s even worth the effort. You'll overcome a serious addiction 0:55 Your breath will be better 1:33 You’ll increase your brain power 2:13 You’ll be less likely to have Alzheimer’s disease 2:44 Your skin will look younger 3:11 Your heart will thank you 3:36 You’ll have less bad cholesterol 4:09 You’ll have a much better mood 4:29 You'll finally get a good sleep 5:04 You’ll be less likely to have diabetes 5:35 You'll lower the risk of having cancer 6:03 Your eyesight will be sharper 6:23 You'll lose weight fast 6:50 You'll see your doctor less often 7:22 You'll save a crazy amount of money 7:57 SUMMARY - Studies show (and that might sound shocking) that sugar is actually more addictive than cocaine! Lab rats were given cocaine until they became addicted to it. - Sugar is often linked to the development of numerous lung conditions, so lowering sugar intake results in weakening asthma symptoms. - Studies have shown that sugar hinders such activities as learning and memorizing things. - A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that giving up sugar may result in your acne disappearing. Sugar is inflammatory, and inflammation is known as a cause of acne. - People who eat too much sugar have a much higher risk of having a heart attack. - High sugar intake raises levels of bad cholesterol and blood fats that can clog your blood vessels, leading to severe heart conditions that can be a huge threat to your life. - Studies found that people, who eat very little sugar or none at all, are rarely diagnosed with depression. - You will be very active throughout the day and ready to sleep when the bedtime comes. Your day/night cycle will be more naturally balanced. - When you eat too much glucose, high insulin resistance develops. It means that sugar can’t get into your cells and can get stuck in the bloodstream. - Pancreatic cancer is often linked to high sugar intake. However, the results of the studies haven’t been entirely consistent; it’s better not to take the risk on this one. - Sugar also affects the health of your eyes. Fluctuations of insulin and glucose levels lead to vessel damage and decrease blood supply to your eyes. - When you eat a lot of sugar, especially fructose, you are very likely to overeat. The pancreas is forced to produce more insulin, so other hormones that regulate metabolism, digestion, and weight are neglected. - Your immune system is seriously affected by consumption of large amounts of sugar. You are protected from bacteria and viruses by white blood cells. - Stop eating sugar and spending money on doctors, dentists, those expensive acne concealers and sweet food and drinks that only harm you. Avoid These 12 Foods To Prevent Heart Diseases

04:42
The moment your heart stops pumping blood, that is the end of it, we die. Heart is one of the most vital organs of our body. Hence, in order to have a healthy body it is very important to have a healthy heart. So how do we ensure a healthy heart? The food that we eat plays a crucial role in maintaining the heart health. Here is a list of foods which need to be strictly avoided if you want a healthy heart. Well, in the recent times with the sedentary lifestyle and fast moving lives, despite knowing the fact that the food is bad we tend to grab and munch it. As there is no time to cook, to satiate hunger we end up eating outside food. All these will in turn have a bad effect on our heart. It is the heart that pumps the blood through the blood vessel to the entire system, thus providing life to the human being. But when the heart gets affected, it has a tremendous effect on the entire system. In this video we have listed certain foods that need to be avoided in order to prevent heart diseases. Take a look. 1. Processed Meat: Processed meats contain several compounds which help to keep the meat stay fresh for a longer period of time. What foods are bad for asthma? What not to eat? What should you avoid if you have asthma? Studies show that certain foods can help prevent or minimize common asthma symptoms, such as wheezing, chest tightness and shortness of breath. Likewise, there are foods that make them worst. Here we have listed worse foods for asthma sufferers: Peanuts: One study found children with asthma who also had a peanut allergy seemed to develop asthma earlier than kids without a peanut allergy and were also more likely to be hospitalized and more likely to need steroids. Many asthmatic children with peanut allergies also have allergies to grass, weeds, cats, dust mites and tree pollen, all of which can trigger asthma attacks. Dried Fruit: Many kinds of dried fruit include sulfites, and one of the most problematic additives in foods for many people with asthma. Wine or beer: Many kinds of wine and beer also contain sulfites. You may have to forsake that glass of cabernet if you find yourself coughing or wheezing after indulging. Some research also suggests that histamines in wine can cause symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing and wheezing. Smoking: Cigarette smoke contains different chemicals and gases that can irritate the lungs. Smoking not only increases your chance of getting asthma but also worsens the symptoms such as coughing and wheezing. Also, smoking during pregnancy is known to increase the risk of decreased lung function and wheezing in infants. 9 Foods Diabetics Should Never Eat - The Health Nerd

