Ketosis and Uric Acid Stones

Get Potassium Citrate: https://shop.drberg.com/electrolyte-p... Dr. Berg's Book: https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Bergs-Body-... (PLEASE GIVE YOUR UNBIAS REVIEW) Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about higher levels of uric acid and uric acid stones. Because ketones are acidic and release more nitrogen as well as certain parts of your body needing glucose, more nitrogen is released. When your body makes glucose out of dietary protein and fat, this is called gluconeogensis. To the pathway to release this excess nitrogen is urea, in which you could end up with higher levels of uric acid crystals (gout). If your urine is too acid, it will be more difficult to dissolve these crystals. Higher insulin levels usually make higher levels of uric acid and gout, but the ketogenic diet can also do this...IF you do not consume enough potassium foods. Normally, kidney stones are made from oxalates (90%), but on a ketogenic diet, you will have more uric acid stones (50% of the time). RECOMMENDATION 1. Keeping your potassium high (vegetables). 2. Take potassium citrate 3. Lemon juice (because its citrates). 4. Sea salt (on a keto diet you need 1 tsp per day. If you are doing a high carb diet, you need 1/4th of a tsp. 5. Take vitamin K2 if you have a tendency of getting kidney stones as a K2 deficiency is a major cause of kidney stones. In this video we are going to talk about ketosis, acids and stones. When you do a ketogenic diet, ketones are more acid so you are going to be releasing more acid to the body and you are going to be releasing something called nitrogen. A little bit more than you would if you are weren’t in a ketogenic diet. But because certain parts of the body or certain parts of the brain needs a little bit more of sugar, your body are also making a little bit of sugar from your dietary protein and dietary fat so it can make its own sugar, it is called gluconeogenesis. Gout & Ketosis

Dr. Berg's Electrolyte Powder: https://shop.drberg.com/electrolyte-powder-regular Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about gout and ketosis. Ketosis can increase uric acid during adaptation (1st month). Intermittent fasting can also cause retention of uric acid. Dr. Berg recommends adding organic lemon juice(Italian volcano Lemon juice) or fresh lemon and electrolyte powder, which will help increase potassium citrate. Potassium citrate is good for gout because it alkalizes this acidic state and helps reduce gout symptoms. Hello Dr. Berg here, in this video we are going to talk about Gout and Ketosis. In certain individuals that are predisposed into having high uric acid crystals or even kidney stones, ketosis can aggravate the situation and intermittent fasting can also cause retention of uric acid in certain people too which doesn’t normally lead to gout but can increase more uric acid. There are two simple things that you can do because when you have uric acid crystals, one remedy would be lemon juice. That’s why I recommend consuming a good amount of lemon juice in your diet when you do this because it is going to counter oxalates, uric acid and help flushed thins out. The other thing that you can do is to take electrolyte powder which has a thousand mg of potassium citrate. Potassium citrate is really good for gout because it alkalizes this acidic state and helps reduce the symptoms of gout and helps neutralize the uric acid build up. One important point is that, this uric acid build up is usually only on the first few weeks, it is not if you fully adapted to ketosis. It is in the adaptation that is why a lot of things shift and change when you are in the keto adaption phase, you might have keto flu, rash, fatigue and even flare up of gout. In summary, it is not going to be a problem for you but if you start feeling pain in your big toe as a gout, start increasing the potassium citrate or the lemon juice. How to relieve Arthritis naturally Forever! Part 1

