Abilify: The Drug That Seriously Harms Your Impulse Control Center

03:14
Anyone who has ever dealt with a mental disorder, either personally or cared for someone suffering with one, knows that treatment of these conditions is incredibly difficult. And when you’re dealing with mental health, one of the worst possible outcomes of treatment is when it makes the condition worse, or causes side effects that are nearly equal to the condition they are designed to treat. And that appears to be the case with a medication called Abilify. Mike Papantonio discusses the dangers of this drug. Learn more about Abilify here: https://www.levinlaw.com/abilify-lawsuit-lawyer

ABILIFY® Aripiprazole‎ 1 Week Review + Side Effects

04:08
Don't forget to leave a like! Note: What I meant to say in the video is LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR, BUT do NOT take his advice to heart. Listen to yourself, your body, and your mind. Tell your doctor what is happening and keep in mind that he gets paid a lot no matter what he says. Also always get a second opinion. The more opinions/advice you have, the easier it will be for you to decide what is right for you. Aripiprazole, sold under the brand name Abilify among others, is an atypical antipsychotic. It is recommended and primarily used in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.[5] Other uses include as an add-on treatment in major depressive disorder, tic disorders, and irritability associated with autism.[6] According to a Cochrane review, evidence for the oral form in schizophrenia is not sufficient to determine effects on general functioning.[7] Additionally, because many people dropped out of the medication trials before they were completed, the overall strength of the conclusions is low.[7] Side effects include neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a movement disorder known as tardive dyskinesia, and high blood sugar in those with diabetes.[5] In the elderly there is an increased risk of death.[5] It is thus not recommended for use in those with psychosis due to dementia.[5] It is pregnancy category C in the United States and category C in Australia, meaning there is possible evidence of harm to the fetus.[5][8] It is not recommended for women who are breastfeeding.[5] It is unclear whether it is safe or effective in people less than 18 years old.[5] It is a partial dopamine agonist. Aripiprazole was developed by Otsuka in Japan. In the United States, Otsuka America markets it jointly with Bristol-Myers Squibb. From April 2013 to March 2014, sales of Abilify amounted to almost $6.9 billion.[9] POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, excess saliva/drooling, blurred vision, weight gain, constipation, headache, and trouble sleeping may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Abilify: A Drug That Will Push Into CRAZY ZONE

Learn more about Abilify dangers here: https://www.levinlaw.com/abilify-lawsuit-lawyer Anyone who has ever dealt with a mental disorder, either personally or cared for someone suffering with one, knows that treatment of these conditions is incredibly difficult. And when you’re dealing with mental health, one of the worst possible outcomes of treatment is when it makes the condition worse, or causes side effects that are nearly equal to the condition they are designed to treat. And that appears to be the case with a medication called Abilify. Mike Papantonio discusses the dangers of this drug with attorney Chris Paulos. Learn more about Chris Paulos here: https://www.levinlaw.com/attorney-profiles/chris-paulos Statistics show that about 1 out of 5 American citizens suffer from some form of mental illness each year. These illnesses run the gamut from depression to Tourette’s syndrome. And with a market of more than 42 million people a year as their potential clients, Big Pharma hasn’t wasted any time creating countless pills they claim will help solve your mental health problems. There are plenty of medications available that do provide relief for people suffering from mental health problems, but there are also a wide variety of pills that have had their efficacy overstated by drug companies who were just trying to cash in on the latest blockbuster market that has opened up. Abilify is an anti-psychotic medication manufactured and marketed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical and Bristol Meyers Squibb. Its used in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, Tourette’s syndrome, autism and depression. It’s intended to help decrease hallucinations, disorganized thinking, mood swings, depressive thoughts and tics. It's not approved to treat symptoms related to dementia, and can increase the risk of death in patients suffering from dementia. There are numerous lawsuits pending involving their anti-psychotic medication Abilify that clearly show the drug can cause impulse issues in adults, such as chaotic gambling, shopping, binge eating and hypersexuality. And with every one of those issues comes an entirely new set of problems for the people taking it. There have been reports of people losing everything by gambling away their homes, cars, and retirement funds due to the effects of Abilify. People are wrecking their home lives because of the side effects of abilify. What is so remarkable of all that is that the science appears to be absolutely solid that abilify is at the heart of the problem. According to the lawsuits that have been filed against Otsuka and Bristol Meyers Squibb, the company was fully aware of how their medication adversely effected a person’s impulse control and they completely failed to warn the public about these dangers. Documents point to the fact that the company had plenty information to show the problems here with the side effects related to abilify. They over-sold the effectiveness of the drug because and kept quiet about the risks because they wanted a piece of the 42 million customer market. And they were wildly successful. In 2014, Abilify was one of the best-selling medications in the United States, bringing in more than $7 billion for Big Pharma. In spite of all the dangers that have been emerging in the public arena with this medication for more than 4 years, juvenile detention centers have been spending hundreds of thousands of dollars each year buying stockpiles of Abilify so they can medicate juvenile delinquents instead of rehabilitating them. And these drugs are only increasing the frequency of the very behaviors that landed these children in trouble in the first place.

