Daihatsu Zebra Hijet Turbo Speeduino Build

02:31
A very short documentary video about how i change "the heart" of this 1992 daihatsu zebra (hijet). This project started in november 2017. It began when were cruising back to home after little short trip, in middle of the highway the origin engine that has been lived since 1992 finally gave up. The journal bearing gap cant hold it anymore. But we made back to home safe and sound by drove it slowly and rev it not more than 2000 RPM. After do some research due the budget constraints i decide it to find some EFI engine with same engine layout (this is "half boxer" mid engine ✌🏼). Short story I've got the engine but doesn't included the ECU & wiring harnesses so i decided to use DIY standalone ECU called #speeduino that comes with affordable prices but i had to imported the all components by my self from USA. EFI & Programmable EMS? Force Induction sounds possible 🤔 Based on the engine workshop manual book. The compression for my engine is 9.5:1 ratio, which is not a very high compression for this particular engine so i can give a little boost around 7-10 PSI. But there's one major problem. The engine lay down about 60° so with the exhaust manifold, the turbo and oil pan literally at the same level which is the oil return from turbo not possible to get back to the oil pan just by the gravity. So i came idea to use non pressurised oil catch tank under the turbo and by using electric oil pump to sump the oil back to oil pan. First candidate i think im gonna use IHI rhf3 or rhf4 for my projext car, but accidentally my friend said that he had a used turbo in his storages room but he doesn't know the type. It only marked as toyota. The fact is Toyota CT20a Journal Bearing #turbo from 2JZ-GTTE engine in a pretty good condition and he gave me with affordable price 😁. What about the intercooler? I'm using OEM Nissan GTR 35 intercooler that i get many years ago for free ✌🏼 (for the first blow-through carburetors turbo project). Engine ☑ Turbocharger ☑ Standalone EMS ☑ Intercooler ☑ Wiring Harness? Fuel pump? Fuel filter? Electric oil pump? Blow-off Valve? Air filter? Water line, fuel line, oil line for turbo? Other, other and many other things? The fuel pump, fuel filter, oil pump for the turbo oil return, oil cooler, and bunch of other things i bought it from eBay even though the shipping time is killing me. But some common part i bought it from local e-commerce. And other specified things like hose & wiring stuff i bought it at local industrial market place. In late june 2018 the new engine alive for the first time using #speeduino EMS. Its time for tuning and mapping this 4 cylinder 16 valve boosted CT20a turbo engine. ☘️ Song : And The Sky Unfold 3 - Johannes Bornlöf Instagram @ujibd https://www.instagram.com/ujibd/

Today’s blog is entitled How To Spray Basecoat Correctly - Custom Paint on Daihatsu Mini Truck. What we’re doing now is wax and grease removing all of our parts. They are all washed down and sanded with 400-grit, ready to prime. I’m cleaning everything down with the shop towels that we have. Then, we’re going to clean it up with the tack rag. After which, we’re ready for the white basecoat. This is going to be a three-tone paint job with a mid coat pearl. I’m using a rustoleum 1k primer, but the only problem with this is you can’t wax and grease it once it dries because it will melt it. If you are using a 2K aerosol primer, you can sand it with 400-grit after it dries then tack it down. Remember, not use a wax and grease remover on top of it. In this video, we’re covering the bare plastic areas and metal areas because you shouldn’t be painting over metal or plastic directly because it may bleed through or will give you some sort of imperfection. The next part is sanding our rustoleum primer with 400-grit to get it ready for paint. You may need to use up to 2 pieces of paper, depending on what you did because it kicks up the paper really quickly since you’re not wet sanding. However, you don’t want to wet sand now because you shouldn’t have any wet panels at this stage to avoid any water to go in between cracks. You don’t want to have water seeping out of the seams when you’re painting your basecoat and clearcoat. I’m now using my Bulldog Adhesion Promoter on top of my raw plastic parts. The adhesion promoter helps to spray basecoat right over. You could have painted with the plastic parts with a 2K primer, but what I did is scuff them down quick, laid some adhesion promoter and then did my basecoat clearcoat on top of it. In this project, we’re using the Atom Mini X16 Spray Gun. The new version of this Mini Spray Gun is flat black gray powder coat with black and gold knobs. The Atom Spray guns are great quality and are awesome to spray with. Grab one of these Atom Mini X16 Spray Gun on Zoolaa now. Watch the rest of the video to learn more. The Basic Parts of an Automatic Transmission (Part 1)

