Why Diet Soda Makes You Fat -- With Thomas DeLauer

07:46
How normal guys can get rid of belly fat fast: http://go2.sixpackshortcuts.com/SH16a -- Subscribe to Tom's channel! https://www.youtube.com/user/TheTdelauer -- What's up guys Thomas here today to tell you the truth about how these so called "diet" sodas are really effecting your weight loss efforts... And the truth is, they're moving you backwards instead of forwards when it comes to improving the shape of your body. Now these drinks are calorie free, which technically should help people lose weight and prevent sugar-related diseases… 1:10 - However, the evidence for these beverages having any use is completely nonexistent. Which brings me to my first terrible aftermath from drinking diet sodas, side effect #4: Metabolic syndrome. 1:29 - There is a lot of evidence supporting the fact that regularly drinking diet sodas can actually cause what researchers call “Metabolic syndrome”... Which is a series of risk factors that can lead to diabetes, stroke and in extreme cases, heart attacks. 1:50 - Now this condition is defined as having or experiencing at least 3 of the following symptoms - excessive belly fat or clinical obesity, high blood pressure, high fasting glucose (those with sugar-packed diets), high triglycerides and low amounts of your body’s good cholesterol. Drinking “calorie free” beverages instead of sugary ones does not appear to be helpful against the metabolic syndrome. 2:03 - In fact, looking at the research, sugar is really not the only culprit that is affecting your health like the mainstream media is making it appear… And just because diet sodas are “sugar free”, it doesn’t mean that they are healthy… 2:21 - In a study published in the journal Circulation in 2008, which followed 9,514 people for 9 years, drinking artificially sweetened beverages was associated with a 34% greater risk of developing the metabolic syndrome. 2:50 - Now onto side effect #3: There is an association between diet soda and depression. 3:30 - Nutrition and dietary experts are relating these findings to once again, the myriad of chemicals and synthetic ingredients found within diet drinks. 4:00 - Side effect #2: Drinking diet soda increases your risk for diabetes. 4:50 - Now, as everyone knows, the past decade of health surveys have revealed massive increases in populations develops diabetes… This disease is highly associated with obesity and sugar consumption, so most believe that replacing sugary beverages with calorie-free drinks would help… 5:17 - But according to the reports - it’s quite the opposite. A study of 6,814 individuals aged 45-85 years, daily consumption of diet soda was associated with a 67% increased risk of type II diabetes. In another French study, women were studied for 14 years and it was found that women who consumed the most diet drinks had a 121% greater risk of developing type II diabetes. 5:46 - I hate to be the barer of bad news - especially because the main reason people switch to diet drinks is to cut back on calories in order to lose weight… However, the numbers don’t lie people. 6:15 - And now, the final side effect. Drinking diet soda can actually make you fat. 6:38 - There are even many short-term trials that show that artificial sweeteners can increase appetite and food intake in the short-term compared to sugar. 6:50 - So the take away here guys is to not to choose between diet and regular soda - it’s to forego both. Instead, try drinking unsweetened beverages like coffee, tea, mineral water or 100 percent fruit juice… Or better yet, stick to plain, old water! Thank you guys for watching! -- Fastest way to get a ripped body: http://go2.sixpackshortcuts.com/SH16a And by the way guys... I didn't used to have the muscular body that I do now, and I struggled to get ripped six pack abs for years. In fact, I actually had belly fat that used to make me feel so shy that I wouldn't even take my shirt off in public. I would spend hours in the gym and see little to no results. I was extremely discouraged until one day I realized that I was working out wrong. It was then that I discovered the 'trick' to lose my stubborn belly fat and get toned six pack abs...fast. Don't waste another day working out until you see this: http://go2.sixpackshortcuts.com/SH16a Catch you guys later, -Thomas And don't forget to share this video with your friends on Facebook: https://youtu.be/Kq8iWuXN2dg

5 Reasons Why Diet Soda Is Bad For You !

03:36
5 Reasons Why Diet Soda Is Bad For You ! Is Diet Soda Good For You ? When taken at face value, diet soda seems like a health-conscious choice. It saves you the 140-plus calories you’d find in a sugary soft drink while still satisfying your urge for something sweet with artificial sweeteners like aspartame, saccharin, and sucralose. But there’s more to this chemical cocktail than meets the eye. Please subscribe, click the bell and watch this video until the end to know the complete information. 1. It confuses your body. Artificial sweeteners have more intense flavor than real sugar, so over time products like diet soda dull our senses to naturally sweet foods like fruit, says Dr. Brooke Alpert, author of The Sugar Detox. Even more troubling, these sugar stand-ins have been shown to have the same effect on your body as sugar. “Artificial sweeteners trigger insulin, which sends your body into fat storage mode and leads to weight gain,” Alpert says. 2. It could lead to weight gain, not weight loss. Diet soda is calorie-free, but it won’t necessarily help you lose weight. Researchers from the University of Texas found that over the course of about a decade, diet soda drinkers had a 70 percent greater increase in waist circumference compared with non-drinkers. And get this: participants who slurped down two or more sodas a day experienced a 500 percent greater increase. The way artificial sweeteners confuse the body may play a part, but another reason might be psychological, says Minnesota-based dietitian Cassie Bjork. When you know you’re not consuming any liquid calories, it might be easier to justify that double cheeseburger or extra slice of pizza. 3. It’s associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes. Drinking one diet soda a day was associated with a 36 percent increased risk of metabolic syndrome and diabetes in a University of Minnesota study. Metabolic syndrome describes a cluster of conditions (including high blood pressure, elevated glucose levels, raised cholesterol, and large waist circumference) that put people at high risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, Bjork explains. 4. It has no nutritional value. When you drink diet soda, you’re not taking in any calories—but you’re also not swallowing anything that does your body any good, either. The best no-calorie beverage? Plain old water. “Water is essential for many of our bodily processes, so replacing it with diet soda is a negative thing,” she says. If it’s the fizziness you crave, try sparkling water. 5. It may hurt your heart. Just one diet soft drink a day could boost your risk of having a vascular event such as stroke, heart attack or vascular death, according to researchers from the University of Miami and Columbia University. Their study found that diet soda devotees were 43 percent more likely to have experienced a vascular event than those who drank none. Regular soda drinkers did not appear to have an increased risk of vascular events. Researchers say more studies need to be conducted before definitive conclusions can be made about diet soda’s effects on health. now, after watching this video, will you still drink diet soda? comment below and don't forget to like, subscribe and share with your friends and family.

