Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. PART 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOuWC... PART 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FObb4... PART 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSORg... LDL is not cholesterol, Low density lipoprotein is a protein that shuttles cholesterol and triglycerides. LDL is the carrier that transports cholesterol from the liver to the vessels and cells and HDL transports the cholesterol from the arteries back to the liver. The body makes 3000 mg of cholesterol. Why? 1. Makes cell membranes 2. Antioxidant properties 3. Anti-inflammatory properties 4. Makes vitamin D 5. Helps you make bile thus extracting fat soluble vitamins 6. Makes cortisol 7. Makes sex hormones (testosterone, estrogen, etc. AND 8. Helps the body respond to crisis (infection) 9. It binds and inactivates bacterial toxins 10. Helps inhibit the damage from microbes 11. Acts as a band-aid to help in the healing of the endothelium layer. There are 2 types of LDL. Type A (large buoyant) *normal, not involved in damage repair. *last 2 days in the body Type B (small dense) *because these are small, they can enter the damaged wall of the artery and are involved in the clotting and plaquing. *last 5 days Look at your triglycerides - if they are high and your HDL is low, then you have more type B LDL. But if your triglycerids are low and high HDL, then you have type a. Saturated fats will increase type A and sugars will increase type B. LOW CARB, HIGH DIET DIETS CAN SWITCH YOUR TYPE B TO TYPE A. Why would someone have too much LDL pattern B 1. Sugar 2. Cortisol 3. Vegetable oil (soy and corn) 4. Trans fats (hydrogenated fats) 5. Low vitamin C 6. Glycation (adding glucose/fructose with protein and fat): donuts, fries, carmelization, dark soda. Fructose cause 10X more glycation. 7. Surgery 8. Visceral fat High levels LDL should be understood rather than merely lowered. Find the the real deeper cause. DR. ► 5 Worst High Cholesterol Foods You Must Avoid [Clinically Proven]

05:39
See how my parents lowered their cholesterol by 30 pts in 30 days - no diets or drugs: ►►►http://drsam.co/yt/StartLoweringYourCholesterolNaturally =============================== 5 Worst High Cholesterol Foods You Must Avoid [Clinically Proven] =============================== Cholesterol has many benefits and it’s definitely NOT your “enemy”. In fact, “low” cholesterol is just as bad as “high” cholesterol levels. However, there are certain foods that are really bad for you and can quickly increase your “bad” cholesterol levels and dramatically increase your risk for heart disease, a heart attack or stroke. Under this video I’ve got a special bonus video about how you can quickly lower your cholesterol levels in less than 30 days, naturally - without changing your diet or exercising. So make sure you take a look... However, let’s first start with the 5 worsts, clinically proven - “high cholesterol” foods that you must avoid! Dairy I’ve been saying this for over 2 decades - Milk is for babies and cow milk is for baby cows! Additionally, 99% of dairy products are pasteurized, which kills any benefits milk could have. Not to mention, the toxins, hormones and drugs these animals are given are highly concentrated in the milk - which goes inside of YOU! All of these factors, plus the saturated fat inside milk, increases your cholesterol and stresses your liver. It doesn’t matter if it’s whole, low or nonfat dairy, it’s all the same. Unfortunately, this also includes two of my favorite foods, ice cream and cheese! Fast Foods It doesn’t matter if it’s a burger, tacos, french fries, pizza or anything else - they’re all high in carbohydrates, hydrogenated and saturated fats, using unhealthy and toxic proteins. It’s cheap food. It may be easy and good for your wallet, but it’s bad for your health and cholesterol levels and you’ll pay the price later in life. Animal Protein The saturated fats and “marble fat” found in meat, pork, poultry and shell-fish is horrible for your health and cholesterol levels. I’ve noticed even grass-fed meat and free-range poultry can still cause high cholesterol in some of my patients, especially the “sensitive” ones. Limit your intake and focus more on vegetable proteins and fish - especially wild-caught salmon. Eggs Eggs can be good or bad. All the cholesterol and fat is located in the egg YOLK, which is why most “experts” say you should only consume egg whites. However, most of the nutrients, antioxidants and half the essential amino acids (protein) are also found in the yolk. The problem is when you COOK the yolk - such as hard-boiled, scrambled and fried eggs. The heat oxidizes the egg and damages both the structure of the protein and fat. So the healthiest way to eat eggs is raw or lightly cooked, so the yolk is still runny. Don’t fry it with butter or vegetable fats. And make sure it’s organic, free-range eggs. Baked Foods/Carbs (Snacks Too) Baked foods such as muffins, cakes, breads, donuts, croissants, rolls, cookies, danishes, scones, pie, etc… The types of foods most people eat in the morning when they’re in a rush, or with their coffee or at work as a snack… These are all bad because they contain hydrogenated and saturated fats, as well as dairy. Not to mention, they’re high in simple carbohydrates and sugars. “Bad” fats increase cholesterol. “Bad” fats + carbs/sugar REALLY increase your cholesterol and lead to numerous health issues. The combination is super unhealthy. Under this same category -- “Snack Foods” such as chips, pretzels, crackers and similar items are almost as bad as these bakes foods. 6 SIGNS THAT YOU MAY HAVE HIGH CHOLESTEROL

