But sometimes, weight gain is caused by hormonal imbalance and pretty difficult to resolve. In this case, you should use a different approach. The food we eat has a direct impact on our hormones. And, one of the major factors for being overweight, is the stress hormone cortisol. Let's learn a simple 4-step approach, which will activate your fat-burning hormones, and help you lose weight with no side-effects. Step #1. A tight eating schedule. One of the major factors for losing weight, is to not eat after 7 PM. Your last meal should be at 4, or, 5 PM. You will help your body burn more fat by eating 3 small meals, or, 2 meals and a salad for dinner. Soft drinks are highly forbidden as is alcohol. Drink plenty of herbal teas and lemon water. Skipping meals is forbidden as well. You can go for early dinner, or late breakfast, but never skip a meal. Make sure the meals are homecooked, and always eat slowly, stopping when you’re feeling full. Step #2. Cut the sugar out from your diet. If you’re eating cookies, processed food, and starchy vegetables often, and drinking too much alcohol every day, you’re probably taking in too much sugar. These foods are rich in sugar and carbs, which can provide an energy boost. But, the body will use it, instead of burning your fat reserves, resulting in weight gain. Step #3. Light weight training As we mentioned at the beginning, if you want to lose weight, you need to start exercising as well. Experts recommend being physically active for at least half an hour every day. And light weight exercise is the ideal way of losing weight. This training will melt your fat reserves, and help you build new muscles. Start with a 10-minute cardio exercise, then go for some weight training. We suggest a few sets of each exercise, with a few minutes pause in between. Make sure to do the exercises until you feel your muscles strain. Step #4. Change your diet. You must start eating vegetables such as, beans, and greens more often. They are full of fiber, which will improve your digestion, and help you lose weight. You can eat veggies any way you like, fresh, boiled, steamed, or, made into a salad. Juicing fruit and vegetables is a great way of intaking essential nutrients. People who are suffering from high blood sugar levels can try juicing parsley, celery, kale, and spinach. If you’re looking to add more protein in your diet, you can go with cauliflower, asparagus, or, string beans. You can sweeten the juices up with some apples, carrots, and beats. and adding 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds in, will substitute a meal. When trying to lose weight, it’s best to substitute all animal protein with vegetable protein that can be found in legumes. Replace the butter with coconut oil, and the sunflower oil with olive oil. I need your advice on how to safely lose weight while pregnant. The first thing to do is to not sit down on the couch eating a carton of ice cream to celebrate. The second thing to do is realize you are eating for one point one people, not two, and not use the pregnancy as an excuse to pig out. Despite the increased hunger. Another thing to keep in mind in that you cannot safely go on a crash diet to try to lose twenty pounds, even if the doctor says you need to lose weight for health reasons. I could not keep it off after getting into the dress for my high school reunion, and now I have a new excuse for the expanding waistline. You should focus on more activity without getting your heart rate too high to burn off energy, despite the fatigue that makes you want to stay off your feet. I already have swollen ankles in addition to the swelling stomach. Drink more water and less caffeine, and stay away from coffee and energy drinks; that’ll fight water weight gain that makes you puff up more than you have to. Would I actually lose weight losing water weight? If it is bad, you could lose a few pounds – but stay away from diuretic and water weight loss pills, since that’s dangerous when pregnant. So is almost everything else these days. A better choice is limiting sugar and simple carbohydrates, which cause blood sugar fluctuations. You reduce your odds of developing prenatal diabetes and satisfy your hunger better if eating more protein and some fats. And if I do not feel like I’m starving, I won’t eat as much. But the doctor suggested saltine crackers to control morning sickness. So eat whole grain crackers instead, since you need the fiber anyway.

But what exactly would happen to your body once you cut it out? We looked to science, and here six things you could probably expect: 1) Your skin will look better. The link between diet and acne has been long debated but the latest research suggests that it’s very much present. It isn’t just dairy that can contribute to a bad complexion. Sugary foods are a major culprit too. An overview of studies in 2013 found that high GI foods – which include fizzy drinks, pastries, cakes, and chocolate – have a direct impact on the severity of acne. This is because they absorb into the bloodstream quickly causing a fluctuation of hormones, including insulin, thought to instigate oily secretions (called sebum) that lead to spots. 2) You Look younger. Eating a lot of sugar can have an aging effect, it turns out. A study by Leiden University found that those aged between 50 and 70 who had a high level of glucose in their blood consistently looked older than people whose blood sugar level was lower. Diuretics are sometimes called ‘water tablets’ and are designed to increase the amount of water and salt expelled from the body as urine (termed diuresis) They help get rid of excess fluid by removing sodium and chloride from the body in the urine - the sodium and chloride in turn draw excess water from the body. Too much salt can cause extra fluid to build up in your blood vessels, raising your blood pressure. There are different types of prescribed diuretics acting on different levels of a nephron (the smallest unit of kidney) The basic mechanism seen in most of them is that they act on pumps of a nephron, which means that they decrease the absorption of sodium from urine, and thus more water remains in the urine. (1) Use of Diuretics: Doctors prescribe diuretics when the body is retaining too much fluid. The following conditions may require the regulation of fluid in the body or result in fluid retention: High blood pressure, congestive heart failure, kidney dysfunction, edema (tissue swelling, such as in swollen legs and feet) Diuretics lower your blood pressure by flushing salt out of your body, which causes the walls of your blood vessel to relax and widen - easier for your blood to flow through. Congestive heart failure keeps your heart from pumping blood effectively throughout your body: this leads to a buildup of fluids in your body, which is called edema. Diuretics help reduce this fluid buildup. Prescription diuretics may cause some side effects. These include fatigue, muscle cramps, lightheadedness, rash, and headaches. (1,2,3) Natural Diuretics: Some herbs and dietary supplements have diuretic properties that may be helpful to you and won’t provide any negative side effects. Asparagus: It contains high levels of the amino acid asparagine, which serves as a natural diuretic, and increased urination not only releases fluid but helps rid the body of excess salts. Asparagine also benefits our central nervous system by helping with the maintenance of balance or equilibrium – keeps you from being overly calm or nervous. Also essential for the proper functioning and health of our nerves and other cells of the body, It controls their metabolism in the brain. Dandelion Leaves: Full of vitamins A, B, C, and D, as well as minerals, such as iron, potassium, and zinc. Dandelion leaves are used to add flavor to salads, sandwiches, and teas. Dandelion leaves act as a diuretic, increasing the amount of urine your body makes. The leaves are used to stimulate the appetite and help digestion. Dandelion flower has antioxidant properties. In one study (Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine) dandelion leaves were ingested by volunteers to investigate whether an increased urinary frequency and volume would result. Volume of urinary output and fluid intake were recorded by subjects. For the entire population, 17 subjects, there was a significant increase (5%) in the frequency of urination in just 5 hours after the first dose. You can find dandelion herbs and roots fresh or dried in a variety of forms, including tinctures, liquid extract, teas, tablets, and capsules (4) Parsley: Parsley is one of the best natural diuretics for edema treatment and fluid retention. Parsley increases urine output by acting as an aquaretic, meaning it acts to increase water excretion from the body without affecting electrolytes such as sodium and potassium the way most conventional diuretic drugs do. Parsley’s effect on your body’s electrolytes is largely neutral. Parsley herb extracts have been studied as natural diuretics in combination with another aquaretic, asparagus.
