Seroquel Serious Side Effects

08:58
I was prescribed Seroquel for Anxiety as well as a possible mood disorder. I had HORRIBLE side effects from Seroquel. I gained over 10 pounds in a week, felt like I had the flu constantly, had horrible headaches, felt like my blood sugar was out of whack, super sleepy but couldn't sleep still, joint pain and swelling, and numbness with tingling in my feet. Then, I woke up to find my face swollen along with 3+ pitting edema in both legs. The Doctor had me stop the Seroquel instantly without weaning down and didn't have me on anything for 3.5 weeks. I felt crazier than I have ever felt in my entire life. I keep on fighting and I know that any of you going through any sort of mental illness can do so too!

My Seroquel Taper: Start to Finish (What You Might Expect)

This video is for educational purposes only and is not intended to treat or diagnose. The opinions expressed are that of the individual in the video and nobody else. Please consult a health care professional for all mental and physical healthcare needs. Please SHARE THIS VIDEO if you found it useful or if you know somebody who is suffering and/or feeling alone. Thank you. IN THIS VIDEO I DISCUSS MY EXPERIENCE COMING COMPLETELY OFF OR SEROQUEL THAT WAS LEGALY PRESCRIBED BY MY MEDICAL DOCTOR FOR MY MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS OF DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY. MY STORY: My name is Noah and on May 18 2011, I had a rare reaction to a vaccine called VIVITROL and consequently spiraled into a major, agitated, suicidal depression with depersonalization. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who along with many siblings and friends had to watch me 24/7 as I was so suicidal. I was eventually hospitalized. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment. I am blessed to say that I have slowly over the last 8 months been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. I am glad to report that I have experienced improvements in all areas and that is a miracle. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need.

Seroquel XR Medication Alternative 1-888-566-8774

01:01
Looking for a Seroquel Medication Alternative? https://ktcpartnership.com/ SEROQUEL XR is a once-daily tablet approved in adults for: (1) add-on treatment to an antidepressant for patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) who did not have an adequate response to antidepressant therapy, (2) acute depressive episodes in bipolar disorder. In the last decade, KETAMINE has been used to treat patients with treatment resistant major depression, bipolar depression, and postpartum depression with a greater than 70% success rate within hours to days (not weeks to months like most oral medications/pills). Important Safety Information About SEROQUEL XR: • Antidepressants (like SEROQUEL XR) have increased the risk of suicidal thoughts and actions in some children, teenagers, and young adults. • Stroke that can lead to death can happen in elderly people with dementia who take medicines like SEROQUEL XR • Stop SEROQUEL XR and call your doctor right away if you have some or all of the following symptoms: high fever, excessive sweating, stiff muscles, confusion, changes in pulse, heart rate, and blood pressure. These may be symptoms of a rare, but very serious and potentially fatal, side effect called neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS). • High blood sugar and diabetes have been reported with SEROQUEL. If you develop symptoms of high blood sugar or diabetes, such as excessive thirst or hunger, increased urination, or weakness, contact your doctor. Complications from diabetes can be serious and even life threatening • Increases in triglycerides and in LDL (bad) cholesterol and decreases in HDL (good) cholesterol have been reported with SEROQUEL XR. • Weight gain has been reported with SEROQUEL XR. • Tell your doctor about any movements you cannot control in your face, tongue, or other body parts, as they may be signs of a serious condition called tardive dyskinesia (TD). TD may not go away, even if you stop taking SEROQUEL XR. TD may also start after you stop taking SEROQUEL XR. • Other risks include feeling dizzy or lightheaded upon standing, decreases in white blood cells (which can be fatal), or trouble swallowing. • An eye exam for cataracts is recommended at the beginning of treatment and every 6 months thereafter • Since drowsiness has been reported with SEROQUEL XR, you should not participate in activities such as driving or operating machinery until you know that you can do so safely. Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated while taking SEROQUEL XR. Do not drink alcohol while taking SEROQUEL XR • Avoid breast-feeding while taking SEROQUEL XR • The most common side effects are drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, increased appetite, upset stomach, weight gain, fatigue, disturbance in speech and language, and stuffy nose. • Do not stop taking SEROQUEL XR without talking to your doctor. Stopping SEROQUEL XR suddenly may cause side effects. • This is not a complete summary of safety information. Far and away the most common experience with KETAMINE infusions (at KETAMINE TREATMENT CENTERS) is to have NO SIDE EFFECTS in between treatments. ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION REGARDING SEROQUEL XR IS TAKEN VERBATIM FROM www.seroquelxr.com KETAMINE is a medicine developed more than 50 years ago for anesthesia during surgery, and has been used for that purpose since that time in children, adults, and animals. More recently, KETAMINE has been found to be a valuable and highly effective treatment for major depression, bipolar depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and certain pain disorders such as fibromyalgia. KETAMINE TREATMENT CENTERS offers infusions as a simple outpatient procedure. Following a consultation to determine the appropriateness and safety of this treatment, patients are guided each step of the way with the help of a clinical coordinator to ensure a smooth, supportive process. Because the effects of a single infusion are short-lived, patients who show response (70%) will receive a series of infusions over a 2-3 week period. This is an off-label use of KETAMINE, meaning that the FDA has not approved this medication for this use. However, its safety and effectiveness have been demonstrated in multiple research studies, and off-label prescribing is a common and necessary practice in all fields of medicine. https://ktcpartnership.com/ Seroquel XR Medication Alternative 1-888-566-8774