05:02
Why is it so important to keep cholesterol at the normal levels and how to maintain it within the health limits? Cholesterol is a vital, fat-like substance that is contained in each cell of our body, as well as in our blood. Most of the cholesterol is produced by the liver, and the rest is procured through food. Please subscribe, click the bell and watch this video until the end to know the complete information. Cholesterol has extremely important reasons for our body and functions: it participates in the construction of cell membranes and in the formation of sexes and adrenal hormones; without cholesterol, the body can not synthesize vitamin D, which is indispensable to healthy bones, nor produces bile acid, without which fat in the body cannot be processed properly. When an excess of cholesterol accumulates in the body, it can not be broken down and this increases the risks to our health. The main danger is the onset of atherosclerosis, which in turn is the cause of most cardiovascular diseases such as a heart attack for example. The causes of increased levels of cholesterol in the blood are different: hereditary predisposition, chronic liver disease thyroid gland and diabetes. A sure way to maintain a normal cholesterol level is regular testing. Specialists recommend except for total, to monitor still poor (LDL) and good (HDL) cholesterol, as well as triglycerides. It is known that 20 years is the age in which the first examination for determining the values of cholesterol should be done. Revealed in time, increased cholesterol can be overcome and can not lead to serious health problems later. Here are 6 signs that you may have high cholesterol. 1. yellow growths on your eyelids. Did you know that yellowish eyelid can be a sign of high cholesterol? Take a good look at the eyelids, if you notice yellow spots, make a doctor’s appointment, check your cholesterol levels and your heart’s health. Also, do you notice painless yellow growths of the upper and lower eyelids? This phenomenon is called “xanthelasma” and it is a clear indication that you have high blood cholesterol levels. 2. gray-colored ring around your cornea. Often this is a sign of aging, so it should not be a cause for worry. But if you are far from retired, the gray circle around the iris may indicate high cholesterol and blood fat, which very often means a risk of heart attack or stroke. This gray colored ring or lacquer is actually composed of cholesterol that collects in the deeper parts of your cornea. 3. tingling sensation in the hands and feet. The tingling sensation of the hands and feet may indicate a problem in your body. This should be taken seriously because these symptoms can be caused by serious health problems. If the blood vessels are blocked by cholesterol, it is likely that you will feel tingling in your hands and feet, because your peripheral nerves are not getting do enough blood oxygen and nutrients for their proper functioning. 4. pain in the neck and back of the head. Because cholesterol levels that are too high can cause some of your blood vessels to block, it’s very possible that your circulation is obstructed. Such can leave your neck sensitive and deteriorate from time to time. The shoulder can also be felt in the same way. Medical practitioners say that high blood cholesterol levels can also make you have a headache, especially in the back of your head. 5. rapid or pounding beating of the heart. When a person says that she has heart palpitations, she thinks of the inner feeling that her heart beats something different from the usual one. Or, it simply has the awareness of the heartbeat. Most of the time, heart palpitations are harmless and they are often experienced after exercise or engaging in the intense physical activity. Sometimes they are due to anxiety, stress, and the intake of certain drugs. Palpitations may also indicate problems with the cardiovascular system, but and high cholesterol levels are one of them. Clogging the blood vessels due to cholesterol can lead to an accelerated operation of your heart. 