Now that you've lost weight, the hanging pouch around your stomach, together with the extra skin on your back, butt and hips, are all preventing you from achieving the body you dream of. But don't get discouraged yet; with this video you'll learn the reasons why your skin is loose, plus some great tactics and strategies to make it tighten again around your body as quickly as possible. The first thing you have to know is that skin is actually a living organ, which changes and adapts constantly, and whose cells are being created and eliminated non-stop. The skin layers that are located immediately below the surface (the dermis and epidermis) are composed of an elastic tissue. When a person loses considerable weight in a short period of time, the skin's elastic capacity cannot tighten around the new body fast enough. Highly restrictive diets worsen the condition, because a lot of muscle is lost besides fat, increasing the amount of skin left hanging. Depending on how much weight you've lost, the complete readjustment process can take up to 2 years. But you need not worry, if you apply what you learn in this video, you'll tighten your saggy-looking skin in much less time and without it affecting your health. There are 2 important factors you should take into account to make your skin tighten around your new figure as fast as possible. The first is "tighten the skin from within", and the second, "tighten the skin from the outside". I'll now explain each one in detail, and I'll also give you a few simple ways of putting these concepts into practice Factor #1: "Tighten the skin from within" I know this concept may sound a bit weird; what it's meant to cover are diet, hydration and muscle mass. Diet: You should know that collagen and elastin are two of the skin's essential components; they determine its elasticity and firmness. An unbalanced diet can lead to shortage of either of these components in your skin, making it look saggy as a result. Vitamin C and zinc are fundamental for collagen and elastin production. A correct intake of these two nutrients will make lose skin go away quicker. Some foods that are high in them are: red bell peppers, parsley, kiwis, broccoli, oysters, liver and whole eggs. Many people find it difficult to incorporate the daily required amount of vitamin C and zinc into their diets. In such cases, buying supplements is a good alternative to avoid nutrient deficiencies. Increase the amount of high protein foods you eat; they are rich in collagen and other amino acids that promote the skin's health and elasticity. Some protein-rich foods are: eggs, dried fruit, fish, and red meat, among others. Needless to say, you must eliminate junk food from your diet; not only it doesn't provide any nutrients, but it will also make the task of regaining your skin's elasticity much harder. Factor #2: "Tighten the skin from the outside" Skin elasticity depends a lot on external influences as well. For example, certain soaps can drastically reduce the skin's strength, while other creams and products will go a long way in making your loose skin tighten again quickly and easily. While you may use creams to help tighten your skin, you have to make sure they have been made from natural ingredients, and are rich in collagen, retinol, and Vitamins A, E and C. These ingredients are designed to increase collagen and elastin skin levels. Use exfoliants as well, they help eliminate dead skin cells and improve circulation; which lead to healthier and firmer looking skin. Avoid soaps that contain sulfate (SLS) that dry up the skin and make it lose its elasticity. Look for milder, better-quality soaps. If you swim regularly, try to take a shower immediately after; chlorine also tends to dry the skin. In this video, you'll learn how to get rid of loose skin after weight loss and what solutions you have available backed by research. So what do you do when you lose a lot of weight successfully, and at the end of the journey you end up with the problem of excess skin? First off, it's important to point out that loose or excess skin isn't always the real issue. There are definitely real cases of excess skin after losing 50 - 150 lbs of weight very fast (as I've experienced that with clients who drop 50-60 lbs in 6 months) but in many cases, there's just more body fat that needs to be burnt off. Skin elasticity also changes over time, and it largely depends on your age and genetics. There's a hypothesis that some types of fat stores are harder to burn than others. And that these "stubborn" fat stores are harder to mobilize. The areas often talked about are lower abs, lower back, hips, and glutes. Of course, we know that "spot reduction" is a myth. You can't magically target any area of your body with a special diet or training method that would allow just that one area to get leaner. So at the end of the day, to get rid of this last bit of subcutaneous body fat in the "stubborn" areas you'll need patience and of course stay in a calorie deficit. Keep in mind, the less body fat you have, the more "protective" your body is the fat, and since there's less fat to mobilize there's a higher chance of muscle loss. For this reason, it's recommended to lose about 0.5% or loss of your bodyweight per week if you're already fairly lean (you see your abs) and you're looking to get even leaner. Recommended reading on the topic of "stubborn" body fat: The Stubborn Fat Solution by Lyle McDonald Solution 1 - Skin Surgery (The last resort) I personally wouldn't consider surgery as an option until I've exhausted all other options. Only at a point of real 8-10% body fat (for guys) do your subcutaneous fat levels become low enough to determine if you have excess skin. Sometimes just getting leaner you will solve the entire problem. However, if you get to a very low body fat 7 - 10% and you find that your skin is very thin while there's a lot of skin left on your abdominal area then you're dealing with excess skin. Often people jump to