Diabetes Drug Has No Effect on Fatty Liver Disease

00:38
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease has been linked with diabetes, but new research finds that diabetes drugs have no effect on the liver disorder. A new double-blind study of the drug Januvia, showed that drug to have the same effect as a placebo on N.A.F.L. There is no current drug treatment for Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The silver lining of the study is that researchers also found that it might not be necessary to perform biopsies to diagnose N.A.F.L. http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2016/05/12/Diabetes-drug-placebo-work-the-same-on-fatty-liver-disease/1551463079968/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

10 FOODS & SUPPLEMENTS THAT REVERSE LIVER DISEASE – HEALTHY LIFESTYLE !! In this video, we’re going to focus on fatty liver disease. This disease can be caused by two different factors. Alcoholic liver disease can be commonly seen among alcoholics. It is a condition in which blood can’t break down alcohol properly, so it causes an additional burden to the liver. The most common liver issue in the West is the nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. This type of disease is usually noticed in obese and middle-aged people. The condition encloses excessive fatty buildups in the liver. If you want to boost the function of your liver as well as reverse the damage, you have to introduce some healthy lifestyle changes. TRY THE FOLLOWING FOODS AND SUPPLEMENTS TO REVERSE LIVER DISEASE EFFICIENTLY: BANANAS: Bananas are abundant in potassium. If you want to cleanse your liver naturally, you should eat more bananas! They also enhance your digestion, and ease the elimination of toxins. GINGER: Ginger is a root which contains fiber and we all know how essential fiber is for our digestive tract, as well as the detoxification of your body. Add ginger into meals, salads or smoothies. SWEET POTATOES: The potassium present in sweet potatoes stimulates the cleansing of your liver. Only one sweet potato offers over 700 milligrams of potassium. It also contains various other nutrients and minerals like iron, magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and Vitamin D. This type of potatoes also provides huge anti-inflammatory potential and that is extremely useful in the treatment of fatty liver disease. TURMERIC: The golden yellow spice is abundant in various health benefits. It possesses a very powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential which reduces inflammation, and soothes digestive issues. Turmeric is excellent for the cleansing function of your liver. Popular Diabetes Medication Linked to Kidney Failure

10:53
According to latest data from the Centers for Disease Control, more than 29-million Americans suffer from diabetes, and nearly one of four people with the disease aren't even aware that they have it. Even worse, as many as 86-million Americans currently suffer from pre-diabetes, and if preemptive measures aren't taken they too will be diagnosed with full-blown diabetes in a matter of years. With so many people suffering from both type one and type two diabetes, Big Pharma saw an opportunity to make a huge profit. In the rush to cash in on the diabetic epidemic they cut corners. They created a product that's causing as much harm, if not more, than the actual disease itself. That product is called Invokana. Mike Papantonio discusses this with attorney Tim O'Brien. First Signs of Liver Failure

03:03
http://liverdisease.blogstips.org/ First Signs of Liver Failure The liver performs a variety of functions within the human body, such as purifying blood, assisting with the digestion of food, and diluting or removing harmful chemicals that are introduced into the body. The human body cannot function properly without a healthy liver. There are a number of signs of liver failure, including jaundicing of the skin or nails, fatigue and weakness, and abdominal pain, as well as fluid accumulation, mental confusion, and internal bleeding as the disease progresses. Many of the early signs of liver failure are general in nature and can be mistaken for signs of a variety of other illnesses or diseases. A general sense of fatigue and weakness, for example, is one of the early symptoms of liver failure. Although pain in the abdomen usually accompanies liver disease, the pain may not be severe or constant during the early stages of liver failure. Any signs of liver failure should be taken very seriously as the human body depends on the liver to function normally. The liver may fail due to hereditary problems or defects that were present at the time of birth. More commonly, however, liver failure is the result of toxic chemicals that have introduced in the body. Cirrhosis is scar tissue of the liver. It all starts with insulin resistance from consuming alcohol, high carb diet, junk foods, sugar, frequent eating, drugs and even a virus. Insulin resistance could also cause a lot of inflammation from high levels of insulin which could also make it worse. The combination of a fatty liver and inflamed liver could cause scar tissue that could lose the function. He also talked about how insulin resistance is associated with diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity and cirrhosis. Categories of Cirrhosis: 1. Compensated Cirrhosis – Where the body is compensating, there is no symptoms. 2. Decompensated Cirrhosis – This is where you start experiencing all the symptoms. Symptoms of Liver Cirrhosis: • Spider Angioma – Red spider web-like veins • Xanthomas – Small cholesterol spots around the eyelids • Jaundice – The white of the eyes and the skin become yellow. • Thin Skin – You can’t make collagen anymore. • Ascites – Fluid filled sac around the mid-section. • Gynecomastia – breast tissue • Clubbed Finger Nail • Edema in the Lower Leg • Red Palm • Confusion • Bruising • Itchy Skin • Cognitive Problems Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 52 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. What is Fatty Liver Disease and how is it treated?