Further Thoughts on Abilify From a Psych Grad

03:18
I present some short thoughts on Abilify (Aripiprazole). Key points: - It's dangerous! Not To be used lightly! - Ignore the television ads. - It's still useful for a subset of the population. A new study has been released analyzing the benefits of atypical antipsychotics for "off label" uses. Basically, it's useful for some people, not useful for others. Proceed with caution. http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2011-09/jaaj-aaa092211.php Yet another study has been released regarding atypical antipsychotics, and this study isn't kind. Basically, the researchers think that publication bias is responsible for much of the success of a-typ drugs. Abilify was included in this study. http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2012-03/plos-nad031512.php

What is Akathisia?

01:47
http://missd.co/ ► Did you know that as many as five percent of people taking psychotropic medications suffer from akathisia? Akathisia is a mental health disorder induced by certain medications, namely antipsychotics, buspirone, SSRI’s (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) and other antidepressants. The disorder can cause severe inner restlessness, driving people to violent behavior and/or suicide. Using sophisticated animation and the words of sufferers, this powerful video gives a firsthand look at the devastation caused by akathisia and offers vital information on this dangerous disorder, which affects so many around the world. This short educational video provides answers to these and other questions: What is akathisia? What causes akathisia? What can I do if I experience this life-threatening condition? By spreading the word about akathisia, we at MISSD hope to empower those suffering with the disorder and their loved ones to take action before it’s too late. Please help share this with people you know, and together we can prevent medication-induced suicides and violence. About MISSD (The Medication-Induced Suicide Prevention and Education Foundation in Memory of Stewart Dolin) is a unique non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the memory of Stewart and other victims of akathisia by raising awareness and educating the public about the dangers of akathisia. MISSD aims to ensure that people suffering from akathisia's symptoms are accurately diagnosed so that needless deaths are prevented. A website, the creation of educational materials and support of conferences such as Selling Sickness, will help to raise awareness and knowledge of akathisia and medication-induced suicides. Again, we feel it's important to note that we are not anti-drug, and recognize that prescription drugs can be positive and life-saving for many individuals. We are for truth in disclosure, honesty in reporting and legitimate drug trials. If this could happen to Mr. Dolin, then it could happen to anyone. MISSD will make a difference. Most Popular Drug in U.S. is an Antipsychotic

04:03
Does anyone remember Thorazine? It was an antipsychotic given to mentally ill people, often in institutions, that was so sedating, it gave rise to the term "Thorazine shuffle." Ads for Thorazine in medical journals, before drugs were advertised directly to patients, showed Aunt Hattie in a hospital gown, zoned out but causing no trouble to herself or anyone else. No wonder Thorazine and related drugs Haldol, Mellaril and Stelazine were called chemical straitjackets. But Thorazine and similar drugs became close to obsolete in 1993 when a second generation of antipsychotics which included Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon and Abilify came online. What is Abilify Used For – With Better Options!