Did You Realize that Most People Drink 50 Gallons of Poison Each Year?

05:40
Take the Body Type Quiz: http://bit.ly/BodyTypeQuiz Dr. Berg discusses about an astonishing fact about an average american drinking 50 gallons of poison every year. Table sugar converts to glucose and fructose. Glucose can be absorbed by cells in the body (converts to insulin), but fructose cannot be absorbed and ends up in the liver and is treated as a poison in the body. Higher quantity of fructose causes insulin resistance (diabetes). High blood pressure and inflammation are also other symptoms of consuming high quantity of sugar. Avoid juice and soda as they have high quantity of sugars and are the 3 harmful foods. The body cannot process fructose and it is a toxic component for the body. An average person consumes over 50 gallons of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) each year. Your body processes fructose very differently and it ends up in the liver as a poison. This causes a fatty liver, insulin resistance (diabetes), high blood pressure and a whole series of body problems. Strengthen Arteries, Clean Them, Stop LDL, Cholesterol Health ~~~Nancy

Why LDL goes higher when we get older? Why our bodies put out more cholesterol than they need. Statin drugs are more dangerous than I knew. White sugar, white flour and white rice are not our friends. With busy schedules we don't always have the ability to eat properly. LDL is pumped out in order to perform a patch job within the artery walls. How I eat an orange - how I eat an apple. To thicken the artery walls so that they don't pop. 7 Foods That Make You Age Faster Than You Can Imagine

02:52
You are what you eat, so in theory if you’re old and haggard before your time, you are the unhealthy foods you have taken in. If you thought sun exposure, stress and smoking were the only things to worry about when it comes to speeding up the ageing process - think again. Recent studies have also shown that there are number of foods that also contain the nasties that have the potential to boost the rate at which we wrinkle. 1.Fast Food. Fast-food from all your favorite chain restaurants is perhaps the most toxic thing the FDA allows you to eat. Fast-food with trans fat will make your skin look stiff, inflexible and very rocky. Trans-fats clog the arteries and the smaller blood vessels making your heart work overtime just to get you through the day. 2.Processed Foods. Not only do some processed foods contain trans-fat, but they also have heavy carbohydrates which is known to damage collagen and fibers in your sensitive skin. Processed foods also contain artificial ingredients, preservatives, colorants, flavor and texturants. Bear in mind that large companies get away with including extra ingredients inside processed foods without listing them. 3.Sodas Eating sugar can speed aging and sugar can be found in candy, baked goods, and other foods, for sure, but they are also hidden in common beverages, such as soda and juices. Opt for low sugar juice or swap for water or tea, instead of downing a can of soda when that afternoon slump hits. 4.Red Meat While it might be nice to enjoy a big steak on occasion, eating large quantities of red meat on a regular basis can seriously affect your skin and body's aging process, as it is quite inflammatory. Thus, swap for leaner, whiter cuts, such as chicken breast and turkey breast during the week, and save red meat for special occasions or consume in lower ounces, such as 3 oz or 4 oz. 5.Dessert. Sugar causes inflammation in your body, which contributes to aging effects. There is no health benefit to sugar—all of it is empty calories. It does give you energy but it can ruin your metabolism, cause insulin resistance, increase cholesterol and fat in the liver and cause high triglycerides. In the future, it can lead to all sorts of disease like heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Just think of dessert like a cigarette and you get the idea. 6.ALCOHOL The ultimate dehydrator - alcohol also robs our bodies of B vitamins and vitamins A and C, which are vital for skin and overall health. Excessive alcohol depletes minerals including magnesium and zinc, as well as essential fatty acids, all of which are needed to slow down the onset of premature ageing. 7.Energy Drinks Not only do they have massive levels of caffeine but they throw in a host of unhealthy and mysterious artificial products. The worst of it is that these energy drinks can destroy the enamel in your teeth 8-times more than soda pop.

F.A.S.T. TOP 5 WORST FOODS

03:38
Sign up today for Conor McGregor's Program https://mcgregorfast.com/ Here are our top 5 foods to avoid 5. MARGARINE Margarine is made from liquid vegetable oil. To make the oil more solid at room temperature, hydrogen is added. This hydrogenation process causes the naturally occurring cis form of fat to change into the trans form of fat. Trans fats are associated with a higher risk of coronary artery disease by increasing your bad or LDL cholesterol and decreasing your amount of HDL or good cholesterol. Instead use real dairy butter is a better choice. Just don't overdo it because butter is a very calorie dense food. Use your imagination with other alternatives such as coconut butter, hummus or mashed avocado which can add a nice little exotic flavouring too. 4. POTATO CHIPS The crispy texture, fat and saltiness of potato chips makes them "hyper palatable". One handful is never enough - you just gotta keep going. But that's where the problem is, it's too easy to add a lot of empty calories to your diet by snacking on potato chips. If you have a craving for something crunchy then satisfy it with a more nutrient rich choice such as roast almonds, bagel chips or mini rice cakes. 3. MAYONAISE Vegetable oil, sugar, salt and emulsifying agents. There is nothing that we need here for optimum performance. Even the home made version has its own risks. The raw egg yolks that are used can be a source of salmonella food poisoning. Hold on the mayo! 2. SODA POP Fizzy soft drinks can carry an incredible amount of empty calories in the form of sugar. One can of soda pop can have 35 - 50 grams of sugars dissolved in it. That's the equivalent of about 8 - 12 teaspoons of table sugar per can. Not only is all that sugar bad for your teeth, the carbonation that makes soda pop fizzy is quite acidic and can further erode your tooth enamel. 1. PROCESSED DELI MEATS This stuff is nasty. Not only are processed deli meat products high in fat and salt. Worse yet, they contain sodium nitrite. This food additive changes the natural grey colour of junk meats to a nice, delicious pink or red colour. Not a bad thing. It also increase the shelf life of the product - also not a bad thing, but when the sodium nitrite hits the stomach acid or is heated during cooking, it is converted into carcinogenic nitrosamines. These are strongly associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. Now that's a pain in the ass nobody wants. So ditch those deli meats for good.

