Tree nut allergy, a hypersensitivity to dietary substances from tree nuts causing an overreaction of the immune system, may lead to severe physical symptoms. Tree nuts include, but are not limited to, almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, chestnuts, filberts/hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pistachios, pine nuts, and walnuts. Tree nut allergy is distinct from peanut allergy, as peanuts are legumes, whereas a tree nut is a hard-shelled fruit. This video is targeted to blind users. Learn what foods you can swap if you're allergic. Registered dietitian Sharon Richter has the delicious details. Related Videos: What are Food Allergies? | HealthiNation http://youtu.be/Yydbjsia2Yg Local Honey & Allergies Myth | HealthiNation http://youtu.be/No1FO2FNsmg TRANSCRIPT: Food Substitutions People with food allergies need to be vigilant at every meal and make sure that they are getting the nutrients they need. The following suggestions will help when planning meals. Dairy allergies. People who are allergic to dairy products cannot consume dairy ice cream or milk. Ice cream substitutes. These include soy ice cream, sorbet and sherbet. Sorbet is dairy-free, but some sherbets may be made with milk. Milk substitutes. Alternatives to dairy milk include soy, almond and rice milks. All of these milks have the same amount of calcium as dairy milk. Soy milk also contains protein. Nut allergies. People with nut allergies need to pay careful attention to labels. Some people with a peanut allergy can be so sensitive that foods processed in a plant that handles peanuts can trigger a reaction. Easy substitutions for peanut butter are almond and cashew butter. For those allergic to all tree nuts, sunflower butter may be a good option. Seafood allergies. People with seafood allergies may need to stay away from shellfish or, in some cases, all varieties of fish. One place to be careful is in restaurants, as kitchens will often prepare dishes on the same surfaces that were used for fish dishes. Fish contains heart-healthy fats, including omega-3 fatty acids, as well as vitamin B. Both of these nutrients can be taken as a vitamin supplement. But when buying vitamins, it is important to check whether they contain fish oils or other fish products. Wheat or gluten allergies. People with this type of allergy are allergic to grains like barley, wheat and oats. In recipes that call for grains, rice or corn are a good substitute. Avoiding gluten can be tricky since it is found in many foods, such as soy sauce and salad dressing. Today, gluten-free products are available and are often clearly advertised. Sources: Eggs. When you come into contact with a substance you're allergic to, your body treats it like an invader and goes into overdrive. These reactions can be anything from a mild case of hives and headache to severe sinus or breathing issues, to something called anaphylaxis which can kill you and requires a shot of epinephrine from a device such as an EpiPen. For more mild allergies, there are many treatments from simply avoiding what you're allergic to with food allergies to taking Benadryl or other over the counter medications for seasonal allergies. Some allergies require shots or drops under the tongue in hopes to retrain the immune system to no longer see the allergen as a threat, and "cure" the allergy. While some allergies are far more common than others, here's a list of 25 Of The Most Common Allergies. Peanut allergies are on the rise in the US and UK, and researchers aren't really sure why. What we do know is that reactions range from mild to fatal, and only require minimal contact to occur. Soy is a less common allergy that usually effects children, but it's a difficult one to have as soy is found in nearly every processed food, from baby formula to pre-prepared meat products and cooking oils (even if they aren't labeled as containing soy). Nickle is a metal (the metal the coin was originally made from), and some people are actually allergic to it. Often found in good costume jewelry, if your earring posts or necklaces make you itchy or leave behind a rash or dry flaky patches of skin, you may be allergic to nickle. Nickle is also commonly found in zippers, eyeglass frames, cell phones, and keys. Egg allergies are mostly common in children and are usually outgrown but not always. The proteins that cause the allergic reaction are actually only present in the egg white; however, all eggs must be avoided as it's impossible to not cross contaminate the egg yolk and white. Egg proteins are all used in many common vaccines, which is why your doctor will ask if you have an egg allergy before administering any vaccine. Penicillin is a group of antibiotics and one of the first sets of antibiotics to be regularly used. Discovered in 1928 by Alexander Flemming, penicillin was put into use regularly in 1942. Reactions range from a mild rash to anaphylaxis. Sulfates are chemicals that occur naturally in some foods and are added as a synthetic preservative in others. About 1 in 100 people are sensitive to these chemicals and reactions can be life threatening or something as simple as a mild headache. Tree nut allergies are one of the most common allergies in adults and children. Reactions can be life threatening and most experts recommend those with a tree nut allergy carry a epinephrine auto-injector pen with them at all times. Tree nuts include walnuts, hazelnuts, brazil nuts, and almonds among others. They do NOT include seeds such as sunflower or pumpkin seeds or peanuts which are technically a member of the legume (bean) family. An allergic reaction to apples is actually one of the more common culprits of Oral Allergy Syndrome, or OAS. If you get tingling, itching, or swelling in your lips, tongue, or throat after eating apples, you may be allergic. The proteins in apples break down when they're cooked, so many people who cannot enjoy raw apples can still enjoy apple pie and apple sauce. Formaldehyde is a chemical that is frequently used to treat fabrics, specifically anti-chlorine, anti-wrinkle, waterproof, and suede finishes. It's also found in some beauty products such as nail polishes. Contact with formaldehyde can cause rashes and contact dermatitis. And more... 5 Everyday Foods That Are Poisonous!