28:14
Visit me at: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ This is part one of my front wheel drive (FWD) automatic transmission dissection video. In this video I cover the operation of clutches, bands, accumulators, clutch drums, the oil pump, the valve body, valves, check balls, seals and 'o' rings, as well as the construction and function of many of the internal hard parts of an automatic transmission. To be honest a rear wheel drive transmission isn't much different as many of the basic components are the same. I guess what I'm saying is that you could use the information in this video to have a basic understanding of a rear wheel drive automatic transmission also. It is just a basic overview of the main components. I don't get into theory and operation so much. Just the general operation and identification of the parts. I may make more videos on this topic based on the comments I get so feel free to ask questions and perhaps I'll answer them in a future video on this topic. There will also be a separate video on the parts and operation of the torque converter as well. When that is posted I'll post links below to that video. How to use a tyre repair kit

03:30
Join the conversation: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/toyotauk Twitter: https://twitter.com/toyotagb Google+: https://plus.google.com/+toyotauk Instagram: http://instagram.com/toyotauk When you notice you have a puncture, do not continue driving your Toyota, as this can rapidly damage both the tyre and wheel. Stop your car safely and away from traffic if possible. If needed, set up a warning triangle and turn on the hazard lights. Apply the parking brake so the car doesn’t accidentally move. Locate and examine the puncture. Don’t use the repair kit if it is larger than 4 millimetres in diameter, if the wheel rim is damaged, or if the tyre has been flat or at low pressure for an extended period. Move the vehicle so that the puncture is positioned as high as possible in the top half of the tyre. If a nail or screw is in the tyre – a common occurrence – do not remove it. Make sure also that the air valve is positioned in the top half of the tyre. This will help stabilise the bottle of sealant you will be using. The Toyota tyre repair kit is located in the boot under the false floor. The kit consists of a compressor for re-inflating the tyre, a bottle of sealant you’ll use to fill the hole, and warning stickers. First apply a sticker to the wheel to show there is sealant in the tyre. Apply another to the A-pillar to remind you to change the wheel at the next opportunity. Remove the valve cap and screw the sealant bottle tightly on the valve. Then remove the cap from the end of the sealant bottle. Unravel the hose at the back of the compressor and screw it tightly onto the sealant bottle. Unravel the wiring connected to the compressor and plug it into the auxiliary socket inside the car. For a non-hybrid vehicle, start the engine. For a hybrid vehicle have the “ready” light on. Turn on the compressor. It should take no more than 10 minutes to inflate the tyre to an acceptable level. Then switch off the compressor and press the yellow button to test the pressure in the tyre. It is important to check your owner’s manual for the correct pressure level for your vehicle. If the tyre does not reach this you will need to call a recovery service. If the pressure is OK, remove the sealant bottle from the valve and re-install the valve cap. You then need to drive about 3 miles, as the sealant spreads itself around and over the punctured area. Drive with caution because the tyre is not yet fully re-inflated. Then stop and re-examine the tyre. If it appears damaged, you should call a recovery service. If it remains inflated and looks OK, refit the kit and continue to inflate the tyre to the pressure listed in the owner’s manual. The car is now safe to drive. But don’t exceed 50 miles per hour. And accelerate, brake and corner gently. The repair is only a temporary measure. Go to a Toyota repairer as soon as you can. There you will receive expert assistance and the best possible care for your Toyota – ensuring that your driving experience remains safe and pleasurable.