04:01
9 Foods Diabetics Should Never Eat - The Health Nerd Here are the foods we recommend diabetics avoid: 1. Fruit Juices Store bought fruit juices are full of extra sugar that will cause glucose levels to spike. Drinking these kinds of juices on a regular basis has been proven to increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. Eating a piece of natural, whole fruit is a great alternative. 2. Sugary Carbonated Drinks Soft drinks and energy drinks are terrible for our bodies. They contain an enormous amount of sugar and calories that are making people obese at an alarming rate. Those who already struggle with weight issues are more likely to run the risk of developing diabetes, if they continue to consume these drinks that are full of preservatives and additives. 3. White Bread There’s an old adage that says, “The whiter the bread, the quicker you’re dead.” Although that may be alarming, for someone with diabetes, this kind of bread that contains bleached flours and refined starches doesn’t do much for us besides drive our blood sugar levels up. Refined carbohydrates are best to avoid. Instead, look for whole grains and oats that contain more fiber and don’t cause spikes in blood sugar levels. 4. White Rice Here’s another refined product that diabetics should avoid. Studies have shown that if you eat white rice once a day, you’re 27% more likely to develop diabetes than if you were to eat whole grains on a daily basis. White rice is digested easily by our bodies and causes our glucose levels to rise quickly after eating it. Grains with a high fiber count are better for us than white rice. 5. Potatoes Though they taste great and are filling, the starchy potato should be avoided by those who suffer from blood sugar problems. The starch in potatoes gets broken down too quickly by our bodies and is absorbed into the blood stream. When that happens, our blood sugar levels are going to rise quickly. This warning also includes French fries and potato chips. Not only are both made from potatoes, they’re also deep fried in hydrogenated oils that lead to an increase in cholesterol levels. So, eating French fries could lead to a greater risk of diabetes and heart disease. 6. Artificial Sweeteners Slick marketing tactics have sold artificial sweeteners to diabetics as a healthy alternative to sugar. They’re not. These industrialized products hurt us more than help us by reducing insulin sensitivity. They also tend to slow down our metabolism and calorie burning ability. For someone with diabetes, it would be better to consume sugar in moderation than these chemically-ridden sweeteners. 7. Raisins Raisins are a quick and tasty snack that’s rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber. But they also cause spikes in blood sugar, and that’s why people with diabetes should try to avoid them. 8. Fat Cuts of Meat Fatty cuts of pork or red meats like beef and lamb are harmful to those with blood sugar issues. They contain saturated fats and increase the risk of heart disease. They also increase inflammation in the body. 9. Whole Milk Dairy products are also loaded with saturated fats—especially whole milk and anything that is labeled as a full-fat dairy product. These kinds of dairy products raise cholesterol levels—most notably the LDL or bad cholesterol. They also have a negative effect on our insulin resistance. Almond milk is a healthier alternative. Processed meat had the highest association to cancer and cardiovascular disease while poultry had little to no association. And this isn’t the first study to link meat consumption to cancer. Pancreatic Cancer Risk Increases With Every 2 Strips of Bacon You Eat: A study funded by the Swedish Cancer Foundation examined 11 studies and case reports on more than 6,000 pancreatic cancer patients and found that every 50 grams of processed meat – roughly one sausage or two strips of bacon – you eat daily increases your risk of pancreatic cancer. Eating around 150 grams of process meat a day, makes you 57% more likely to suffer from pancreatic cancer. Although researchers still aren’t sure what mechanisms are to blame, nitrates and nitrites have often come under fire. Not because they’re toxic but because they have to potential to be. What Are Nitrates? Nitrates are naturally-occurring compounds found in the soil, air and water. They act as a preservative and color enhancer in meat products. The body uses nitrates to kill harmful bacteria (like salmonella) in the digestive tract, facilitate cell signaling, dilate blood vessels and increase energy. The problem is, when nitrates found in meat are exposed to high heat from cooking, they turn into compounds called nitrosamines. This can only happen when the right amino acids are present. These carcinogenic compounds are the real danger. They’re often found in cured meats, beer, some cheeses, nonfat dry milk, and processed fish. In fact, these foods are also linked to increased risk of bladder, esophageal and stomach cancer. Another popular nitrate-full food, hot dogs, is linked to a 700% increased risk of childhood leukemia. Eat Foods Rich In Vitamin C. While the best way to avoid these carcinogenic compounds is to cut out processed meats and dairy products all together, you can minimize your exposure to nitrosamines by eating vitamin C-rich foods during nitrate-rich meals to prevent nitrosamine from forming in the first place. 5 Foods You Should Never, Ever Eat | Foods you should never eat

