20 Marketing plan tips: how to write a marketing plan with free template and example

30:37
Here are my courses with marketing plan template and examples. Marketing strategy to reach 1,000,000 people (has a marketing plan template and marketing plan example): https://www.udemy.com/marketing-plan-strategy-become-a-great-marketer/?couponCode=y2 Business plan course which has a marketing plan template and example in it as well (same as in the marketing course above): https://www.udemy.com/how-to-write-a-business-plan/?couponCode=y1 In this video tutorial I explain how to write a marketing plan, present it in a way so you can have a template, and at the end of the video I give an example of how I created the marketing plan for my own business. Here are the sections that you should have in your marketing plan template: 1) Brief explanation and overview of your company 2) Your company's unique value proposition, sometimes referred to as UVP 3) Your company's budget 4) Dates and deadlines 5) Marketing team 6) Competitive analysis and an explanation of how you will out-compete your business competitors 7) Marketing strategies that your business will implement 8) Your target market and your target market size A marketing plan with the above 8 sections would be a well structured document. But your business hardly needs a properly structured and formatted document. What your business needs is the best possible course of action for your business. What would make it a very good plan for your business is if the marketing plan had as good as possible execution strategies of the actual promotional tactics that will be carried out. That is the real measure of quality and worth of this document. My marketing and business plan course have a marketing plan example that I used for my business. What is good about it is that I talk about my own strategies in hindsight after having implemented those strategies. This way I can show what works and what doesn't work, and have real-world data and experience to back it up. Give my courses a try. They will help you write a business plan for your company, start your business, and teach you how to effectively promote your business and grow it long-term.
Steve Jobs' amazing marketing strategy - MUST WATCH

07:08
Steve Jobs shares his amazingly different approach to marketing and how he used it to build Apple into one of the largest companies in the world. * Join my BELIEVE newsletter: http://www.evancarmichael.com/newsletter/ Transcript: To me….marketing is about values. This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. HOW TO CREATE A GUERILLA MARKETING PLAN?

02:50
**New Video: 100 Best Guerilla Marketing Campaigns here** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTK4m040whA&t=7s Guerrilla marketing is an advertisement strategy concept designed for small businesses to promote their products or services in an unconventional way with little budget to spend. This involves high energy and imagination focusing on grasping the attention of the public in more personal and memorable level. Guerrilla marketing is quite different from traditional marketing efforts. Guerrilla marketing means going after the conventional goals of profits, sales and growth but doing it by using unconventional means, such as expanding offerings during gloomy economic days to inspire customers to increase the size of each purchase. Instead of asking that you invest money, guerrilla marketing suggests you invest time, energy, imagination and knowledge instead. It puts profits, not sales, as the main yardstick. It urges that you grow geometrically by enlarging the size of each transaction, having more transactions per year with each customer, and tapping the enormous referral power of current customers. And, it does it through one of the most powerful marketing weapons around--the telephone. The telephone is a remarkably effective follow-up weapon. Don't use the phone to follow up all your mailings to customers, but research has proved that it will always boost your sales and profits. Sure, telephone follow-up is a tough task. But it works. Anyhow, no one ever said that guerrilla marketing is a piece of cake. E-mail ranks up there with the telephone, possibly even out outranking it. It's inexpensive. It's fast. It lets you prove that you really care. It helps strengthen your relationship. Lean upon your website as well. Instead of telling your whole story with other marketing, use that other marketing to direct people to your site. Then, use the site to give a lot of information and advance the sale to consummation. A key to online success is creating a brief and enticing e-mail that directs readers to a website that give enough information for a person to make an intelligent purchase decision. Guerrilla marketing preaches fervent follow-up, cooperation instead of competition, "you" marketing rather than "me" marketing, dialogues instead of monologues, counting relationships instead of counting sales, and aiming at individuals instead of groups. All guerrillas realize that the process of marketing is very much akin to the process of agriculture. Their marketing plans are the seeds they plant. Their marketing activities are the nourishment they give to each plant. Their profits are the harvest they reap. They know those profits don't come in a short time. But come they do if you start with a plan and commit to it. Guerrillas know they must seek profits from their current customers. They worship at the shrine of customer follow-up. They are world-class experts at getting their customers to expand the size of their purchases. Because the cost of selling to a brand-new customer is six times higher than selling to an existing customer, guerrilla marketers turn their gaze from strangers to friends. This reduces the cost of marketing while reinforcing the customer relationship. When your customers are confronted with their daily blizzard of junk mail and unwanted e-mail, your mailing piece won't be scrapped with the others and your e-mail won't be instantly deleted. After all, these folks know you, identify with you, trust you. So they'll be delighted to purchase--or at least check out--that new product or service you're offering. They'll always be inclined to buy from a company they've patronized. Guerrillas are able to think of additional products and services that can establish new sources of profits to them. They're constantly on the alert for strategic alliances--fusing marketing efforts with others in order to market aggressively while reducing marketing investment. The internet and your bookstore are teeming with a treasure trove of marketing tactics that can help you discover smart guerrilla marketing tactics. But learning about them is only half the battle. If you don't begin putting them into practice, you won't see the results these type of marketing efforts can have on your bottom line. My Best Marketing Strategies for [2018] | Creative Growth Plans for Business

