Cell phone antennas blamed for kindergarten cancer cases - Chicago Tribune - January 8th 2010.flv

01:07
BY JEREMY TANNER wpix.com 5:27 p.m. CST, January 8, 2010 BAYVILLE, N.Y. (WPIX) - A lawsuit is set to be filed Monday alleging that the cancer afflicting students and teachers of a Bayville school is caused by the dozens of cell phone antennas attached to a nearby water tower. Three young students of Bayville Primary School have already died of leukemia and many more are sick. "We believe as much as 30 percent of the teachers, administrative staff and employees have been diagnosed with some type of illness, cancer, leukemia and things of that nature," said Attorney Andrew Campanelli. A brief email to WPIX from the school district denies Campanelli's statement. However, the cell phone antennas are a painful reminder for Beverly Pacifico, whose son Mitchell, a student at Bayville, recently won a painful two-year battle with leukemia. "My son went through 102 weeks of chemotherapy," Pacifico said. His leukemia has been in remission for the past two years. Bayville is a public school, and those parents in the district without the financial means to enroll their child in a private school face a terrible decision. Madeleine Parrin, whose requests to transfer her children to neighboring public schools were denied, said, "It kills me every day when I drop them off or send them on the bus to go to that school." The lawsuit seeks to have the antennas removed, citing a village law that states that public property near a school or within a mile of residences cannot be used for profit. The cell phone antennas bring $200 thousand annually to the village coffers. So far, the mayor of Bayville has not returned phone calls from WPIX. Indian Point Nuke Plant Middle School Cancer Cluster

01:45
At a June 4, 2014 NRC annual assessment of Entergy's leaky Indian Point nuclear plant, Social Studies teacher Vicki Fox talks about incidents of cancer among colleagues and students at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School in Yorktown Heights, New York. The middle school is located a little over eight miles from the nuclear plant. The video ends with the following indictment of the NRC from eminent scientist John Gofman: "Licensing a nuclear power plant is in my view, licensing random premeditated murder. First of all, when you license a plant, you know what you're doing--so it's premeditated. You can't say, "I didn't know." Second, the evidence on radiation-producing cancer is beyond doubt...It is not a question any more: radiation produces cancer, and the evidence is good all the way down to the lowest doses." The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Annual Assessment on Entergy's Indian Point nuclear plant was held at Colonial Terrace, Cortlandt Manor, New York Thanks to Indian Point Safe Energy Coalition for video recording the June 4th NRC meeting & making the video available for remixing by choosing "Creative Commons" licensing. Firefighters: Heroes Of Ground Zero (9/11 Documentary) - Real Stories

48:59
Check out our new website for more incredible documentaries: HD and ad-free. https://goo.gl/LwMcmY Three hundred and forty-three New York firemen died in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre. This documentary follows firemen from two very different fire stations as they cope with the aftermath. The firefighters tell their stories of the day itself - stories of extraordinary bravery, loss and guilt. One of Manhattan's busy mid-town firehouses lost six of its fire fighters, including Father Mychal Judge, the Fire Department's chaplain. The firehouse in Brooklyn has recovered only one of the bodies of the eight men who were killed in the attack. As the fire continues to smoulder at Ground Zero, we see the firemen juggling the pressures of keeping New York safe with organising countless funerals and memorials and supporting the families of their lost colleagues. This is a time of unthinkable tragedy for the FDNY and yet they show incredible strength as they go about their work in the face of extreme adversity. The fire fighters know that they may never be able to achieve the closure they long for, as the weeks turn into months, fewer and fewer bodies are being recovered from the wreckage of the WTC. Indian Point: A Quiet Reality