5 Foods You Should Never, Ever Eat | foods you should never eat You know what they say: “You are what you eat.” In today’s high-cholesterol and trans-fat loving world, this age-old saying has begun to physically manifest itself more than ever before. Hectic lifestyles have made us lazy consumers. Seldom do we check the ingredients of the products we pick up at the supermarket. We just buy what is popular, without considering how it may affect our health. But our diet has a direct effect on our health and well-being. According to the World Health Organization, the majority of the world’s population lives in nations where excessive weight gain is a bigger killer than malnourishment. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women in the United States. An unhealthy diet is the window to obesity and chronic heart disease. When planning a healthy diet, there are certain foods that we must avoid at all costs to begin transitioning toward better health. Here are the top 5 foods you should never, ever eat. 1. Margarine Made from vegetable oils, margarine boasts lesser saturated fats than regular butter. For this reason, people consider it the healthier alternative. However, margarine is full of trans fatty acids (TFAs), or simply trans fats. TFAs are fats that occur when vegetable oil-based products are solidified. 2. Processed Meats Meat preserved by smoking, salting, drying or adding harmful preservatives like nitrates is processed meat. This includes bacon, ham, sausage, salami, beef jerky, canned and smoked meat. 3. Soft Drinks/Soda In the U.S., soda is the second most-preferred beverage of choice after water. One bottle of soda contains 44 grams of sugar. Consuming soda regularly spikes our blood sugar. The excess sugar is stored as fat, contributing to obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure. 4. Artificial Sweeteners As more people look to lower the calories in their diets, artificial sweeteners are replacing natural sugar in many products. However, recent research has shown that artificial sweeteners increase the risk of diabetes by raising blood sugar levels and negatively affect the body’s immune system. 5. Deep-Fried Foods Deep-fried foods like French fries, potato chips, onion rings, fried chicken and breaded cutlets are exceptionally delicious, but also exceptionally unhealthy. Oil contains fat, and in order to deep-fry food, you need lots of it. Deep-frying is also a slow process, allowing foods to absorb a lot of the fat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Our Social Links: Subscribe To Our Channel : https://goo.gl/7YPKcz For more tips see our blog: https://naturalhealthcarenhc.blogspot.com like us in Facebook: https://goo.gl/MmjtyD Follow us on twitter: https://goo.gl/USDg3k Google plus: https://goo.gl/B5B2oz Special thanks to: http://www.top10homeremedies.com If you found this information cool, useful or valuable please hit share and let your friends benefit from this as well!
Top 10 Cancer Causing Foods You Probably Eat Every Day

09:37
Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. Many cancers can be prevented by not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, not drinking too much alcohol, eating plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains and by avoiding many cancer causing foods you probably eat every day. Canned Tomatoes - Canned Tomatoes are not good for your health because the cans which is used to pack tomatoes are lined with a product called bisphenol A, BPA, an endocrine disruptor that may mimic or disrupt hormones and increase the risks for breast cancer, prostate cancer, early puberty, metabolic disorders, infertility, and several other problems. Microwave popcorn - Microwave popcorn is one of the most popular snacks in many parts of the world. But there are two safety issues involving the chemicals added into many brands of microwave popcorn. The first stems from the use of diacetyl in artificial butter flavor. Diacetyl appears to damage lungs when it is repeatedly inhaled in vaporized form. The other issue is with the lining of popcorn bags. Genetically modified foods- GMOs are grown using harmful chemicals and, when consumed, can lead to immune system, brain and liver damage. After GMO’s were introduced in 1996, GM vegetables fed to rats caused development of horrifying tumors. Soda Pop - Sodas are loaded with sugar and an empty source of calories that cause weight gain and contribute to the nationwide epidemic of obesity. Drinking large amounts of this rapidly digested sugar causes your blood sugar to spike which can lead to both inflammation and insulin resistance. Hydrogenated oils - Hydrogenated oils are vegetable oils, which cannot be naturally extracted like olive oil, soy or canola oil, they are chemically extracted from vegetables and is again chemically treated to change the smell and taste. This process turns unsaturated fat into a stable solid fat, resulting in trans fatty hydrogenated oil which is considered to be the worst type of fat and is known to cause cancer, heart disease, and immune system problems. Refined sugar and artificial sweeteners - Refined sugar, artificial sweeteners and fructose-rich sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup are detrimental for your health. These products tend to rapidly spike insulin levels and feed the growth of cancer cells. Farmed salmon - Farmed salmon is nowhere near as healthy as wild salmon, and eating farmed salmon puts you at a higher risk of developing cancer. Farm-raised fish are fed unnatural diets and contaminated with chemicals, antibiotics, pesticides and other known carcinogens found in materials like asbestos. Processed meats or red meat - Processed meats such as ham, sausage and bacon have chemicals and preservatives like sodium nitrates, which make them bad for your health. In addition, processed meat contains excessive salt, which is also not good for you. In a 2008 study published in the Nutrition and Cancer journal, researchers found that processed meat intake might be involved in the etiology of colorectal cancer. Pickled and smoked foods - Pickled and smoked foods are delicious but, at the same time, very harmful to the body. In fact, smoked meats that pick up tar from the smoking process cause extreme harm to your body. Plus, most pickled foods contain nitrates that turn into N-nitroso, which increases your risk of cancer. Alcohol - Drinking too much alcohol is not good for your health and can put you at certain types of developing cancer risks. Regularly drinking a large glass of wine a day can increase the risk of mouth, upper throat, oesophageal also known as food pipe, breast and bowel cancers. When you drink alcohol, it is converted into a toxic chemical called acetaldehyde in your body. This can damage your DNA and stop your cells from repairing that damage, which can lead to various types of cancer.

