Lesson Planning For Daycares, Childcares, and Startups
Hey Girl!! So in this video I am slaying it! I am walking you behind the scenes to lesson planning like a BOSS! That's right! A Childcare Boss! It's time to get your plans together and make it work for your business model. My business model is built off of learning and ensuring that children have the very best a childcare business can offer. My childcare businesses are not "TextBook" and neither are a majority of my clients but I don't let that stop me. I keep moving forward with my vision for inner city children to learn and grow successfully! So if you want to have a business that produces greatness in others, you must first have a vision of greatness! The products that I use are: The Classroom Planner: My assistant suggested that everyone use a classroom planner inside their classrooms. I created it from a need to keep my staff operating on point while I was managing a different aspect of my childcare businesses. It can be found at www.TheStaffOrganizer.com The Staff Organizer/Quarterly Agenda- I use this as a base to plan my curriculum and teach my teachers how to use this tool to stay organized in their classrooms. I had no childcare experience, no formal business experience, I had never walked into a childcare business before nor did I have children of my own. But while in prayer, I asked God for his direction for my life and clearly I heard the word, ‘daycare.’ I immediately got started and moved confidently in the directions of my dreams. When I started my first childcare I struggled with enrollment, business management and staffing. I had no idea how to successfully grow my childcare business. Enrollment was dwindling in but not quite how I had envisioned. I was stuck with a building licensed for more than 200 children and I only had 60. I was the driving force of my business. I, literally worked in every position of my business - from the front desk receptionist, after- school bus driver, cook and occasionally I worked in the classroom as a substitute provider. I left work every day feeling overwhelmed and tired. The next day I’d start all over again – feeling overwhelmed. I needed relief. Weak in faith and without guidance, I made a decision to sell that location. After giving birth to my first born, my passion to care for children intensified. I realized it never left me so I began to pray again. This time I had no money, my credit score was low and there was no one to go to for help. I started with what I had and began babysitting for $10 per day. As my baby-sitting services began to grow, I applied and obtained the license for family. We continued to grow so I obtained the license for group, then we grew to two groups and on to a large center. I moved into two large facilities to care for over 160 children each day. All of this happened in less than five years. I had purpose, promise and passion but there was no payoff until I realized there was a better way to achieving childcare success. Through many years of hard work through trial and error, I finally found the formula to grow my childcare business. When I look at my wonderful life now, I realize it was determination and hard work that helped to build the childcare business of my dreams. My income grew successfully from $10 per day to $3000 per day in my childcare business. I created systems which make childcare easy. Today I am dedicated to sharing with others and want you to know – you too, can truly build a childcare business that generates wealth and happiness as you manage the childcare business you love!

Minnesota's Kindergarten Entry Profile (KEP)
Since 2014, the Minnesota Department of Education has been working to revise, expand and improve the School Readiness Study, which measures children’s status at kindergarten entry. These changes help us better support districts, school administrators and teachers in measuring children’s status at the beginning of kindergarten to inform their practice and programming. The Kindergarten Entry Profile (KEP) includes comprehensive assessment tools, which districts choose based on the needs of their students and teachers. These tools provide real-time data to help districts in their planning and practice. Each of the tools are aligned to the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (ECIP) and the Kindergarten Academic Standards. Learn more: http://education.state.mn.us/MDE/dse/kind/KEP/

UNO Master Plan
Chicago is a city of neighborhoods. UNO's new development in Gage Park will forever alter the paradigm of what a Civic Center is. The core proposition put forth in this plan is one that departs from the traditional relationship between residential, commercial and civic uses that have defined American City Planning, in favor of an integrated land use approach that takes into consideration the evolutionary changes of our society over the past thirty years. This project replaces the notion of a traditional school with an educational campus that becomes the vital organ of a community, with commercial and institutional uses providing ancillary support to the school. In addition to traditional classroom activities, the school sets the stage for parallel community activities that are found outside of the educational building, such as community meetings and conventions.

5 killer ESL games
5 killer games for an ESL classroom. Created by Network ESL to assist teachers in their classrooms. Network ESL has been placing teachers in China since 2002. We are the largest supplier of ESL jobs and take pride in our full support program. We believe that buy creating lesson plans and ensuring that our teachers get all the support they need we can assist them in making the most of their class. NETWORK ESL has been established in China for 13 years now and was formed with one main goal in mind: to offer teachers already in China and those that are thinking of teaching in China a comprehensive and complete service so as to ensure that the benefits and provisions outlined in teaching contracts are actually provided to the teacher whilst at the same time offer a comprehensive support network throughout our teachers' entire stay. By providing this, it was envisaged that we would achieve two things: 1. An improvement in the quality and effectiveness of oral English teaching in China, thereby accelerating the learning and English-speaking ability of students at our client schools. 2. An assurance that teachers, after being offered a support system in China ranging from lesson planning, travel assistance, and advice to guidance with everyday living, would thoroughly enjoy the experience and, thus, have fond memories of their Chinese friends and China in general. We are proud to state that we believe we have met these objectives. We remain committed to our present and future teachers and to improving the extent and quality of the services offered by The Network to ensure that all who come across The Network will have an enjoyable and rewarding experience in China.