This Common Drink Destroys Your Bones and is Full of Cancer-Causing Chemicals!

This Common Drink Destroys Your Bones and is Full of Cancer-Causing Chemicals! Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11 Even though people are all aware of the detrimental effects of soda drinks, they still consume this harmful, sugar-loaded drink in excess. Even though there is a slight fall in the sales, over $75 billion worth of soda is still bought annually, causing an increased risk of heart diseases, tooth decay, obesity, diabetes, and much more. Here are some of the major reasons why you should no longer drink soda: 1. Soda Contains Cancer-Causing Additives. Many sodas contain artificial caramel colorings in order to get the brown color. However, this popular additive includes two contaminants: 2-methylimidazole and 4-methylimidazole, both of which have been found to lead to cancer in animals. The California’s strict Proposition 65 list of cancer- causing chemicals states that 16 micrograms daily of 4-methylimidazole is sufficient to pose a cancer threat. What’s more, the most popular brown sodas contain even 200 micrograms of it per 20 oz bottle. 2. Soda leads to Fat Gain. A Danish study has shown that the consumption of non-diet soda causes a significant rise in the accumulation of fat around the liver and the skeletal muscles, which contributes to diabetes and insulin resistance. Researchers have discovered that the daily consumption of regular soda for six months leads to increased skeletal, liver, triglyceride blood fat and other organ fat, and an 11% increase in cholesterol. 3. Soda Causes Tooth Decay. There is a special term for the tooth decay in children and adults as a result of the excessive consumption of soda, “Mountain Dew Mouth.”Soda contains citric acid which erodes the enamel and even the dentin, the core of the tooth, over time. 4. Soda can cause Osteoporosis. All kinds of sodas have phosphates or phosphoric acid which provide the tangy flavor and extend the shelf life. The excess intake of phosphoric acid leads to osteoporosis, muscle loss, heart and kidney problems, and speeds up the aging process. In relation to calcium intake, it can result in bone loss and the caffeine in these drinks inhibits the absorption of calcium. The consumption of soda greatly increases the risk of osteoporosis and reduces the bone density. 5. Soda leads to various diseases. The consumption of soda causes various different diseases, including: Type 2 Diabetes: The consumption of one can of soda daily has been related to the elevated risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Heart Disease: Numerous studies have confirmed that there is a link between the consumption of sugar and the increased risk of heart diseases. Only one sugary beverage daily leads to a 20% increased risk of a heart attack or even a death from a heart attack. Insulin Resistance: The consumption of excessive amounts of sugar may lead to an insulin resistance in cells. In this case, the pancreas s forced to produce even more insulin to eliminate the glucose from the bloodstream, leading to high insulin levels and insulin resistance. Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease: Too much fructose consumed via these sugary drinks can overload the liver, and it can be converted into fat, which remains in the liver and causes non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Dementia: Research has found a relation between the increased blood sugar levels and the elevated dementia risk. Excess amounts of sugary drinks can greatly impair memory and the decision-making capabilities, causing more complications, and conditions like Alzheimer’s disease. ======================================== soda, soda water, soft drinks, soda pop, carbonated drinks, fizzy drinks, cream soda, diet soda, healthy soda, carbonated soft drinks, diet grape soda, sugar in soda, pop drink, drinking soda, aerated drinks, soda machine, healthy soft drinks, cold drinks, soft drinks list, soda syrup, effects of soda, buy soda in bulk, low sugar soft drinks, soft drink brands, cool drinks, list of soft drinks, sugar in soft drinks, soft drinks on sale, diet pop, coke soda https://youtu.be/GVOESmUVqSI Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11