04:49
We know some foods are bad for us and others are good. For example a beef burger really gives you no valuable nutrition, with most of it being saturated fats & cholesterol. Even the protein is mostly useless as your body naturally struggles to absorb it. On the other hand raw fruit & veg gives you everything you need, and even though pound for pound it contains less protein your body absorbs it more efficiently. In this list we'll be showing you 5 everyday foods that are actually poisonous. --------------------SECOND CHANNEL------------------- Check out my second channel More5! for funny, weird, interesting news, along with the latest trending topics within the YouTube community. More5! - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPohYrquhWwA56kiaxJRe9A ------------------------------------------------------- Find Us On Twitter: https://twitter.com/OfficialAll5 Our Website: http://www.All5.me Music: "Your Call" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ ------------------------------------------------------- 5) Kidney Beans Although high in fiber which is essential for a healthy diet especially with digestion, kidney beans are actually slightly poisonous. Although they won't kill you, they can cause you to vomit & feel slightly under the weather. This is because kidney beans contain the toxin phytohaemagglutinin. However there is an easy way to make these beans non toxic. You simply have to boil them for around 10 minutes. Although is most cases there's nothing to worry about as most kidney beans you buy in stores come in tins, are usually already boiled before hand to remove the toxins. Should you ever consume raw kidney beans that have never been boiled, you will probably feel a sick for a few hours. 4) Nutmeg It's very popular to grate a bit of Nutmeg over pasta & cheese based dishes, and although this tiny amount won't do you any harm, nutmeg is actually quite a dangerous food. Consuming large doses could cause myristicin poisoning, which include symptoms such as headaches, nausea, dizziness and hallucinations. However in some cases it can even result in death. A scary facts is that there has been a small trend of teenagers purposely consuming larger doses of nutmeg by either eating or snorting it just to get a natural high. The hallucinations can be similar to LSD and last for up to 2 days. Whats more worrying is that these hallucinations don't kick in until a few hours which has caused people to take more and overdose. 3) Ackee Ackee is a very popular fruit especially in Jamaica. When ripe its totally safe to eat & I'm sure tastes delicious. However if the fruit is unripe it contains the toxins hypoglycin A and hypoglycin B. In the body, hypoglycin is converted to methylene cyclopropyl acetic acid, which can lead to vomiting, lethargy, unconsciousness, coma and even death. In 2011, ackee killed 23 Jamaicans and sickened 194 over a period of just three months. 2) Bitter Almonds Almonds come in two different types. Sweet Almonds & Bitter Almonds. In the stores you are only ever sold sweet almonds which are perfectly safe to eat as long as you don't have a nut allergy. Bitter almonds however are kind of like the evil twin. When eaten raw they contain substances that break down into cyanide. A 1982 study in the Western Journal of Medicine tells the cautionary tale of a 67-year-old woman who consumed raw bitter almonds and nearly died. Should you ever get your hands on bitter almonds, make sure you cook them well as that neutralizes the substances & makes them safe to eat. Eating them raw is extremely dangerous. 1) Elderberries Most uncooked elderberries are poisonous. They contain glycosides that, when metabolized, just like bitter almonds are converted into cyanide. This is why elderberries are never really sold raw & are only found in ingredients like jam where they have to be cooked. Elderberry poisonings are rare, but they do happen as most people think they are safe to eat. So when they see them in wild they may pick them, eat them and end up being poisoned. In 1983, eight people were hospitalized after downing home made juice made with raw elderberries. Although they were all in critical condition, they did luckily make a full recovery. Why the world is becoming more allergic

