Why Diet Soda Makes You Fat -- With Thomas DeLauer

07:46
How normal guys can get rid of belly fat fast: http://go2.sixpackshortcuts.com/SH16a -- Subscribe to Tom's channel! https://www.youtube.com/user/TheTdelauer -- What's up guys Thomas here today to tell you the truth about how these so called "diet" sodas are really effecting your weight loss efforts... And the truth is, they're moving you backwards instead of forwards when it comes to improving the shape of your body. Now these drinks are calorie free, which technically should help people lose weight and prevent sugar-related diseases… 1:10 - However, the evidence for these beverages having any use is completely nonexistent. Which brings me to my first terrible aftermath from drinking diet sodas, side effect #4: Metabolic syndrome. 1:29 - There is a lot of evidence supporting the fact that regularly drinking diet sodas can actually cause what researchers call “Metabolic syndrome”... Which is a series of risk factors that can lead to diabetes, stroke and in extreme cases, heart attacks. 1:50 - Now this condition is defined as having or experiencing at least 3 of the following symptoms - excessive belly fat or clinical obesity, high blood pressure, high fasting glucose (those with sugar-packed diets), high triglycerides and low amounts of your body’s good cholesterol. Drinking “calorie free” beverages instead of sugary ones does not appear to be helpful against the metabolic syndrome. 2:03 - In fact, looking at the research, sugar is really not the only culprit that is affecting your health like the mainstream media is making it appear… And just because diet sodas are “sugar free”, it doesn’t mean that they are healthy… 2:21 - In a study published in the journal Circulation in 2008, which followed 9,514 people for 9 years, drinking artificially sweetened beverages was associated with a 34% greater risk of developing the metabolic syndrome. 2:50 - Now onto side effect #3: There is an association between diet soda and depression. 3:30 - Nutrition and dietary experts are relating these findings to once again, the myriad of chemicals and synthetic ingredients found within diet drinks. 4:00 - Side effect #2: Drinking diet soda increases your risk for diabetes. 4:50 - Now, as everyone knows, the past decade of health surveys have revealed massive increases in populations develops diabetes… This disease is highly associated with obesity and sugar consumption, so most believe that replacing sugary beverages with calorie-free drinks would help… 5:17 - But according to the reports - it’s quite the opposite. A study of 6,814 individuals aged 45-85 years, daily consumption of diet soda was associated with a 67% increased risk of type II diabetes. In another French study, women were studied for 14 years and it was found that women who consumed the most diet drinks had a 121% greater risk of developing type II diabetes. 5:46 - I hate to be the barer of bad news - especially because the main reason people switch to diet drinks is to cut back on calories in order to lose weight… However, the numbers don’t lie people. 6:15 - And now, the final side effect. Drinking diet soda can actually make you fat. 6:38 - There are even many short-term trials that show that artificial sweeteners can increase appetite and food intake in the short-term compared to sugar. 6:50 - So the take away here guys is to not to choose between diet and regular soda - it’s to forego both. Instead, try drinking unsweetened beverages like coffee, tea, mineral water or 100 percent fruit juice… Or better yet, stick to plain, old water! Thank you guys for watching! -- Fastest way to get a ripped body: http://go2.sixpackshortcuts.com/SH16a And by the way guys... I didn't used to have the muscular body that I do now, and I struggled to get ripped six pack abs for years. In fact, I actually had belly fat that used to make me feel so shy that I wouldn't even take my shirt off in public. I would spend hours in the gym and see little to no results. I was extremely discouraged until one day I realized that I was working out wrong. It was then that I discovered the 'trick' to lose my stubborn belly fat and get toned six pack abs...fast. Don't waste another day working out until you see this: http://go2.sixpackshortcuts.com/SH16a Catch you guys later, -Thomas And don't forget to share this video with your friends on Facebook: https://youtu.be/Kq8iWuXN2dg

10 Lupus Diet and Nutrition Do’s and Don’ts

03:44
10 Lupus Diet and Nutrition Do’s and Don’ts 10. DON’T: Drink Soda Stay away from acidic drinks that are full of sugar and chemicals. Soda, or pop, is a big no. They are full of empty calories and can cause inflammation and bloating. 9. DO: Drink Water Make sure to drink enough water through the day. The 8 glasses a day idea is not a rule, but you should be sipping water regularly. It can help push out toxins from the body and it can help the sluggish digestive systems many lupus sufferers experience. 8. DON’T: Eat Red Meat Eating red meat can cause flair ups in lupus sufferers. It can cause inflammation and it is high in saturated fat. Red meat does have high levels of iron that your body needs, so talk to your doctor about a supplement. 7. DO: Eat Fish Fish is a lean protein that is high in omega 3 fatty acids. It is a great alternative to red meats. Look for unprocessed fish products. Some pre-cooked varieties are high in MSG and salt. 6. DON’T: Eat Refined Carbohydrates Refined carbohydrates includes white bread, white pasta, processed rice, and most packaged snack foods. They can cause water retention that can give unpleasant lupus symptoms. 5. DO: Eat Whole Foods Look for foods that you can eat whole. If you’re craving starch but are resisting the refined carbohydrates, try having potatoes or brown rice. As much as possible, try eating vegetables and fruit in their raw forms. They have more fiber and nutrients when uncooked. 4. DON’T: Use Artificial Sweeteners Every brand of artificial sweetener has its drawbacks. While there have been no studies showing a relation to lupus and artificial sweeteners, there are many who believe they are connected. Stay safe and stay away from these products. 3. DO: Eat Anti-Inflammatory Foods There are many naturally anti-inflammatory foods. They include flax seeds, avocados, walnuts, berries, leafy green vegetables, carrots, squash, and lean protein. Choose fresh foods over processed ones. 2. DON’T: Eat Fast Food Fast food is packed with mono saturated fats, trans-fats, and more. They are also high in salt and sugar. Try to avoid these foods to keep your body healthy. If you find yourself eating fast food, try taking trail mix to snack on through the day. 1. DO: Eat Easy To Digest Foods One of the side effects of lupus is a troublesome digestive system. Help it along by having easily digestible foods. For instance, hard to digest foods, like nuts, can be soaked prior to eating. Soups and fruit smoothies are also easy to digest and very nutritious! What Happens One Hour After Drinking A Can Of Coke

