What is the treatment for hay fever?
What is the treatment for hay fever? What is the treatment for allergies? Readers Comments 1 Share Your Story Avoidance of identified allergens is the most helpful factor in controlling allergy symptoms. Attempts to control the environment and avoidance measures often significantly aid in resolving symptoms. However, allergy avoidance is often not easy. A thorough discussion with your physician is needed, and control measures may be required daily. If avoidance is not possible or does not relieve symptoms, additional treatment is needed. Many patients respond to medications that combat the effects of histamine, known as antihistamines. Antihistamines do not stop the formation of histamine, nor do they stop the conflict between the IgE and antigen. Therefore, antihistamines do not stop the allergic reaction but rather protect tissues from the effects of the allergic response. The first-generation antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl), chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton), dimenhydrinate (Dramamine), brompheniramine (Dimetapp and others), clemastine fumarate (Tavist, Allerhist), and dexbrompheniramine (Drixoral) frequently cause mouth dryness and sleepiness as side effects. Newer, so-called "non-sedating" or second-generation antihistamines are also available. These include loratadine (Claritin), fexofenadine (Allegra), cetirizine (Zyrtec), and azelastine (Astelin Nasal Spray). In general, this group of antihistamines is slightly more expensive, has a slower onset of action, is longer acting, and induces less sleepiness. Many of these medications are available over the counter. Discuss with a physician other antihistamine side effects that occasionally occur (for example, urine retention in males, fast heart rate, and others). Always discuss the potential side effects of any medication with a physician and/or pharmacist. Decongestants help control allergy symptoms but not their causes. Decongestants shrink the swollen membranes in the nose and make it easier to breathe. Decongestants can be taken orally or by nasal spray. Decongestant nasal sprays should not be used for more than five days without a doctor's advice, and if so, usually only when accompanied by a nasal steroid. Decongestant nasal sprays often cause a so-called "rebound effect" if taken for too long. A rebound effect is the worsening of symptoms when a drug is discontinued. This is a result of a tissue dependence on the medication. Some people with allergies need specialized prescription medications such as corticosteroids, cromolyn, and ipratropium (Atrovent) nasal sprays. These nasal sprays do not cause the rebound effect noticed with decongestant nasal sprays. Cortisone nasal sprays are very effective in reducing the inflammation that causes swelling, sneezing, and a runny nose. Cortisone can also decrease the formation of many chemicals involved in the allergic response. Many cortisone nasal sprays are on the market through prescription only. Intranasal steroids are typically the first-line medications for patients suffering from persistent allergies. Fluticasone (Flonase) is one medication available over the counter. Cromolyn is also an anti-inflammatory medication available over the counter. Although cromolyn is not as potent as cortisone, it is very safe. Cromolyn must be used well in advance of anticipated allergy symptoms to be useful. Ipratropium (Atrovent) nasal spray is available for drying a wet runny nose. It will not prevent allergic reactions. This is an atropine derivative and although usually very safe, a person sensitive to atropine should be cautious when taking this drug. Montelukast (Singulair) is an inhibitor of leukotriene action, another chemical involved in the allergic reaction. This medication is used for therapy of asthma and has also been approved for treatment of allergic rhinitis, but it is not a first-line therapy. It has been shown to be most effective in those for whom significant congestion is a primary complaint. It may also be used in some cases together with antihistamines. If antihistamines and nasal sprays are not effective or not tolerated by the patient, other types of therapy are available. Allergy desensitization or immunotherapy may be needed. Allergy immunotherapy stimulates the immune system with gradually increasing doses of the substances to which a person is allergic. Because the patient is being exposed to the allergy-inducing substance, an allergic reaction can occur and this treatment should be supervised by a physician. Although the exact way allergy desensitization works is not completely known, allergy injections appear to modify or stop the allergic reaction by reducing the strength of the IgE and its effect on the mast cells. This form of treatment is very effective for allergies to pollen, mites, cats, and especially stinging insects (for example, bees).