04:53
Want to know my marketing strategy for 2018? ►►Subscribe here to learn more of my secret SEO tips: https://goo.gl/ScRTwc Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/neilkpatel/ Read more on my blog: https://neilpatel.com/blog 2018 is going to be an exciting year. The analysis on how much money we're spending to generate the traffic and here's what's crazy, most people don't realize this, we generate, let's say a million visitors a month on Neil Patel. Do you know what the cost to get there is with video, production, podcasting, blogging, promotion, ads, link building? $110,000 a month. That's what it averaged out to for 2017. Here are my marketing strategies for 2018. I just bought a blog in the marketing space for a half a million bucks. They get a million visitors a month, and it's cheaper to spend money acquiring people who already have the traffic. So in 2017, I bought Uber Suggest, I think it was around 140 grand. They had very little traffic. I 381 redirected the site, traffic increased and guess what happened? Nothing. I hoped that my traffic would go through the roof, but nothing happened. Uber Suggest was a good acquisition and what I ended up learning from that is, who cares about links? Don't buy anything for the links. Buy it purely based off of traffic and just pay a simple metric. If Uber Suggest has roughly 200,000 visitors per month, I paid a hundred and something; I would have paid 200 grand, the money didn't matter. For a blog that I just spent half a million on, their traffic ranges. On a horrible month, they'll get around 800,000 uniques. In a perfect month, they'll get around, like, 1.2, 1.3 million uniques, and all I'm doing right now is buying as many blogs as possible. My marketing strategy for 2018 is to buy blogs based on of traffic. I look at the top posts that they have and how qualified their visitors are and determine if I can successfully monetize their content. I don't even care if they have revenue. If they don't have revenue, even better. The problem with Search Engine Journal is that they have conferences, they have advertising, and they have contracts for all of it. I don't care for any of that. I just want the traffic. So when you buy all these people for traffic and then you put it into your monetization flow, you can quickly figure out, what is this worth? If I can't make my money back in less than 12 months, I will not buy it. The other marketing strategy that I use when I'm buying these sites is to look for blogs that aren't monetized well. The blog that I ended up buying for half a million bucks, they're not even making three grand a month. If you're not even making three grand a month, that's a good deal, right? They're like; you're going to give me half a million dollars for this? No problem. Another creative marketing strategy I'm doing right now, is trying to buy a really popular marketing tool. I don't want to pay them all the money they're asking for because they want well into the millions, and it isn't worth it. But, I'm trying to work out a deal where I give them X amount of money up front, let's say a million dollars, and then give them a hundred thousand a month over X amount of months or a hundred thousand a year over X amount of years. When I see inefficiencies in sites, I figure I can purchase them and double the revenue because they aren't optimized for traffic or conversions. So buy it for what it's worth, optimize it, and then use the profits to pay them out continually. That way you're not using all of your money and the business is paying, you may have spent a bit more money, but personally, you don't have to spend as much money, and that's my marketing strategy for 2018. My goal is to spend at least $5 million acquiring businesses purely based on their traffic. If you need help or have questions about online or digital marketing or of you're a small business looking for help, leave a comment or question below and I'll personally answer and help you in any way I can!