10:37
What Happens One Hour After Drinking A Can Of Coke Something that I noticed when working as a pharmacist was why people would still gain weight even though they were following a strict low fat diet recommended to them by their doctor. This made me question whether it is really the ‘fat’ that causes us to gain unhealthy weight. After seeing so many people suffering from obesity related diseases like heart disease, diabetes and the side effects of the medication they were taking, I was strongly motivated to research what actually causes people to become obese, it clearly was not just the fat they were eating! I actually discovered that a trigger factor for many widespread diseases of the west such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes could be closely linked to the consumption of one particular substance found in many processed foods and drinks – fructose in the form of high fructose corn syrup. Fructose is the form of high fructose corn syrup found in pretty much all processed foods such as ready meals, fast foods, sweets and fizzy drinks and most people are totally unaware of its danger. It is also often found in ‘low fat’ supposedly healthy alternatives and even many popular weight loss products because food with the fat taken out simply tastes horrible. High fructose corn syrup in combination with many other additives are usually added to enhance the flavor. Glucose is the type of sugar our body loves. It gets metabolized by every cell in our body and is very easy to burn with very few toxic by-products. It also tells the brain to stop eating when you are full. Fructose on the other hand is another type of sugar and is found in sucrose which breaks down to glucose and fructose. Fructose is actually only metabolized by the liver and it’s very similar to ethanol (the alcohol in drinks). When you consume it, it’s actually like ethanol but without the high. It confuses the liver and ends up making lots of bad fats in the process. It also doesn’t signal your brain that you are full. This is why people can drink massive cups of fizzy drinks which are high in fructose and still eat huge meals containing refined foods that are also full of fructose. Many fruits also contain fructose, but nature has provided the antidote, as these fruits are also packed with fibre which prevents your body from absorbing too much of it. When I advised people to reduce their consumption of high fructose corn syrup by eating lower carb/higher protein diets, free from processed foods, even if the labels say they are healthy options, they started to lose weight and feel much better as a result. In many cases I asked people to just stop their consumption of fizzy drinks like Coca Cola and instead swap it with either plain water, or add some freshly squeezed lemon for flavor. Green tea is also a great alternative, and it is one of my personal favorites because it contains alpha wave stimulating theanine that also double serves as an antidote to the harmful effects of caffeine. Those who loved to drink tea and coffee sweetened with lots of sugar, I advised to swap with natural sweeteners like stevia instead. This alone had some remarkable results. There are 1.6 billion servings of Coke sold each day worldwide!! A very significant percentage of that is through supermarket chains like WALMART. Read more: http://www.coca-cola.co.uk/about-us/coca-cola-by-numbers.html So you can imagine how unpopular I became in WALMART’s head office in the UK with my information strongly advising people to stop drinking fizzy drinks like Coke! I recently came across a great article by Wade Meredith that explains what happens when you drink just 1 can of Coca Cola and this applies to pretty much most caffeinated soft drinks, not just Coke! https://youtu.be/tyjXZ_UlJ48

4 Popular Diet Tips - YOU SHOULD NEVER FOLLOW!!

08:04
Get a step by step diet plan that will get you ripped year round here… http://athleanx.com/x/diet-plan-for-ripped-muscle Everywhere you turn, people give out diet tips and advice for how to lose fat or build muscle fast. The problem is, most of that advice is terrible and will not help you to get to your goal any faster. As a matter of fact, many popular diet tips will do exactly the opposite of what they are supposed to be helping you to do. In this video, I cover four of the most popular diet and meal plan tips that need to be buried right here and now. Right off the bat, some will have you believe that eating fat makes you fat. That can’t be further from the truth. Eating fat, COULD make you fat if you eat in excess of your daily caloric maintenance levels just as eating too many carbs and protein can as well. The simple act of eating a fat molecule will not cause it to be stored as body fat in your body. In fact, nutritional fats are a necessary part of a healthy diet plan, with fat making up a portion of the surrounding layer of nearly every cell in your body. Next diet myth that needs to die is the concept that eating after 6PM at night is somehow going to make you fat. Again, it comes down to where you are at in your daily caloric intake in relation to your maintenance levels. If you are 800 calories below your daily caloric maintenance intake, eating these calories at 7 or 8 or even 10PM is not going to adversely affect you in your pursuit of getting a ripped six pack. The fact of the matter is, you are still at or below your level to maintain your current level of body fat and simply shifting the time at which you consume these calories does not change their thermal effect. That said, eating your meals too infrequently throughout the day can wreak havoc on your blood sugar levels. Having wildly unstable levels of blood sugar can lead to severe alterations in mood, focus and most importantly cravings. When you allow your cravings to build too significantly, you often find yourself in a position where you will grab foods that don’t align themselves with your healthy eating approach needed to get ripped and stay ripped as you build muscle. The next popular eating and diet tip that is dispensed all too often these days is the concept that you cannot build muscle if you are following a vegan or vegetarian meal plan. Why? There are plenty of protein options available to those following a meat and dairy free meal plan including quinoa, chick peas, and even pea protein powders that enable vegans to get adequate protein without having to follow a meat based eating plan. The total amount of protein needed to build new muscle is still a hotly debated topic however it has been shown to vary from individual to individual and could be far less than what you may have been told previously. Finally, there is a mistaken belief by some that taking supplements and fat burners will get you ripped. That is simply not the case if you refuse to also take your daily diet plan seriously. If you think that you can eat like garbage the whole day and simply pop a supplement and get lean, ripped abs you are wrong. That said, someone that is committed to eating healthy and then supplements their diet plan with workout and nutrition supplements is often able to get much faster results than those that don’t. A lot of the success of workout supplements has to do with their ability to help you remain consistent with your nutrition plan and stay accountable to it. Starting your day with a supplement that you are financially invested in will help you to be emotionally invested in the goals you set forth for getting ripped and muscular that you set when you initially purchased the supplement. The consistency that supplements provide in helping you to get in high quality nutrition in a portable and easy to prepare way is likewise priceless. As you can see, there are many workout and nutrition or diet myths that are popular and preventing you from getting abs and building muscle. This Common Drink Destroys Your Bones and is Full of Cancer-Causing Chemicals!