surgeries due to impatience with dieting and staying in a calorie deficit. I personally recommend exhausting all other options before surgery. Solution 2 - Lose Weight at a Slower Rate By taking a slower and controlled approach, you'll give your skin more time to adjust to a new size. It might sound discouraging to think about losing 1 lbs per week when you have 50-60 pounds to lose (1 whole year of dieting), but sometimes it's the best option for the future. Patience is key here, and by taking the longer more sustainable approach, you'll also have more time to build habits and create a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. Solution 3 - Build More Lean Muscle Mass Muscle will press up against your skin and make it tighter. It's a similar effect as when you gain weight. Your skin has to adjust to accommodate the increase in size. A good example of what happens when you don't invest time in building muscle is if you look at people who go on very aggressive low-calorie diets with a large amount of cardio and no resistance training. Often time, the result is turning from fat to skinny fat. Getting stronger and building muscle through resistance training is the solution to get that healthy, lean body that you want. This applies both to people that have already lost a ton of weight and those that are just starting out. The truth is, without resistance training, you'll not be able to get that desired physique. Solution 3 - Lifestyle and Nutrition changes - Drink plenty of water https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3U-5AcjuBU - Get plenty of sleep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oce0_CvRaSY - Eat enough protein. There's some researching showing benefits of higher protein for skin health. - Get 4-5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. Research has shown that higher intakes of fruits and vegetables are associated with healthier skin. - Supplement Omega 3 Fish Oil if you're not consuming fish on a regular basis. - Supplement Vitamin D if you're not able to get out in the sun at least 20 minutes on a daily basis. And lastly, don't let the "detox" gurus and marketers trick you into believing that there's a quick fix for loose skin. Getting rid of excess skin takes time and patience, there's no magic pill solution that will get rid of this issue overnight. First you have to understand that there are a couple factors that determine how well or how fast your skin can bounce back after losing a lot of weight. Genetics as usual will play a big role in determining how well your skin adjusts. How fast your skin got stretched in the first place, so how fast you gained weight is very important too. If you gained a ton of weight incredibly fast chances are that your skin will have a harder time returning back to its original shape. Another factor is how long you carried the extra weight. If you were pregnant, gained some weight for a couple of months, and lost it right after, your skin may be completely fine. However, if you carried this weight for years you may not be so lucky. The last factor is your age. The older that you get the less elastic your skin will become. Regardless of your particular situation there are things that you can do to help tighten up your skin and have less of that saggy look. First before you do anything for your skin you want to make sure that your body fat percentage is low enough. Many people that still have more body fat to lose, immediately assume that their excess body fat is excess skin. A good body fat percentage for men is 14-17% and for women a good range is 21 - 24% When you know your body fat percentage is low enough, and what you are dealing with is actually loose skin, one of the number one ways to tighten up is by building more muscle. When you lose a lot of weight chances are high that you will lose some muscle mass as well. If there's little muscle mass under the skin the skin will look flabby and unshapely. So start weight training if you already have loose skin, and if you're in the process of losing weight, it would be a good idea to weight train the whole way through, as it could really help your skin look tighter at the end of your weight loss transformation. Supplementing during and after losing weight can help. Supplement with vitamin c, omega 3, zinc, and collagen, collagen helps make skin more elastic. Even though your body naturally produces collagen as we age collagen levels will decrease. Drinking a lot of water can really help with skin health as well. Try to aim for at least a gallon per day. Body wraps for loose skin = waste of time and complete scam. There are certain lotions and soaps that you can get that can be very useful for restoring the proper elasticity of your skin. Make sure that when you are buying lotion that it contains Collagen, retinol, and vitamins a, e and c. Keep in mind that these lotions may help, but I'm not so sure that they are scientifically verified. Avoid soaps that contain sulfate and also avoid chlorine on your skin as much as you can. Anything that will dry and damage the skin will wind up hurting the skins ability to bounce back. Chlorine will dry the skin, so if you swim in a chlorinated pool a lot make sure you take a shower immediately afterwords. Smoking is another no no. Smoking will not only harm your lunges, but it also decreases the skins elasticity. If you smoke all the time you wind up damaging the skin as it tries to repair itself and tighten up. Drinking alcohol is also not great for your skin to recover. The last resort after you've tried every thing else is obviously surgery. Remember to Be patient. You can lose over 100lbs and still have your skin return back to normal. However if you have a massive amount of skin left over surgery may be the only way. Before you start cutting and removing skin there are some non invasive procedures available. Fractional laser or radio frequency treatments are two options that you can talk to your dermatologist about.