06:09
Indian Point is sited in the most populous location of any US nuclear plant, 25 miles north of Manhattan, with 20 million people living within a 50-mile radius. A catastrophic accident at Indian Point could kill tens of thousands, cause many cancers, and render NYC and much of the Hudson Valley uninhabitable. However, contamination of groundwater and environmental damage to the Hudson River ecosystem are already occurring. Elevated cancer rates are evidenced by NYS Department of Health's interactive cancer cluster map, which is found at https://apps.nyhealth.gov/statistics/cancer/environmental_facilities/mapping/map This video project draws attention to radiological contamination found in groundwater sampled under the Indian Point Nuclear facility and the correlation with thyroid cancer found in adjacent communities. The film, instead of portraying a "what if" scenario based on a major nuclear disaster at the plant, instead urges all to consider the quiet reality that exists for the health and safety of our communities and how Indian Point may be impacting people living near it today. This video was made through Jacob Burns Film Center's Media Arts Lab's "Reel Green Change for Nonprofits" during the fall 2012 by participant Julia Church of Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. Clearwater is working to close the aging, leaking Indian Point nuclear plant, which has reached the end of the 40-year lifespan for which it was designed, and stop the renewal of its license for an unthinkable 20 more years.

Dr. Michele LeRoux (MIT): Pseudomonas aeruginosa survives with a gut reaction using their T6SS

29:12
https://www.ibiology.org/microbiology/pseudomonas-aeruginosa/ When we think about bacteria, we don’t really think about the sufferings and struggles they go through when they fight to keep their homes. Dr. Michele LeRoux explains how bacteria interact with one another as they compete for environmental resources. She focuses on the Type Six Secretion System (T6SS), a protein complex in the membrane of some strains of bacteria that is used to fight and outcompete other bacteria. Studying this system in Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, she discovered that when these bacteria encounter other bacteria with T6SS, they are able to increase the amount of activated T6SS in their membranes. She noticed that Pseudomonas Aeruginosa could sense the death of sibling bacteria, which would activate their defense system. This novel immune response mechanism in bacteria provides insight on the bacterial responses to harmful cues. Speaker Biography: Dr. Michelle LeRoux completed her Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology at Colgate University, NY. She joined the Molecular and Cellular Biology doctorate program at University of Washington, where she worked with Dr. Joseph Mougous and studied bacterial social behavior and interspecies warfare. She joined Dr. Michael Laub’s lab at MIT as a postdoctoral associate and continues studying the molecular mechanisms of bacterial life.

Kidney Donor Chain

04:29
First NY--to--LA living-donor transplant chain results in triple kidney transplant. Innovative donor chain performed at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The "donor chain" is an innovative twist on efforts aimed at increasing the donor pool by giving people who are unable to donate to a loved one or friend the opportunity to still give a kidney through an exchange between incompatible donor-recipient pairs. The domino effect of "chains" creates recipient-donor "clusters," with each subsequent cluster beginning with a "leftover" donor who starts the new cluster. Why Would An Attorney Call a Press Conference? NY Medical Malpractice Attorney Oginski Explains

Why Would An Attorney Call a Press Conference? NY Medical Malpractice Attorney Gerry Oginski Explains http://www.oginski-law.com/blog/the-check-came-in-a-cardiac-nightmare-in-new-york.cfm NY Medical Malpractice & Personal Injury Trial Lawyer 516-487-8207 Email: Gerry@Oginski-Law.com There are really only two key reasons an attorney would call a press conference: 1. To draw attention to your problem and what happened to you, and 2. To draw attention to himself. An attorney who calls a press conference to highlight the problems you have experienced is doing so to tell the world about your tragedy. He wants to generate a groundswell of public opinion for you and against the doctor or hospital who caused you harm. This strategy can be effective in some cases when it applies public opinion pressure on the people who have caused you harm. It can, in some instances, help to pressure the people you have sued into negotiating a settlement earlier rather than later. The second reason an attorney would call a press conference is to highlight a great result the lawyer has achieved either by verdict or settlement. This is basically done to promote himself and his law firm. It gives people an opportunity to realize that if they have a similar problem, this lawyer may be the right one for them to help solve their legal problem. Watch the video to learn more... http://www.redspotsnyc.org/ (212)-644-6454 Angioma: Cherry What are angiomas? Angiomas are benign growths made up of small blood vessels. They can appear anywhere on the body. The three most common types are spider angiomas, angiokeratomas, and cherry angiomas. Cherry angiomas are red or purplish in color and don't usually grow larger than 1/4-inch in diameter. They can appear alone or in clusters. They are not dangerous. What causes cherry angiomas? No one knows what causes angiomas. Since they commonly appear after the age of 40, they may be related to aging. What is the treatment? Occasionally angiomas may become irritated (such as from rubbing against clothing) and need to be removed to avoid further problems. However, since most angiomas are harmless, most people have them treated for cosmetic reasons. There are three ways to have angiomas removed: Electrodessication uses an electric needle to destroy the blood vessels in the growth. Liquid nitrogen is a cold gas applied to the skin to freeze off the growth. Laser treatment uses a beam of intense, focused light to remove the growth. If an angioma recurs after treatment, your physician can repeat treatment until it is gone for good.