04:38
This Common Drink Destroys Your Bones and is Full of Cancer-Causing Chemicals! Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11 Even though people are all aware of the detrimental effects of soda drinks, they still consume this harmful, sugar-loaded drink in excess. Even though there is a slight fall in the sales, over $75 billion worth of soda is still bought annually, causing an increased risk of heart diseases, tooth decay, obesity, diabetes, and much more. Here are some of the major reasons why you should no longer drink soda: 1. Soda Contains Cancer-Causing Additives. Many sodas contain artificial caramel colorings in order to get the brown color. However, this popular additive includes two contaminants: 2-methylimidazole and 4-methylimidazole, both of which have been found to lead to cancer in animals. The California’s strict Proposition 65 list of cancer- causing chemicals states that 16 micrograms daily of 4-methylimidazole is sufficient to pose a cancer threat. What’s more, the most popular brown sodas contain even 200 micrograms of it per 20 oz bottle. 2. Soda leads to Fat Gain. A Danish study has shown that the consumption of non-diet soda causes a significant rise in the accumulation of fat around the liver and the skeletal muscles, which contributes to diabetes and insulin resistance. Researchers have discovered that the daily consumption of regular soda for six months leads to increased skeletal, liver, triglyceride blood fat and other organ fat, and an 11% increase in cholesterol. 3. Soda Causes Tooth Decay. There is a special term for the tooth decay in children and adults as a result of the excessive consumption of soda, “Mountain Dew Mouth.”Soda contains citric acid which erodes the enamel and even the dentin, the core of the tooth, over time. 4. Soda can cause Osteoporosis. All kinds of sodas have phosphates or phosphoric acid which provide the tangy flavor and extend the shelf life. The excess intake of phosphoric acid leads to osteoporosis, muscle loss, heart and kidney problems, and speeds up the aging process. In relation to calcium intake, it can result in bone loss and the caffeine in these drinks inhibits the absorption of calcium. The consumption of soda greatly increases the risk of osteoporosis and reduces the bone density. 5. Soda leads to various diseases. The consumption of soda causes various different diseases, including: Type 2 Diabetes: The consumption of one can of soda daily has been related to the elevated risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Heart Disease: Numerous studies have confirmed that there is a link between the consumption of sugar and the increased risk of heart diseases. Only one sugary beverage daily leads to a 20% increased risk of a heart attack or even a death from a heart attack. Insulin Resistance: The consumption of excessive amounts of sugar may lead to an insulin resistance in cells. In this case, the pancreas s forced to produce even more insulin to eliminate the glucose from the bloodstream, leading to high insulin levels and insulin resistance. Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease: Too much fructose consumed via these sugary drinks can overload the liver, and it can be converted into fat, which remains in the liver and causes non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Dementia: Research has found a relation between the increased blood sugar levels and the elevated dementia risk. Excess amounts of sugary drinks can greatly impair memory and the decision-making capabilities, causing more complications, and conditions like Alzheimer’s disease. ======================================== soda, soda water, soft drinks, soda pop, carbonated drinks, fizzy drinks, cream soda, diet soda, healthy soda, carbonated soft drinks, diet grape soda, sugar in soda, pop drink, drinking soda, aerated drinks, soda machine, healthy soft drinks, cold drinks, soft drinks list, soda syrup, effects of soda, buy soda in bulk, low sugar soft drinks, soft drink brands, cool drinks, list of soft drinks, sugar in soft drinks, soft drinks on sale, diet pop, coke soda https://youtu.be/GVOESmUVqSI Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11

How to Eat Cleaner - Day 15 of 31 - Soda - It's Bad For You Don't Drink It! Period!

07:50
http://facebook.com/coachlana How to Eat Cleaner - Day 15 of 31 - Soda - It's Bad For You Don't Drink It! Period! Hello everyone. I'm so excited that you decided to join me in our 31 days to cleaner or healthier eating. Each one of these videos will have 1 simple concept for you to chew on. It's your choice what you do with it. Try it for a day, a week, a month or implement for your entire life. My hope is it helps you open your mind to learning more about fueling your body more healthily. Part of cleaning up what we eat is getting educated and alot of these videos focus on awareness. Today we talk about soda and yes, this is another topic that could be pages and pages. Here is just a brief overview, please research for yourself if you want to dig deeper. In addition, consuming large amounts of rapidly digested sugar and high fructose corn syrup causes a spike in blood sugar and insulin, which can lead to inflammation and insulin resistance, both of which may increase your risk of stroke, heart disease, diabetes, obesity and cancer. The large doses of fructose from both sucrose (table sugar) and high fructose corn syrup may be particularly detrimental to your health as they can cause the accumulation of metabolically toxic belly fat, cholesterol abnormalities -- including high triglycerides and reduced levels of HDL (good cholesterol) -- and nonalcoholic associated fatty liver disease. Soda is also associated with symptoms of gastro-esophageal reflux disease, when the contents of the stomach leak back up and cause a burning sensation in the esophagus. While drinking soda is not known to cause ulcers, it can cause symptoms to flare up. The American Heart Association recommends consuming no more than 450 calories from sugar sweetened beverages per week (the amount in three cans of cola). If you are overweight or obese, or at risk for heart disease or diabetes, you should limit your intake of sugar sweetened beverages as much as possible, including soda, energy drinks, sports drinks, juice drinks and sweetened water and/or tea. Drinking non-diet soda dramatically increases fat buildup around your liver and your skeletal muscles, both of which can contribute to insulin resistance and diabetes. People who drink diet soda have a 70 percent increase in waist circumference. It's the aspartame, which raised blood glucose levels, that causes the weight gain; when your liver encounters too much glucose, the excess is converted to body fat. Avoid brown sodas. The reason: Two contaminants in the coloring, 2-methylimidazole and 4-methylimidazole, have been found to cause cancer in animals, the coloring is purely cosmetic. Just 16 micrograms per person per day of 4-methylimidazole is enough to pose a cancer threat, and most popular brown colas, both diet and regular, contain 200 micrograms per 20-ounce bottle. Diet or regular, all colas contain phosphates, or phosphoric acid, a weak acid that gives colas their tangy flavor and improves their shelf life. Although it exists in many whole foods, such as meat, dairy, and nuts; too much phosphoric acid can lead to heart and kidney problems, muscle loss, and osteoporosis, and one study suggests it could trigger accelerated aging. A disturbing trend considering that soda manufacturers have been increasing the levels of phosphoric acid in their products over the past few decades. The artificial sweeteners used in diet sodas don't break down in our bodies and wastewater-treatment plants don't catch them before they enter the waterways. A recent test of 19 municipal water supplies in the U.S. revealed the presence of sucralose in every one. It's not clear yet what these low levels are doing to people, but past research has found that sucralose in rivers and lakes interferes with some organisms' feeding habits. Kids who drink too much Mountain Dew wind up with, what dentists call, "Mountain Dew Mouth," full of cavities caused by the drink's excessive sugar levels. The next medical condition we may see will be "Mountain Dew Mind". Brominated vegetable oil, or BVO, is added to prevent the flavoring from separating from citrus soda drinks and is an industrial chemical used as a flame retardant in plastics. The chemical has been known to cause memory loss and nerve disorders when consumed in large quantities. Researchers also suspect that the chemical builds up in body fat, possibly causing behavioral problems, infertility, and lesions on heart muscles over time. Nearly all aluminum soda cans are lined with an epoxy resin called bisphenol A (BPA), used to keep the acids in soda from reacting with the metal. BPA is known to interfere with hormones, and has been linked to everything from infertility to obesity and diabetes and some forms of reproductive cancers. Foods to Avoid a Fatty Liver