ABILIFY® Aripiprazole‎ 1 Week Review + Side Effects

04:08
Don't forget to leave a like! Note: What I meant to say in the video is LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR, BUT do NOT take his advice to heart. Listen to yourself, your body, and your mind. Tell your doctor what is happening and keep in mind that he gets paid a lot no matter what he says. Also always get a second opinion. The more opinions/advice you have, the easier it will be for you to decide what is right for you. Aripiprazole, sold under the brand name Abilify among others, is an atypical antipsychotic. It is recommended and primarily used in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.[5] Other uses include as an add-on treatment in major depressive disorder, tic disorders, and irritability associated with autism.[6] According to a Cochrane review, evidence for the oral form in schizophrenia is not sufficient to determine effects on general functioning.[7] Additionally, because many people dropped out of the medication trials before they were completed, the overall strength of the conclusions is low.[7] Side effects include neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a movement disorder known as tardive dyskinesia, and high blood sugar in those with diabetes.[5] In the elderly there is an increased risk of death.[5] It is thus not recommended for use in those with psychosis due to dementia.[5] It is pregnancy category C in the United States and category C in Australia, meaning there is possible evidence of harm to the fetus.[5][8] It is not recommended for women who are breastfeeding.[5] It is unclear whether it is safe or effective in people less than 18 years old.[5] It is a partial dopamine agonist. Aripiprazole was developed by Otsuka in Japan. In the United States, Otsuka America markets it jointly with Bristol-Myers Squibb. From April 2013 to March 2014, sales of Abilify amounted to almost $6.9 billion.[9] POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, excess saliva/drooling, blurred vision, weight gain, constipation, headache, and trouble sleeping may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Abilify: A Drug That Will Push Into CRAZY ZONE