6. unhealthy diet and lifestyle. If you eat plenty of fatty foods and avoid fruits and vegetables that contain a lot of fiber if you are a smoker and if you drink alcohol in excessive amounts, if you are overweight and do not exercise regularly, then there is a great chance that your cholesterol level is already high. But sometimes high cholesterol depends on our genes. About 1 in 500 people have a specific genetic mutation that leads to the accumulation of cholesterol in their blood. These people suffer from high cholesterol regardless of their lifestyle. if you suspect that you may have high cholesterol then please start eating a healthy diet and get levels checked out at the hospital. Saturated fats that are high in cholesterol were taken off the nutrient concern list after almost 60 years, suggesting that the “no cholesterol” era may have been based on a hasty misinterpretation of the science. While studies have found that high cholesterol is not necessarily associated with heart and circulatory concerns, there is emerging science suggesting that triglycerides are. Triglycerides are the fats that are made from any extra calories you don’t use as energy right away. For example, fructose is a sugar that is easily converted into triglyceride fat and, as a result, gets some bad press from the Paleo camps. But wait, when we think about fruits and when they were harvested, we see that the sweetest fruits with the most fructose are harvested in the fall.  So, gorging on fruits in the fall tends to deliver seasonal high levels of fructose. The excess fructose that is not used as fuel is stored in the fat as triglycerides to prepare for winter. ...read more: http://lifespa.com/why-lower-triglycerides-not-cholesterol RELATED ARTICLES: What You Don’t Know About Cholesterol -- http://lifespa.com/balance-cholesterol-naturally/ Part 4: “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Cholesterol!” A Better Way To Read Your Results -- http://lifespa.com/cant-believe-cholesterol-better-way-read-results/ Part 3: Cholesterol: Size Matters -- http://lifespa.com/cholesterol-size-matters/ Part 2: Saturated Fats and Cholesterol Exonerated -- http://lifespa.com/saturated-fats-cholesterol-exonerated/ Part 1: Writing Love Letters Lowers Cholesterol -- http://lifespa.com/writing-love-letters-lowers-cholesterol/ Cholesterol -- http://lifespa.com/ayurvedic-treatment-health-topics/cholesterol/ Healthy Cholesterol -- http://lifespa.com/healthy-cholesterol/ Health Benefits of Garbanzo Beans (Chickpeas) -- http://lifespa.com/health-benefits-of-garbanzo-beans-chickpeas/ Episode 31: Troubleshoot Your Intestinal Bacteria, Candida and SIBO -- http://lifespa.com/episode-31-troubleshoot-your-intestinal-bacteria-candida-and-sibo/ Gallbladder Or Not: 10 Tips To Digest Fat -- http://lifespa.com/gallbladder-or-not-10-tips-to-digest-fat/ How to Navigate the New High Fat Diet Trends & Become a Better Fat Burner -- http://lifespa.com/how-to-navigate-new-high-fat-diet-trends-and-become-a-better-fat-burner/ Beans: Spring’s Unexpected Superfood -- http://lifespa.com/beans-springs-unexpected-superfood/

Cholesterol - Is it good or bad?

07:36
What do you think? Why would your body produce it in excess? Understand the aetiology (root cause) of high cholesterol. A greater CV health challenge would be high Homocysteine levels, not cholesterol. This AA has been clearly shown to be a contributing factor, which can cause CHD. But why would your body produce high levels of Homocysteine? Oxidised cholesterol is a huge challenge in your body too. So are you eating good local organic fruit and vegetables? Cholesterol is termed a STEROL - Lipid produced mainly in the liver, although small amounts can be generated in the intestines and other organs. Over 60% of your brain is cholesterol! Your LDLs role is to transport cholesterol from the liver to your organs and tissues, where they are incorporated into cell membranes. HDL carries old Cholesterol discarded into bile (used to break down fat we eat) or used to produce hormones, e.g. Testosterone, oestrogen, DHEA, progesterone & cortisol. Cholesterol is also deployed to the nervous system. Your serum cholesterol levels are influenced by fat intake, stress, physical activity, obesity, illness, smoking, genetics, alcohol and medicines. Remember association does not automatically equate to causation. That is, high cholesterol observed in CHD patients does not mean it causes the die-ease! Despite what some experts claim low cholesterol levels do NOT guarantee immunity against CHD and high cholesterol levels are anything but a sure sign of impending coronary disaster! Ensure if you are taking this dangerous symptom treating DRUG Statin that you consume Co-Q 10, which is a crucial component of mitochondria. That means all cell energy requirements need it and Statins deplete it! A French study in 1997 of more than 6000 men followed over a 17 year period found that those with the highest decline in cholesterol displayed an excess risk for most types of cancer! The long standing Framingham study in the UK also showed that you increase your risk of other dis-eases including cancer if you have low and or high levels of Cholesterol. So it's the environment you're in that affects your health (95%). What you eat, think, drink, sleep and do/do not exercise has a huge bearing on your cholesterol levels and indeed your Homocysteine too. Take control NOW and or find out what choices you have made, are making that do not serve your lifestyle, if you want to improve your quality and quantity of life on this wonderful planet. 10 Warning Signs Your Heart Isn't Working Properly

09:25