03:14
http://bit.ly/fattylr Foods to Avoid a Fatty Liver The American Liver Foundation (ALF) defines a fatty liver as “the build-up of excess fat in the liver cells.” One of the biggest risk factors for a fatty liver is obesity, which is caused by excess calorie consumption. Other risk factors include diabetes, high cholesterol or triglycerides, alcohol abuse, gastric bypass surgery, certain medications and malnutrition. There is no standard treatment for fatty liver but Johns Hopkins University reports that weight loss can help prevent and treat a fatty liver. Fruits, Vegetables and Whole Grains A healthy diet is rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Fruits, vegetables and whole grains are naturally low in calories and fat but high in fiber. According to the American Dietetic Association fibrous foods increase the feeling of fullness that can prevent overeating and subsequent weight gain. Fiber-rich diets can also prevent type 2 diabetes, a risk factor for a fatty liver. Protein and Dairy The best proteins to support weight maintenance and weight loss are from lean sources like poultry, eggs, soy, lean meats, fish, seafood, beans and legumes. Excess fat and calories can be reduced by removing all visible fat and skin from meat and poultry prior to cooking and using healthy methods to cook foods like grilling, steaming, broiling, baking, roasting and poaching. The healthiest dairy products include low-fat or non-fat milk, yogurt and cheese. Low-Cholesterol Foods Cholesterol is a type of fat found in animal products. A report in the August 7, 2011 issue of the "World Journal of Gastroenterology," recommends a diet that is low in saturated and trans fats. Foods high in omega fatty acids such as fatty fish, olive oil and nuts are recommended to help treat fatty liver. The report also recommends foods low in simple sugars and high-fructose corn syrup. Non-alcoholic Beverages Alcohol puts stress on the liver and is closely tied to liver disease. According to the California Pacific Medical Center as little as one glass of beer or wine a week can contribute to a fatty liver. F.A.S.T. TOP 5 WORST FOODS

03:38
Sign up today for Conor McGregor's Program https://mcgregorfast.com/ Here are our top 5 foods to avoid 5. MARGARINE Margarine is made from liquid vegetable oil. To make the oil more solid at room temperature, hydrogen is added. This hydrogenation process causes the naturally occurring cis form of fat to change into the trans form of fat. Trans fats are associated with a higher risk of coronary artery disease by increasing your bad or LDL cholesterol and decreasing your amount of HDL or good cholesterol. Instead use real dairy butter is a better choice. Just don't overdo it because butter is a very calorie dense food. Use your imagination with other alternatives such as coconut butter, hummus or mashed avocado which can add a nice little exotic flavouring too. 4. POTATO CHIPS The crispy texture, fat and saltiness of potato chips makes them "hyper palatable". One handful is never enough - you just gotta keep going. But that's where the problem is, it's too easy to add a lot of empty calories to your diet by snacking on potato chips. If you have a craving for something crunchy then satisfy it with a more nutrient rich choice such as roast almonds, bagel chips or mini rice cakes. 3. MAYONAISE Vegetable oil, sugar, salt and emulsifying agents. There is nothing that we need here for optimum performance. Even the home made version has its own risks. The raw egg yolks that are used can be a source of salmonella food poisoning. Hold on the mayo! 2. SODA POP Fizzy soft drinks can carry an incredible amount of empty calories in the form of sugar. One can of soda pop can have 35 - 50 grams of sugars dissolved in it. That's the equivalent of about 8 - 12 teaspoons of table sugar per can. Not only is all that sugar bad for your teeth, the carbonation that makes soda pop fizzy is quite acidic and can further erode your tooth enamel. 1. PROCESSED DELI MEATS This stuff is nasty. Not only are processed deli meat products high in fat and salt. Worse yet, they contain sodium nitrite. This food additive changes the natural grey colour of junk meats to a nice, delicious pink or red colour. Not a bad thing. It also increase the shelf life of the product - also not a bad thing, but when the sodium nitrite hits the stomach acid or is heated during cooking, it is converted into carcinogenic nitrosamines. These are strongly associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. Now that's a pain in the ass nobody wants. So ditch those deli meats for good.

Diet soda facts and myths

Diet soda facts and myths Visit www.improvemant.com for daily videos on men’s style, women and relationships, sex and attraction, health, domestic skills and motivational topics. You can also download your free 70 page men’s style eBook with close to 400 images and style tips and advice in the side panel on the home page at www.improvemant.com. Watch my previous video on diet soda alternatives - http://youtu.be/NxYgJwNiXjM The first point to make is that whilst there have been tests and studies conducted on humans, the majority of research conducted on the negatives of diet sodas were performed on animals such as mice and rats. So you have probably all heard of the chemical aspartame which is the most common artificial sweetener found in diet sodas. The reports that were debunking the negatives of diet soda were saying that aspartame is harmful, but only if consumed in very large quantities. It was suggested that say 1, 2 or more cans of diet soda per day was not enough to cause the many problems that it is associated with. Some experts say that there has not been significant enough research over a long enough period to conclude that the many harmful reports are true or not. Regarding the link between diet soda and weight gain, some people said that overweight people who are drinking diet soda could be skewing the figures and statistics. Ok now let’s take a look at the many reported harmful side effects of consuming diet soda. TOOTH DECAY Now this element of drinking diet soda just blew my mind as I had no idea whatsoever, I thought it was the sugar in fizzy drinks that caused tooth decay but a case study published in the journal of General Dentistry compared the mouths of a cocaine-user, a methamphetamine-user, and a habitual diet-soda drinker, and found the same level of tooth decay in all 3 mouths. Even worse than sugar is the acids in both regular and diet soda which weakens and destroys tooth enamel. INCREASES EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL It has been researched and proven that those who combined alcohol and diet soda had a higher concentration of alcohol on their breath and got drunk faster than those that combined sugary drinks with alcohol. This is believed to be because artificial sweeteners are absorbed more quickly in the bloodstream than sugar. WEIGHT GAIN Drinking any liquid with a meal is a common practice and this includes diet sodas. One theory that was proven when testing mice and rats was that the artificial sweeteners in these diet drinks were tricking the animals brains into thinking they were not full despite having just eaten a meal. The artificial sweeteners signalled to the rats' brains that they were receiving calories as a result of tasting the sweetness of the diet soda. So when the body did not actually receive these calories, the animals craved more food. Based off these findings it is possible that humans consuming diet drinks regularly with their meals could be promoted to overeat or eat again soon after consuming a meal. I also read in the book called sugar detox written by Brooke Alpert that artificial sweeteners trigger insulin, which puts the body into fat storage mode and can lead to weight gain. So if that theory was accurate then essentially artificial sugar has the same damaging effects of real sugar for weight gain. THE CONTAINER ITSELF There is a particular chemical found in soda cans and containers called Bisphenol A which has been linked to issues including obesity, heart diseases and reproductive problems. METABOLIC SYDROME These 2 words could be seen as the biggest problem in the world today. Metabolic syndrome is an umbrella term for the collection of the most crippling diseases including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, large waist circumference, heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Reports claimed that drinking one diet soda can per day increased the chances of metabolic syndrome by close to 40%. DULLS SENSES The flavour of artificial sweeteners is actually more powerful than real sugar which can make other sweet foods like fruit taste duller than if we were not consuming artificial sweeteners. ZERO NUTRITIONAL BENEFIT Whilst it is true you are not consuming any calories, unlike plain water, when you consume diet soda you are also not consuming any beneficial nutrients eithers. WEAKER BONES I was repeatedly reading that both soda and diet soda has been proven to effect the calcium levels and strength of bones.