13:38
Around the world, children are far more likely than ever before to develop food allergies.  Recent inquiries into the deaths of two British teenagers after eating sesame and peanut highlighted the sometimes tragic consequences. In August, a six-year-old girl in Western died as the result of a dairy allergy. The rise in allergies in recent decades has been particularly noticeable in the West. Food allergy now affects about 7% of children in the and 9% of those in , for example. Across , 2% of adults have food allergies. Life-threatening reactions can be prompted even by traces of the trigger foods, meaning patients and families live with fear and anxiety. The dietary restrictions which follow can become a burden to social and family lives.  While we can't say for sure why allergy rates are increasing, researchers around the world are working hard to find ways to combat this phenomenon. What causes an allergy? An allergy is caused by the immune system fighting substances in the environment that it should see as harmless, known as allergens. These innocent substances become targets, leading to allergic reactions.  Symptoms range from skin redness, hives and swelling to - in the most severe cases - vomiting, diarrhoea, difficulty breathing and anaphylactic shock.  Some of the most common foods for children to be allergic to are: milk eggs peanuts tree nuts (eg walnuts, almonds, pine nuts, brazil nuts, pecans) sesame fish shellfish (eg crustaceans and molluscs) Where are food allergies most likely to occur? The frequency of food allergy has increased over the past 30 years, particularly in industrialised societies. Exactly how great the increase is depends on the food and where the patient lives. For example, there was a five-fold increase in peanut allergies in the between 1995 and 2016. A study of 1,300 three-year-olds for the EAT Study at , suggested that 2.5% now have peanut allergies.  has the highest rate of confirmed food allergy. One study found 9% of n one-year-olds had an egg allergy, while 3% were allergic to peanuts. The increase in allergies is not simply the effect of society becoming more aware of them and better at diagnosing them.  It is thought that allergies and increased sensitivity to foods are probably environmental, and related to Western lifestyles. We know there are lower rates of allergies in developing countries. They are also more likely to occur in urban rather than rural areas.  Factors may include pollution, dietary changes and less exposure to microbes, which change how our immune systems respond. Migrants appear to show a higher prevalence of asthma and food allergy in their adopted country compared to their country of origin, further illustrating the importance of environmental factors. Some possible explanations There is no single explanation for why the world is becoming more allergic to food, but science has some theories. One is that improved hygiene is to blame, as children are not getting as many infectio

Why did my baby throw up after eating almonds? He has ate them before and been fine.

02:13
You mentioned that you have a 2 1/2 year old son who ate an almond, and then he threw up, and you're wondering if maybe that happened because he's allergic. Although, you did also mention that he's had almonds in the past and he's done just fine. Because of that, the fact that he's had almonds in the past and done just fine, allergies are not the most likely explanation. However, it is possible. I recommend talking with your pediatrician again before giving him almonds again, and they can decide if allergy testing is necessary or, if the reaction wasn't severe enough, if they feel like it would be okay to introduce it in small amounts and see what happens again in the future. Reactions to an allergy can vary from mild to severe. Very common symptoms are hives, itching, swelling, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, those sorts of things that upset your stomach. And sometimes it can be so severe that a person stops breathing. Some of the most common food allergies include cow's milk, eggs, wheat, peanuts and other nuts that come from trees, soy, and fish, and shell fish. So nuts are definitely in that category. If it's not due to a food allergy, other possible explanations can include food poisoning, or side effects from medication. If you've noticed that your child gets a rash after they've eaten something, then sometimes it's just skin irritation from the use of new products or the clothes they're wearing. And a child might get diarrhea for many different reasons. Sometimes they can get from just drinking too much fruit juice. It could be just as simple as that. Sometimes, of course, they catch bugs and those types of things that cause them to have an upset stomach and diarrhea. So it's always good to consider allergies, because of course, you don't want to keep re-introducing them to having these terrible symptoms if it can be avoided. So again, if you have any suspicions that your child has an allergy, talk with your pediatrician, and after asking you more specific questions, they can decide if testing is necessary and if your child does indeed have an allergy. If you have any other questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/IntermountainMoms, and recommend us to your friends and family too.

Is Soy Bad for You?

05:26
For more info: https://draxe.com/is-soy-bad-for-you/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Feb-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=soy A common question I’ve received recently is, “Is soy bad for you?” The answer is, yes, the majority of the time. It all depends on the form you’re buying it in. Ninety-five percent of the soy out there today is bad for you. Soy was a different type of soy a long time ago versus the kind of soy we eat today. Today, processed soy contains phytoestrogens, which are estrogen-mimikers in the body. If you’re a male consuming soy, it will give you feminine characteristics or if you’re a female consuming soy, it puts you at risk for breast cancer and hormone imbalance disorders. Additionally 90% of soy today is genetically modified, which kills off the good bacteria in your gut, known as probiotics. Because of the phytoestrogens and GMOs, soy can actually be extremely harmful for you. This includes soy protein, soy milk, or any other soy product. On the other hand, soy can be good for you if it’s in an organic, fermented soy form. This type of soy, also known as Natto, is loaded with probiotics, it’s non-GMO, and high in vitamin K2. For more information on phytoestrogens, you can check out my article here: https://draxe.com/phytoestrogens/ *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. Children with life-threatening peanut allergies have been successfully treated - by eating peanuts. The largest clinical trial of its kind has shown that by eating increasing amounts of peanut protein every day children were able to train their immune systems to tolerate the nuts. By the end of the study 84% were able to eat at least five nuts without suffering an allergic reaction, according to results published in The Lancet medical journal. That would be enough to protect them against accidental exposure to peanuts in food. Doctors are warning parents that the treatment must be carried out under medical supervision and should not be attempted at home. http://news.sky.com/story/1203237/peanut-allergies-treated-using-peanuts SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube channel for more great videos: http://www.youtube.com/skynews Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/skynews and https://twitter.com/skynewsbreak Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/skynews For more great content go to http://news.sky.com and download our apps: iPad https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/Sky-News-for-iPad/id422583124 iPhone https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/sky-news/id316391924?mt=8 Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bskyb.skynews.android&hl=en_GB