Daihatsu F20 forsale £3500

01:23
Daihatsu F20 TAFT 1978 SWB 4x4 (T Reg Petrol) For Sale £3500 Very rare Hard top model (only a handful left in the UK). An opportunity to own an affordable historic vehicle at a reasonable price MOT exempt now due to 40 yr age, DVSA confirmed. Road tax required but will be exempt from April 2019, currently SORN. V5 (log book) in my name, & present. This lightweight 4x4 was subject to a restoration a number of years ago. Mechanically these cars are bomb proof and this vehicle is no exception to that, it’s the body work has always proved to the Achilles heel. The body on this example has clearly been worked on previously and there are areas of surface rust appearing on some of the panel joints but it is 40 years old and reasonable allowance should be made for this, overall it is a very tidy solid vehicle. Hole in rear silencer box (£140 for section on Internet) It has manual free-wheeling front axle hubs, high / low transfer box which means 2 or 4 wheel drive in high ratio and 4 wheel drive in low ratio, a Tow bar is fitted but Towing electrics have not been tested by me. The displayed mileage is approx. 47,501 miles (but this cannot be authenticated). The engine is standard, being the 12R Toyota 1.6 litre 4 cylinder unit (which was also fitted to a variety of vehicles between 1969 and 1988 such as the Corona, HiAce and HiLux). New rocker gasket fitted 10/8/18. This little truck starts first time, ticks over smoothly and quietly, pulls really well and does not smoke at all (Electronic Ignition in the shape of a Pertronix in-distributor type is also fitted with a replacement coil) restarting when hot does require a little more turning over but it has never failed to start for me. The vehicle appears to have always been green all its life and the interior is testament to this however it was obviously resprayed at the time of restoration with a matt finish giving it a military look (not great!) Bull bar and spots fitted. The driver’s seat has been swapped for a MX5 seat giving more support and comfort, the passenger is original but not in the best condition, the original driver’s seat will come with the vehicle as will the passenger MX5 replacement seat to fit at your leisure. The original jack and tools are also present as is a Haynes manual for the period HiAce / HiLux which has an identical engine and the Original hand book. This is a rare gem of a little 4x4 that doesn’t often come up for sale in this condition very often at all. Guaranteed lots of Smiles per mile, great fun to drive and a real stand out from the crowd vehicle. Viewing is highly recommended. Price £3,500 ono Extras: Inside cover, 1970's brochure, lots of paperwork This vehicle is advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Open to sensible offers but only after the vehicle has been viewed please. Strictly no swaps or part exchanges thanks, I'm not a trader and need to sell due to changed of circumstances. £3500 Ono Please feel free to ask questions but be patient for replies as I work shifts. I'm located Newport, Shropshire (West Midlands)

How To Change Gearbox Oil - Daihatsu Cuore & Mira L512S - Avanzato TR-XX R4 Project Episode 6

06:19
Changing the gearbox, transfer case, and rear axle oils on my Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato TR-XX R4 project car. Not a bad job to do once you know where the drain and fill plugs are! Reference for servicing specs (Japanese): http://www.geocities.jp/club_30th/l500_sdata.htm The FAQs: "So this is a Mira, right?" - Yes, sort of. It is basically identical to the L500 (specifically, the L512S) Daihatsu Mira TR-XX Avanzato R4. "Don't Mighty Car Mods have one of these?" - Again, sort of. They're a very close relative of the Daihatsu MCM's Marty is a big fan of. The car in their Kei To The City film (and Marty's later conversion project) share much of this car's DNA. "Didn't Regular Car Reviews drive one of these?" - Yes! On the RCR UK trip, they drove an almost identical UK-spec Cuore Avanzato. I actually met the owner at the RCR UK meetup. It's actually my Suzuki Cappuccino that they mention in the video about the meet. "What does Cuore Avanzato even mean, anyway?" - It's Italian, actually. "Cuore" means "Heart", and "Avanzato" means "Advanced". "I drove one of these in Gran Turismo, and it said it was front wheel drive, not all wheel drive?" - They did 2WD/FWD versions of the turbo Miras in Japan, too, the "4" in the name is what denotes the AWD/4WD/4x4 version. "Is it a kei car?" - Yes, it meets the kei car regulations, though whether it "counts", being a UK car, is an interesting question. "Is it JDM?" - No, it's a UK model, there are some subtle differences/modifications for the UK market, though nothing earth shattering. "Did they really only make 80 of them?" - Of the UK road car version, yes, give or take a couple, plus there were about 20 rally-prepared ones. The Japanese equivalent is far more common. "Is it a 3 cylinder engine?" - No, it's a 4 cylinder, the Daihatsu JB-JL 16v engine, though it meets the same 660cc capacity limit for kei cars that the three cylinders used elsewhere do. "Is it turbocharged?" - Yes, with a small top-mount intercooler. "How does the AWD work?" - There is a selectable drive to the rear coming off the gearbox, with a viscous coupling between the rear differential and the propshaft to allow for the difference in wheel speeds when cornering. "How much does it weigh?" - 768kg, per the UK original specification sheet. "Where can I get one?" - To be perfectly honest, it's a lot easier to find a JDM one as an import than a UK car, but if you keep an eye on Ebay and forums, one might come up. "Is it for sale?" - I'm afraid not, no. AISIN 4x4 Locking Hub Dial - Clutch to Pawl Assembly - FIX IT DIY! Toyota Suzuki Mitsubishi Isuzu