Ajay Chaudry on Cradle to Kindergarten: A new plan to combat inequality
Ajay Chaudry, Senior Fellow, New York University Cradle to Kindergarten: A new plan to combat inequality Inequality begins early. Most of the gap in children’s development and achievement levels are present well before children first set foot in kindergarten. In Cradle to Kindergarten, Ajay Chaudry and his colleagues draw on a wealth of scientific, economic and education research to lay out the case that a comprehensive reimagining of America’s early childhood policies for improving lifelong educational and economic outcomes and contributing to reduce the widening disparities between children from economically advantaged families and those from middle-class and more disadvantaged families. The U.S. has a fragmented and inadequate set of services for early care and education. The period between birth and kindergarten is a critical time for child development, but most children do not receive high-quality early learning opportunities. Primarily those families with financial means to provide them receive their benefits, and the socioeconomic disparities that begin early in children’s lives contribute to starkly different long-term outcomes for adults. Compared to almost any other advanced economy, the U.S. government invests less in children under the age of five, and high-quality childcare and preschool in the U.S. are scarce and prohibitively expensive for many middle class and most disadvantaged families. Rather than offering disparate, piecemeal policy solutions, the strategy envisioned would consist of paid parental leave, a guarantee of childcare assistance for children with working parents, universal early education starting at age 3, and a reimagined Head Start that focuses health and education interventions for children under age 3 in areas of concentrated poverty.

Putting a Face on Funding: Regional Councils Listen and Plan
Every year, First Things First volunteer regional partnership council members are charged with deciding what to do with millions of dollars in taxpayer funds for early childhood. They do this through a comprehensive strategic planning process. This includes a review of data collected from grantee program reports as well as a community needs and assets report about the state of children birth to five in their region. Many regional councils also reach out to community stakeholders—both those providing early childhood services and those partaking of First Things First services. In this video, First Things First South Phoenix Regional Director, Jonathan Gonzales and Regional Council Chairman, James Washington help us understand how public engagement contributes to the annual planning process. We listen to parents from Southeast Maricopa who give witness about how the programs have changed the way they interact with their children and what this has done for their child's development. Amanda Freeman excitedly shares how My Child's Ready at the Child Crisis Center (http://www.childcrisis.org/mychildsready/) gave her the resources she was seeking to be her child's first and best teacher. Teen parents, Alex Burleson (with son, Carter) and Kaydee Kitchen (with daughter, Kenzie) enrolled in Teach Outreach Pregnancy Services (http://www.teenoutreachaz.org) proclaim their personal progress toward completing high school, getting jobs and being well on their way to caring for their children independently. Marissa and Roberto Fallas, with almost-walking baby Nirvana talk about how the home visitation program through Healthy Families has changed their entire outlook of what it means to be a family. Laveen stay-at-home mom, Elisa Morgan tells how she heard about a town hall through a child care provider's website. She decided to come to learn more about FTF and contribute her own ideas about what is important for young kids in her neighborhood. Throughout the video, Dr. Julie Sallquist, parent representative on the First Things First SE Maricopa Regional Partnership Council explains how important listening to these many community voices is to the region's planning process. Julie's one year old son, Jake plays in the background reminding us that listening, planning and acting on behalf of Arizona's youngest kids is central to the mission of First Things First as we work together to prepare kids for kindergarten and beyond!

iTeach - Integrated Approach to Learning
iTeach is a set of six teaching and learning principles to guide early childhood educators in planning, designing and facilitating learning experiences for children. ‘i’ stands for ‘integrated approach to learning’. Adopting an integrated approach to learning means planning learning experiences as a whole and in meaningful contexts. Early childhood educators can use themes, stories or projects to build on children’s interests and level of understanding. MOE advocates the iTeach principles outlined in the Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework. The Framework is part of the NEL Curriculum, a comprehensive range of kindergarten curriculum resources developed by MOE to support early childhood educators in creating quality learning experiences for children four to six years of age. City & Guilds of London Art School Development Plans
The School is embarked on exciting plans for the future, with a view to improving our facilities and ensuring that we can offer the best possible teaching and working environment for the 21st century and to preserving the special spirit of the place which makes us special. Thanks to the generous funding support from some of our donors, we were able to commission a team of professionals in Spring 2007 to look into our needs and how we might best be able to address these. This initial review was completed in November 2007 and led to the decision, unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees, to commit to a future on our Kennington site where we have been since 1879, and to start planning for a comprehensive refurbishment with some redevelopment within the existing perimeter of our buildings. In January 2007, we commissioned Alan Higgs Architects with the design of a development scheme which will: * Create 450sqm (or 25%) of additional space for studios, workshops and other teaching facilities; * Substantially address circulation and disabled access issues across the site and particularly in our Georgian terrace houses; * Create a new entrance and better communal facilities for students and staff; * Open up and enhance our presence at street level and onto Cleaver Square. Preliminary design work (to RIBA Stage C) will be completed by the end of the Summer of 2008, at which point we will start preparing for the launch of a major capital campaign.

iTeach - Engaging Children in Learning through Purposeful Play
iTeach is a set of six teaching and learning principles to guide early childhood educators in planning, designing and facilitating learning experiences for children. ‘e’ stands for ‘engaging children in learning through purposeful play’. Play is the primary mechanism through which children explore their environment. In purposeful play, early childhood educators intentionally plan enjoyable activities and organise the environment to enhance the learning of children. They observe and facilitate to reinforce or extend children’s learning towards intended objectives.