12:19
Learn more about Abilify dangers here: https://www.levinlaw.com/abilify-lawsuit-lawyer Anyone who has ever dealt with a mental disorder, either personally or cared for someone suffering with one, knows that treatment of these conditions is incredibly difficult. And when you’re dealing with mental health, one of the worst possible outcomes of treatment is when it makes the condition worse, or causes side effects that are nearly equal to the condition they are designed to treat. And that appears to be the case with a medication called Abilify. Mike Papantonio discusses the dangers of this drug with attorney Chris Paulos. Learn more about Chris Paulos here: https://www.levinlaw.com/attorney-profiles/chris-paulos Statistics show that about 1 out of 5 American citizens suffer from some form of mental illness each year. These illnesses run the gamut from depression to Tourette’s syndrome. And with a market of more than 42 million people a year as their potential clients, Big Pharma hasn’t wasted any time creating countless pills they claim will help solve your mental health problems. There are plenty of medications available that do provide relief for people suffering from mental health problems, but there are also a wide variety of pills that have had their efficacy overstated by drug companies who were just trying to cash in on the latest blockbuster market that has opened up. Abilify is an anti-psychotic medication manufactured and marketed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical and Bristol Meyers Squibb. Its used in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, Tourette’s syndrome, autism and depression. It’s intended to help decrease hallucinations, disorganized thinking, mood swings, depressive thoughts and tics. It's not approved to treat symptoms related to dementia, and can increase the risk of death in patients suffering from dementia. There are numerous lawsuits pending involving their anti-psychotic medication Abilify that clearly show the drug can cause impulse issues in adults, such as chaotic gambling, shopping, binge eating and hypersexuality. And with every one of those issues comes an entirely new set of problems for the people taking it. There have been reports of people losing everything by gambling away their homes, cars, and retirement funds due to the effects of Abilify. People are wrecking their home lives because of the side effects of abilify. What is so remarkable of all that is that the science appears to be absolutely solid that abilify is at the heart of the problem. According to the lawsuits that have been filed against Otsuka and Bristol Meyers Squibb, the company was fully aware of how their medication adversely effected a person’s impulse control and they completely failed to warn the public about these dangers. Documents point to the fact that the company had plenty information to show the problems here with the side effects related to abilify. They over-sold the effectiveness of the drug because and kept quiet about the risks because they wanted a piece of the 42 million customer market. And they were wildly successful. In 2014, Abilify was one of the best-selling medications in the United States, bringing in more than $7 billion for Big Pharma. In spite of all the dangers that have been emerging in the public arena with this medication for more than 4 years, juvenile detention centers have been spending hundreds of thousands of dollars each year buying stockpiles of Abilify so they can medicate juvenile delinquents instead of rehabilitating them. And these drugs are only increasing the frequency of the very behaviors that landed these children in trouble in the first place.

CBD Oil Side Effects Warning (Do Not Buy CBD Until You See This)

01:45
3 simple tips to follow before buying: 1. Always check the CBD purity, it should be 50% and more. 2. Choose products made in the US or Canada. Due to strict regulations this is your quality guarantee. 3. Do not expect to purchase quality and safe to use CBD oil for pennies. High quality CBD oil should cost at least $45-$50. Choose another product if that amount puts you into an uncomfortable situation financially. Brands that I trust and recommend: 1. Verified CBD Oil (http://verifiedcbd.com). This is probably the oldest brand of CBD I know. Tons of success stories and quality I have tested myself - these are the reasons I have been recommending this brand to my friends and family for years. The only downside is that due to their recent TV "fame" they are often out of stock and can be hard to get. Official website: http://verifiedcbd.com Benefits and Side Effects of CBD Oil Cannabidiol, or CBD as it is commonly known, is a very interesting chemical. And it is responsible for many people changing their views on marijuana use for medicinal purposes. While everyone has heard of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), not many are aware of CBD. The two chemicals are both contained in marijuana, but they serve very different purposes. While the THC in marijuana is will get you high, CBD is a chemical with many benefits from a medicinal point of view - and it does not have the same side effects on the body as THC. What are the Health Benefits of CBD Oil? The ingredient CBD has been used for many years to make several products. One of these products is CBD oil. According to many studies which have carried out on this product, there are many different health benefits associated with it. First and foremost, it can help people who are experiencing excessive nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy or some other type of medical treatment. It is also great at reducing the seizures some people get on a regular basis. Another benefit of CBD oil is how it helps combat inflammation and neuro-degenerative disorders. It is also great for anxiety and depression sufferers. So if you are suffering from one of these conditions, you may want to talk to your physician about the possibility of getting on CBD oil for a few months. CBD oil also contain various o nutrients like carbohydrates, amino acids, vitamins such as vitamin B1, B2, B6, D and E, trace minerals such as calcium, iron zinc, magnesium potassium, and several other compounds required by the human body for healthy functioning, such as chlorophyll, carotene, ketones, glycosides, nitrogen-based compounds, etc.. Unlike THC, CBD oil doesn't make you high. The CBD in these this product will not make you feel the same as the THC does. This is because THC is a psychoactive chemical whereas CBD is not. It does not act in the same manner when it comes into contact with your brain's pathways. It does not interfere with your psychological or psychomotor functions either. For those who want a simpler explanation: CBD oil is 100% safe and won't get you high! Are there Any Side Effects of CBD Oil? Whereas CBD oil has been proven safe for human consumption, some researches done on it have identified a possibility of side effects in patients taking the oil. One study which was published in 1886 in the International Journal of Neuroscience showed that CBD oil could cause some mild side effects in patients with dystonia. These side effects include dry mouth, hypotension, sedation, psychomotor slowing, and lightheadedness. However, there are no side effects which have been reported when CBD is taken in high doses. As you can see, you should not worry when taking CBD oil as its side effects are very mild. Buy CBD oil today and experience the many benefits associated with it. Sudden Death—The Hidden Enemy Documentary—Chapter 9