07:34
How to relieve Arthritis naturally forever. http://www.AmeerRosic.com How to relieve arthritis naturally by avoiding Grains and Dairy. Arthritis is caused by the consumption of grains and dairy that cause leaky gut syndrome and inflammation of the joints. By avoiding Grains and Dairy your body is giving the environment to heal and finally fix arthritis forever! The Gut Connection to Rheumatoid Arthritis The purpose of the gastrointestinal tract (gut) is multi-fold. 1. It digests food into small easily absorbed particles, absorbs small food particles to then be converted into energy, attaches nutrients like vitamins and minerals to carrier proteins which then transport them across the gut lining into the bloodstream, detoxifies the chemicals we daily imbibe through our air, food and water, as it contains a major part of the chemical detoxification system of the body which protects us from cancer and all other diseases, and fights off infection,as it contains over half of the immune system which synthesizes immuno-globulins or antibodies that act as the first line of defence against infection, cancer and other diseases. The leaky gut syndrome is an extremely common problem, yet is seldom tested for. Remember this: if the gut is not totally healthy, you have no chance of healing anything else, regardless of the label on your condition. It doesn't matter what type of chronic pain you have, or if you have high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, prostatitis, cancer, or merely accelerated aging. You are stuck until the gut is healed. The leaky or hyperpermeable intestinal lining places a major burden on the body's ability to absorb amino acids, essential fatty acids, minerals and vitamins. It would appear that nutrients could simply slip right on into the gut. Sadly the opposite is true. For in order for the body to absorb a mineral, a carrier protein must be attached. This protein must hook onto the mineral that actively carries it across the gut wall into the bloodstream. But when the bowel lining is damaged through inflammation the nutrient carrier proteins get damaged. In addition, the finger-like projections that line the gut and allow us to absorb food gets damaged. When these get destroyed, the result is malabsorption. So in addition to new food and chemical allergies and auto-immune diseases, the leaky gut victim may develop mineral and vitamin deficiencies, even in spite of taking adequate levels of them. What can cause the inflammation that leads to the leaky gut syndrome? Examples include: 1. Abnormal gut bugs, called flora(e.g.,unwantedbacteria,parasites,andprotozoa from contaminated food and water, and overgrowth of yeasts like Candida from antibiotics) 2. Chemicals that irritate the gut(e.g.ingested alcohol and food additives or inhaled toluene or formaldehyde from that new carpet or paint, and of course, NSAIDs) 3. Food irritants and allergens(e.g.eatingthingsthatyouknowbotheryouand processed foods with their long list of mysterious chemical ingredients) 4. Emotions like anger and worry(which dump stress hormones into the system and cause loss of protective nutrients) Genetic and acquired enzyme deficiencies (e.g. lactose deficiency and celiac disease), and more. " Functional Medicine " NightShade's and Arthritis Nightshade vegetables are among the foods that can trigger arthritis flares. Others feel their arthritis symptoms improve when nightshade vegetables are avoided. potatoes (not sweet potatoes) tomatoes eggplant sweet and hot peppers (including paprika, cayenne pepper and Tabasco sauce) ground cherries tomatillos and tamarillos garden huckleberry and naranjillas pepinos and pimentos

If I Have Arthritis, Should I Avoid the Nightshades?

Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about if you have arthritis, should you avoid the nightshades? The answer to this question is No. Unless you are sensitive or allergic to solanine (natural pesticide) then yes you should avoid it. Potato is sprouting or turning green that means it has more of this chemical and you should avoid it. Your body can detoxify solanine naturally. Tomatoes, peppers and eggplant minus potatoes (high in starch) have high amount of nutrients, phytonutrients and anti-inflammatory properties. Dr. Berg what nightshades have to do with arthritis and if you should avoid them if you have arthritis. Nightshades are potato, tomato, pepper and eggplant. Learn how these contain a natural pesticide called solanine. This is mainly found in the leaves and stems of these vegetables, with very little amounts in the actual vegetables. In ketosis, glucose is not being used by the brain so it goes directly to your muscles. Due to the minimal amount of carbs consumed, some of the protein you consume is converted to glycogen via gluconeogenesis. Not a Critical Need to Refeed, Per Say, however, Glycogen Replenishment is great for those training heavy. Excerpt from the Ketogenic Diet book, published by Lyle McDonald: “The initial storage depot of carbohydrate in the body is the liver, which contains enough glycogen to sustain the brain’s glucose needs for approximately 12-16 hours. We will assume for the following discussion that liver glycogen has been depleted, ketosis established, and that the only source of glucose is from endogenous fuel stores (i.e. stored body fat and protein). After its glycogen has been depleted, the liver is one of the major sources for the production of glucose (gluconeogenesis) and it produces glucose from glycerol, lactate/pyruvate and the amino acids alanine and glutamine. The kidney also produces glucose as starvation proceeds.” Note that athletes, even on a low carbohydrate diet, your body accumulates some glycogen from protein molecules, and they use it when they exercise and then rebuilt it the next day or two. Study 1: The paper’s authors measured the performance of ultra-endurance runners who regularly run upwards of 100 miles. Here’s how they set it up: Half of the participants ate low-carb (20% of calories from carbs) for 6 months. The other half ate high-carb (55% of calories from carbs) for 6 months. On test day, athletes ran for 3 hours. The researchers measured the runners’ energy expenditure and gathered blood, muscle tissue, saliva, and a variety of other samples. They then pieced everything together to better understand what each group was burning for fuel, and how hard they had to work. What was more fascinating is that both groups had the same muscle glycogen levels during and after exercise, and they weren’t breaking down their muscles to do it. Link: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0026049515003340 Study 2: In one study, looking at well-trained cyclists, the rate of glycogen used by keto dieters was cut by a factor of 4. They were starting out with half as much glycogen as the high carboh dieters, but you’d used glycogen four times more slowly. The study took bits of muscle out of their thigh muscles and measured muscle and measured glycogen before and after. On the same duration of riding and the same intensity, their rate of glycogen use was one-fourth as much. Link: http://www.meandmydiabetes.com/2011/04/14/steve-phinney-low-carb-preserves-glycogen-better-than-high-carb/ Study 3: A study done in Arctic sled dogs by a scientist from Oklahoma State University, named Dr. Mike Davis - took a couple of racing sled dogs up in the Yukon and raced them 100 miles a day for five days in a row. 6 Tips Doing Keto with a Sluggish Gallbladder