Eat 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil a Day and THIS Will Happen to Your Thyroid

03:19
Coconut oil has many health benefits that are well-documented. However, one recently discovered benefit is that coconut oil can help treat symptoms of hypothyroidism, or an under-active thyroid. Hypothyroidism occurs when the body’s thyroid gland does not make enough hormones to allow the body to function appropriately. Coconut oil contains a fatty acid called lauric acid, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Coconut oil also contains capric acid, which has antimicrobial and antiviral properties. It is recommended that you use extra virgin coconut oil for the best health benefits. One tablespoon of extra virgin coconut oil should be consumed daily. It can be added to hot beverages, such as tea or coffee, and added to daily cooking, drizzled over a salad or added to a smoothie. Today’s video will discuss health issues that coconut oil can help treat. 1. Metabolism When the body’s thyroid is under-active, it can cause the body to feel fatigued and without energy. The fatty acids in coconut oil help the fats in the body convert to energy. This, in turn, boosts the body’s metabolic rate. 2. Weight Loss One of the most major symptoms of an under-active thyroid is unexplained weight gain. The weight is very hard to lose and the thyroid hormones directly slow down the body’s metabolism. The Journal of Nutrition published a study that showed the fatty acids in coconut oil help to keep the body feeling fuller, longer. Thus, assisting the body in shedding excess weight. 3. Constipation When hormones from the thyroid are low, the body’s organs run slower as well, causing the digestive tract and intestines to lag. The fatty acids in coconut oil provide the body with energy and boost organ function. Coconut oil also works as a natural laxative and is effective in fighting constipation. 4. Inflammation An under-active thyroid causes muscle and joint pain, largely from unbalanced hormone levels. Coconut oil can naturally calm any inflammation and relieve any pain. 5. Hair Loss The thyroid can affect the health of your hair and may even cause it to begin to fall out. However, adding coconut oil to your regime will prevent this from occurring and repair hair follicles. 6. Dry Skin The imbalance of hormones caused by an under-active thyroid can cause the body’s skin to become dry and flaky. Coconut oil can be added directly to the affected skin to restore its moisture and healthy skin. Have you experienced an under-active thyroid? Have you tried any of these remedies? FACT ABOUT COOL DRINKS

02:25
Soft drinks are carbonated beverages. They are commonly also known as soda, soda pop, pop or tonic. While occasional consumption of these types of beverages may not cause any negative effects, drinking them on a regular basis is not healthy. Cutting back on the number of soft drinks you consume -- or eliminating them from your diet altogether -- is the best way to prevent associated health problems. Obesity Non-diet soft drinks contain high amounts of sugar which adds calories to the daily diet. Regular consumption of soft drinks has been linked to obesity in both adults and children. Soft drinks as well as energy or sports drinks, sweetened teas, fruit juices and other high-calorie beverages, can lead to increased body mass index as well. Obesity and a high body mass index are risk factors for many chronic health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and some forms of cancer. While still not a healthy alternative, substituting diet soda for regular soda will at least reduce caloric intake and can help to shed unwanted pounds. However, a better solution is to replace the soda, with calorie-free water and three servings of low-fat or fat-free milk per day. Diabetes According to an article published in 2005 by "American Academy of Family Physicians," consuming soft drinks on a regular basis may also contribute to a higher risk of developing diabetes. The sweeteners and caramel coloring added to soft drinks, may decrease insulin sensitivity. When the body becomes less sensitive to insulin, blood glucose levels can rise and diabetes can occur. Unlike water or low-fat milk, soda does not leave the body feeling full. This means that drinking soda adds calories to the daily diet, but does not curb hunger, both of which can lead to ingesting too many calories. This, in turn, raises the risk of diabetes. Sponsored Links Heart Disease Since drinking soda adds sugar and calories to the diet, it may also raise the risk of developing metabolic syndrome, which raises the risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metabolic syndrome is diagnosed when waist size is greater than or equal to 35 inches for women or 40 inches for men, when fasting blood glucose level is100 mg/dL or higher, when triglyceride levels are 150 mg/dL or higher and when blood pressure is greater than or equal to 135/85 mmHg. Having levels of beneficial cholesterol, called high density lipoproteins or HDL, that are below 40mg/dL for men or 50 mg/dL for women, is another diagnosing factor. It is also important to note that diet soft drinks also appear to contribute to this problem. This is because those who drink soda of any kind tend to eat an unhealthy diet that is high in fat and calories. Tooth Decay Ingesting sugar can contribute to tooth decay because acid is produced when bacteria enters the mouth and mixes with sugar. When the acid attacks the teeth for 20 minutes or more and causes plaque buildup on the teeth and gums, it leads to tooth decay. While it is not necessary to cut out consumption of naturally occurring sugars from healthy foods such as dairy products, fruits and vegetables, it is important to limit intake of processed sugary foods, such as soda, that do not provide any nutritional value. Solution Given the calorie and sugar content of soda, it is best to cut it out of the diet completely. A can or two of diet soda a day may not be harmful to health. Other than that, go for plain water, sparkling water or water with cranberry or lemon added to it for a healthier choice. Sponsored Links