Severe Allergies after Seroquel Treatment for Systemic Yeast: STRATEGIES
Physician Brent Spiner has informed Gail (brain to brain) that she is not alone in her severe allergy problems as a result of Seroquel treatment for a systemic yeast infection. For other people who also suffer from a systemic yeast infection, and who have been on Seroquel to cure them of it, Gail shares what strategies she is using to help her get over her debilitating allergies (brought on by the Seroquel treatment for her systemic yeast infection). This particular yeast, when it becomes systemic, has a 60% mortality rate, but she has been cured, but now suffers from severe allergies from being on Seroquel (to purge her of the yeast and its toxins) for many years. She must remain on Seroquel for life or the yeast infection can come back and she must now also add Claritin Liqui-Gels to her regimen to cause her body to become less allergenic. Apparently, the caprylic glycerides in the Claritin Liqui-Gels will remove a highly allergenic protein that the yeast left in the cells throughout the body, which (with its removal) will eventually cause Gail's body to settle down and become more normal. This will take about three years, so she needs to be very careful with her diet for now and take her Seroquel every day (at the same time she takes the Claritin Liqui-Gels) and on a full stomach, to help her deal with the lactose monohydrate (to which she is allergic) in the Seroquel and her many, debilitating allergies brought on by how Seroquel purged the yeast and its allergenic toxins from her cells over the past several years. WARNING!! Do NOT start an elimination diet (eliminating allergenic foods, especially salicylates), without reading what is in this link. You could DIE!! http://www.foodcanmakeyouill.co.uk/testing-for-a-salicylate-sensitivity.html Visit Gail's site to learn how she deals with her allergies at http://www.gabriellechana.com/health.html. Towards the bottom of the page, click on the link SAFE FOODS for salicylate sensitivity to learn which foods Gail CAN eat. http://www.gabriellechana.com/Safe_Foods.htm Gail has compiled a list that shows what she CAN eat and products she CAN use. She did a nutritional assessment of her safe diet and has concluded that it can give her all her nutrients, but that she runs the risk of iron deficiency. She will go buy some hormone free chicken livers and hopes this will agree with her. http://www.gabriellechana.com/SAFE_FOODS_FOR_GAIL.htm

Five Lucky Kittens get Rescued by Dog Rescue
http://thedogliberator.com http://www.facebook.com/dogliberator As I posted on Facebook, last Saturday, my daughter Sarah went to the park with some friends, and they heard tiny kittens crying.  They found them living in a tree trunk, and rescued all five of them.  The fact that I'm highly allergic to cats didn't seem to stop my daughter one bit!  She called me and she was screaming, and begging for me to take them.  "We can't just leave them here Mommy, it's cold, and they have no food.  They are just babies!" Oh Brother! Less than an hour later, she and her friends walked into my house with five baby kittens.  I expected to see just average alley cats, but no!  I was shocked!  They are gorgeous. They all tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids!  They are  getting all of their shots and being spayed/neutered and microchipped today. Even though their fecal test was negative, we are going to give them a de-wormer, just to be safe.  I just can't believe how lucky we are that they are all very healthy!  We estimate that they are 12 weeks old and born approximately November 24th, 2011. I'll start with the largest male, Kibbles. He's 2 pounds, 15 ounces. He's a long-haired Tabby, and very stunning! The runt of the litter is Bits! He prefers to be under the pile, and he is a bit shy. He too is a long-haired Tabby. Cheese is my daughter's favorite. He is very playful. He is 2 pounds, 13 ounces and the Vet indicated that he's a Flame Point Siamese. Cookie Dough is the only Female. She and Cheese play together a lot! She is 2 pounds, 15 ounces, and the Vet indicated that she is a Snow Shoe Siamese. Next is Mischief, who has been adopted. Mischief is said to be a Lynx Point Siamese. He's the quiet one. That wraps up my daughter's first rescue.... kittens! I'd like to thank both of my children for handling the kittens and getting them socialized, and Emily Kennedy for helping me tend to them and take them to the vet with me, with my claritin and eye drops by my side! If you are interested in adopting one of these kittens, please email me at thedogliberator@gmail.com

SAVING YOU MONEY: Allergy Treatments
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville ranks as the 36th most challenging city to live with allergies. Low cost options for fighting allergies on a budget. Missy Black sounds like a lot of us these days.I'm really stuffed up, says Black. I can't breathe.Americans spend about $18 billion a year trying to get relief from the stuffy nose and watery eyes. So, we consulted Rite Aid pharmacist Orlie Segneri. The first thing they ought to do is analyze what is causing their allergies, says Segneri. Primarily, allergies are caused by pollen, pets and mold, and this time of year it's pollen.Tree pollen to be exact. To stave off an allergic reaction, Segneri says start an over the counter generic antihistamine. It is exactly the same thing and it works exactly the same way, says Segneri. The generic will save you 30-45% in fact. One name brand was $39.99. Generic? Half that. Another generic was a little over $15. The name brand? Nearly $30. We compared the active ingredient in the top 3. Allegra? 180 milligrams of fexofenadine in both the name brand and generic. Claritin? Exactly 10 milligrams of loratidine in both. Zyrtec? The generic and name brand both have 10 milligrams of cetirizine. Chances are, with a low cost store brand and a little free advice from your pharmacist, you may not need a prescription or a trip to the doctor after all.I think it's allergies because I'm not running a fever, says Black. I don't feel hot.Tree pollen is worst between 5-10am, so stay indoors and keep your windows closed. Reducing your exposure reduces your costs.