8 Food items that shouldn't be given to babies below 12 months | Babygogo

02:32
We clubbed together 8 baby food items that should be avoided by kids till initial 12 months of age. Please give "thumbs up" to the video if you find it helpful :) #Honey: Babies under 12 months of age are at risk of Botulism. It’s a rare but dangerous type of poisoning that affects the nervous system. Baby food items containing botulism spores release a toxin that can poison infants & cause paralysis of the diaphragm. Honey is one such item that is spotted to have these spores. You should avoid using honey in any baby food recipes till 12 months of age. #Nuts: Nuts are not a very good option for 6-12 month baby food. Nuts can pose an allergy risk if included in food for babies under one year of age. Walnuts, Almonds, Cashews, Hazelnuts, Pistachios and Peanuts (not a nut though) should be avoided in baby food recipes. #Cow’s or buffalo’s milk: Babies can't digest this milk as easily as breast milk or formula. Cow's or buffalo’s milk contains high concentrations of protein & minerals, which are heavy on baby’s kidneys. Hence are not considered as a very good 6-12 month baby food. It doesn't have the right amounts of iron, Vitamin C & other nutrients for infants. #Peanut butter: Peanut butter is not good for 10 month baby as apart from the allergy that peanut can cause, the sticky consistency of peanut butter makes it hard for baby to swallow it. So it's always better not to include peanut butter in food for babies under the age of one. Even when introduced, spread it very thinly on bread or crackers. Or thin it with water or milk. #Citrus fruits: They are acidic for babies. And in addition to any allergy, citrus fruits aggravate acid-reflux and lead to diaper rash & rashes around mouth and lips. They should not be included as a baby food option for at least the initial stage of 10-12 months. #Egg white: It can cause egg protein allergy. With it’s ingestion, body releases chemicals known as histamines & produces symptoms such as runny nose, itchy eyes, a skin rash etc. Egg white should be avoided until 10-12 months of age. #Biscuits: Biscuits should not be given to babies as it contain negligible nutritional value. They are processed with preservatives and additives. The high sugar content in the biscuits appeals to baby eating food and make them crave for more. They should be avoided for as long as possible! There are tons of healthy baby food recipes and baby food items apart from these for a 6-12 month old baby. Read here about the nutritious baby food purees you can serve to your little one - https://www.babygogo.in/baby-food-recipes-6-12-months-old/ Note: Every country and culture is different. FOOD ALLERGY Symptoms, Causes & Treatments

05:15
FOOD ALLERGY Symptoms, Causes & Treatments OVERVIEW Food allergy is an immune system reaction that occurs soon after eating a certain food. Even a tiny amount of the allergy-causing food can trigger signs and symptoms such as digestive problems, hives or swollen airways. In some people, a food allergy can cause severe symptoms or even a life-threatening reaction known as anaphylaxis. Food allergy affects an estimated 6 to 8 percent of children under age 3 and up to 3 percent of adults. While there's no cure, some children outgrow their food allergy as they get older. It's easy to confuse a food allergy with a much more common reaction known as food intolerance. While bothersome, food intolerance is a less serious condition that does not involve the immune system. SYMPTOMS For some people, an allergic reaction to a particular food may be uncomfortable but not severe. For other people, an allergic food reaction can be frightening and even life threatening. Food allergy symptoms usually develop within a few minutes to two hours after eating the offending food. The most common food allergy signs and symptoms include: • Tingling or itching in the mouth. • Hives, itching or eczema. • Swelling of the lips, face, tongue and throat or other parts of the body. • Wheezing, nasal congestion or trouble breathing. • Abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting. • Dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting. Anaphylaxis In some people, a food allergy can trigger a severe allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. This can cause life-threatening signs and symptoms, including: • Constriction and tightening of the airways. • A swollen throat or the sensation of a lump in your throat that makes it difficult to breathe. • Shock with a severe drop in blood pressure. • Rapid pulse. • Dizziness, lightheadedness or loss of consciousness. CAUSES When you have a food allergy, your immune system mistakenly identifies a specific food or a substance in food as something harmful. In respose, your immune system triggers cells to release an antibody known as immunoglobulin E to neutralize the allergy-causing food or food substance (the allergen). The next time you eat even the smallest amount of that food, immunoglobulin E antibodies sense it and signal your immune system to release a chemical called histamine, as well as other chemicals, into your bloodstream. These chemicals cause allergy symptoms. In adults, the majority of food allergies are triggered by certain proteins in: • Shellfish, such as shrimp, lobster and crab. • Peanuts. • Tree nuts, such as walnuts and pecans. • Fish. In children, food allergies are commonly triggered by proteins in: • Peanuts. • Tree nuts. • Eggs. • Cow's milk. • Wheat. • Soy. TREATMENTS The only way to avoid an allergic reaction is to avoid the foods that cause signs and symptoms. However, despite your best efforts, you may come into contact with a food that causes a reaction. For a minor allergic reaction, over-the-counter or prescribed antihistamines may help reduce symptoms. These drugs can be taken after exposure to an allergy-causing food to help relieve itching or hives. However, antihistamines can't treat a severe allergic reaction. For a severe allergic reaction, you may need an emergency injection of epinephrine and a trip to the emergency room. Many people with allergies carry an epinephrine autoinjector. This device is a combined syringe and concealed needle that injects a single dose of medication when pressed against your thigh. If your doctor has prescribed an epinephrine autoinjector: Be sure you know how to use the autoinjector. Also, make sure the people closest to you know how to administer the drug — if they are with you in an anaphylactic emergency, they could save your life. Carry it with you at all times. It may be a good idea to keep an extra autoinjector in your car or in your desk at work. Always be sure to replace epinephrine before its expiration date or it may not work properly.