This amount of sugar, especially in liquid form, skyrockets the blood sugar and causes an insulin reaction in the body. Over time, this can lead to diabetes or insulin resistance, not to mention weight gain and other health problems. Soft drink companies are the largest user of sugar in the country. Phosphoric Acid -Soda contains phosphoric acid, which interferes with the body’s ability to absorb calcium and can lead to osteoporosis, cavities and bone softening. Phosphoric Acid also interacts with stomach acid, slowing digestion and blocking nutrient absorption. Artificial Sweeteners– In diet sodas, aspartame is used as a substitute for sugar, and can actually be more harmful. It has been linked to almost a hundred different health problems including seizures, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, diabetes, and emotional disorders. It converts to methanol at warm temperatures and methanol breaks down to formaldehyde and formic acid. Diet sodas also increase the risk of metabolic syndrome, which causes belly fat, high blood sugar and raised cholesterol. Caffeine– Most sodas contain caffeine, which has been linked to certain cancers, breast lumps, irregular heart beat, high blood pressure, and other problems. The Water– The water used in soda is just simple tap water and can contain chemicals like chlorine, fluoride and traces of heavy metals. Obesity– Harvard researchers have recently positively linked soft drinks to obesity. The study found that 12 year olds who drank soda were more likely to be obese than those who didn’t, and for each serving of soda consumed daily, the risk of obesity increased 1.6 times. Extra Fructose– Sodas contain High Fructose Corn Syrup, which obviously comes from corn. Most of this corn has been genetically modified, and there are no long term studies showing the safety of genetically modified crops, as genetic modification of crops has only been around since the 1990s. Also, the process of making High Fructose Corn Syrup involves traces of mercury, which causes a variety of long term health problems. Lack of Nutrients– There is absolutely no nutritional value in soda whatsoever. Not only are there many harmful effects of soda, but there are not even any positive benefits to outweigh them. Soda is an unnatural substance that harms the body. Dehydration– Because of the high sugar, sodium and caffeine content in soda, it dehydrates the body and over a long period of time can cause chronic dehydration. Bad for the teeth– Drinking soda regularly causes plaque to build up on the teeth and can lead to cavities and gum disease. 03:27
http://www.coryshumaker.com CoryShu on Twitter Negative Effects of Soda High Fructose Corn Syrup • "Drinking high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), the main ingredient in most soft drinks throughout the world, increases your triglyceride levels and your LDL (bad) cholesterol." • "...it is metabolized to fat in your body far more rapidly than any other sugar" • HFCS has been directly linked to Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome. Very High Phosphorus & Zero Calcium • "When phosphate levels are high and calcium levels are low, calcium is pulled out of the bones." • Each soda has substantial amounts of phosphoric acid; in an experiment, human teeth began to dissolve when put in a cola beverage. • Acidity of soda is the same as vinegar. • "Tooth loss and gingivitis can be problems, especially with a high phosphorus intake" • "Phosphoric acid infiltrates bodily fluids and corrodes stomach linings, it upsets the alkaline-acid balance of the kidneys, and eats away at your liver" Aspartame • AKA: Equal, Splenda, and other artificial sweeteners. • Used as a sweetener in all diet sodas. • The aspartame is broken down into methanol when ingested and goes into the blood stream. • "Each diet soda with aspartame produces about 20 mg of methanol. The methanol breaks down further into 6 mg of formaldehyde which is three times the daily EPA limit. It's 30 times the limit in New Jersey, 100 times the limit in California, and 300 times the limit in Maryland." Obesity • "...researchers calculate that for each additional soda consumed, the risk of obesity increases 1.6 times." • "One soft drink a day gives children a 60% greater chance of becoming obese." • "Each daily drink added .18 points to a child's body mass index (BMI)." Summary • High Fructose Corn Syrup • High in phosphoric acid, low in calcium • Aspartame breaks down into formaldehyde • Obesity

Massive 10-Year Study Has Linked Diet Soda To Heart Attacks And Stroke

05:38
Massive 10-Year Study Has Linked Diet Soda To Heart Attacks And Stroke So you’ve decided to take control of your diet and try and live a healthier life, but you just can’t resist soda. In your mind, you rationalize the decision and decide that you can keep drinking it as long as you switch to diet soda instead. It’s a choice that millions of people make every year, as the clever marketing departments of large soda companies convince us that switching to diet is a perfectly healthy alternative. The reality is that these claims are simply untrue! Most soda manufacturers use an artificial sweetener, called aspartame, to replace sugar. A new study carried out by the University of Iowa has shown that this chemical is linked to an increased likelihood of heart disease. Dangers of Drinking Diet Soda: The study, headed up by Dr. Ankur Vyas, was one of the most comprehensive of its type with nearly 60,000 women participating over nine years. Known as the Women’s Health Initiative Observational Study, the research found that participants who drank two or more cans of diet soda a day were 30% more likely to have a cardiovascular event (e.g. heart attack) and 50% more likely to die of a heart-related disease than someone who drank none. ‘This is one of the largest studies on this topic, and our findings are consistent with some previous data, especially those linking diet drinks to the metabolic syndrome', said Vyas. Given the scale of the study and the fact that approximately one in five people in the United States consume diet drinks on a daily basis, the results could prove to be hugely significant to overall public health. The 59,614 participants were split into four groups by the research team: two or more diet drinks a day, five to seven diet drinks per week, one to four diet drinks per week, and zero to three diet drinks per month. After nearly nine years the health records of each woman was analyzed and the results were that coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure, heart attack, coronary revascularization procedure, ischemic stroke, peripheral arterial disease, and cardiovascular death, occurred in 8.5% of the women consuming two or more diet drinks a day compared to 6.9% in the five-to-seven diet drinks per week group; 6.8% in the one-to-four drinks per week group; and 7.2% in the zero-to-three per month group. The results, on the surface, didn’t appear to fit the hypothesis that aspartame was one of the leading causes of heart disease. However, the records showed that alongside the slightly higher rate of heart-related health issues, the women in the two or more a day group were, on average, significantly younger than the women in the other groups, meaning the diet sodas were causing health issues at an accelerated rate. The women in this group also had the highest average BMIs, the highest rate of diabetes and highest average blood pressure. Despite the scale of the study, no official conclusion can be drawn but the initial signs are worrying. ‘Based on these and other findings we have a responsibility to do more research to see what is going on and further define the relationship,’ Vyas explained. ‘This could have major public health implications. Several more research projects have been commissioned since the publication of the University of Iowa’s results, in order to deduce the scale of the issues that aspartame can cause. However, the advice in the meantime is to cut out soda drinks from your daily life and, even if you do occasionally indulge, regular soda is actually better for you than the diet variety. The money pumped into making diet soda appear as a healthy alternative is further proof that many large companies are far more concerned with lining their pockets than benefitting their consumers. When it comes to the things you eat and drink, make sure you know exactly what you are putting into your body. https://youtu.be/9Y9gg5JQ9rI