Arizona man, 110 years-old, credits long life and health to 5 foods

01:42
MESA, Arizona - Good old father's advice and simple foods are credited with helping a Valley man reach a milestone birthday. "Eat properly and get your rest," recommends Bernando LaPallo. Words to live by considering the Mesa resident was born in Brazil in 1901 and has lived to be 110 years old. "They had no automobiles, no airplanes I saw them all come about," remembered LaPallo. LaPallo claims he's never been sick a day in his life. He walks every morning and eats mostly organic fruits and veggies. "People ask me what do you do to stay so young," LaPallo explained. "I say, 'Well you've heard the old saying, you are what you eat.'" So what's LaPallo's secret? Five foods: garlic, honey, cinnamon, chocolate and olive oil. "Use olive oil on your skin," LaPallo said. "Rub your feet rub your arms you'll never rust." Healthy habits LaPallo picked up from his father, a doctor, who lived to be 98. Full story at ABC 15 http://www.abc15.com/news/region-southeast-valley/mesa/valley-man-turns-110-years-old-and-said-5-foods-helped-him-live-long-life "He told me not to eat ordinary red meat," expressed LaPallo. "He said lamb is okay but red meat, stay away from it. Hot dogs, french fries and all those things don't eat it." LaPallo keeps his brain sharp by being a voracious reader, solving crossword puzzles and playing checkers. "I can remember things my father told me when I was 8 years old," LaPallo recalled. A father who showed his son how to have a rich life worth living. "And he taught me how to live, how to eat and to have faith in God and he would take care of me," smiled LaPallo. "And so far it has happened."

Red meat consumption increases chance of diabetes

04:23
Red meat consumption increases chance of diabetes. US-based Harvard University School of Public Health researchers have revealed the results of a first-ever study to examine the effects of different types of meat on type 2 diabetes. They concluded that one small daily serving of unprocessed red meat increased diabetes risk by 12% over a decade, while one daily serving of processed red meat, like bacon, increases the likelihood by 32%. The authors also found that substituting other protein sources, such as nuts and whole grains, correspondingly reduces diabetes risk. Our sincere thanks, Harvard researchers, for sharing these facts about both the harms of meat consumption and the benefits of plant-based alternatives. Wishing that people everywhere may avoid all such health hazards by turning toward the humane and wholesome vegan fare.