Peanuts are also less expensive than most other nuts, which is great if you’re looking to save money but still want the nutritional rewards. Peanuts help control blood sugar If you have diabetes, you need to consider the glycemic content of the foods you eat. Glycemic content is based on how quickly your body converts carbohydrates into glucose, or blood sugar. The glycemic index (GI) is a 100-point scale that rates foods on how rapidly they cause blood sugar to rise. Foods that cause a rapid rise in blood sugar are given a higher value. Water, which has no effect on blood sugar, has a GI value of 0. Peanuts have a GI value of 13, which makes them a low GI food. According to an article in the British Journal of Nutrition, eating peanuts or peanut butter in the morning may help control your blood sugar throughout the day. Did You Know This Amazing Health Benefits Of Peanut Butter! Peanut Butter comes with impressive health benefits. Some of the health benefits of Peanut Butter includes reducing appetite, boosting energy levels, reducing risk of heart disease, reducing risk of colon cancer, preventing cognitive decline, may help reduce allergies, helps prevent gallstone, helps maintain skin health, help maintain fluid balance, helps manage blood sugar level and help manage diabetes. Growing up, given that you weren’t allergic to peanuts, peanut butter was likely as an indispensable part of your childhood. Sure, it made for a quick convenient snack from your parent's point of view, but little did they do that it was actually very beneficial to your health. Nowadays, an excuse shouldn’t be needed for you to consume peanut butter, as regular consumption if advised. Just don’t overdo this super healthy indulgence, and you are well on your way to improved health. Dying to find out what eat more peanut butter can do for you? Let’s check it out: Amazing Health Benefits of Peanut Butter: 1. Helps Reduce Appetite: As humans, we have the problem of eating even when we do not need to, owing to the way food has been programmed into our brain. Naturally, overeating is not good in any form or fashion, making the urge to resist temptation a daily chore. However, consumption of nutrient-dense foods, such as peanut butter, can help to suppress your appetite and cravings, so that you stay satiated between meals and will not likely binge on some of those unhealthy snacks. The reason for this is thanks to its healthy fat and high protein content, both of which keep blood sugar levels steady and prevent frequent hunger. 2. Boosts Energy Levels: Need a quick pick me up in the middle of the day that is free from caffeine and other stimulants? Try two tablespoons of peanut butter. The fats found in it, along with fiber and protein are just what you need to stabilize insulin levels and ensure a constant energy supply for hours. You can consume it first thing in the morning if you need a stimulant free way to get an energy kick, especially if you work out after waking up. 3. Reduced Risk Of Heart Disease: Peanut butter contains lots of heart-friendly fats, including the poly and monounsaturated ones. These have the ability to reduce LDL levels and reduce the likelihood of atherosclerotic plaques being deposited on the walls of the blood vessels. This, in turn, will help to reduce your risk of heart attacks and strokes. 4. Reduces Risk Of Colon Cancer: Peanuts and peanut butter consumption appear to be associated with reduced risk of colon cancer, especially in women. Though the reason for this isn’t fully known, it could be related to the fiber content, coupled with anti-inflammatory unsaturated fats. These could help to prevent polyp growth in the column, a well-known pre-cursor to cancerous changes, even though these polyps are often benign and are not usually reason for alarm. Regardless, fewer polyps in the first place are always the best course of action. 5. Slows Down Or Prevents Cognitive Decline: As we age, our brains are subjected to some degree of cognitive decline, even as much as the significant impairment that our daily activities cannot be performed, or worst case- Alzheimer’s disease. Regular consumption of peanuts or peanut butter are associated with reduced risk of cognitive decline, and in many cases preventing it from impacting our lives significantly. In addition to its high anti-inflammatory fat content, niacin is believed to also play a key role here, as it was found that persons who consume the most niacin are up to 70% less likely to develop severe cognitive deficits. 6. May Help Reduce Allergies: Research has shown that people who start consuming peanut butter at a young age are at lower risk of developing serious allergies later on in life, including peanut allergies themselves. It was discovered that even when one possesses genetic peanut allergies, by introducing a very small amount of the allergen (in this case peanuts) frequently, the immune response to this is reduced significantly over time. The result is diminished allergic reactions, or elimination altogether. This effect also carries over to other types of allergens, as it believed that it helps modulate immune activity to not be hypersensitive. 7. Helps Prevent Gallstones: For years it was believed that gallstones were caused by high fat intake, however, it has now been proven that gallstones are much more common in people who follow a low-fat diet. In large part, most gallstones are cholesterol based, but can easily be remedies if enough cholesterol is present in the blood. Under these circumstances, the cholesterol acts as a solvent, and prevent the gallstones from forming, but rather dissolves it. Diets that are low in fat, lack the ability to efficiently dissolve these “stones” and so they form an occlusion. Peanut butter i
Sunflower Seed Butter the Peanut Butter Alternative with More Benefits!