How to Prevent Heart Disease. About 610,000 people die from heart disease each year in the U.S. alone. There are tons of factors that can cause a person to develop heart problems, but most of them come down to poor lifestyle choices. Your body gives you warning signs early on so that you can catch an illness in its early stages or even prevent it altogether and save your life. Here are 10 of the most common red flags that indicate bad heart health. A cough that won't quit 1:38 A persistent cough can be a symptom of all kinds of health issues, and cardiovascular disease is one of them. For instance, a chronic cough that produces a pinkish bloody liquid is very common in people with heart failure. Despite what it sounds like, heart failure doesn't mean that the heart completely stops beating. It just means that a person’s heart isn’t pumping blood as well as it should be. As a result, the body doesn't get enough oxygen since it’s carried to all the tissues by the blood. Nausea and loss of appetite 3:07 A lot of heart disease patients show a lack of appetite, nausea, or both, even if they've had just a couple bites of food. The reason for that is built-up fluid around the liver and intestines that interferes with proper digestion. These symptoms are usually accompanied by abdominal pain, upset stomach, or feeling bloated. In fact, abdominal cramps that come and go in short spurts are extremely common right before a heart attack. Your skin becomes paler or takes on a bluish tint 5:28 Being naturally pale doesn’t necessarily mean you have a heart condition. But sudden paleness can be a result of reduced blood flow due to a heart that’s not pumping blood as effectively as it should be. Shock, which can be caused by any condition that prevents the blood in your body from circulating properly, is the main reason why people who are suffering from a heart attack or heart failure turn pale all of a sudden. Chronic or sudden fatigue 7:02 Fatigue can be one of the main symptoms indicating an impending heart attack. Women are more likely to experience heart-related fatigue than men, with 70% of female heart attack patients reporting that they’d felt extremely tired before their episode. Physical or mental activity isn't the reason for such exhaustion, and it increases by the end of the day if it’s due to a failing heart. It’s really hard for this symptom to go unnoticed. Sometimes it's exhausting just to perform even the simplest tasks, like making the bed or taking a shower. Music: The 126ers - Darkness of My Sun Density & Time - City of Jewels https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS 10. Pain that spreads to the arm 1:01 9. A cough that won't quit 1:38 8. Swollen legs, ankles, and feet 2:25 7. Nausea and loss of appetite 3:07 6. Extreme levels of anxiety 3:47 5. Lightheadedness or fainting 4:26 4. Your skin becomes paler or takes on a bluish tint 5:28 3. Skin rashes or unusual spots 6:20 2. Chronic or sudden fatigue 7:02 1. Increased perspiration 7:45 SUMMARY -If their heart isn’t working properly, a lot of men feel pain in their left arm, while women experience the same pain in either or both arms. -A persistent cough can be a symptom of all kinds of health issues, and cardiovascular disease is one of them. -When your heart isn’t pumping enough blood through the body, fluid from your blood vessels leaks into surrounding tissues. Your lower extremities are the most affected simply due to gravity. -A lot of heart disease patients show a lack of appetite, nausea, or both, even if they've had just a couple bites of food. -People who suffer from extreme anxiety from a very early age or most of their life are more prone to developing coronary heart disease. -Feeling lightheaded and experiencing temporary loss of consciousness, also known in the scientific community as “syncope”, is super common among heart patients. -Sudden paleness can be a result of reduced blood flow due to a heart that’s not pumping blood as effectively as it should be. -People with eczema were found to have a 48% chance of suffering from high blood pressure and a 29% possibility of having high cholesterol. -Sometimes it's exhausting just to perform even the simplest tasks, like making the bed or taking a shower before a heart attack. -People experience flu-like symptoms, have clammy skin, and sweat regardless of the air temperature or physical exertion. Bad Cholesterol Can Make You Live Longer

There has been new analysis of earlier studies that found “People with higher levels of LDL live longer and are not at risk of heart disease.” LDL is a lipoprotein or like a shuttle that has a lot of nutrients on it including cholesterol, triglycerides, vitamin E and several other factors. It is involved in energy metabolism bringing fuel to different cells and it also has a secondary purpose which is to help deliver vitamin E to protect the cell as well to act as an antioxidant. LDL is delivering reparative actions but it isn’t the culprit to the main cause of the problem. And the true culprit is the high insulin and insulin resistance. He also talked about a test called Coronary Artery Calcification Scoring Test. 10 Symptoms Of High Cholesterol That You Shouldn’t Ignore. Cholesterol is a lipid that is present in all cells of the body. While many people only know its harmful effects, in reality, it’s essential for the optimal functioning of the body. In addition, it’s also involved in the production of some hormones and helpful for your cardiovascular health. Is Coffee Bad for You?