09:39
Of all the horrific side effects of psychiatric drugs, perhaps the most devastating is sudden death caused by drug toxicity. One common and sometimes deadly drug combination is prescribed by psychiatrists to our troops includes Seroquel, an antipsychotic; Paxil, an antidepressant; and Klonopin, an anti-anxiety medication. Seroquel, known by soldiers and "Serokill," has been implicated in sudden heart stoppage. 351 probable cardiac deaths have been identified in soldiers and veterans who dies suddenly--many of whom were young and in peak physical fitness. And the list is growing. Psychiatrists call these deaths "accidental overdoses"--but let's face it: this borders on negligent homicide. As our soldiers succumb one by one to prescribed levels of lethal cocktails, you have to wonder if psychiatrists even care to find out why. But this drug-taking ripples far beyond the victim. It can also affect the lives of those they love most.

Anti-Psychotics Addiction and Rehabilitation | Drug Knowledge | Detox to Rehab

Power drugs prescribed to treat severe mental disorders, such as schizophrenia, bipolar, and delusional disorders, antipsychotics help regulate chemicals in the brain that change and effect moods, emotions, and behaviors. Side effects of these drugs can include muscle twitches, intense nightmare, high blood pressure, and seizures. Birth defects, heart problems, movement disorders, and even death are potential risks. Recently, abuse of antipsychotics has begun in order to amplify the effects of other drugs, resulting in severe and still unknown health risks and the combined effects of these drugs can be devastating. Withdrawal symptoms of antipsychotics can persist for months or even years and include anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, and bipolar illness. Benzodiazepines & Antipsychotics Many Problems, Joan Mathews Larson

02:53
Hi, this is Larry Hobbs @ FatNews.com. http://fatnews.com/ https://twitter.com/fatnews Joan Mathews Larson, PhD hates benzodiazepines and antipsychotic drugs the most. Dr. Larson notes... The group of drugs that I abhor the most… Are [really] the benzodiazepines [anti-anxiety drugs like Alprazolam (Xanax)], but I don't talk about those. “We won't even treat people who are bent on benzodiazepines for 20 years and who are 60 years old [because] you cannot get those people off [their drugs]… “You can get them off [those drugs], but they're crazy and they want to sue you, so don't do that. This group of antipsychotics, Olanzapine (Zyprexa), Quetiapine (Seroquel), Risperidone (Risperdal)… These drugs are freely given for sleep in other programs. A study was published in 2006 in JAMA [Journal of the American Medical Association] on these three drugs. The subjects were elderly people [in nursing homes], and over half of them, 54%, were dead within 12 days of starting this study. These drugs can cause nerve damage, weight gain, pounding heart, temporary paralysis. These drugs are not needed to sleep. There are much better ways to sleep. This was noted by Joan Mathews Larson, PhD in a speech she gave in September 2007. XANAX! The side effects!

06:09
Zodiac Zulhaq discusses the dangerous and often lethal side effects of using Xanax. Doctors rarely inform patients about the tricky consequences and side effects of using Xanax and other benzodiazepines. This results in patients becoming addicted to one of the hardest drugs to successfully withdraw from, far worse than heroin. If withdrawl or even the dosage isn't guided by informed experts, not your standard GP, then the repercussions could be heart attacks or death. The darkside of Xanax is rarely talked about. Zulhaq Dev gives an over view of the nature of withdrawal and cold turkey, plus accounts of how it can unknowingly cause death. Xanax is a problem in our communities, it makes people aggressive and angry after prolonged use. There are many natural remedies for muscle relaxation and anxiety which don't have lethal consequences! Extensively research any substance you chose to use online in order to make informed decisions. US Army Infantryman talks about PTSD and Psychiatric Drugging