FACT ABOUT COOL DRINKS

02:25
Soft drinks are carbonated beverages. They are commonly also known as soda, soda pop, pop or tonic. While occasional consumption of these types of beverages may not cause any negative effects, drinking them on a regular basis is not healthy. Cutting back on the number of soft drinks you consume -- or eliminating them from your diet altogether -- is the best way to prevent associated health problems. Obesity Non-diet soft drinks contain high amounts of sugar which adds calories to the daily diet. Regular consumption of soft drinks has been linked to obesity in both adults and children. Soft drinks as well as energy or sports drinks, sweetened teas, fruit juices and other high-calorie beverages, can lead to increased body mass index as well. Obesity and a high body mass index are risk factors for many chronic health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and some forms of cancer. While still not a healthy alternative, substituting diet soda for regular soda will at least reduce caloric intake and can help to shed unwanted pounds. However, a better solution is to replace the soda, with calorie-free water and three servings of low-fat or fat-free milk per day. Diabetes According to an article published in 2005 by "American Academy of Family Physicians," consuming soft drinks on a regular basis may also contribute to a higher risk of developing diabetes. The sweeteners and caramel coloring added to soft drinks, may decrease insulin sensitivity. When the body becomes less sensitive to insulin, blood glucose levels can rise and diabetes can occur. Unlike water or low-fat milk, soda does not leave the body feeling full. This means that drinking soda adds calories to the daily diet, but does not curb hunger, both of which can lead to ingesting too many calories. This, in turn, raises the risk of diabetes. Sponsored Links Heart Disease Since drinking soda adds sugar and calories to the diet, it may also raise the risk of developing metabolic syndrome, which raises the risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metabolic syndrome is diagnosed when waist size is greater than or equal to 35 inches for women or 40 inches for men, when fasting blood glucose level is100 mg/dL or higher, when triglyceride levels are 150 mg/dL or higher and when blood pressure is greater than or equal to 135/85 mmHg. Having levels of beneficial cholesterol, called high density lipoproteins or HDL, that are below 40mg/dL for men or 50 mg/dL for women, is another diagnosing factor. It is also important to note that diet soft drinks also appear to contribute to this problem. This is because those who drink soda of any kind tend to eat an unhealthy diet that is high in fat and calories. Tooth Decay Ingesting sugar can contribute to tooth decay because acid is produced when bacteria enters the mouth and mixes with sugar. When the acid attacks the teeth for 20 minutes or more and causes plaque buildup on the teeth and gums, it leads to tooth decay. While it is not necessary to cut out consumption of naturally occurring sugars from healthy foods such as dairy products, fruits and vegetables, it is important to limit intake of processed sugary foods, such as soda, that do not provide any nutritional value. Solution Given the calorie and sugar content of soda, it is best to cut it out of the diet completely. A can or two of diet soda a day may not be harmful to health. Other than that, go for plain water, sparkling water or water with cranberry or lemon added to it for a healthier choice. Sponsored Links

This amount of sugar, especially in liquid form, skyrockets the blood sugar and causes an insulin reaction in the body. Over time, this can lead to diabetes or insulin resistance, not to mention weight gain and other health problems. Soft drink companies are the largest user of sugar in the country. Phosphoric Acid -Soda contains phosphoric acid, which interferes with the body’s ability to absorb calcium and can lead to osteoporosis, cavities and bone softening. Phosphoric Acid also interacts with stomach acid, slowing digestion and blocking nutrient absorption. Artificial Sweeteners– In diet sodas, aspartame is used as a substitute for sugar, and can actually be more harmful. It has been linked to almost a hundred different health problems including seizures, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, diabetes, and emotional disorders. It converts to methanol at warm temperatures and methanol breaks down to formaldehyde and formic acid. Diet sodas also increase the risk of metabolic syndrome, which causes belly fat, high blood sugar and raised cholesterol. Caffeine– Most sodas contain caffeine, which has been linked to certain cancers, breast lumps, irregular heart beat, high blood pressure, and other problems. The Water– The water used in soda is just simple tap water and can contain chemicals like chlorine, fluoride and traces of heavy metals. Obesity– Harvard researchers have recently positively linked soft drinks to obesity. The study found that 12 year olds who drank soda were more likely to be obese than those who didn’t, and for each serving of soda consumed daily, the risk of obesity increased 1.6 times. Extra Fructose– Sodas contain High Fructose Corn Syrup, which obviously comes from corn. Most of this corn has been genetically modified, and there are no long term studies showing the safety of genetically modified crops, as genetic modification of crops has only been around since the 1990s. Also, the process of making High Fructose Corn Syrup involves traces of mercury, which causes a variety of long term health problems. Lack of Nutrients– There is absolutely no nutritional value in soda whatsoever. Not only are there many harmful effects of soda, but there are not even any positive benefits to outweigh them. Soda is an unnatural substance that harms the body. Dehydration– Because of the high sugar, sodium and caffeine content in soda, it dehydrates the body and over a long period of time can cause chronic dehydration. Bad for the teeth– Drinking soda regularly causes plaque to build up on the teeth and can lead to cavities and gum disease. How to Eat Cleaner - Day 15 of 31 - Soda - It's Bad For You Don't Drink It! Period!

