Couple survives 7 day water fast and plan to continue! No food or drinks except water for 14 days! Farm Girl and Exoman on the 7th day of their water fast discuss their experience so far. No food, no juice, no nothin! They explain that the purpose of the experiment is not weight loss as much as it is healing and detoxing the body. Through research they have come to understand that it is possible to heal many health conditions, diseases and other ailments as well as ridding the body of a buildup of toxins. They have learned that early in the fast, the body will go into ketosis and the burning of glycogen ceases. The body then begins burning fat, toxins and inessential proteins including excess tissue and diseased tissues such as cancers and tumors. Yes of course there are many naysayers and critics attacking including uneducated and educated medical professionals who say that water or intermittent fasting can have devastating or even deadly consequences. These same people should be more concerned about billions of people around the globe cramming deadly amounts of dangerous foods into their bodies. Farm Girl and Exoman have found no conclusive evidence or studies to show that this kind of fasting is detrimental except for emaciated people or those people with very specific critical health issues. As far as fat loss, the couple expects to see dramatic inch-loss results. If you are asking, "does water fasting heal disease", the answer is yes! "Is water fasting safe" yes, for most people. "Is water fasting dangerous?" It can be if done wrong and breaking the fast is the most important part to get right. Many people say that only dieting and exercise will create weight loss but calorie restriction slows your metabolism whereas water fasting does not slow metabolism to the same extent, because your metabolism switches from burning glycogen stores to burning adipose tissue and unnecessary proteins for fuel. Dr. Berg talks about the link between high blood pressure and insulin resistance. Insulin resistances, which is high insulin stiffens your arteries, disrupts the endothelial layer of your arteries, which start the hardening of the arteries as well as the cascade effect of cholesterol and calcium to accumulate in the arteries. High insulin (insulin resistance) creates inflammation in the arteries. This condition also causes sodium retention and a loss of potassium because insulin is necessary to allow this mineral in the cell. Diuretics also have a side-effect of causing insulin resistance. The treatment of hypertension is mainly medications because we are told that there is no cure, only treatment. The pathophysiology is in reality a disruption of the artery wall creating vasoconstriction, stiffness and less elasticity. The additional symptom of hypertension is headaches and a risk for stroke and heart attack. The home remedies involve actions to lower insulin - cutting out sugar, adding vegetables to get your potassium and even apple cider vinegar can help. As a general guide: High blood pressure is considered to be 140/90mmHg or higher (or an average of 135/85mmHg at home) Ideal blood pressure is considered to be between 90/60mmHg and 120/80mmHg Low blood pressure is considered to be 90/60mmHg or lower. A blood pressure reading between 120/80mmHg and 140/90mmHg could mean you're at risk of developing high blood pressure if you don't take steps to keep your blood pressure under control. HOW TO PREVENT HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE: High blood pressure can often be prevented or reduced by eating healthily, maintaining a healthy weight, taking regular exercise, drinking alcohol in moderation and not smoking. Welcome to my channel where we bring you insightful, fun and educational videos on all things pertaining to health In This video I am going to talk about how fasting can reduce blood pressure. In my practice I have seen several of my patients reduce their blood pressure through a combination of intermittent fasting and water fasting on a regular bases. I am going to go over 2 research articles supporting using fasting to lower blood pressure and then at the end of my video will go over one benefit of calorie restriction on cardiovascular health. So make sure to stay till the end of this video. The first study was done with 110 patients which consist with an average weight of 290 + pounds who were hospitalized for three weeks for the treatment of extreme obesity with the fasting diet. The patients were evaluated several times for changes in blood pressure, lipid profile, as well as glucose and insulin levels. The results of the study showed decrease in cholesterol levels, normal glucose tolerance levels in 88% of the patients and blood pressure decreased on average 11 + points systolic and 7+ points diastolic. Also their weight decreased on average 30 pounds. This second study is similar to the first but with greater results. It had 174 hypertension patients go through a pre-prep diet before a long 10-11 day water fast. The results was