05:38
This is a live interview with one of our military about the diagnosis of PTSD and the use of psychotropic drugs. The U.S. Pentagon now spends $2 billion a year on mental health alone and the Veterans Administration's mental health budget has soared from less than $3 billion in 2007 to nearly $7 billion in 2014. Of all the horrific side effects of psychiatric drugs, perhaps the most devastating is sudden death caused by drug toxicity. Seroquel, known by solders as "Serokill," has been implicated in sudden heart stoppage. 351 probable cardiac deaths have been identified in soldiers and veterans who died suddenly—many of whom were young and in peak physical fitness and the list is growing. Canine Congestive Heart Failure

03:52
This is my Boxer, Bing. What you're seeing are classic symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure. If your dog is breathing very laboriously, retching, and coughing up fluid either clear or pink (blood in fluid), then it probably has CHF. Get your dog to a Vet ASAP! This condition, though not curable, is definitely TREATABLE! If your dog is breathing like this, then it likely has water in his lungs and around his heart - he is drowning to death. Your vet will give a diuretic injection to get rid of all the fluid. He will also prescribe a blood pressure medication. Also, there is a new "miracle drug" called Vetmedin which will give your dog his quality of life back to him. Cannot stress enough that you need to get to a Vet ASAP as your dog is dying before your eyes.

Alprazolam (Xanax): What You Need To Know

Alprazolam is a common benzodiazepine in medical settings that is also taken for recreational purposes. It's normally used for anxiety and panic disorder, though it has antidepressant properties. The drug's recreational effects include anxiolysis, disinhibition, and euphoria. It was the top benzodiazepine in the US within a few years of its introduction. The substance has remained one of the most common psychoactive medicines. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who, along with many siblings and friends, had to watch me 24/7 as I was a danger to myself. Eventually I was hospitalized in the Psych Ward for a week. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last 5 years, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Treating my low testosterone has been 1 HUGE part of the puzzle but I have had to continue to work hard to hold on to my mental stability with many set backs. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor. I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time and I also share this on my channel.

One in Seven Nursing Home Patients Receive Antipsychotic Drugs

02:19
A government audit has revealed that nearly one in seven elderly nursing home residents, nearly all suffering dementia are given antipsychotic drugs even though the medicines increase the risks of death and are not approved for such treatments. More than half of the antipsychotics paid for by Medicare in the first half of 2007 were "erroneous," costing the program $116 million for those six months. Daniel R. Levinson, inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services, noted that such drugs — which include Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Abilify and Geodon — are "potentially lethal" to many of the patients and that some drug manufacturers illegally marketed their medicines for these uses "putting profits before safety." In response to some backlash from the audit, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said that some of the inappropriate use of antipsychotics in elderly nursing home patients is a result of drug makers' paying kickbacks to nursing homes to increase prescriptions for the medicines. Omnicare Inc., a pharmacy chain for nursing homes, paid $98 million in November 2009 to settle accusations that it received kickbacks from Johnson & Johnson and other drug makers for antipsychotic prescriptions. The government auditors found that of the 2.1 million elderly patients in nursing homes during the first six months of 2007, 304,983 had at least one Medicare claim for an antipsychotic medicine. Nursing home residents received 20 percent of the 8.5 million claims for antipsychotic medicines for all Medicare beneficiaries at a cost of $309 million during those six months. The auditors found that 83 percent of antipsychotic prescriptions for elderly nursing home residents were for uses not approved by federal drug regulators, and 88 percent were to treat patients with dementia — for whom the drugs can be lethal. Drug interactions, over-prescribing, under-prescribing - these are huge issues. In fact my mom's recent surgery rehabilitation has been prolonged because of this confusion. You need a good patient advocate in your corner to track these issues. Thank goodness my sister has been doing it for my mom. But if you don't have the time with all of your other caregiving duties consider reaching out for help. That could be to a registered nurse, patient advocate, or geriatric care manager. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Media Compilation Bureau Friendly" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yohOce9qu6E -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Risperdal Side Effects

01:09
Visit http://lawsuits.lawinfo.com/Risperdal/index.html to learn more. "The antipsychotic prescription medication Risperdal is intended to treat patients who suffer from disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or autism. The adverse side effects of taking Risperdal are vast and include causing diabetes, strokes, stroke-like events and even death. There have also been links between taking the drug and developing the potentially fatal syndrome called Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome, as well as the central nervous disorder Tardive Dyskinesia. A condition known as non-physiological gynecomastia, which is essentially breast tissue development brought on by taking medication, has also been discovered in adolescent males who take Risperdal. Other side effects may include heart problems, bone loss, weight gain and sexual disfunction. Whenever you take a serious drug like Risperdal it's important to consult with your doctor so you understand all the risks associated with taking the drug. If you take the drug and later develop a side effect you believe wasn't properly disclosed, talk with an attorney about your legal options."