Most people believe yes when you lose weight too fast you wind up with a bunch of excess skin and you increase the chances of gaining all the weight you lost back. But is this actually true? Today we'll look at how losing weight fast effects the amount of excess skin you end up with at the end of the process, but let's start first by figuring out if losing weight too fast negatively effects the amount of weight regain you regain. I mean is slow and steady weight loss actually better than losing weight at a faster pace when it comes to hitting your goals and maintaining your results for the long run. The most common held belief is that you should lose about 1 or 2 pounds per week. This maximum weight loss of 2 pounds per week is recommended by doctors, trainers, and dietitians, and anyone that goes outside of this standard recommendation of 1 or two pounds per week is looked down on because that kind of advice is believed to be ignorant and its believed to endanger the health and the long term success of the person looking to lose the weight. One of the most common concerns with fast weight loss is that it usually takes a huge amount of effort both with diet and exercise to lose weight fast which leads people to resort to unhealthy methods. Some people that try to lose weight as fast as possible attempt dangerous methods like crash diets, or they starve themselves, or they go from 0 to 100 with exercise and all of these approaches can be very unhealthy. Also you probably can't maintain and keep up with these excessive approaches to weight loss as permanent lifestyle changes. You can stick to a crash diet for a week, maybe two, maybe even a month, but by month 4 chances are high that you've long since quit. Most experts believe that when you lose weight slowly you do it through ways that allow you develop healthy eating behaviors that you can continue applying long term to keep the weight off. On the other hand we're told that most diets that promote rapid weight loss are often very low in calories and nutrients, which may put you at risk of many health problems, like muscle loss, nutritional deficiencies and gallstones, especially if you follow a rapid weight loss diet for a long time. Many people on a crash diet will also experience hunger, fatigue, muscle cramps, dizziness, and they might feel cold throughout the day. On top of that it's also believed that when you lose weight too quickly chances are very high that you're not losing fat mass, but you're instead losing water weight or worse yet muscle tissue. You can't be losing body fat in a healthy way consistently week after week at a rate higher than 2 pounds per week. Can you? Or is that just a myth that we're constantly told. Before we get into what the studies have to say on this topic, I'd like to say that as a personal trainer that has worked with thousands of clients I can tell you that some people lose weight really fast and others lose weight really slow, but based on my experience whether they lose the weight fast or slow doesn't seem to have that much of an impact on maintaining that weight. In fact from what I've seen some people especially people that are really heavy, if they don't see results fast they'll get demotivated and quit. Let me give you a simple example, if you're looking to lose 10 pounds and you're losing the average of 2 pounds per week, then every week you're 20 percent closer to your goal. You know it'll take you about a month of maintaining a clean diet with consistent exercise to get to your goal weight. However, what happens when you're looking to lose 60 pounds to get to your goal weight. At the rate of 2 pounds per week, it's gonna take you 30 weeks of perfect dieting just to meet your goal weight. That means after half a year of controlling what foods you eat and how much. How To Fix Loose Skin After Weight Loss Men Without Surgery (5 Steps)

In this video and accompanying article, I'm offering you 5 amazing solutions to combat loose skin after weight loss. Some of you may believe that it's impossible to fix loose skin after weight loss without surgery, but I'm here to tell you that you can. In fact... I have 4 other solutions you should try before you even think about letting a surgeon near you. Here are my 4 remedies for loose skin after weight loss before surgery should be an option. Step #1: Build More Muscle Now that you've lost a lot of body fat, you have ended up with space on your frame and inside your skin, which is causing it to be loose. My recommendation is to clean bulk muscle tissue (increasing muscle without adding fat) to fill up the space, improve your body shape, and help tighten up your loose skin. More muscle mass will also ignite your metabolism and help with another one of my recommendations further down, of continuing to lose body fat. Two birds with one stone! Win-Win!! Step #2: Protect your skin & Supplement with collagen Protecting your skin from things that will damage its elasticity is the first stage of this step. Quitting smoking, avoiding UV rays without sunscreen, and avoiding too much chlorine or other chemicals on your skin will help. Daily moisturizing or a similar skincare routine maybe isn't what you're used to, but if you're open to loose skin after weight loss remedies, this could be the change you need to make. Also, because a lot of loose skin after weight loss over 50 is caused by decreasing collagen production in your body, supplementing with collagen would definitely be beneficial. My personal recommendation is Great Lakes Collagen, which you can find at https://greatlakesgelatin.com/storefront/ Step #3: Continue decreasing body-fat (to 10-12%) If you've been using the Fit Father Project programs to lose weight, you'll know the overwhelming benefits that come with reduced weight and body fat. For that sake, continuing to lose body fat, down to a level of around 10-12%, will help you see whether any more invasive next steps are needed. If you still have loose skin after you have got down to such a low percentage, you may need to decide whether you are happy as you are, or whether my last 2 solutions are needed. Step #4: Non-invasive medical procedures (Fraxel lasers/radio frequency skin tightening) Non-invasive procedures, such as Fraxel lasers or radio frequency skin tightening machines could be the next step you need to take if the previous 3 options haven't had the desired effect. Radio frequency machines are freely available from beauty stores, Amazon or eBay. Sessions are also likely available at beauty centers and medical centers in your local area. Fraxel lasers are also available, but I would suggest having this done by a professional at a reputable clinic. If you have health care insurance, it would be worth checking out whether these types of treatments are covered. Step #5 & Last option: Surgery This is the option I hope you are able to avoid, but in some instances where my other 4 options haven't worked, it may be necessary to seek the professional opinion of a surgeon. Having loose skin after weight loss cannot always be solved without surgery, but I would still urge you to give the first 4 options a shot before reaching out to your doctor or surgeon.