02:24
Fatty Liver disease is becoming more common in the U.S. as rates of obesity, diabetes and metabolic disease increase. As Na Li, MD, PhD, a gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Ohio State explains, Fatty Liver disease is often asymptomatic and diagnosis is made following an abnormal blood test or is an incidental finding following an ultrasound, MRI or CAT scan for another medical condition. Although there are no medications for Fatty Liver Disease, treatment includes diet changes and exercise. Dr. Li emphasizes the importance of patient education and the team approach used at Ohio State to treat not only the Fatty Liver disease, but the other health issues a patient might face. Diabetes and Kidney Problems

Click on http://stayhealthyvideos.com/kidneydisease to learn more about kidney health in general. Click on http://stayhealthyvideos.com/kidneydiet to get detailed information about a kidney healthy diet. Transcript: It's no coincidence that diabetes and kidney problems are related. People who have diabetes also, often, have kidney problems. To understand why this relationship between diabetes and kidney problems exists, you have to know a little bit about the anatomy of the kidneys--and how diabetes damages them. Put simply, the kidneys filter the blood through millions of tiny blood vessels called capillaries. Molecules of waste products are small enough to squeeze through these capillaries, and eventually, they're removed from the system as urine. However, substances that the body needs, like proteins and red blood cells, are too large to pass through the capillaries, so they stay within the system. Diabetes causes kidney problems by interfering with this filtering process. Unusually high levels of sugar cause the kidneys to work harder and eventually these filters become more porous. Waste products and toxins are no longer flushed out. Damage to the kidneys - possibly leading to chronic kidney disease and even kidney failure - may result. Furthermore, when you have diabetes, the body doesn't use glucose, or sugar, effectively. The glucose stays in your blood and begins to act like a toxin. Dangers of Diabetes and Kidney Disease As previously mentioned, diabetes can cause so much damage to your kidneys that they eventually fail. If this happens, you may need kidney dialysis or even a kidney transplant. In either case, there's a significant impact on your health and your quality of life. Dialysis employs use of an artificial kidney--a machine--to clean your blood. Kidney transplantation, of course, means using a kidney from a kidney donor to replace the kidney or kidneys that no longer work. Transplantation is major surgery requiring a lot of recovery time and lifestyle changes. Protecting Your Kidneys If You Have Diabetes To prevent kidney disease, you have to control your diabetes by keeping blood sugar in your target range. It's also important to keep your blood pressure down. The higher your blood pressure, the faster kidney disease progresses. When you have diabetes, even a slight increase in blood pressure can have a dramatic and deleterious effect on your kidneys. As any doctor will tell you, the best way to keep blood pressure in a healthy range is to get some aerobic exercise at least three times a week (elevating your heart rate for at least 20-30 minutes each time), eat a healthy, low fat, low cholesterol diet, with a minimum of salt, and avoid tobacco completely and keep your alcohol consumption moderate.

Low Blood Sugar, Intermittent Fasting & Your Liver

05:05
Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY Dr. Berg talks about low blood sugars, intermittent fasting and your liver. When you have hypoglycemia, your adrenals compensate to raise in sugar but ALSO your liver. Your brain is the number one target for symptoms from hypoglycemia. If you have liver scar tissue as in cirrhosis or a fatty liver, this can lessen the function of the liver. The liver normally makes glycogen, which is stored sugar and releases it between meals to stabilize low blood sugar, and having damaged liver can lessen this function causing more low blood sugar problems. Your liver also makes a hormone called Insulin-Like Growth Factor (IGF-1), which mobilizes the fat and stored sugar for energy, when you are not eating. Again, if you have a damaged liver, you can suffer the symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). To remedy this, its vital you consume enough VEGETABLES. Fatty Liver Disease

01:23
Doctors say fatty liver disease could be one of the first signs of diabetes, but there are usually no symptoms. Dr. Michael Bays, a gastroenterologist on staff at Lee Health, says everyone has a small amount of fat in their liver. “The liver is one of the places that’s responsible for metabolizing and creating fat. It’s where it creates insulin. You’re going to have some fat in the liver but the issue would be--are your liver enzymes abnormal?” Dr. Bays says when there’s too much fat in the liver it’s time to be concerned. “If you have fat in your liver it does indicate that you’re probably becoming somewhat insulin resistant, which may mean pre-diabetic.” Ninety percent of people who have abnormal liver enzymes have fatty liver disease. “When you see someone that has abnormal liver enzymes and has a slightly elevated liver on an ultrasound suggesting some fat in the liver, then you want to treat them with weight loss, make sure they’re not diabetic, and make sure they’re watching their sugar intakes, and checking their cholesterol levels,” said Dr. Bays. Doctors say most patients with fatty liver disease are overweight. If diagnosed patients need to make immediate diet and lifestyle changes to try to prevent the onset of diabetes. “The treatment is: try to keep your BMI low, make sure you avoid simple sugars, and stay away from the diabetic profile,” said Dr. Bays. It’s also important to be physically active and have regular visits with your doctor. Cirrhosis of the Liver Nursing Care Management Symptoms NCLEX