04:28
Click on the link below for a free video guide to dietary supplements and alternative medicine! http://utahtexans.com/ In this video I'm going to talk about what abilify is used for, as well as share a few alternative medicine that is similar to this drug. The main reasons people use this drug is to treat mood disorders. This could include depression, aggression, irritability and schizophrenia . Without insurance if you went down to a local pharmacy to pick up 30 tablets at 20 mg's of strength the cost would be over $1,000 dollars, it's expensive. The million dollar question is does it work, and is there better options. According to CenterWatch.com 3 studies show that it is superior to a placebo when it comes to helping schizophrenia patients. The bad news is that some people question the drugs effectiveness over the long term cause clinical studies only lasted for 26 weeks. As with all prescription drugs there is negative side effects plus it creates a bunch of free radicals as it breaks down in the body. 1 Idea that is often overlooked when it comes to improving someone's well being is to eliminate gluten from your diet. If someone is gluten sensitive the body's immune system may attack it's own tissues causing inflammation in the nervous system would could lead into mood swings. Most people don't know this but 95% of serotonin (the feel good chemical) is produced in the gut. Your digestive system has more neurons that your spinal cord. So a poorly functioning digestive system could be leading cause of mental problems like mood swings. To improve your digestive system eating more fiber helps as well as something known as prebiotics. Prebiotics are different than probiotics the stuff in yogurt. Prebiotics are 10 times better and are natural unlike the man made probiotics in yogurt. For herbal medicine there is some evidence that gingseng could help. There was a study I found in the University of Maryland Medical Center with 501 people living in Mexico City. Taking this herb improved well-being and satisfaction. Another herb to look into would be lavender. There are tons of studies that show it helps with mood swings. For instance in the International Clinical Psychopharmacology a study showed that lavender was superior to a placebo in 221 patients suffering from anxiety. Well-Being and quality of life also improved. If alternative medicine, and herbal remedies is something your interested in I highly encourage you to check out a free video guide I created on the topic. It provides a lot of tips on what to look for when shopping for these types of products, as well as shares what you want to avoid. It's definitely worth your time and it's completely free. How Do Antidepressants And Antipsychotic Drugs Change Your Brain? with Robert Whitaker

07:48
Schizophrenics in the United States currently fare worse than patients in the world’s poorest countries. Medical journalist Robert Whitaker argues that modern treatments for the severely mentally ill are just old medicine in new bottles, and that we as a society are deeply deluded about their efficacy. The widespread use of lobotomies in the 1920's and 1930's gave way in the 1950's to electroshock and a wave of new drugs. In what is perhaps Robert Whitaker’s most damning revelation, he examines how drug companies in the 1980's and 1990's skewed their studies to prove that new anti-psychotic drugs were more effective than the old, while keeping patients in the dark about dangerous side effects. Robert Whitaker raises important questions about our obligations to the mad, the meaning of “insanity,” and what we value most about the human mind. Passionate believers in whole food plant based diets, no chemicals, minimal pharmaceutical drugs, no GMO's. Fighting to stop climate change and extinction.
How to Lose Weight While Taking Antidepressants?

08:51
Losing weight is difficult as it is but it is even bigger challenge when you are taking antidepressants. Discover why Dr. Sam Robbins, health expert, recommends Lean Optimizer™, as one of the solutions for weight loss while taking Antidepressants. http://drsam.co/yt/WhileTakingAntidepressants-LO ************************** How to Lose Weight While Taking Antidepressants? ********************** Losing weight is never fun and for most of us, it is not easy especially as we get older. Losing weight is difficult as it is but it is even bigger challenge when you are taking antidepressants. Moreover, the reason is due to your change in hormones. Over the years, I have discovered TWO main reasons for the weight gain from use of antidepressants: The first is the most commonly prescribe antidepressants, SSRIs - such as Prozac, Lexapro, Paxil, Zoloft - they work by increasing serotonin, which helps regulate your appetite. So typically, antidepressant users start eating more because their appetite has increased which is the initial and primary cause of weight gain. Secondly, there is another phenomenon that I have noticed over the years: With people who swear they are not eating more and yet, they still gain weight. After doing lots of different blood work I have noticed a change in metabolic markers: One of them being lowered thyroid production as well as a change adrenal function such as higher cortisol levels (stress hormone) and lower adrenal production. Both are leading to slower metabolism and faster weight gain. As you can see, hormones really do control everything, throw in aging and now things get a bit more challenging. In this video, I am going to give you proven solutions that will help reduce your appetite and maximize your fat loss. So, do not worry – it is not your fault. There is hope! Risperdal And Abilify Are The Only FDA Approved Medications For Autism Spectrum Disorder