12:55
Sunflower Seed Butter the Peanut Butter Alternative with More Benefits!. Remember when the only option you had to pair your jelly sandwiches with was peanut butter? Those days are long gone. With countless varieties of nut and seed butters, like almond and cashew, on the scene, there have never been more options to slather on toast or dip apples in. But have you heard about sunflower seed butter?. Although you might be familiar with sunflower seeds as a road trip snack, there’s a new way to use them that’s catching on. You can transform those plain old seeds into a yummy, healthy spread that’s packed with flavor. Like most nuts and seeds, it’s packed with nutritional benefits and mostly healthy fats, though it’s important to keep in mind that it’s relatively high in omega-6 fats, which can throw off your crucial omega-3 to omega-6 fats ratio. (Nonetheless, it’s much preferable to sunflower seed oil, which often includes polyunsaturated oils that have been heated and may go rancid.) But as long as you continue to consume omega-3 foods and keep your consumption of sunflower seed butter low, it can be a good alternative foranyone with a nut or peanut allergy (remember, peanuts are actually legumes!). Also, sunflower seeds are also fairly inexpensive, so whipping them up into a spread is an affordable and healthier option you can do at home. Sunflower Seed Butter Benefits. 1. High in Protein. Peanut butter has long been the reigning champion of portable, high-protein pre- and post-gym snacks. But sunflower seed butter can give it a run for its money. That’s because each serving of sunflower seed butter has about three grams of protein, a great size for a snack, particularly when paired with carbs. The health benefits of eating more protein foods are numerous, too. Protein ensures your muscles stay strong and your hard work exercising pays off. (1) You feel fuller and more satiated for longer, requiring you to eat less. (2, 3) It also helps your metabolism keep running smoothly to help you lose weight more quickly and provides your cells with the fuel they need to perform their best. (4) 2. Loaded with Vitamin E. Vitamin E is one of our body’s favorite antioxidants. It helps naturally balance cholesterol, keeping good and bad levels in check, according to research in the Journal of General Internal Medicine. (5) It also reduces free radical damage to naturally slow aging in our bodies and reduce cell damage — that’s why so many beauty products tout the vitamin E in their ingredients. (6) It even increases immunity, evidenced by research published in Vitamins and Hormones, so we’re better able to fight off infections and battle diseases, nature’s own way of battling the common cold. (7) Luckily, you don’t need to spend tons of money to take advantage of vitamin E. Sunflower seed butter is chock-full of the stuff. In fact, spreading just one tablespoon of it on your toast or eating it with fruit provides a whopping 24 percent of our body’s daily needs. 3. Loaded with Magnesium. The most important mineral in our bodies is magnesium, yet most people have some form of magnesium deficiency. That can have profound health effects, as magnesium is vital in keeping energy high, relieving muscle spasms, helping things go smoothly in the bathroom and helping us get deep, quality sleep at night. (8, 9, 10) In fact, in a study out of Iran, adults suffering from insomnia were given magnesium and compared with a control group. Researchers found that “dietary magnesium supplementation brought about statistically significant increases in sleep time and sleep efficiency.” They ultimately concluded that “magnesium appears to improve subjective measures of insomnia such as … sleep efficiency, sleep time and sleep onset latency, early morning awakening, and likewise, insomnia objective measures such as concentration of serum renin, melatonin, and serum cortisol, in elderly people.” (11) The presence of GMOs in many of our foods, the malabsorption of minerals because of digestive issues like leaky gut and high medication use all contribute to Americans’ low levels of magnesium. Thankfully, snacking on sunflower seed butter provides about 15 percent of what your body needs a day — not bad for just one tablespoon!. Chocolate Allergy: Symptoms, Causes, and More