07:50
http://facebook.com/coachlana How to Eat Cleaner - Day 15 of 31 - Soda - It's Bad For You Don't Drink It! Period! Hello everyone. I'm so excited that you decided to join me in our 31 days to cleaner or healthier eating. Each one of these videos will have 1 simple concept for you to chew on. It's your choice what you do with it. Try it for a day, a week, a month or implement for your entire life. My hope is it helps you open your mind to learning more about fueling your body more healthily. Part of cleaning up what we eat is getting educated and alot of these videos focus on awareness. Today we talk about soda and yes, this is another topic that could be pages and pages. Here is just a brief overview, please research for yourself if you want to dig deeper. In addition, consuming large amounts of rapidly digested sugar and high fructose corn syrup causes a spike in blood sugar and insulin, which can lead to inflammation and insulin resistance, both of which may increase your risk of stroke, heart disease, diabetes, obesity and cancer. The large doses of fructose from both sucrose (table sugar) and high fructose corn syrup may be particularly detrimental to your health as they can cause the accumulation of metabolically toxic belly fat, cholesterol abnormalities -- including high triglycerides and reduced levels of HDL (good cholesterol) -- and nonalcoholic associated fatty liver disease. Soda is also associated with symptoms of gastro-esophageal reflux disease, when the contents of the stomach leak back up and cause a burning sensation in the esophagus. While drinking soda is not known to cause ulcers, it can cause symptoms to flare up. The American Heart Association recommends consuming no more than 450 calories from sugar sweetened beverages per week (the amount in three cans of cola). If you are overweight or obese, or at risk for heart disease or diabetes, you should limit your intake of sugar sweetened beverages as much as possible, including soda, energy drinks, sports drinks, juice drinks and sweetened water and/or tea. Drinking non-diet soda dramatically increases fat buildup around your liver and your skeletal muscles, both of which can contribute to insulin resistance and diabetes. People who drink diet soda have a 70 percent increase in waist circumference. It's the aspartame, which raised blood glucose levels, that causes the weight gain; when your liver encounters too much glucose, the excess is converted to body fat. Avoid brown sodas. The reason: Two contaminants in the coloring, 2-methylimidazole and 4-methylimidazole, have been found to cause cancer in animals, the coloring is purely cosmetic. Just 16 micrograms per person per day of 4-methylimidazole is enough to pose a cancer threat, and most popular brown colas, both diet and regular, contain 200 micrograms per 20-ounce bottle. Diet or regular, all colas contain phosphates, or phosphoric acid, a weak acid that gives colas their tangy flavor and improves their shelf life. Although it exists in many whole foods, such as meat, dairy, and nuts; too much phosphoric acid can lead to heart and kidney problems, muscle loss, and osteoporosis, and one study suggests it could trigger accelerated aging. A disturbing trend considering that soda manufacturers have been increasing the levels of phosphoric acid in their products over the past few decades. The artificial sweeteners used in diet sodas don't break down in our bodies and wastewater-treatment plants don't catch them before they enter the waterways. A recent test of 19 municipal water supplies in the U.S. revealed the presence of sucralose in every one. It's not clear yet what these low levels are doing to people, but past research has found that sucralose in rivers and lakes interferes with some organisms' feeding habits. Kids who drink too much Mountain Dew wind up with, what dentists call, "Mountain Dew Mouth," full of cavities caused by the drink's excessive sugar levels. The next medical condition we may see will be "Mountain Dew Mind". Brominated vegetable oil, or BVO, is added to prevent the flavoring from separating from citrus soda drinks and is an industrial chemical used as a flame retardant in plastics. The chemical has been known to cause memory loss and nerve disorders when consumed in large quantities. Researchers also suspect that the chemical builds up in body fat, possibly causing behavioral problems, infertility, and lesions on heart muscles over time. Nearly all aluminum soda cans are lined with an epoxy resin called bisphenol A (BPA), used to keep the acids in soda from reacting with the metal. BPA is known to interfere with hormones, and has been linked to everything from infertility to obesity and diabetes and some forms of reproductive cancers. Diet soda facts and myths

Diet soda facts and myths Visit www.improvemant.com for daily videos on men’s style, women and relationships, sex and attraction, health, domestic skills and motivational topics. You can also download your free 70 page men’s style eBook with close to 400 images and style tips and advice in the side panel on the home page at www.improvemant.com. Watch my previous video on diet soda alternatives - http://youtu.be/NxYgJwNiXjM The first point to make is that whilst there have been tests and studies conducted on humans, the majority of research conducted on the negatives of diet sodas were performed on animals such as mice and rats. So you have probably all heard of the chemical aspartame which is the most common artificial sweetener found in diet sodas. The reports that were debunking the negatives of diet soda were saying that aspartame is harmful, but only if consumed in very large quantities. It was suggested that say 1, 2 or more cans of diet soda per day was not enough to cause the many problems that it is associated with. Some experts say that there has not been significant enough research over a long enough period to conclude that the many harmful reports are true or not. Regarding the link between diet soda and weight gain, some people said that overweight people who are drinking diet soda could be skewing the figures and statistics. Ok now let’s take a look at the many reported harmful side effects of consuming diet soda. TOOTH DECAY Now this element of drinking diet soda just blew my mind as I had no idea whatsoever, I thought it was the sugar in fizzy drinks that caused tooth decay but a case study published in the journal of General Dentistry compared the mouths of a cocaine-user, a methamphetamine-user, and a habitual diet-soda drinker, and found the same level of tooth decay in all 3 mouths. Even worse than sugar is the acids in both regular and diet soda which weakens and destroys tooth enamel. INCREASES EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL It has been researched and proven that those who combined alcohol and diet soda had a higher concentration of alcohol on their breath and got drunk faster than those that combined sugary drinks with alcohol. This is believed to be because artificial sweeteners are absorbed more quickly in the bloodstream than sugar. WEIGHT GAIN Drinking any liquid with a meal is a common practice and this includes diet sodas. One theory that was proven when testing mice and rats was that the artificial sweeteners in these diet drinks were tricking the animals brains into thinking they were not full despite having just eaten a meal. The artificial sweeteners signalled to the rats' brains that they were receiving calories as a result of tasting the sweetness of the diet soda. So when the body did not actually receive these calories, the animals craved more food. Based off these findings it is possible that humans consuming diet drinks regularly with their meals could be promoted to overeat or eat again soon after consuming a meal. I also read in the book called sugar detox written by Brooke Alpert that artificial sweeteners trigger insulin, which puts the body into fat storage mode and can lead to weight gain. So if that theory was accurate then essentially artificial sugar has the same damaging effects of real sugar for weight gain. THE CONTAINER ITSELF There is a particular chemical found in soda cans and containers called Bisphenol A which has been linked to issues including obesity, heart diseases and reproductive problems. METABOLIC SYDROME These 2 words could be seen as the biggest problem in the world today. Metabolic syndrome is an umbrella term for the collection of the most crippling diseases including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, large waist circumference, heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Reports claimed that drinking one diet soda can per day increased the chances of metabolic syndrome by close to 40%. DULLS SENSES The flavour of artificial sweeteners is actually more powerful than real sugar which can make other sweet foods like fruit taste duller than if we were not consuming artificial sweeteners. ZERO NUTRITIONAL BENEFIT Whilst it is true you are not consuming any calories, unlike plain water, when you consume diet soda you are also not consuming any beneficial nutrients eithers. WEAKER BONES I was repeatedly reading that both soda and diet soda has been proven to effect the calcium levels and strength of bones.