05:31
Support a Healthy Gallbladder: https://shop.drberg.com/gallbladder-formula-regular Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg explains some tips and insight into managing a keto diet with a sluggish gallbladder. Lots of people have this condition and can include such symptoms like: right shoulder pain, bloating after eating, fat intolerance, floating stool, belching, indigestion, headaches on the right side. The six tips are: 1) Intermittent fasting. 2) Adding lots of veggies. 3) Adding bile salts. 4) Avoid grains and sugars. 5) Avoiding protein powders. 6) Not eating too many nuts. Discovery why these points help and how to implement them into your healthy lifestyle. In this video we are going to talk about the 6 tips doing ketogenic diet with a sluggish gallbladder. So many people have a sluggish gallbladder and those symptoms would be bloating after you eat, right side of underneath the ribcage feels full and kind of maybe even sore and painful, pain that goes up into the right shoulder blade, intolerance with fat, when you are going to the bathroom it floats, burping, belching, indigestion, headaches on the right side and anything on the right side. Those are signs of sluggish gallbladder. I am going to give you some tips that you can be able to do ketogenic diet with a sluggish gallbladder and it will actually improve it. No. 1, I always recommend to adding intermittent fasting to the ketogenic diet simply because it allows the gallbladder to reset. If you think about the purpose of the gallbladder, it is a sac that helps concentrate bile. You are going to have to concentrate bile between meals. When you are snacking all day and eating too much and too frequently, you will never concentrate the bile to the point where it supposed to be like 20x more concentrated. That way when you eat, this concentrated bile really helps emulsify and break down the fats extracting the fat soluble vitamins as compared to having some dilute bile that doesn’t really do the job because you are eating frequently. Taking the stress off the liver and the gallbladder, the way to do that is through not eating or intermittent fasting, 3 meals no snack and then to 2 meals no snack. DR. Fasting: Reduce Inflammation | Boost Longevity- Thomas DeLauer

Fasting: Reduce Inflammation | Boost Longevity- Thomas DeLauer… How Does Fasting Affect Inflammation - There's more to it than just "not eating" at http://www.thomasdelauer.com Fasting has been used as a medical and therapeutic tool for thousands of years. Intermittent fasting is a tool that is used frequently in the fitness space to maintain muscle while burning fat. The idea is to go without food for a period of time so that you deplete your immediate energy sources, ie your blood glucose and liver glycogen stores, so your body is forced into fat-burning mode. It also boosts human growth hormone, which is known to play a role in bone strength and lean body mass. Two approaches: Full Day Fast or Daily Fast- We are discovering that not only does IF help with fitness goals, but it also has an effect on inflammation. Inflammation is involved in many of today’s chronic conditions, including gastrointestinal diseases, arthritis, obesity, asthma and cancer. We experience inflammation when our body is trying to heal itself, but when the reaction becomes chronic, negative health impacts occur. Fasting and Inflammation- Inflammation is a major cause of musculoskeletal disorders, ranging from short term back pain to arthritis and osteoporosis. One study on rheumatoid arthritis found that fasting reduced the inflammatory symptoms of RA. 14 individuals with RA were studied before and after a 1 week fast. It was found that fasting reduced the release of leukotriene B4 from RA neutrophils, reduced the generation of cytotaxins from serum and altered the phospholipid fatty acid composition. Leukotriene B4 (LTB4) plays an important role in several cellular processes involved in inflammation, including oxidative metabolism, enzyme release and stimulation of neutrophil migration and aggregation. It is known that altering your lipid intake changes the phospholipid fatty acid composition of cell membranes. This has an impact on the precursor substance content for the production of inflammatory leukotrienes. It has been shown that a diet high in fish oil decreases the production of LTB4, so this experiment wanted to see how total calorie reduction would impact this. It was also shown that the phospholipid composition changed with a resulting reduction of LTB4 production. No adverse effects of fasting were found in the study, only lightheadedness and a bit of weakness during the fasting period. Several other studies have shown that a calorie restriction diet, which is reducing your calories without malnutrition, reduce inflammatory markers. This occurred through the reduction of inflammatory cytokine production, including reduced tumor necrosis factor and interleukin-6. Studies have shown anti-inflammatory effect of CR on the brain tissue (hypothalamus), serum, liver and heart. Chronic inflammation can harm every part of our bodies, including the brain. Chronic neuroinflammation is typical in many neurodegenerative diseases, including depression and Alzheimer’s. In a 2015 study on rats it was found that IF reduced the risk of damage to brain function in both younger and older rats when looking at neurodegenerative diseases linked to central nervous system inflammation. Researchers at the Yale School of Medicine conducted a study on mice in 2015 and found that beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) produced by fasting inhibits NLRP3, a set of proteins known as the inflammasome. The inflammatory response in several disorders is driven by the inflammasome. These disorders include auto-inflammatory disorders, Alzheimer’s, type 2 diabetes and autoimmune disorders. BHB is produced when you fast, consume a ketogenic diet, do high-intensity exercise or experience calorie restriction. References: 1. What Causes Painful, Numb or Tingling Feet?