05:11
For more info: https://draxe.com/coffee-nutrition-facts/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Jan-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=coffee One of the most common questions I’ve been getting recently is, “Is coffee bad for you?” The answer is, yes … and no. Coffee is beneficial because it contains massive amounts of antioxidants, which help slow the aging process and protect you from free radical damage. Coffee also helps stimulate the liver and increases circulation, helping blood flow to the brain. Coffee can be harmful in some ways because of the amount of caffeine it contains. The caffeine in coffee can overstimulate the body, burn out your adrenal glands, and overtax your body. About 80% of people in the world will struggle with thyroid problems or fatigue issues. For this group, I wouldn’t recommend coffee because it will burn out your adrenal glands. However, if you’re generally healthy, then drinking coffee in moderate amounts can be fine, and even good for your health. I wouldn’t recommend drinking coffee past lunch time because it can affect your sleep cycle that night. Depending on the condition of your body, if you’re suffering from an autoimmune disease, coffee can make your disease worse. If you’re pretty healthy, looking for a pick-me-up, or looking for more antioxidants, then coffee can provide you these benefits. When picking out your coffee beans, I would recommend choosing all natural, organic coffee because it’s one of the most highly sprayed plants in the world. Lastly, if you’re looking for a great substitute for coffee, I would suggest drinking matcha green tea because it has great benefits and one-third the amount of caffeine. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. 10 Foods You Should Never Eat

10:45
We know some products are really dangerous for our health, and other products are good for us as they are healthy. It turns out it’s not so simple and some of the most promoted and popular foods can, in fact, harm you. Never eat these 10 dangerous foods for the sake of your own health and the health of your family. Even if you see the juice labels “not from concentrate” or “100% pure”, don't let this fool you. Juice, after being squeezed from different fruits, is kept in huge vacuum-sealed tanks where it can sit for up to a year before being packaged! And by that time, the juice has lost all its flavor, which is why manufacturers have to add artificial flavoring to make it taste fruity again. In most cases, cereals are loaded with refined carbohydrates and sugar. Even if the label assures you that it's fat-free and whole grain, check the list of ingredients. You'll most likely see that the product is full of sugar. Despite common belief, most yogurts don't contain probiotic bacteria since the process of pasteurization kills all these microorganisms. When consumed, trans-fats in ice-cream can cause high cholesterol, stroke, heart disease, and even cancer. Ice cream is also loaded with sugar, artificial flavors, and synthetic preservatives. And if it’s pink, purple, or red, it’s most likely been colored with cochineal extract or carmine, additives which can cause bad allergic reactions. Popcorn has some genetically modified ingredients as well as taste-boosting chemicals and additives. This leads to health problems such as heart attacks, digestive issues, allergies, skin rashes, breathing problems, and the depressing list goes on. Even more, popcorn is extremely caloric. Music: Vibe Mountain - Great Hope The 126ers - Reversed Eclipse Rondo Brothers - Yellow Gold Kevin MacLeod - Jay Jay Silent Partner - Pink Lemonade https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Fruit juices 0:37 Energy bars 1:42 Cereal 2:31 Margarine 3:21 Low-fat yogurt 4:11 Ice cream 5:01 Eggs 6:07 Microwave popcorn 7:09 Sugar-free candy 8:32 Diet soda 9:26 SUMMARY -Store-bought juices may contain some real fruit, but most of their content is water, sugar, and artificial flavoring. -Protein bars and energy bars alike are usually processed products containing sugar, artificial flavors and sweeteners. -Breakfast cereals typically contain a teeny tiny amount of whole grains, which allows producers to mark their product as healthy, but they also contain unhealthy sugar. -Margarine is typically made from industrial vegetable oils hydrogenated to become solid, a process that significantly increases the oils’ trans-fat content. -Manufacturers load “low-fat” yogurts with