08:59
Chocolate Allergy: Symptoms, Causes, and More Overview Chocolate is found in many popular desserts and even in some savory dishes. Though many people view chocolate as a sweet treat, there are some who have a sensitivity or allergy to chocolate or an ingredient in a chocolate-based food. Do you think you might have a problem with chocolate? Here’s how to tell whether cocoa or chocolate-based foods should be on your “no eat” list. Symptoms Chocolate allergies and chocolate sensitivities aren’t the same thing. If you are allergic to chocolate and eat it, your immune system will release chemicals like histamine into the bloodstream. These chemicals can affect your: eyes nose throat lungs skin digestive system If you have an allergy to chocolate, you may have some of these symptoms after eating it, or even just coming into direct contact with it: hives shortness of breath stomach cramps swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat vomiting wheezing These symptoms are part of a severe allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. This condition can be life-threatening if you don’t treat it right away. Allergies that may lead to anaphylaxis are diagnosed by high levels of immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies. A chocolate sensitivity or intolerance is different from an allergy in that it doesn’t involve IgE antibodies. However, other parts of the immune system may still be involved. And most of the time it isn’t life-threatening. If you have a sensitivity to the cocoa itself or to other ingredients like the amino acid tyramine, you may be able to eat small amounts of chocolate without any problem. But in larger amounts, chocolate can trigger a reaction in your GI tract or elsewhere in your body. People who are sensitive to chocolate can have symptoms like: acne bloating or gas constipation headaches or migraines skin rash, or contact dermatitis upset stomach The caffeine in chocolate can trigger its own set of symptoms, which include: shakiness trouble sleeping fast or uneven heartbeat high blood pressure headaches dizziness Causes You’re more likely to have a reaction to chocolate if you’re allergic to it or its source, which is cocoa. But ingredients in chocolate-based foods, such as milk, wheat, and nuts, can also set off a reaction. People with a gluten intolerance or celiac disease sometimes react to chocolate, especially milk chocolate. One theory is that this reaction is caused by cross-reactivity. In people with celiac disease, the body reacts to gluten. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. And chocolate contains a protein that’s similar in structure, so the immune system sometimes mistakes it for gluten. The immune system produces antibodies in response to gluten. These antibodies trigger symptoms like: bloating abdominal pain diarrhea vomiting Risk factors Some people react to the chocolate itself. For example, chocolate contains caffeine, which is a stimulant that’s considered a drug. It can cause shakiness, headaches, and other symptoms in people who are sensitive to it. Other people are allergic or sensitive to ingredients in chocolate-based foods, such as: nuts, like hazelnuts, peanuts, or almonds wheat milk sugar It may not seem obvious, but chocolate can also be a problem for people who have a nickel allergy. About 15 percent of the population is allergic to nickel. Dark and milk chocolate, cocoa powder, and many of the nuts found in chocolate bars are high in this metal. Chocolate is also often contaminated with the heavy metals lead and cadmium. Foods to avoid If you’re sensitive or allergic to chocolate or ingredients in chocolate products like nuts or milk, know what’s in your food. At restaurants, ask to have your meals and desserts prepared without chocolate. And when you go to the supermarket, read package labels to make sure the products you buy don’t contain chocolate or cocoa. Along with candy bars and other desserts, chocolate can hide in places where you might not expect. Cocoa is used to make certain soft drinks, flavored coffees, and alcoholic beverages, like brandy. You can also find it in some jams and marmalades. And, it’s an ingredient in the savory Mexican sauce, mole. Even some medications, including laxatives, may contain cocoa. Food substitutes People who are sensitive to chocolate may want to try carob. This legume is like chocolate in color and taste. And it can replace chocolate in just about any recipe, from chocolate bars to cookies. Carob is also high in fiber, low in fat, and sugar- and caffeine-free, so it can be a healthier dessert alternative.