Diet Soda Causes Surprising Side Effects

01:48
Check out 5 surprising side effects of drinking diet soda. Here are 5 side effects of diet soda according to prevention.com. Number 5 -- The low calorie drink may cause cell damage. Diet sodas contain preservatives that many standard carbonated beverages do not - sodium benzoate or potassium benzoate. According to Peter Piper, a professor at the University of Sheffield - "These chemicals have the ability to cause severe damage to DNA in the mitochondria to the point that they totally inactivate it - they knock it out altogether." Number 4 - A good metabolism is nothing to take for granted. Research conducted in 2008 studied nearly 10,000 people. The scientists found that just consuming one diet soda a day puts you at a 34% higher risk of metabolic syndrome which is linked to excess belly fat and high cholesterol. Number 3 -- Researchers at Harvard Medical School have spent more than a decade studying the effects of diet soda on the kidneys. The scientists found that the drinks were related to significant chances of kidney function decline in women who drank more than two of these beverages per day. Number 2 -- You may not want to switch to diet soda if you're trying to lose weight. A study carried out by the University of Texas Health Science Center found that drinking two or more cans of diet soda per day actually increased waistlines. Another study by Purdue University suggested artificial sweeteners played a role in hindering the body's ability to regulate calorie intake. Number 1 -- If you wish to avoid a hangover, you may want to steer clear of diet soda. Alcoholic beverages which contain diet soda will get you drunk a lot quicker. An Australian based study revealed that sugar-free cocktails caused booze to enter a person's bloodstream faster than drink concoctions made with real sugar.

Controls blood glucose levels and with a balanced blood sugar level, you're much less likely to experience intense, hard-to-resist sugar cravings throughout the day (1,2) Lemon- Lemons contain a soluble fiber known as pectin that benefits the body’s detoxifying capabilities by regulating the body’s use of sugars and cholesterol; improves gut and digestive health Coffee With Stevia: Caffeine- Caffeine acts on the central nervous system and causes a release of the neurotransmitters dopamine and epinephrine - increases thermogenesis and fat oxidation. In one study, twelve healthy, normal weight men participated in a four-way crossover, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study. Treatments were administered as tablets of 500 mg Green Tea Extract, 400 mg tyrosine, 50 mg caffeine, or placebo. Results: Caffeine induced a thermogenic response of 6% above baseline compared to placebo and only caffeine was thermogenic in the given dose and caused no hemodynamic side effects Chlorogenic Acid (CGA)- Chlorogenic acid is a polyphenol antioxidant found in coffee - reduces blood glucose and insulin levels after a meal. Zevia- Zevia is an all-natural zero calorie soda made without artificial sweeteners, is non-GMO, kosher, gluten-free, vegan and contains no colors, dyes or phosphoric acid. Considered an all-natural alternative as it uses stevia, a herb from the sunflower family, as its sweetener and is up to 300x sweeter than sugar. Stevia- Lowers insulin and glucose due to its lack of metabolization - steviol glycosides pass through the upper gastrointestinal tract fully intact. Lowers Blood Pressure- One study from the journal Clinical Therapeutics conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 174 patients - patients took either 500 mg of stevioside or placebo, 3 times per day. After two years, the group taking stevioside: Systolic blood pressure went from 150 to 140 mmHg and Diastolic blood pressure went from 95 down to 89 mmHg. Iced Green Tea with Extra Ginseng: Ginseng- Study/ The International Wound Journal found that ginseng supplementation increased the growth of wound-healing cells (fibroblasts) and increased collagen synthesis in human dermal cells. *This Video does contain a paid promotion from Zevia. குளிர் பானங்கள் குடிப்பீர்களா? இதன் விளைவு! Cool Drinks Danger in Tamil

Heart Disease Since drinking soda adds sugar and calories to the diet, it may also raise the risk of developing metabolic syndrome, which raises the risk of a heart attack or stroke. This is because those who drink soda of any kind tend to eat an unhealthy diet that is high in fat and calories.

soda and health

soda health benefits The Sugar! – A single can of soda contains the equivalent of 10 teaspoons of sugar.

Vitamin B or Thiamine

02:32
Hi, I'm Dr. Jared Nielsen. I'd like to talk today about the importance of a vitamin called thiamine or B1. B1 is very, very important for liver function, especially for people who have a history of alcoholism. It's quickly depleted in the system and is essential for that person to be repleted, if you will, their B1 vitamin. There are a lot of people that don't think, "I am really an alcoholic or I don't really have a drinking problem." What's interesting is they'll start to manifest some of the symptomatology of B1 deficiency, peripheral neuropathies, sensitivity or hyper‑sensitivity in the legs and feet. These are very commonly overlapped with diabetics. Diabetics also would get that type of symptomatology as the liver becomes congested or a fatty infiltrated liver. When we look at blood labs, a lot patients will actually say, when we see cholesterol levels going up and triglyceride levels matching or even exceeding that they don't drink alcohol. What we see a lot of times is that they're chronic soda pop abusers. Without naming specifically different brands or types of soda drinks, what we find is people who have a daily soda pop actually will start to also have fatty infiltrated livers and their thiamine levels can start to go down. Equally is important is when we have patients that have eating disorders that begin to experience metallic taste in their mouth is associated with the gall bladder but it also as an indication of thiamine or B1 deficiency... http://thenielsenclinic.com/videos/vitamin-b-or-thiamine