02:35
More Data on Nutritional Yeast Tablets: https://shop.drberg.com/nutritional-y... Dr. Berg talks about painful feet and potential reasons for this. It could be too much uric acid in the body from your kidneys not functioning, too much protein in the diet or even when you start a ketogenic diet, your uric acid levels can temporarily increase in which case you can take lemon juice, citrates or even potassium citrates. However, many times if the feet pain is burning, tingling or numbness, this could related to high sugars. High sugar destroys the nerves, it also depletes the B-vitamins, interfering the nerve conduction in the body. Nutritional yeast is a good source of B-vitamins. Peripheral neuropathy can be helped with the fat soluble B1-vitamin called benfotiamine. 9 Foods You Should NEVER Eat If You Have Arthritis

03:48
9 Foods You Should NEVER Eat If You Have Arthritis More than 50 million adults in the United States are suffering from arthritis. For many of them, trying to manage pain and inflammation is a daily battle. While medication might ease the pain, it doesn’t address the real problem. Getting rid of the inflammatory foods in your diet can help you reduce inflammation and manage arthritis pain naturally. Here are nine foods to avoid if you have arthritis: 1. Gluten and Wheat. Both gluten and wheat cause an inflammatory response in many people, especially in those who are intolerant or suffering from a leaky gut. A leaky gut allows toxins and waste to enter your bloodstream through your intestines, causing the body to initiate an immune response. This immune response is what leads to inflammation. 2. Dairy. The majority of dairy products contain casein, a type of protein that is known to cause inflammation. Studies have shown that casein protein can irritate the tissue that surrounds the joints, resulting in pain and inflammation. 3. Corn Oil. Corn oil contains omega-6 fatty acids. Any food that contains high doses of omega-6 fatty acids can upset the balance of omega-6 and omega-3, causing inflammation. This includes all oils derived from seeds, such as canola, grapeseed, soybean and sunflower oil. 4. Fried & Processed Foods. A study published in the 2009 Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism found that fried foods contain toxins called advanced glycation end products. These products increase oxidation in the body’s cells and increase inflammation levels. Cutting out fried and processed foods can greatly reduce your levels of inflammation. 5. Salt. Too much salt upsets the balance of water in the body. It causes water retention, which increases the pressure on your blood vessels. The added pressure can aggravate arthritis, causing pain and inflammation. Reducing the amount of sodium in your diet can help balance your electrolyte levels and reduce inflammation. 6. Nightshades. Nightshades contain alkaloids. In some people, like those suffering from arthritis, these alkaloids have pro-inflammatory properties. If nightshades aggravate your pain and inflammation, it’s best to cut them out. Nightshades include tomatoes, white potatoes and eggplant as well as pepper and paprika. 7. Sugar. Research has shown that processed sugar triggers the release of inflammatory messengers, known as cytokines. Sugar can hide under many different names on ingredient labels, including as fructose or sucrose. Skip the pastries, candy bars, sodas and processed fruit juices. 9. Refined Carbohydrates. Products made with white flour, such as bread, crackers, white rice or white potatoes are refined carbohydrates. These processed carbohydrates are high on the glycemic index. They have a habit of triggering inflammation. Don’t forget to watch out for cereals made with white flour. Thank you for watching. if you find this video helpful please like, comment, subscribe and share it with your friends and family too.