Budweiser "Lost Dog" Superbowl 2015 Commercial THE FEELS
Kim Kardashian Superbowl Commercial►►http://bit.ly/1BuEClX More Celebrity News ►► http://bit.ly/SubClevverNews Budweiser has done it yet again with its 2015 Super Bowl commercial. So grab your tissues and snuggle in, because if this spot doesn’t make you cry (at least a little), I’d actually question whether or not you’re human. Here it is, “Lost Dog,” Budweiser’s #BestBuds offering for this weekend’s big game ALL OF THE FEELS. Who would’ve ever thought a hot rustic rancher, a handful Clydesdales and Labrador puppy could have such an effect on a person? On the real, the addition of that wolf AND seeing the puppy covered in mud in the rain are what took things to the next level. So, now you know I’ve got a few questions: first off, are you impressed that Budweiser has done it again, making a beer commercial that pulls at the heartstrings? I mean, who do they think they are – Kodak? Just kidding – obviously, I’m obsessed? And second question – will you be tuning in to the Katy Perry bowl, uh I mean the Super Bowl this weekend? Hit us up in the comments then click here to see what Kim Kardashian has up her sleeve (or on her selfie) for this year’s superbowl because we’ve got your look at her commercial right here. Poison in the veins
The environment is full of toxins, but government agencies are trying to keep the danger under control by using biomonitoring. The results speak for themselves, as can be seen in the ban on leaded gasoline and stricter limits on the amount of plasticizers. Not only chemicals can pose a threat at the workplace, in the environment, and in our food. Microorganisms can also be a problem. That's why Merck has developed a number of products that can help with this important monitoring task. For further information read http://magazin.merck.de/en/Life_and_Responsibility/toxic_substances/Biomonitoring1.html German version: http://youtu.be/Q4EgXmqw6D4
Year-Round Allergies? It Could Be Mold
Does it seem like your allergies are year-round, inside or out? The problem could be within your home. Dr. Josh Orway says the coughing, sneezing and runny nose beyond spring and fall could mean the problem is in your home. How to reduce the presence of mold: ƒ‚‚‚ Close windows at night when mold spores outside tend to be at their highest. ƒ‚‚‚ Wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose when doing yard work such as raking leaves, mowing the lawn or working with compost. ƒ‚‚‚ Avoid going outdoors immediately after a rainstorm, in foggy or damp weather, or when the published mold count is high. ƒ‚‚‚ Eliminate sources of dampness in basements including pipe leaks or groundwater seepage. ƒ‚‚‚ Use dehumidifiers in any area that smells musty or damp and keep humidity levels below 50 percent. ƒ‚‚‚ Use air conditioning with a high-efficiency particulate air filter attachment that will help trap mold. ƒ‚‚‚ Change filters on a furnace and air conditioner regularly. ƒ‚‚‚ Properly ventilate bathrooms especially while using a shower or bath. ƒ‚‚‚ Avoid carpet in bathrooms and basements. ƒ‚‚‚ Dispose of old newspapers, books or magazines. Miracle drug (parody on drug commercials)
Amintime a new drug parody, Spokes model explains a new drug called Amintime and the benefits of using it in a parody of a pharmaceutical commercial. It is a miracle drug that takes away stress anxiety with claims that it will give you the best sleep you'll have in months. The end of the commercial is a list of potential and not so pleasant side effects of using the drug Amintime. This is a parody of those commercials and should not be taken seriously, although we did not do research on a drug that may be named Amintime, DO NOT ASK YOUR DOCTOR about Amintime it does not exist. This was taped against a green screen with compositing in After Effects and Vegas 10 Pro, with music created with Mixcraft 6, sound capture in Adobe Audition.