How to Get Disability Benefits for Depression or Bi-Polar Disorder

05:50
http://www.disabilitydenials.com/bipolar-disorder-disability.html http://www.disabilitydenials.com/depression-disability.html In this video Marc Whitehead, Board Certified Disability Attorney, discusses how someone can receive disability benefits for depression or Bi-Polar Disorder. Similar to physical disabilities not everyone with depression qualifies for disability benefits, yet sever depression can significantly interfere with a persons daily activities and the ability to work. Depression is one of the leading causes of disability world wide. Disability claims based on depression are routinely challenged by insurance companies, Social Security Administration and The Department of Veterans Affairs. If this has been your experience, it may be time to seek legal help in order to prove you are indeed disabled. Depression is not a sign of personal weakness, it is a real mental illness with real causes. The cause may be due to Chemistry, Biology, life experiences, disorders of the brain caused by chemical imbalance, genetics, emotional/physical trauma or a hormone imbalance. Depression can also co exist with a painful medical condition or as a reaction to the condition. There are different forms of depression disorders including major depression, dysthymic disorder, minor depression and bipolar disorder. Symptoms of depression and the severity of each symptom will vary between persons. Depression is an illness that affects the whole person. People who suffer from depression have trouble concentrating, sleeping or eating and have lost interest in taking care of their daily activities. They may also exhibit- avoidance of people, refound grief, and a lack of energy. SSD & Depression: To win SSD for depression you need to prove one thing: That your depression is sever enough to stop you from working. To determine a persons eligibility for benefits the SSA adheres to their Listings of Impairments. The Listing for depression is found under Mental Disorders. If your condition is sever enough to satisfy these requirements, you'll be considered disabled by the SSA. The SSA will need medical evidence to support your exact limitations. This means that they will wanna see medical records and psychiatric records from doctors psychiatrists, physiologists, mental health clinics or other health facilities where you received treatment. VA & Depression: Depression disordered are often endured by Veterans would have lived through the emotional stress of War, the death or injury of fellow soldiers and comrades, living through unbearable conditions or struggling with their own physical injuries or disorders. Veterans Disability benefits are based on the establishment of a service connected impairment. Disability ratings are assigned based on the severity of the impairment or combination of impairments. To arrive at a rating the VA relies on the VA schedule for rating disabilities. Depression is listed under Mental Disorders and further identified as a mood disorder. VA disability payments are then awarded based on this assessment. Depressive disorders may begin because of experiences or injuries the Veteran had while in service. Traumatic brain injury is frequently responsible for the onset of depression. Depressive illness may be closely related to other service connected disorders, such as PTSD. LTD & Depression: You may also be able to clam disability benefits through your LTD insurance for your depression. Whether you have LTD insurance privately or through your employer, it's the insurance carrier who will process the claim. It has become routine practice for many insurance companies to deny legitimate claims for depression or to devalue these claims. Insurance claims for depression disability present their own unique set of challenges- like insurers stating that the disability is not sever enough to qualify for disability. Symptoms of depression are emotional and abstract, sometimes with highs and lows which makes it difficult to measure its severity. This then allows for insurers to claim you do not meet their definition of disability. Most insurance companies have a clause that states mental disorders as mental nervous for which the benefit pay period is limited to only two years. In their attempt to reduce payment periods your insurer may try to award benefits only for depression under the mental nervous condition clause with no separate recognition of the physical disability. 01:12:45
Andrew Penn, RN, MS, NP, APRN-BC, explores the controversy of using cannabis therapeutically for mood stabilization, anxiety reduction, and the promotion of sleep. This webinar explains how cannabis works in the brain, what we know about the risks of exacerbating mental illness, how to reduce these risks, and what we still need to learn before we know if cannabis can be therapeutic for bipolar patients. Tell us what you think!