4 Popular Diet Tips - YOU SHOULD NEVER FOLLOW!!

08:04
Get a step by step diet plan that will get you ripped year round here… http://athleanx.com/x/diet-plan-for-ripped-muscle Everywhere you turn, people give out diet tips and advice for how to lose fat or build muscle fast. The problem is, most of that advice is terrible and will not help you to get to your goal any faster. As a matter of fact, many popular diet tips will do exactly the opposite of what they are supposed to be helping you to do. In this video, I cover four of the most popular diet and meal plan tips that need to be buried right here and now. Right off the bat, some will have you believe that eating fat makes you fat. That can’t be further from the truth. Eating fat, COULD make you fat if you eat in excess of your daily caloric maintenance levels just as eating too many carbs and protein can as well. The simple act of eating a fat molecule will not cause it to be stored as body fat in your body. In fact, nutritional fats are a necessary part of a healthy diet plan, with fat making up a portion of the surrounding layer of nearly every cell in your body. Next diet myth that needs to die is the concept that eating after 6PM at night is somehow going to make you fat. Again, it comes down to where you are at in your daily caloric intake in relation to your maintenance levels. If you are 800 calories below your daily caloric maintenance intake, eating these calories at 7 or 8 or even 10PM is not going to adversely affect you in your pursuit of getting a ripped six pack. The fact of the matter is, you are still at or below your level to maintain your current level of body fat and simply shifting the time at which you consume these calories does not change their thermal effect. That said, eating your meals too infrequently throughout the day can wreak havoc on your blood sugar levels. Having wildly unstable levels of blood sugar can lead to severe alterations in mood, focus and most importantly cravings. When you allow your cravings to build too significantly, you often find yourself in a position where you will grab foods that don’t align themselves with your healthy eating approach needed to get ripped and stay ripped as you build muscle. The next popular eating and diet tip that is dispensed all too often these days is the concept that you cannot build muscle if you are following a vegan or vegetarian meal plan. Why? There are plenty of protein options available to those following a meat and dairy free meal plan including quinoa, chick peas, and even pea protein powders that enable vegans to get adequate protein without having to follow a meat based eating plan. The total amount of protein needed to build new muscle is still a hotly debated topic however it has been shown to vary from individual to individual and could be far less than what you may have been told previously. Finally, there is a mistaken belief by some that taking supplements and fat burners will get you ripped. That is simply not the case if you refuse to also take your daily diet plan seriously. If you think that you can eat like garbage the whole day and simply pop a supplement and get lean, ripped abs you are wrong. That said, someone that is committed to eating healthy and then supplements their diet plan with workout and nutrition supplements is often able to get much faster results than those that don’t. A lot of the success of workout supplements has to do with their ability to help you remain consistent with your nutrition plan and stay accountable to it. Starting your day with a supplement that you are financially invested in will help you to be emotionally invested in the goals you set forth for getting ripped and muscular that you set when you initially purchased the supplement. The consistency that supplements provide in helping you to get in high quality nutrition in a portable and easy to prepare way is likewise priceless. As you can see, there are many workout and nutrition or diet myths that are popular and preventing you from getting abs and building muscle. If you want to follow a step by step diet plan for building muscle and getting ripped at the same time, head to http://athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. Justin's HIV Journal HIV & High Cholesterol

09:39
People who take certain HIV medications often get high cholesterol as a side effect of the drugs. Recently my doctor told me that I have high cholesterol. But is it a result of my drug regimen? I had been taking Reyataz, Norvir and Truvada, all of which have high cholesterol as a possible adverse effect. It could be my genes or my lifestyle--or even a combination. I may never really know. But since high cholesterol increases your risk of having a heart attack or stroke, it's time for me to make some changes. Here Comes Trouble My average cholesterol is 234.1; the average of my doctor's patients is 185. My LDL, or "bad cholesterol," is 143.1, which is borderline high. My HDL, or "good" cholesterol, is 52, which is good. (To learn more about cholesterol levels, go here.) My triglycerides were also high. High cholesterol runs in my family. For years I have known that my dad has it. Over the holidays I learned that my mother does too. This double shot of high cholesterol means that I really have to be careful, especially since being male and of African American descent may increase my risk of heart disease also. Fortunately I don't smoke. Living for the Weekend Rather than immediately change my meds, which is complicated, my doctor decided that we'd first approach the problem by making lifestyle changes. There are two areas that I can take charge of on my own: eating and exercise. First I had to slow my cholesterol intake. Now that I'm 30, my body doesn't process foods at the same speed that it did when I was 19. This meant that I had to examine my food choices. During the week, my diet was relatively healthy. Here was my diet on a typical day: Breakfast: Ensure nutritional supplement Snack: ravoli Lunch: Quiznos sandwich, but sometimes McDonald's, pizza or buffalo wings Snack: banana Dinner: pasta, red meat or fish with rice, and wine, preferably red But the weekend was a whole different story: I love a good steak-and-eggs breakfast; I also eat a lot. Here is an example of a typical weekend day: Breakfast: pork bacon, ham, pancakes, biscuits, hash browns and maybe some grits (I also smothered foods with butter) Lunch: chips, pickles and soda Dinner: pizza, chicken wings with ranch sauce, or a steak with mashed potatoes Many of these foods are high in cholesterol (go here to learn more about foods to eat and foods to avoid). I also used a lot of condiments that were high in cholesterol. And I didn't work out much. Yet my waist is still a size 28--okay, 29--so until my doctor said something, I thought everything was okay. But I realized that I had to improve my eating habits, particularly on the weekend, and head to the gym. Given the choice between big steaks and a healthy life, to me the choice is clear. A Change of Plans So I've changed my eating habits. On a typical weekday I now eat: Breakfast: banana and a cinnamon-raisin bagel Snack: orange juice, an apple, water Lunch: club sandwich without bacon, iced green tea Snack: crackers Dinner: baked fish, greens, rice and wine, preferably red And on weekends I now eat: Breakfast: pancakes, muffin with honey, turkey bacon Lunch: tuna fish sandwich with mayonnaise Dinner: catfish, rice, couscous and wine I also take one multivitamin, fish oil to protect against heart disease, and vitamin D because my doctor has noticed in some of his patients who take it that their T-cell, or CD4, counts have gone up. This is on top of the three HIV meds (six pills) I take every day. And I've started hitting the gym three times a week to lift free weights. On my off days, I try to run at least one mile. Controls blood glucose levels and with a balanced blood sugar level, you're much less likely to experience intense, hard-to-resist sugar cravings throughout the day (1,2) Lemon- Lemons contain a soluble fiber known as pectin that benefits the body’s detoxifying capabilities by regulating the body’s use of sugars and cholesterol; improves gut and digestive health Coffee With Stevia: Caffeine- Caffeine acts on the central nervous system and causes a release of the neurotransmitters dopamine and epinephrine - increases thermogenesis and fat oxidation. In one study, twelve healthy, normal weight men participated in a four-way crossover, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study. Treatments were administered as tablets of 500 mg Green Tea Extract, 400 mg tyrosine, 50 mg caffeine, or placebo. Results: Caffeine induced a thermogenic response of 6% above baseline compared to placebo and only caffeine was thermogenic in the given dose and caused no hemodynamic side effects Chlorogenic Acid (CGA)- Chlorogenic acid is a polyphenol antioxidant found in coffee - reduces blood glucose and insulin levels after a meal. Zevia- Zevia is an all-natural zero calorie soda made without artificial sweeteners, is non-GMO, kosher, gluten-free, vegan and contains no colors, dyes or phosphoric acid. Considered an all-natural alternative as it uses stevia, a herb from the sunflower family, as its sweetener and is up to 300x sweeter than sugar. Stevia- Lowers insulin and glucose due to its lack of metabolization - steviol glycosides pass through the upper gastrointestinal tract fully intact. Lowers Blood Pressure- One study from the journal Clinical Therapeutics conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 174 patients - patients took either 500 mg of stevioside or placebo, 3 times per day. After two years, the group taking stevioside: Systolic blood pressure went from 150 to 140 mmHg and Diastolic blood pressure went from 95 down to 89 mmHg. Iced Green Tea with Extra Ginseng: Ginseng- Study/ The International Wound Journal found that ginseng supplementation increased the growth of wound-healing cells (fibroblasts) and increased collagen synthesis in human dermal cells. *This Video does contain a paid promotion from Zevia. They reached out to me and were excited to see me drink Zevia in a precious Instagram photo and asked if I would be open to sharing that I drink Zevia. References: 1) acetic acid | CH3COOH - PubChem. Negative Effects of Soda