Support AutismReach On YouTube - http://www.Patreon.com/AutismReach http://www.AutismReach.org First and foremost, thank you for visiting my YouTube page! My name is Maxwell Lee and I am an Autism Advocate. I have a huge passion for improving the lives of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and have a 30-year-old brother with ASD. I have just graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) and reside in Asheville, NC. I specialize in understanding the complex world of pharmacotherapy, and hope to use my knowledge to benefit the autism community. My Goal: To travel throughout America giving lectures on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the appropriate treatment options available for this disorder to medical professional schools (Medical schools, Pharmacy schools, Physician-Assistant schools, and Nurse-Practitioner schools). At the moment, many autistic individuals are being put on medications that actually make their autistic qualities worse. This is a huge problem that roots from medical professionals getting a lack of education on Autism Spectrum Disorder and the appropriate way to treat it. The prevalence of autism has skyrocketed! We have gone from 1 in 2,500 children being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the year 1985 (When my older brother with autism was born) to 1 in 45 children being diagnosed now in the year 2016. With the increase in prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder, we have to make sure that healthcare professionals are getting adequate education into Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the appropriate treatment options available for these individuals. Help me by donating to my project, and feel free to contact me at anytime! When I reach $10,000/month, I will transform my job as a pharmacist into becoming a full-time medical educator on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Did I ever tell you about the time I gained a BUNCH of weight while taking the antipsychotic medications Zyprexa and Risperdal? It's a real knee slapper. I was only 15 years old too. This video is all about that magical belt- and brain-busting experience. If you find this video educational, entertaining, or simply an enhancement of your feeling of solidarity—please consider sharing it on social media. Likes and subscriptions are super helpful too, if you feel moved to do so. And, as always, thanks for watching. Please read if you have a moment: In the video I poke fun at the fact that I went to a therapeutic residential school for almost two years, and while I do take an issue or two with such places—specifically with their (sometimes heavy) reliance on psych drugs as part of their students’ courses of treatment—it should be said that being able to go to that school was a privilege for the emotionally troubled, truant youth that I was. Especially considering the alternatives. A lot of young people end up in far worse places, such as juvenile detention centers, etc. Those who come from economically disadvantaged families are especially vulnerable. Going down this path can lead them into a cycle of incarcerations and a complete loss of hope before their lives can even begin. It's a real problem, and it deserves as much attention as we can give it. If you'd like to learn more about it, episode #7 of the NPR podcast “Caught” is a good place to start: https://goo.gl/Rwqiyp. Really, all episodes are worth a listen. Disclaimer: The views expressed in these videos are my own. My voice is my own. I do not speak for others. Even when it maybe sorta sounds that way. Sources: https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/fat-cell-numbers-teen-years-linger-lifetime Regarding research studies, and the NIH (National Institutes of Health) in particular: Research studies… are what they are. In this video I quoted results taken from a NIH research study in order to support my argument that gaining a bunch of weight as a teenager really sucks and has potentially lifelong repercussions. In the next video, I may very well discuss the NIH in a way that casts them in a deservedly harsh light. This stuff’s complicated. Risperidone (Risperdal) REVIEW