Rheumatoid Arthritis And Diet: What is the connection

04:17
Rheumatoid Arthritis And Diet: What is the connection http://www.Ameerrosic.com Do you have Rheumatoid Arthritis? If you do, then I advise you to read this, for it might change the course of your life. In this article, I will break down in simple steps, the reasons why Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) might be caused by your diet. Rheumatoid Arthritis and diet connection The next million-dollar question is: What causes RA? In my humble opinion, it is caused by a combination of proteins from food put together with gut permeability. To put the icing on top, add in autoimmune issues. Now before we begin to list which foods may cause RA, I assume already that you are eating a clean Paleo/primal diet. That means NO processed sugar, NO processed foods and you are focusing on grass-fed meats, veggies, fruits and tubers. That being said, if you are not...you should! The foods listed below have all been found to have a connection with RA in one form or another. Many people report AMAZING benefits from excluding the foods listed below. I say it doesn't hurt to try. Gluten Why gluten? Consider the fact that RA is also connected to autoimmune issues, and we know in studies that Gluten may cause AI problems for some. (1) That being said, a very cool study was done showing that on a Vegan, Gluten-free diet, RA markers improved. Now, don't jump the gun and start a vegan diet. (2) I don't advise anyone starting a diet without proper planning and education. It's very simple that the Gluten protein is causing inflammation in your body, directly or indirectly, through gut permeability. Time to cut it out! Dairy--friend or foe? When I speak about dairy for RA, I even speak about the raw form. As I have seen in my own practice (and in some studies) that any form of dairy may be problematic for RA-prone individuals. But, why? 1 - Dairy has been shown to cause IgM and Immune activation towards RA. (3) 2 - In summary, dietary peptide fragments, derived from proteins are capable of stimulating T-cells in an HLA restricted manner. (4) Pretty much the proteins in the milk may create issues with your immune system, causing a flare up with RA. Coffee Yes, coffee. I know it sucks, but it is the truth, some just can't handle the coffee. Coffee consumption may be a risk factor for RA, possibly through mechanisms contributing to the production of Rheumatoid Factor (RF). This hypothesis remains to be tested in further studies. (5) Nightshades There haven't been any studies showing that Nightshades are directly linked to RA. However, many people feel much better limiting these foods. What are nightshades? • Potatoes • Tomatoes • Sweet and hot peppers • Eggplant • Tomatillos • Tamarios • Pepinos • Pimentos • Paprika • Cayenne peppers Substances in these foods, called alkaloids, can impact nerve-muscle function and digestive function in animals and humans, and may also be able to compromise joint function. Step #4 -- Summary • If you suspect you have Rheumatoid Arthritis, then go get the RA blood test. • Eliminate all of the above food groups and concentrate on a Paleo autoimmune protocol. • Rinse, wash and repeat. Always be cautious and weary of your progress. I hoped this shined some light on why there is such a prevalence of Rheumatoid Arthritis. The more you know the more you grow.

My Best Tip for Autoimmune Conditions

Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. BACKGROUND DATA: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti... https://www.standardprocess.com/Stand... http://www.drsharonrabb.com/articles/... https://www.seleneriverpress.com/arch... Dr. Berg gives his best tip for autoimmune conditions. Autoimmune condition are condition whereby the body is attacking itself. Most of these conditions are treated with steroids, which are anti-inflammatory. Steroids are adrenal hormones. Standard Process Inc. is a good company to get glandular tissue supplements. Dr.Berg gives his best tip on Autoimmune conditions. An autoimmune condition is when your body making antibodies against itself. Instead of attacking microbes, it attacks itself. If you were to ask someone with an autoimmune disease, they would tell you it happened after physical or emotional stress. For instance: Addison is when the immune system mistakenly attacks the adrenal glands. Treatment is usually steroid for these conditions. But the best tip is to consume glandular organ. A person that has Addison can consume glandular adrenal from another species cow or goat. How would this help? When you consume this, your antibodies that were attacking adrenal glands will start to attack the decoy in the stomach, which in return will give your adrenal glands a break. Over time this will help deplete antibodies, so there are no more antibodies to attack itself. The recommendation is to take glandular in a small amount for an extended period. Standard process have certain products that have glandular in them and are very clean. You can also buy organ such as liver or products that have thyroid extract. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about the types of collagen (type 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). You need vitamin C to metabolism of collagen. If you have digestive problems (gastric bypass surgery, lack of stomachs, etc.), you may not be able to digest collagen from food to then make the amino acids to make your body collagen. If your problem is digestion, use Betaine Hydrochloride or Apple Cider Vinegar. For vitamin C deficiencies, start adding more vegetables to your diet, esp. belly peppers, lemons, limes and any green vegetable in higher quantities. If someone is deficient in vitamin C, they can have subclinical vitamin C deficiencies like bleeding gums, which is microhemorrhage (bleeding in gums).