almost 90% of the patients had reduction in blood pressure by 37/13 mm Hg points and stage 3 hypertension cases had blood pressure reduction on average of 60/17 mm Hg points. Patients also on hypertensive medications were all successful coming off them during and after the study. The last study I am going to talk about has to do with calorie restriction benefiting lowering your chances of getting atherosclerosis and Heart disease. Within this study patients were fed 1100-1900 calories compared to the other group consuming 2000-3500 calories. They found that the group that consumed lesser calories had lower cholesterol, triglycerides which put them in the ultra healthy level of the top 5th percentile of 20 year olds as well as 40% less carotid wall thickness Wow this is amazing! You can see there is some profound effects of fasting when it comes to cardiovascular health. If you ever thought of doing a fast talk to your doctor first to see if you can benefit from it. Well.... at least not until you watch this video because today I'm giving away the top 5 ways that will allow you to burn fat faster while fasting. If you've already tried intermittent fasting and you did it correctly you've probably already noticed some great results. You probably lost some body fat, maybe lost a few pounds off the scale, and you've become more productive in the process.... which is all great. But I know if you could double or triple your results without spending more time in the gym or in the kitchen you would be more than happy to learn how. Am I right? ....I think i'm right. So let's get started with the very first trick... When you break your fast, during your feeding window you want to stick to foods that don't spike your blood sugar, and more importantly don't spike your insulin levels. Insulin is a fat storage hormone that serves as a bridge between your cells and the nutrients coming into your body. Your body will also stop burning fat when insulin levels are elevated. When we fast we are not just looking to lower calories by not eating, even though fasting will definitely do this the main goal of fasting for fat loss is to decrease insulin levels. And there really is no better solution for doing just that, when you simply don't eat your bodies insulin levels are naturally at their lowest. However, what most people don't realize is that even if you fast perfectly, once you break your fast you can spike your blood sugar and insulin levels high enough to cause your body to actually store fat rather than burn it. So if you want to burn fat at the fastest rate the goal has to be to keep your insulin levels low even after breaking your fast. We can do that by understanding some basic principles and then making a decision on what to eat during your feeding window around those key concepts. First let's get the obvious out of the way.... sweets, processed foods, and junk food will spike your insulin levels the highest while providing the lowest amount of nutrients. So if you want to burn fat faster after breaking your fast stick only to real wholesome single ingredient foods. Most of these foods you'll find by sticking to the outside aisles of your local grocery store or supermarket while avoiding the inner aisles. Next you have to know that carbohydrates have the biggest impact on your insulin levels, certain types of dairy have equally as big of an impact, other sources of protein have a moderate impact, and fat has the smallest impact. By not overindulging in carbohydrates and dairy after breaking your fast you'll already be miles ahead of most people. Since fasting is supposed to be a flexible dieting structure, I don't want you to restrict your carbs or dairy to nothing. In fact by doing that it'll probably make you want to have them even more. Instead I want you to break your fast with a large serving of vegetables in order to fill your stomach up and take the edge off your hunger. Then move on to your protein & fat sources, and then if you're still hungry you can move on to some low glycemic carbohydrates & dairy. This will allow you to limit your insulin spikes during your feeding window without actually thinking about it & without restrictions. Let's move on to the second way to burn fat faster that goes hand in hand with the first tip we just went over. I'm talking about keto fasting. Keto fasting is a combination of the ketogenic diet & fasting. This will make your diet a little less flexible because you will have to adhere to a certrain macronutrient split, but it's an incredibly effective way to speed up the amount of fat lost from fasting. Here you would start by setting up a regular intermittent fasting & feeding window. An common example would be to break your fast at 1 o clock & then switch back to fasting at 9 o clock. But during that 8 hour feeding window, with this method you'll actually want to keep your carbohydrate consumption under only 5 to 10 percent of your total daily caloric intake. This means no grains, no starchy veggies, & only berries for your fruit.