03:27
http://www.coryshumaker.com CoryShu on Twitter Negative Effects of Soda High Fructose Corn Syrup • "Drinking high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), the main ingredient in most soft drinks throughout the world, increases your triglyceride levels and your LDL (bad) cholesterol." • "...it is metabolized to fat in your body far more rapidly than any other sugar" • HFCS has been directly linked to Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome. Very High Phosphorus & Zero Calcium • "When phosphate levels are high and calcium levels are low, calcium is pulled out of the bones." • Each soda has substantial amounts of phosphoric acid; in an experiment, human teeth began to dissolve when put in a cola beverage. • Acidity of soda is the same as vinegar. • "Tooth loss and gingivitis can be problems, especially with a high phosphorus intake" • "Phosphoric acid infiltrates bodily fluids and corrodes stomach linings, it upsets the alkaline-acid balance of the kidneys, and eats away at your liver" Aspartame • AKA: Equal, Splenda, and other artificial sweeteners. • Used as a sweetener in all diet sodas. • The aspartame is broken down into methanol when ingested and goes into the blood stream. • "Each diet soda with aspartame produces about 20 mg of methanol. The methanol breaks down further into 6 mg of formaldehyde which is three times the daily EPA limit. It's 30 times the limit in New Jersey, 100 times the limit in California, and 300 times the limit in Maryland." Obesity • "...researchers calculate that for each additional soda consumed, the risk of obesity increases 1.6 times." • "One soft drink a day gives children a 60% greater chance of becoming obese." • "Each daily drink added .18 points to a child's body mass index (BMI)." Summary • High Fructose Corn Syrup • High in phosphoric acid, low in calcium • Aspartame breaks down into formaldehyde • Obesity

The Proper Diet for a Healthy Heart

05:54
Dr. James O'Keefe, Preventive Cardiologist with Cardiovascular Consultants of the St. Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, explains the proper diet for preventing Coronary Heart Disease, and the scientific data that proves it works. Today we live in a society of chronic over abundance. This is when we must rely on a diet that includes natural food, which we are designed to eat. This heart healthy diet includes many fruits and vegetables. The average American eats over 70 kg of sugar each year, our bodies were not designed to intake any sugar. When we eat sugar at the current rate we do, our bodies aren't be able to run correctly. It is important that we include a full nine servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Fruits and vegetables will fill you up with a lot of fluid, fiber and calories, but not a lot of calories. Supplements, while convenient, don't do the same thing for you as eating the individual apple or orange. Another part of the diet you must think about is what you're drinking each day. Soda pop is the worst beverage you can drink; it is full of high-fructose corn syrup and can distort your metabolic mileu and hormones. Even diet soda is not very good for you. Water is the most important beverage your can consume, about eight glasses each day. Other great beverages include teas and coffees, which are high in antioxidants behavior and low in calories. Finally, it is important that you make sure you are getting enough protein. Make sure you are eating meat that is high in protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and monounsaturated fat while being low in saturated fat and lacking salt, hormones and other preservatives we have been known to put in our meats. It has to be lean, clean protein and it is necessary at least three times per day. Breakfast is the most important time to have protein because it will keep you going all day. Whey protein is another alternative to eating meat. It is great for you and your body will thrive on it. For more information go to www.cardiotabs.com

soda and health

02:16
soda health benefits The Sugar! – A single can of soda contains the equivalent of 10 teaspoons of sugar.