Anal Warts HPV Hemorrhoids vs Anal Fissue 720p | Dr. Lawrence Jaeger (212) 246-0800

#TheDoctors #TheDoctorsTV EXPERIENCING PAINS ‘IN THE BUTTOCK’? One of the most typical health conditions confused with hemorrhoids is anal warts. They are sorta the same… yet they stem from entirely different causes and therefore are treated in very different methods. Anal warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). This virus is highly contagious and often transmitted through sexual intercourse or skin-to-skin contact. An anal fissure is a small tear in the thin, moist tissue (mucosa) that lines the anus. The major distinction of course is the occurrence of pain. Anal dysplasia occurs when clusters of abnormal cells form lesions in the mucosa lining of the anal canal (between the anus and the rectum). There are over 100 different types of the human papillomavirus (HPV), anal dysplasia is usually caused by certain strains of HPV which can be transmitted sexually. #AnalInfections & #AnalDiseases: ie. #AnalDysplasia, #AnalCarcinoma & #AnalWarts #humanpapillomavirus #HPV #analdysplasia #molluscumcontagiosumtreatmentnyc #molluscumcontagiosumnyc #molluscumcontagiosumspecialistnew york #genitalwartsnyc #gentialwartstreatment #genitalwartsnyctreatment #genitalwartsclinic #genitalwartsclinicnyc #genitalwarts10019 #genitalwartscentralpark #genitalwartscolumbuscircle #rectalwartsnyc #wartsremovalnyc #dermatologistwartsnyc #treatmentgenitalwartsnyc #dermatologistgenitalwartsnyc #removegenitalwartsnyc #wartsnyc #genitalwartsclinicnyc #genitalwartsdoctornyc #nycdermatologistwarts #genitalwartsremovalnyc #genitalwartsspecialistnyc #genitalwartstreatmentnyc #genitalwartstestingnyc #analwartstestingnyc #analwartsclinic #analwartsclinicnyc #analwartsclinic10019 #analwartscliniccolumbuscircle #penilewarts #penilewartstreatment #penilewartstreatmentnyc #penilewartsclinic #penilewartsclinicnyc #penilewartsclinic10019 #penilwartsremoval #penilewartsremovalnyc #penilewartsremoval10019 #analwartsremovalnyc #analwartsremoval10019 #lawrencejaeger #larrydjaeger #drlarrydjaeger #drlawrencejaeger #centralpark #centralparksouth #larryjaeger #centralparkmedical #centralparkmedicalassociates #stdclinic #stdclinicnyc #stdtreatmentnyc #stdtreatmentclinic #stdtreatmentclinicnyc #analwartsclinic10019 #analwartstreatmentnyc #analwartstreatment10019 #samedaytestingnyc #samedaytesting10019 #samedaytestingcolumbuscircle #samedaytestingcentralpark #penilewartsclinicnyc