26:35
I review the anti-anxiety, as well as anti-psychotic medication Risperidone, the generic for Risperdal. Risperidone is used to treat anxiety and for people with more intense problems, bi-polar disorder and even schizophrenia. I was taking Risperidone for anxiety. At the time this video was filmed I was on Risperdal over 10 years, and tell you all about my ups and downs during that time. I may have discontinued use of this medication and all medications at this point. Yet I do not like to say publicly what medications I am or am not taking. I was, however, on Risperidone for about 10 years, and these are my results. I do suggest to first and foremost see a psychiatrist or prescribing doctor and a psychologist or counsellor to diagnose you before starting any medications. In my opinion, and I am not a doctor or qualified medical professional in any way, I suggest to readjust your diet, consider if you are not getting enough nutrients at important times throughout the day (especially breakfast, if you are substituting morning meals for caffeine, which can deprive your brain of nutrients), as well as take a look at the privacy and well being of your current living situation, also your employment situation insofar as relationships at work or if it is a job that makes you happy. Also, I suggest that before starting medication to reevaluate your closest relationships in your life and if there is an imbalance that is causing you to have these problems or any possible outside influences that can be changed without the need for medication. Please consult a prescribing doctor, psychiatrist and psychologist to talk about this before deciding what treatment is right for you. Review of Zoloft (generic for Sertraline): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU1GiqrGnF0 Review of Citalopram (generic for Celexa): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdEVgA7cd2c I cannot offer much advice, because I am not a doctor. However, if you have questions, please just watch the whole video and if you are interested my videos on Citalopram (Celexa) and Zoloft (Sertraline) at the above links. I offer insight to anyone taking this medicine or considering taking this medicine for anxiety, depression or other problems. I wish you the best and wish I had the time to help out everyone. All I can suggest is to actually hear all I have already said in the videos, which should answer your questions, as well as ask your psychiatrist. Here and there I try to help by responding to comments, but I have covered most of everything in the videos. Thanks for watching. Here is information copied directly from WIkipedia on Risperdal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risperidone): Risperidone, sold under the trade name Risperdal among others, is an antipsychotic medication.[1] It is mainly used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and irritability in people with autism. It is taken either by mouth or by injection into a muscle.[1] The injectable version is long acting and lasts for about two weeks.[2] Common side effects include movement problems, sleepiness, trouble seeing, constipation, and increased weight.[1][3] Serious side effects may include the potentially permanent movement disorder tardive dyskinesia, as well as neuroleptic malignant syndrome, an increased risk of suicide, and high blood sugar levels.[1][2] In older people with psychosis as a result of dementia it may increase the risk of dying. It is unclear if it is safe for use in pregnancy. Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic. Its mechanism of action is not entirely clear but believed to be related to its ability as a dopamine antagonist.[1] Information, websites and links about me Watch now on Amazon instant video or buy my first feature film Crazy Animal on DVD at this link! I get emails about this topic almost daily if you can believe it. And yes there are lots of causes. However, most guys never even think about the prescription drugs they’re taking, which can cause erectile problems and for sure, make this situation much worse. And today I’m going to reveal the #1 - most prescribed and popular drug, that is one of the biggest causes of impotence. Okay, so what drug is the biggest problem?... It’s blood pressure drugs.3 And if you're curious, the #2 worse drugs are antidepressants and other psychiatric medications… which I’ll get into in a future video. There are over 35 different hypertension drugs, which all cause some form erectile or libido problems.6 In fact, it’s estimated that over 70% of men who take blood pressure medications, decide to get off of them because of these negative side-effects.1,2 Also, these drugs cause “sexual” problems in women as well. Unfortunately, you can’t just get off your blood pressure medication and say “oh, who cares” because high blood pressure is known to cause heart disease, a heart attack or stroke. The sad part is that having high blood pressure ALSO causes erectile problems and lowered libido because of poor blood flow and stress on your veins, arteries and blood vessels. And the worse part is that 75% of the people who have high blood pressure, don’t even know it!4 So… what are you supposed to do? You have to lower your blood pressure?... And you can’t take prescription drugs?... Natural Solutions As I’ve stated in all of my videos, you do NOT need to take drugs to help fix your health challenges. Nature already has the solutions. Under today’s video, I’ve given you links to proven, all-natural solutions for lowering your blood pressure. In fact, it’s the SAME formula that my dad and I use personally. So whether you’re a man or women and you want to improve your sex drive, libido and help fix any erectile problems, make sure lower your high blood pressure, stay away from hypertension drugs and do it naturally! ======================================== Thank you for watching. Bipolar Medication Side Effects: Weight Gain

03:40
For many of us, one of the most troubling bipolar medication side-effects is weight gain. Unfortunately, weight gain from bipolar medications is common and frustrating to those of us who use them to maintain our mental health. I have bipolar 2 and after I started taking medications, I immediately noticed a change in my body. It was not just a few pounds, but up to 30 pounds in one month. Imagine how that made me feel. It got to the point where I told my psychiatrist that if I continued gaining weight, I was going to quit taking my bipolar 2 medications. I know you might think that’s drastic but, in fact, many people stop taking their bipolar medications due to weight gain and other side-effects. It may not be the right thing to do, however, they just can’t take the weight gain or other side-effects anymore. Self-awareness and honesty is essential when you live with bipolar disorder; that includes being honest with your doctor. My psychiatrist worked on finding a better routine of bipolar medications and I was able to lose some of that weight and get closer to my normal size. It is not that I refuse to deal with any bipolar medication side effects, but gaining that amount of weight made me feel out of control, insecure and depressed. I still have to make medication adjustments which can cause a little weight gain, but I always get back in shape eventually. I’ll be talking more about that in an upcoming video. What is your experience with the side effects of bipolar medication? Have you experienced weight gain? Have you been able to do something about the weight gain? Please share your thoughts and experiences or do a response video and send it in to info@healthyplace.com. See you next week! Hannah -- Subscribe to our channel. When will you feel like yourself again after coming off psych drugs?