8 Impressive Benefits of Ghee (Clarified Butter)

05:55
While it’s gaining in popularity in recent years, not everyone has heard of ghee; it’s a powerhouse of vitamins and acids which promote good health. Ghee is its own unique class of butter. When butter is boiled, milk solids caramelize and are removed. Ghee is the concentrated residue of pure fats that remains. It has a distinct nutty taste, and contains no trace of milk proteins, sugars or water. It is one of the highest food sources of butyric acid and is bursting with vitamins and fatty acids, both unsaturated and saturated. It also loaded with omega 3 and 9. Similar to butter, ghee must be consumed in moderation - no more than 3 or 4 teaspoons daily. Too much ghee can produce harmful effects. In today’s video, we will describe eight health benefits of including ghee in your diet. 1. Builds Strong Bones Ghee is one of the few foods that is rich in vitamin K, especially vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 is essential in helping the body utilize minerals, including calcium. In fact, this potent vitamin builds bones more efficiently than calcium. Maintaining a proper level can also protect against tooth decay. Another function of ghee is to keep joints and connective tissues lubricated, increasing flexibility. 2. Immune System Booster Ghee is brimming with vitamin A, which helps eliminate free radicals in the body. Vitamin A is also tasked with keeping the immune system functioning properly. That’s not all; vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant that may help prevent certain types of cancer, especially ulcerative colitis that could otherwise lead to colon cancer. 3. Boosts Energy Level Since experts recommend that athletes use ghee as a consistent energy source, perhaps we should take the same advice. The fatty acids in ghee are quickly processed by the liver and burned as energy. Besides boosting metabolism and energy levels, ghee aids in the body’s absorption of fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E and K, which enhance stamina. 4. High Smoking Point While being processed, ghee can endure a higher “smoking point” compared to coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil. This means when the temperature rises to the stratosphere – or 482 Fahrenheit – it won’t break into free radicals. These villainous free radicals are unstable molecules that create havoc on our health, from premature aging to cancer. So when you consume ghee, your risk level of ingesting those villains are extremely low. 5. Improves the Digestive Tract A 2000 study revealed that people with unhealthy digestive tracts don’t naturally produce butyric acid. Since good digestion is a key to good health, it’s essential to incorporate foods rich in butyric acid into your diet to aid digestion. 6. Reduces Inflammation Butyric acid is one of the major fatty acids that the body needs to fight inflammation, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. Patients suffering from ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease or other inflammatory bowel diseases would be wise to include ghee in their diet. 7. Improves Eye Health Vitamin A makes the list because of its ability to improve eye health and protect against several eye-related health problems. This powerful antioxidant aids in eliminating and neutralizing free radicals that attack the macular cells. 8. Healthier Skin Ghee’s natural properties can keep skin moisturized over a long period of time. It penetrates deep into the skin to keep it hydrated; dry skin accelerates premature aging, including wrinkles, fine lines and saggy skin. Here’s how to apply ghee: Warm a small amount of ghee until it’s at a comfortable temperature and generously apply to your skin. Massage thoroughly for five minutes. Wait ten minutes before showering. Following this procedure daily will create lasting, glowing skin. To treat chapped lips, apply a thin film and leave on overnight. You can store ghee without refrigeration for years and it will still remain fresh. Since the milk solids have been removed during the processing, ghee can be safely consumed by people who are lactose intolerant. Ghee is also an alternative for those who looking for a butter substitute. Top 8 Cancer Causing Foods You Should Avoid