34:23
Cirrhosis of the liver nursing NCLEX review over the symptoms, nursing care/management, pathophysiology, complications, and treatments. Cirrhosis is a liver disease where liver cells become extremely damaged due to long-term/severe damage. This damage can be from a viral infection (Hepatitis B or C), heavy alcohol consumption, obesity, hyperlipidemia, bile duct problem, autoimmune etc. These damaged liver cells are replaced with fibrous tissue, and this leads to scarring of the liver. The role of the liver is to filter the blood and perform the following functions to it: metabolizing, detoxifying, storing, producing etc. When liver cells are damaged these processes do not happen. Complications of cirrhosis include: portal hypertension, splenomegaly, ascites, jaundice, hepatic encephalopathy, esophageal varices etc. All of these conditions are discussed in depth in the video. During the early stages of cirrhosis the patient may be asymptomatic, however, in the late stages the patient will have signs and symptoms that include: asterixis, fetor hepaticus, jaundice, reduced platelets and white blood cells, spider angiomas, ascites, gynecomastia, increase ammonia level etc. Nursing interventions for cirrhosis include monitoring for bleeding, abnormal glucose levels, implementing a proper diet: if patient has confusion (hepatic encephalopathy) they need a low protein diet, however, if patient isn't confused they need a high lean protein diet, low sodium, fluid restriction, assessing for rupture of varices, administering lactulose etc. Treatment for cirrhosis includes a liver transplant and medications such as diuretics, blood products, vitamin K, beta blocker or nitrates. In addition to a paracentesis. which helps remove fluid from the abdomen, if ascites is present. What is Fatty Liver Disease & can it cause Liver Failure & Cancer if neglected? - Dr. Ravindra B S

01:37
Whenever there is a fatty liver disease in the ultrasound, you should be worried because fatty liver disease in the ultrasound indicates that there is cholesterol developing in the body or we are developing prediabetes, that is something we should be aware of a fatty liver disease. Whenever there is a fatty liver disease, still now we used to neglect thinking that it is just an enlargement of the liver but fatty liver disease is the common reason for liver cirrhosis as well as liver cancer. That is why when we see fatty liver disease in the ultrasound, we should check for any sugar problem, any cholesterol problem or infections such as Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C. If fatty liver disease is there, their new method to find it out and that is called as fibroscan. We look at the liver by fibroscan and usually if there is any liver disease, then we usually treat them with vitamins, if they have sugar, we treat them with diabetes medicine. If they have cholesterol, we target them with cholesterol medicines. Most important message for fatty liver disease patients are that they have to reduce their weight and do exercise and they should cut down on their fats. This is the way to reduce fatty liver disease.

Fruit Juices Cause Diabetes, Fatty Liver Disease, Cancer, Strokes, Heart Disease, and IBD

14:53
Is Fructose in Fruit a Savior or an Executioner? Fructose has become the latest fad in the fight against diabetes because the body produces insulin at a lower rate than during the metabolism of glucose. Fructose is absorbed directly into the bloodstream in the small intestine without the need for an enzymatic reaction or digestion and is delivered by the hepatic portal vein directly to the liver where it is metabolized by synthesis into glycogen and further into fatty acids and triglycerides. In plain English, consuming fructose from fruit results in an increase in triglycerides—a major risk factor for heart disease. This occurs without insulin, thus reducing the glucose and insulin surge that occurs when high-glycemic foods are eaten. (The glycemic index is a measure of the amount and time required for the body to produce blood glucose from the digestion of carbohydrates and starches.) Fructose is highly recommended in nearly every diet and special food designed and sold for the diabetic, but fructose has two deadly properties. • It causes insulin resistance in the cells of the body—the major cause of diabetes. • The liver instantly converts it into blood fats. Fructose is the diabetic's worst enemy. Fructose has become the new health food fad even though researchers have known for decades that mice are fed high levels of fructose in order to deliberately make them diabetic for research purposes. Actually, fructose obtained from eating fruit is metabolized into triglycerides in the blood faster than you can swallow. Fruit is nature's candy. Fatty Liver Disease and Diabetes Welcome to another HealthNews video news release brought to you by HealthNews. In today’s news we look at the possible link between fatty liver disease and diabetes. The most common cause of liver disease used to be alcohol, but now sugar consumption has proven to be the new villain. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) occurs when excess fat is stored in your liver. Research now indicates that a fatty liver may also contribute to pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes. The liver plays an important role in regulating the body’s blood sugar. A buildup of fat in the liver prevents this vital organ from accepting the sugar thus causing blood sugar levels to rise higher and higher. How do you know if you have a fatty liver? People who store fat primarily in the belly are more prone to storing fat in their liver. If you have a big belly and small hips, you are likely to be at a high risk for a fatty liver and diabetes. Happily, there are ways to get the fat out of your liver including: Exercise: Contracting muscles draw tremendous amounts of sugar from the bloodstream with the greatest effects during exercise and for up to 1 hour after. Diet: Avoid foods that cause a high rise in blood sugar, especially sugar-added foods and sweetened drinks, including fruit juices. Remember your best source for everything health is your chiropractor. Visit your chiropractor regularly and make sure your nervous system is functioning 100%.