07:48
This video is specifically covering the assembly of the AISIN Sekei 4x4 manual locking hub clutch assembly. Often times people take the hub apart to clean it, but then find when they put it back together it locks the first time they turn the dial to the "Lock" position, but then, when they turn it to the "Free" position, it stays locked. This is caused by an improper assembly of the Clutch, Spring, and Follower Pawl. It's an easy fix, but it's not intuitive. You don't have to remove the hub body, just the dial cover. All you'll need is a ratchet, a 10mm socket, and a small screwdriver. Amazon Affiliate link for the Toyota Gasket that goes between the hub dial body and the locking hub: https://amzn.to/2T2Cpzl I wasn't paid to promote this amazon link, but if you do buy something on amazon from this link I'll get a small commission paid by amazon and/or the seller. No extra cost to you.

In this episode of Mighty Car Mods, Marty and Moog find out, with some surprising results... https://www.facebook.com/mightycarmods Stickers, music, magazines and MCM gear: http://www.mightycarmods.com/collections/ Discuss this episode here: http://forums.mightycarmods.com/forum/general-mighty-car-mods-discussion/general-discussion/956779-performance-chips-mythbusted-episode-discussion Also something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Talk to a qualified mechanic if you are in any doubt.

Become a DIY auto body pro! Get a FREE A-Z Guide on how to paint your car here! https://www.learnautobodyandpaint.com/free-autobody-manual/ Read the blog: Happy Valentine’s Day My Auto Nation!!: https://www.learnautobodyandpaint.com/happy-valentines-day-auto-nation/ Hey, it’s Tony from LearnAutoBodyAndPaint. I just wanted to say Happy Valentine’s Day My Auto Nation!! I hope you got your significant other some flowers or a gift. A quick update for the VIPs. I started uploading videos of the Daihatsu Hi-Jet Project in the member’s area, so please go check it out. It will be a 15-20 video series, which will show the step-by-step process of the work that I will do to this Mini Truck. There will be buffing videos. How we remove runs and buff it to a nice gloss. As for this Mazda Miata, I will be washing it off, taking off the top and preparing it for black paint soon. I’ve been looking at Super Chargers for this thing. That would be cool. Also, I got an after-market steering wheel that I may be putting on the Miata to replace the old one. It’s a little smaller than what I want so I’m not that crazy about it. But, I just want to replace the original because I think it’s ugly and bulky looking. I ordered a second gen steering wheel on eBay, which will be arriving soon. They usually sell around $200 with the airbag. It’s a Nardi steering wheel. I hope the nut is the same size. I took a chance and bought it since I got it at just $50. If it doesn’t fit, I can resell it at around $200. These airbags are money, especially if you have the BMW and Mercedes Airbags. For the Miata, these airbags are around $50-$80. Also, we are revamping the DVD kit version, updating and adding new content which is so cool. It’s pretty busy, but things are going great. For the non-VIPs who are interested in getting access to the complete series, head on over to the website and learn more about the LearnAutoBodyAndPaint VIP Course. Don’t forget to grab your FREE 85-Page Auto Body And Paint Manual and get cranking on your own car projects. Hit the Like button before you leave. Subscribe to my videos and share them to your friends and family. I will talk to all of you soon! Cheers! Bye!