Developing a Sales and Marketing Strategy Plan

Developing a Sales and Marketing Strategy Plan Buy my book today! http://bit.ly/bestbrandingbook Contact me: http://www.edwindearborn.com/contact/ Connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/edwindearborn/ When developing and sales and marketing strategy/plan there are two types of sales approaches. One is the mindset of the hunter and the other is that of the farmer. The Hunter. The mindset of the hunter is to “Track, Kill & Move On.” Hunters are quick, restless and nomadic. The rapidly assess opportunities and discover rapid solutions to generate sustenance. In sales and marketing this would involve outbound phone calls, networking, and generally canvassing one’s territory for relatively immediate sales.  The Farmer. The mindset and habits of a farmer is to stay in a one location, large or small, and to cultivate over a longer period of time. Farmers are very attune to the weather, the soil and many other factors, any of which could aversely affect his crops in the upcoming months or even years. When times get tough, they have a hard time moving on to new lands like the hunter. But their advantage is that they can feed hundreds of people for months and months when they do their job right and consistently. When developing a complete sales and marketing strategy plan it is important to factor in both types of personalities and tactics. One needs the hunters to find and bring home immediate sales. But it is also important that you have farmers who are tending to those who require nurturing. By doing so, future “crops” of leads will bear fruit.  The Biggest Mistake The biggest mistake that any small business, start-up or corporation could make it to believe that all you need are more hunters to get in more sales. And likewise, one could pendulum swing and concentrate so much on nurturing that no immediate sales are generated, thus causing financial hardship for the enterprise.  It is important to have both a Hunter and a Farmer strategy for your sales and marketing plan.  Please subscribe to my YouTube channel.

Music Marketing: Strategy [7 Steps] (Music Business Lesson MM-001)

11:48
C'mon over to http://www.musicbusinessinstitute.com to get your free 3-part video training series for musicians. In this lesson James Taylor of the Music Business Institute goes through the 7 steps of successful music marketing. It's both a blueprint and a roadmap that you can also use to create the kind of music career you desire. It's also deceptively simple although the implementation will require that you learn some step-by-step techniques and tactics. 1. Build Your Fan Lists What is the one thing that all successful artists have in common - LISTS. Lists are the lifeblood of your business as a musician and without them it's almost impossible to make a living from your craft. 2. Develop Relationships With Fans The relationship with your lists will sustain you emotionally, creatively and financially over many, many years if you do it right. However if you disrespect your lists, speak down to them, or treat them as just a source of income then you are likely to have a very short career in music indeed. 3. Learn What Fans Want There exists two main schools (or Tribes) in the marketing of music, the Cool Kids and The Musicpreneur. These two tribes have very different thoughts when it comes to innovation in music and the idea of listening to your fans. 4. Create Work That Excites Fans A musician today has two jobs; creating and communicating. Music Business Institute is primarily about teaching the latter rather than the former because we have to assume you know how to create exciting work. Creating is about honing your craft as a musician. Communicating is about learning how to market and sell what you have created. It's why we call it the Music Business. Music + Business. 5. Identify Fan Type OK, by this point you know that building lists, developing relationships with them, learning what they want and creating work that excites them is important. The 'fan ladder' looks to move someone from just being mildly interested in your music to where they will buy everything you ever produce (concert tickets, recordings, merchandise). You want to move them from being a 'suspect' to a 'super fan' or "true fans". 6. Empower Super Fans Successful artists always have their own small army of super fans. Beliebers (Justin Bieber), Swifties (Taylor Swift), Little Monsters (Lady Gaga), Lovatics (Demi Lovato) and Smilers (Miley Cyrus) are all examples of Super Fans. 7. Promote Work Using Events The final step is about promoting your work using events. Firstly events they create excitement around your music. There are different types of events which can be used to promote your work. There are product launch events, tour announcement events, promotional events and many more. Go to http://www.musicbusinessinstitute.com to claim your free 3-part video training series for musicians.