Justin's HIV Journal HIV & High Cholesterol

09:39
People who take certain HIV medications often get high cholesterol as a side effect of the drugs. Recently my doctor told me that I have high cholesterol. But is it a result of my drug regimen? I had been taking Reyataz, Norvir and Truvada, all of which have high cholesterol as a possible adverse effect. It could be my genes or my lifestyle--or even a combination. I may never really know. But since high cholesterol increases your risk of having a heart attack or stroke, it's time for me to make some changes. Here Comes Trouble My average cholesterol is 234.1; the average of my doctor's patients is 185. My LDL, or "bad cholesterol," is 143.1, which is borderline high. My HDL, or "good" cholesterol, is 52, which is good. (To learn more about cholesterol levels, go here.) My triglycerides were also high. High cholesterol runs in my family. For years I have known that my dad has it. Over the holidays I learned that my mother does too. This double shot of high cholesterol means that I really have to be careful, especially since being male and of African American descent may increase my risk of heart disease also. Fortunately I don't smoke. Living for the Weekend Rather than immediately change my meds, which is complicated, my doctor decided that we'd first approach the problem by making lifestyle changes. There are two areas that I can take charge of on my own: eating and exercise. First I had to slow my cholesterol intake. Now that I'm 30, my body doesn't process foods at the same speed that it did when I was 19. This meant that I had to examine my food choices. During the week, my diet was relatively healthy. Here was my diet on a typical day: Breakfast: Ensure nutritional supplement Snack: ravoli Lunch: Quiznos sandwich, but sometimes McDonald's, pizza or buffalo wings Snack: banana Dinner: pasta, red meat or fish with rice, and wine, preferably red But the weekend was a whole different story: I love a good steak-and-eggs breakfast; I also eat a lot. Here is an example of a typical weekend day: Breakfast: pork bacon, ham, pancakes, biscuits, hash browns and maybe some grits (I also smothered foods with butter) Lunch: chips, pickles and soda Dinner: pizza, chicken wings with ranch sauce, or a steak with mashed potatoes Many of these foods are high in cholesterol (go here to learn more about foods to eat and foods to avoid). I also used a lot of condiments that were high in cholesterol. And I didn't work out much. Yet my waist is still a size 28--okay, 29--so until my doctor said something, I thought everything was okay. But I realized that I had to improve my eating habits, particularly on the weekend, and head to the gym. Given the choice between big steaks and a healthy life, to me the choice is clear. A Change of Plans So I've changed my eating habits. On a typical weekday I now eat: Breakfast: banana and a cinnamon-raisin bagel Snack: orange juice, an apple, water Lunch: club sandwich without bacon, iced green tea Snack: crackers Dinner: baked fish, greens, rice and wine, preferably red And on weekends I now eat: Breakfast: pancakes, muffin with honey, turkey bacon Lunch: tuna fish sandwich with mayonnaise Dinner: catfish, rice, couscous and wine I also take one multivitamin, fish oil to protect against heart disease, and vitamin D because my doctor has noticed in some of his patients who take it that their T-cell, or CD4, counts have gone up. This is on top of the three HIV meds (six pills) I take every day. And I've started hitting the gym three times a week to lift free weights. On my off days, I try to run at least one mile. Just because people look fit on the outside doesn't mean they're fit on the inside. And I may only be 30, with a 29 waist, but I have more than just HIV to worry about.

The Proper Diet for a Healthy Heart

05:54
Dr. James O'Keefe, Preventive Cardiologist with Cardiovascular Consultants of the St. Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, explains the proper diet for preventing Coronary Heart Disease, and the scientific data that proves it works. Today we live in a society of chronic over abundance. This is when we must rely on a diet that includes natural food, which we are designed to eat. This heart healthy diet includes many fruits and vegetables. The average American eats over 70 kg of sugar each year, our bodies were not designed to intake any sugar. When we eat sugar at the current rate we do, our bodies aren't be able to run correctly. It is important that we include a full nine servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Fruits and vegetables will fill you up with a lot of fluid, fiber and calories, but not a lot of calories. Supplements, while convenient, don't do the same thing for you as eating the individual apple or orange. Another part of the diet you must think about is what you're drinking each day. Soda pop is the worst beverage you can drink; it is full of high-fructose corn syrup and can distort your metabolic mileu and hormones. Even diet soda is not very good for you. Water is the most important beverage your can consume, about eight glasses each day. Other great beverages include teas and coffees, which are high in antioxidants behavior and low in calories. Finally, it is important that you make sure you are getting enough protein. Make sure you are eating meat that is high in protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and monounsaturated fat while being low in saturated fat and lacking salt, hormones and other preservatives we have been known to put in our meats. It has to be lean, clean protein and it is necessary at least three times per day. Breakfast is the most important time to have protein because it will keep you going all day. Whey protein is another alternative to eating meat. It is great for you and your body will thrive on it. For more information go to www.cardiotabs.com

Kidney Treatment We must learn to love/connect with every part of our physical anatomy including our kidneys. By connecting with your self you will ultimately develop a relationship with your organs and begin noticing when your organs are speaking to you/sending you messages. (Very Important) The Kidneys produce and eliminate urine through a complex filtration network and reabsorption system comprising more than 2 million nephrons. The nephrons are composed of glomeruli and renal tubles that filter blood under high pressure, removing, salts, and other soluble wastes from the plasma and returning the purified filtrate to the blood. More than 2500 pints of blood pass through the kidneys every day, entering the Kidneys through the renal arteries and leaving through the renal veins. All the blood in the body passes through the kidneys about 20 times every hour but only about one fifth of the plasma is filtered by the nephrons during that period. The Kidneys remove water as urine and return water that has been filtered to the blood plasma, thus helping to maintain the water balance of the body. Hormones, especially the antidiuretic hormone (ADH), produced by the pituitary gland, control the function of the kidneys in regulating the water content of the body. ADH reaches the renal tubules in the blood and stimulates the reabsorption of water from the filtrate into the blood. If water intake is inadequate to compensate for the water lost in perspiration and in respiration, the change in concentration in the blood is detected by the brain and the pituitary gland releases more ADH, thus reducing the loss of water in the urine. If the blood is too dilute, the pituitary gland reduces the secretion of ADH, producing a large flow of dilute urine to restore the water balance. The Kidneys need to be cleansed periodically due to all the harm the Kidneys are taking from the host body. Consumption of acidic, caustic, and corrosive causing products such as MEAT (animal flesh), DAIRY PRODUCTS, SUGAR, SALT, ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, COFFEE, SODA POP BEVERAGES, and a host of other things. Too much acid in the Kidneys causes Kidney disease and can lead to Kidney failure and ultimately death. Too much acid from an excessively acidic diet can cause a host of problems for the Kidneys including infectious, inflammatory, obstructive, vascular, and neoplastic disorders of the kidneys. Severe pain in the kidneys can denote obstruction by a kidney stone; blood in the urine may denote renal carcinoma, proteinuria is generally a of disease in the glomerulus,or filtration unit of the kidneys; pyuria indicates infectious disease; and edema is characteristic of the nephritic syndrome. When there is an inability of the kidneys to excrete wastes, concentrate urine, and conversely electrolyes, the condition is medically referred to as kidney or renal failure. Whether you are currently suffering from or dealing with an adverse Kidney challenge or not, you need to cleanse your Kidneys at least once a year.