Liquid Candy - The Effects Of Sugary Drinks On Kids' Hearts

01:01
http://www.dailyrxnews.com/ A new study from Tufts University found that a higher consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) was linked to harmful triglyceride levels, while lowering this consumption was linked to higher levels of HDL cholesterol — also known as "good" cholesterol. "HDL is known as 'good' cholesterol because it is a type of fat in the blood that helps remove LDL ('bad') cholesterol from the circulation, preventing fatty build up and the formation of plaques in blood vessels," said lead study author Maria Van Rompay, PhD, a professor at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, in an interview with dailyRx News. Triglycerides, Dr. Van Rompay explained, are a type of fat in the blood that makes up the majority of the body's fat tissue. The more calories a person takes in, the more triglycerides. Some studies have also linked high triglyceride levels with an increased risk of heart disease, according to Dr. Van Rompay. Dr. Van Rompay and team used data from The Daily D Health Study, a vitamin D supplement trial, to look at 613 kids and teens between ages 8 and 15 living in the Boston area. Of these participants, 68 percent were from low-income households, 47 percent were overweight or obese and 59 percent were non-white. These kids and teens were asked how many days in the previous week they had consumed SSBs. SSBs were defined as regular sodas, non-100 percent fruit juices and other sugary beverages like sweetened teas. About 85 percent reported consuming SSBs during the previous week, while 18 percent consumed at least one serving per day. These kids were monitored for 12 months, and their blood and lipid levels were regularly measured. One group was asked to lower their intake of SSBs by one serving per week, while another group kept their usual habits. HDL-cholesterol concentrations went up in those who limited SSB intake. Triglycerides went down. High SSB intake was strongly linked to older age groups, puberty, lower socioeconomic status, lower intake of fruits and vegetables and higher amounts of sedentary time. No link was found between SSB intake and racial or ethnic categories. According to Dr. Van Rompay, this study is important because it is one of the few to look at the health effects of SSB intake for kids and teens.

The low quality of the food will make your body have something damaged, and it won’t work properly. Consumption of large amounts of sodium is the key reason for poor health and serious problems. Because of this, you need to avoid these 16 foods and keep your health on point . Table salt: in case you are consuming more salt from that it is necessary, you will have problem with your vision and circulations. When you have a problem with the circulation your heart, kidneys and brain are in danger. Fast food French fries: when you are consuming French fries, you are putting your health on a risk. Pop: a lot of studies showed that sugar is found in sodas and similar products. These drinks will cause hypertension. Liquor: a lot of studies showed that consuming alcohol will decrease the blood supply levels. Red meat: this ingredient will increase the risk of making health problems and impair the veins function. Processed meat: Many health problems for the heart arrive from meat products such as bologna, wieners, bacon, frankfurter and other pre-prepared meats. To avoid hypertension and keep your heart health on point, steer clear from processed meats and try consuming low-salt meat such as chicken, turkey bosom or incline hamburger. Pickles: we know that they are very low in calories, but they are high in sodium. This is something which we may say it is made of sodium. Sugar: sugar is not used at all, especially the ne which is processed. Doughnuts: these are very delicious, but they are full with calories which will make a damage on our organism. Margarine: it is used in everyday cooking, but it is so bad and unhealthy which everyone can see it. Canned Chicken Noodle Soup: Chickens are very bad, especially in the soups. No matter that is the easiest and the fastest meal, it is not healthy and it is not good. Canned biscuits are quite changed before becoming what we see in the stores. This means that they are full of processed substances and seasoned excessively. Check up the names of the ingredients on the label when buying biscuits and make sure they do not contain any hydrogenated oils. Also, keep in mind the sodium content. Ramen noodles: This is shockingly but one bundle of ramen noodles has 14 g fat and 1580 mg sodium. Accommodation foods like frozen pot pies: One sweet pie contains around 1300-1400mg of sodium and around 35 g of fat. This is far beyond the allowed daily limit. So, steer clear of these seemingly healthy desserts for good. Pizza: No matter it is the best meal ever and everyone are in a mood to eat pizza, it is very unhealthy and you need to take care of you. In addition we are going to present you the ingredients which are going to lower your blood cholesterol. Natural products we recommend for reducing hypertension are, beans, peas, veggies, grain oats, rice, pasta, and breads. You also need to eat sweet potatoes (squashed or prepared), spinach, lima beans, bananas, oranges (and squeezed orange!), and tomatoes.

What Will Happen If You Start Eating Oats Every Day

10:07
Doctors and nutritionists highly recommend making oatmeal a part of your diet and having it as your healthy morning meal. The secret is simple: good-quality environmentally-friendly oats help you feel and look better on the inside and out. Oats have some unique properties thanks to the wide variety of vitamins and minerals they contain. Zinc helps cleanse the skin and remove toxins and other harmful compounds. Iron is one of the most important elements for the nutrition and saturation of moisture in skin cells. Magnesium promotes blood circulation and noticeable skin cell renewal. While protein is extremely important, your body also demands carbohydrates and fats, both of which you can find in oatmeal. Oats are also rich in antioxidants that help alleviate itching, inflammation, and high blood pressure. The slow carbohydrates found in oatmeal help curb your appetite and maintain normal blood sugar levels. All those nutrients in oats not only boost your metabolism but also prevent the accumulation of fat and toxins in the body. Thanks to the antioxidants present in oatmeal, the probability of damage to the walls of blood vessels by free radicals is reduced significantly. If you find it boring to just have oatmeal for breakfast every day, you’ll love the recipes we have put together to help you turn a boring oatmeal breakfast into something way more flavorful.