An Inside Look Into Sujan Patel's Digital Marketing Plan for 2017

13:30
This Business Marketing Plan is a simple 9 step Digital Marketing Plan that you can use to build your brand and get your business noticed. I’m an entrepreneur who's involved in many different types of successful businesses. What most people don’t understand is that there is only one marketing strategy for everything I’m doing, and that this makes things a bit more manageable in 2017. One thing that’s different about my business marketing plan is what I do after we acquire a customer –I call it post-acquisition marketing. Advocacy and relationships are not something many people focus on, but they’re where I spend 40%-50% of my time. I try to offer the best customer support I possibly can. I want to ensure we’re treating our customers as human beings and helping them become smarter and better at what they do. Very few business marketing plans ever take this into consideration. You must focus on building relationships with your customers and clients. Remember: "People buy from people” and “love the people you work with.” This means you want the people you work with to be in the “friend zone” instead of just being customers. You must master this. Make this an important part of your business marketing plan and strategy today. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sujan Patel is the co-founder of Web Profits, a growth marketing agency helping companies leverage the latest and greatest marketing strategy to fuel their businesses. Marketing Plans For Small Business

04:19
Creating marketing plans for small business is essential for their success. How do you decide what methods to use in your marketing plan? http://bizforhome.com/getleads There is one major distinction you need to make when considering how to put together the marketing plan for your small business. Are you going to be a passive marketer or an active prospector? The should be both. Let's explain the difference between passive marketing and active marketing and see how they fit in a marketing plan for your small business. Passive marketing is what every business, big or small, uses to promote their products or services. This is when a business puts content out into the marketplace and waits for someone to respond or react. Some examples of passive marketing are newspaper ads, flyers, business cards, and even commercials. Active prospecting is a much more aggressive form of marketing. The difficulty with passive marketing is that most people don't follow up. Leaving business cards or handing out flyers requires others to take action and follow up. An example of active prospecting would be attending networking events and collecting information from people instead of just handing out business cards. Another example is reaching out with a private message on Facebook instead of just posting your small business or home business opportunity in your timeline. Many small businesses neglect active prospecting in their marketing plans and focus only on passive marketing. When you put together your marketing plan for your small business be sure to include both passive marketing and active prospecting. I hope you found value with today's video. How To Create A Content Strategy For Your Content Marketing

09:42
Creating a content marketing strategy can be an incredibly difficult process, especially if you’re unsure of you you’re targeting, or what you’re trying to achieve. An effective content strategy is an invaluable resource, helping to structure and drive your content campaign. In this video, James explains everything you need to know about creating a winning content marketing strategy, and how you can go about putting together a plan that works for your business. Target Audience Firstly, James explains the importance of understanding your target audience. Whilst there are countless methods of targeting the right audience, a few highlights James includes are creating buyer personas and utilising data from Google Analytics. You can use tools like YouGov Profiler: https://yougov.co.uk/profiler#/ to gain a clearer view of your audience’s interests, likes and habits, and apply this information to different stages throughout your buying cycle. You can also pull audience reports from Google Analytics, which provide valuable key demographic data, including location and the sites your audience are also visiting. Building Goals Now you understand who it is you’re going to be aiming your content towards, you can formulate worthwhile goals and objectives for your content marketing campaign. These goals will vary depending on your own business values and marketing plans, as well who you’re trying to reach with your work. Your content marketing goals could be targeted towards gaining more followers, increasing traffic, boosting social shares or driving conversions; it will all depend on your business’ needs. Whichever goal you select, you’ll then need to formulate objectives to help you achieve them. You goal is what you’re aiming for; your objective is how you’ll get there. The video above contains plenty of information on relevant objectives which you can set to help you achieve the goals you’ve set. Social Media James also explains the importance of establishing social profiles on popular social media platforms, in order to further build your brand, and boost your content promotion efforts. During this process, it’s also worthwhile searching for industry relevant websites, such as forums and blogs, which will allow you to gain an overview of current attitudes, opinions and issues related to your business. By engaging with key users and influencers on social and sites such as these, you can begin to build a loyal group of followers with an active interest in your brand. Content Audit Before you begin creating a new plan, it’s necessary to take a look back, and carry out an in depth content audit to determine what has worked, and what has failed, in the past. As part of this, you’ll also want to carry out a competitor content analysis on three or four of your key competitors, in order to get a better idea of what your competition are doing to gain traction. Details on how to perform both these audits are revealed at length in the video above, where James also explains how you can use tools like Google Trends https://www.google.com/trends/ and Google Analytics to get a better understanding of your previous campaigns. These techniques should provide you with enough information to formulate new ideas. Editorial Calendar An editorial calendar is paramount to your campaign’s success. It will allow you to plot what should be created when, and give you a better idea of the activities you need to carry out to stay relevant and up to date. Promotion and Measurement Finally, James explains how you can successfully promote your content using the contacts you’ve established, and measure this success against the goals you’ve set.