07:05
It’s taken a long time for me to feel like myself, even a little bit, after discontinuing a psych drug cocktail. It’s happening slowly, but I’m getting there. This is quick little unscripted video that will hopefully give you a little inspiration as you make your way through the process of discontinuing psychiatric drugs. If you can keep going, no matter how far away from yourself you may feel, you’ll get closer and closer in time to who you were—and are—meant to be. Thanks for watching! Note: I still have limited mental stamina and am a bit disorganized in my thinking (not in a schizophrenic kind of way, but in a brain-that’s-still-recovering kind of way) so I apologize for the video being a little rambly and not as on-point as it could be. I’ll get better. Thanks again for watching. Hang in there. Instagram: https://goo.gl/mbtjFS

Antidepressants That Cause Weight Loss

05:30
http://bit.ly/yourfreehealthreport The Real Story about Antidepressants that Cause Weight Loss I speaking with a friend of mine I have come to find out about hwo many poeple are looking for the added benefit of using antidepressants that cause weight loss. In my research I have found that using antidepressants and expecting to lose weight has a mixed bag of results. First off using an antidepressant for weight loss is not a healthy option, the side effect seem to be the major cause of weight loss and if you like loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting well then that would be a major issue. Listen we all want to feel good, physically , mentally and emotionally and yes at times ant time the use of an antidepressant might have to be but it should only be a temporary solution and not a life long sentence. It is the same with weight loss. Yes your weight, and your health both emotionally and physically might fluctuate at times but we should always do our best to give our body and mind the proper nutrition , exercise and other natural input to create an environment where the body will thrive. In the process of coaching people on health I do not recommend people using prescription drugs but instead a more natural process to obtain ultimate health . Antidepressant and weight loss are not the best prescription for a healthy life and if that is what you are looking for it might just take a focused approached to create a healthier lifestyle which would in turn give you both, and better emotional feeling about life . Know that food and exercise, believe it or not , have a dramatic effect on both your physical , mental and emotional health . So in conclusion my opinion based on my nutrition and health studies and my research on antidepressants that cause weight loss is don't rely on them because the results will vary based upon your body type and chemistry but instead rely more so on creating a healthy life style and in turn you will lose the weight and feel great emotionally . DEPRESSION SCREENING TEST: http://healingfromdepression.com/depression-screening-test.htm My Story My name is Noah and on May 18 2011, I had a rare reaction to a vaccine called VIVITROL and consequently spiraled into a major, agitated, suicidal depression with depersonalization. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who along with many siblings and friends had to watch me 24/7 as I was so suicidal. I was eventually hospitalized. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last year and 10 months, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor. I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time!

My Experiences With Medication for my Bipolar Disorder

09:27
I share my experiences throughout my process of finding the right medication for me. I'll talk about my initial personal stigma against medication, and how the view has changed over time. From the intense side effects of Abilify, rash scares from Lamictal, to weight gain from Depakote. I want to remind everyone that their experiences with these same medications could be completely different. I hope my story inspires people to have more open conversations with their psychiatrists on what actually works. I have heard countless times of people with mental heath issues never speaking up that their treatment isn't work. My medication for bipolar disorder is just part of my daily routine now. I don't really think much of it anymore. I don't like taking meds, but hey, I'm not that crazy about shoving contacts in my eyes every morning either. But I am willing to do these daily chores because they allow me to live a more productive and happy life. Please visit www.blissify.org for more video and written content about mental health. Our philosophy is "Healthy Body, Healthy Mind." The body works as one synchronized unit. We hope to inspire people to make healthy choices to benefit both their body and mind.