The Military Diet Will Make You Lose 10 Pounds In 3 Days

09:40
If you do the Military Diet, it will make you lose 10 pounds in 3 days. That's very fast weight loss. There are many different types of diets that are constantly being advertised and recommended. The trouble is finding one that can actually “talk the talk and walk the walk.” According to Dr. Mark Hyman, a nine-time #1 New York Times bestselling author, states that one of the number one reasons diets fail is because the person doesn’t have a plan that fits them. Good health is not something that is just given to people, they have to plan and earn. These are some weight loss tips for you. #MilitaryDiet #DietPlan #LoseWeight Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music Summary: Here is the 3-day military diet that can help you lose 10 pounds! (This diet is intended for women, but men are recommended to add an extra 100 calories a day in the form of protein.) Breakfast may be one of the most essential meals of the day simply because it will give you that desired energy first thing in the morning and it can help kickstart your metabolism. For your first meal of this 3 day military diet you can have half a grapefruit, 1 slice of toast (preferably whole wheat or multigrain) with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. If you have a peanut allergy you can substitute it with almond butter, soy butter, sunflower seed butter, hummus, pumpkin butter, or bean dip. And any breakfast isn’t complete without 1 cup of black coffee or caffeinated tea. Please note, you cannot add any sugar, cream, milk or sweeteners into your coffee or tea. These beverages are not essential to the diet as you can substitute it with any amount of water. But green tea and coffee both have thermogenic properties (burns more calories) and black coffee has the ability to suppress your appetite. The next meal of the day (lunch) consists of half a cup of tuna, another slice of toast (but no peanut butter this time) and water, black coffee or tea. If you need to season your foods then go with alternatives such as garlic salt, pepper, honey mustard, and any other low or no calorie seasoning. For dinner, you can have 3 ounces of any type of meat, 1 cup of green beans, half a banana, one small apple and one cup of vanilla ice cream. As you can tell, there isn’t a lot of food in this diet and that’s because lowering calories is what causes weight loss. If you wanna drop the pounds, you got to cut the calories! The next morning, breakfast should include one slice of multigrain or whole wheat toast, one whole egg, and half a banana. This diet is intended to last three days, and then take 4 days off. Rinse and repeat until you achieve the results you desire. The 4 days off do not mean you can binge eat and eat yourself to sickness. The goal should still be to eat around 1,500 calories or less. For lunch, you are entitled to one cup of cottage cheese (or you can replace it with 1 slice of cheddar cheese), 1 hard boiled egg and 5 saltine crackers. Dinner is served! You can have two hot dogs (minus the buns), 1 cup of broccoli, half a cup of carrots, half a banana, and half a cup of vanilla ice cream. This diet dictates vanilla ice cream only (why? I have no clue) but you can substitute ice cream (who would do that?) with one cup of apple juice or one cup of vanilla, strawberry or banana flavored almond milk. The vegetables on this diet should be steamed, baked, boiled or eaten raw. Meat should be grilled or baked, and if you are a vegetarian then you can substitute the protein sources with tofu, lentils, beans and/or portobello mushrooms. The third and final day has arrived! You’re almost there, don’t give up now! For breakfast, you are to have 5 saltine crackers, 1 slice of cheddar cheese and 1 small apple. Saltine crackers can be replaced with rice cakes (one for one) and cheddar cheese can be replaced with ham, eggs, cabbage or soy cheese. Don’t forget your black coffee or caffeinated tea! This lunch is going to be a bit small but on the menu is one slice of whole wheat or multigrain toast and one hard boiled egg. You can switch the egg out for one cup of milk, or two slices of bacon or just one chicken wing. As you can probably tell, from day 1 to day 3 there is a slow and gradual reduction of even more calories (hence the rapid weight loss.) For the last meal of day 3, you can have 1 cup of tuna, half a banana and one cup of vanilla ice cream. And remember, there is no snacking allowed on this diet. You need to eat these foods and these foods only. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to Bestie : https://goo.gl/tUqro6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bestieinc/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.bestie.com/

What Is The Best Treatment For Hives | Best Treatment For Urticaria

Visit ►► https://urticaria.e-solutions.site ◄◄ What Is The Best Treatment For Hives | Best Treatment For Urticaria Hi my name is Erin Hardy! Welcome to my channel and to this video, today I will teach you what is the best treatment for hives. Follow the step by step instructions to have great results. If you haven’t been able to pinpoint the exact cause of your chronic urticaria, you might need to begin an elimination diet. To begin an elimination diet, remove all potential food allergens from your diet. Then, reintroduce foods -- one at a time -- about every five days. Throughout the process, keep a food journal to log the types and amounts of foods you eat, along with any symptoms you experience. Since you are introducing foods one at a time, you should be able to identify any that trigger your chronic urticaria symptoms. Your physician can help you determine which foods you should eliminate. Typical food groups eliminated from the diet include dairy products, eggs, citrus fruits, foods made with corn, foods that contain gluten and processed foods. Certain foods contain histamine, a protein heavily involved in allergic reactions. When histamine is released in the body, it causes blood vessels to become more permeable. As a result, fluids rush into the area and cause swelling. Histamine also triggers smooth muscle to contract, which can be quite dangerous when it affects the muscles surrounding the airways. Since histamine plays such a significant role in allergic reactions, your physician might recommend avoiding histamine-containing foods to lessen the severity of your chronic urticaria. On the histamine-restricted diet, foods to avoid include cheese, yogurt, buttermilk, shellfish, fish, eggs, chocolate, aged foods, fermented foods, artificial food colorings, processed meats and many types of fruits and vegetables. People with chronic urticaria are often quite sensitive to salicylates, a substance present in aspirin and certain foods, according to the International Chronic Urticaria Society. If your doctor recommends a salicylate-restricted diet, avoid most plant-based foods. This includes nearly all fruits except apples, pears and mangoes that are peeled and cored. Although most vegetables are quite low in salicylates, peeling and cooking them before consumption can be beneficial if you have chronic urticaria. Additional foods to avoid include almonds, peanuts, water chestnuts, artificial colors and artificial flavorings. Even if your condition does not require you to follow a specific urticaria diet, avoid any foods that trigger a urticaria episode or worsen your symptoms. These food triggers can vary from one person to the next – and an elimination diet can help you to initially determine which foods you need to avoid. Now you can reverse urticaria in a safe and natural way, if you want to discover how to change your life visit right now my website ►► https://urticaria.e-solutions.site ◄◄ Because I do not now how much longer this information will be available on the internet.