Top 8 Cancer Causing Foods you Should Avoid: Genetically Modified Foods (GMOs): The rapidly growing industry of genetically modified crops are infiltrating our food supply at an alarming rate. More than 90% of our corn and soy are now genetically modified. This fairly new practice is the source of many debates. Experts agree that adequate testing was not done before GMO foods were added to the ingredient listing of thousands of products. In other words, no one – including the growers and manufacturers of GMO foods – knows the long-term effect they will have on human health. Look for GMO-free labels whenever possible or buy organic (which always means a product is not genetically modified). Microwave Popcorn: From the chemically-lined bag to the actual contents, microwave popcorn is at the center of lung cancer debates around the world. Not only are the kernels and oil likely GMO (which the manufacturer does not have to disclose) unless organic, the fumes released from artificial butter flavoring contain diacetyl, which is toxic to humans. Make your own organic popcorn the old-fashioned way – it tastes better, doesn’t release toxic fumes, and is a healthier choice for you. Canned Goods: Most cans are lined with a product called bisphenol-A (BPA), which has been shown to genetically alter the brain cells of rats. Many plastic goods, thermal paper, water lines, and many dental composites also contain BPA. Help protect your DNA by sticking to fresh or frozen vegetables that have no added ingredients for your family’s table! These are better for you and available year-round. Grilled Red Meat: While grilled food can taste delicious, scientists have discovered that preparing meats in this way – especially processed meats like hot dogs – releases a carcinogen called heterocyclic aromatic amines. When you grill red meat to the point of well-done, it changes the chemical and molecular structure of the meat. You’re better off baking, broiling, or preparing meat in a skillet than on the grill. Refined Sugar: The biggest cancer causing food (by far) is high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and other refined sugars. Even brown sugar is highly refined white sugar with some of the removed molasses added back in for flavor and color. Refined sugars (and foods made with them) are the source of major insulin spikes and feed the growth of cancer cells. Since the majority of the sugar supply in the U.S. is made using genetically modified (GMO) sugar beets, a healthier option is organic honey, coconut sugar, or maple sugar. Now that oncologists are using diabetes medication to fight cancer cells, there’s no doubt (finally) that those mutated cancer cells love sugar. Salted, Pickled, and Smoked Foods: These products typically contain preservatives, such as nitrates, which are intended to prolong shelf life. The additives used in processed foods can accumulate in your body over time. Eventually, such toxins cause damage at the cellular level and lead to diseases like cancer. When smoked foods are cooked at high temperatures, the nitrates are converted to the much more dangerous nitrites. (Note: By pickled foods we don’t mean the fermented foods you make at home.) Soda and Carbonated Beverages: Sodas have been at the center of the health debate for two decades as a major cancer causing food. Filled with high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), dyes, and a host of other chemicals, they are very bad for every aspect of your health. They provide zero nutritional value and rob your body of the nutrients you get from other foods. Adding “diet” to the label means you’re also likely consuming aspartame – which is no better than rat poison to human cells. Farmed Fish: Commercial fish farming involves raising an incredible number of fish (such as salmon), in a crowded environment. More than 60% of the salmon consumed in the United States comes from a farming operation where they are treated with antibiotics, pesticides, and other carcinogenic chemicals to try and control the bacterial, viral, and parasitic outbreaks that result from cramming so many fish in a small space. Farmed fish also don’t have as much omega-3 as wild salmon. Hydrogenated Oils: Vegetable oils are chemically extracted from their source, chemically treated, and more chemicals are added to change the smell and taste. They’re packed with unhealthy omega-6 fats (that Americans already consume way too much of) and have been proven to alter the structure of our cell membranes. Magical Drink to Reduce CHOLESTEROL in 2 weeks Naturally || Works 100% || Homemade ||

Magical drink to reduce cholesterol in 2 weeks. With Only Half Cup A Day You Will Lower Your Cholesterol and Lose Belly Fat Like Crazy!!! With Only 3 Tablespoons A Day You Will Lower Your Cholesterol and Lose Belly Fat Like Crazy!!! Cholesterol is a fatty substance made by your body and found in certain foods. Your body needs some cholesterol in order to function properly, but having too much (high cholesterol) puts you at risk for having a heart attack or stroke. The extra cholesterol that isn’t used by your body builds up in blood vessel walls, causing blockages. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), having high cholesterol doubles your risk of heart disease. Total cholesterol = LDL + HDL + Triglycerides  LDL (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "bad" cholesterol) HDL (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "good" cholesterol) Triglycerides (fats carried in the blood from the food we eat. Excess calories, alcohol, or sugar in the body are converted into triglycerides and stored in fat cells throughout the body.) The good news is that lifestyle changes are effective in helping you reduce cholesterol levels. They’re also fairly straightforward and can be done at any age. Exercise: Physical activity helps you lose weight and boosts your HDL levels. Aim for 30 to 60 minutes a day of moderate cardio. Eat more fiber: Replace white breads and pastas with whole grains. Eat healthy fats: Olive oil, avocado, and nuts all have fats that won’t raise your LDL. Limit cholesterol intake: Reduce the amount of high-saturated fat foods like cheese, whole milk, and high-fat red meats. Quit smoking. It’s important to remember that everyone is different. Family history and whether or not you have other conditions, such as diabetes, plays a role in your individual risks. Is Meat Good or Bad for you?

09:08
“Dr. Hyman, I see so many conflicting reports about meat,” begins this week’s house call question. “Some say it can be part of a healthy diet. Others declare it is the root cause of disease - including heart disease, cancer and diabetes. I have friends who completely avoid it and other friends of mine who embrace meat as an everyday staple. What’s the truth about meat?” I understand your confusion, especially with the conflicting, sometimes misleading information out there. Whether meat is good or bad depends on with whom you are talking. Paleo enthusiasts say meat is essential to longevity. Vegans will tell you to avoid it at all costs. The World Health Organization (WHO) recently stated processed meat and bacon are carcinogenic and red meat is most likely, as well.