sugar to make up for the lack of taste usually provided by the natural fats. -Instead of pure milk or cream, manufacturers use cheaper hydrogenated fats such as palm- or coconut oil to produce ice-cream. These oils, when heated, become nothing more than trans-fats. -One egg contains as much cholesterol as a big greasy burger. -Microwave popcorn’s almost always lined with the same toxic substance you can find in Teflon pans. -If candy doesn’t contain sugar, it contains artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose, and saccharine. These substances are chemically processed and may cause some serious side effects. -Artificial sweeteners in diet soda can easily lead to weight gain as they trigger the production of insulin, which makes your body store fat. 18 Harmful Foods We Often Give to Children

10:23
How to Keep Your Child Healthy. Proper nutrition is super important for your children’s health and well-being. If you wish them well and don’t want them to settle for unhealthy food choices that they are likely to repeat as they become older, pay attention to this video. It turns out some common foods we consider healthy are actually really bad for your kids. Here’s a list the foods that are harmful to children as well as wholesome alternatives. If left untreated, diabetes can cause many serious long-term complications which include heart disease, stroke, chronic kidney failure, foot ulcers, and damage to the eyes.Control of blood pressure and maintaining proper foot care are important for people with the disease. The most important factor that affects both type 1 and type 2 diabetes is diet, and a well-planned diet can work effectively in maintaining blood glucose at healthy levels. Here we have a list of top 10 worst foods that every diabetics should avoid. White rice White rice can affect your blood sugar levels. According to a newly study published by Harvard researchers, those who ate the highest amounts of white rice had a 27% higher risk of diabetes than those who ate the least. Potatoes Potatoes are not a good food choice for diabetics due to a relatively low nutrient density and high levels of quickly absorbed carbohydrates. It has a high glycemic index value, which means that the carbohydrate in them is quickly converted to glucose when digested, and can cause blood sugar and insulin levels to rise. It is also associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes. Cakes and Pastries. Cakes and pastries are not good for diabetics as they are loaded with sugar, sodium, junky white flour and preservatives. Their dangerous combo of sugar and refined flour spikes blood sugar and promotes inflammation, which interferes with insulin’s ability to function properly. Soft Drinks and Energy Drinks. Soft drinks and energy drinks are the worst type of drink for diabetics, they are loaded with calories that lead to weight gain and people who are overweight are at a higher risk of developing diabetes compared to those with the healthy weight. French Fries French fries are starchy vegetables that have a worst impact on your blood sugar levels. These fries soak a lot of oil and lead to excess weight gain. A small, 85-gram serving of fast-food French fries contains 33 grams of carbohydrates, including 3 grams of fiber. Raisins Raisins contain a concentrated level of sugars, which will be quickly absorbed by the body and lead to a sudden spike in blood glucose level that is extremely harmful to people suffering from diabetes. White Bread White bread is made with white flour that contain refined starch, which is one of the most dangerous foods for diabetics. These refined carbohydrates have a high glycemic index that causes a rapid rise in blood sugar levels, which is extremely harmful to diabetic patients. Palm oil Palm oil contain high amount of saturated fat that raises blood cholesterol levels. High blood cholesterol is a risk factor for heart disease. People with diabetes are at high risk of heart disease and limiting your saturated fat can help lower your risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Coffee Drinks Coffee contain caffeine which has been shown in the short term to increase both glucose and insulin levels. Because of this, people with diabetes should be cautious when consuming coffee. Fruit Juices People with diabetes need to moderate their fruit juice intake as larger glasses of juice can substantially raise blood sugar levels. Regular consumption of fruit juice has been linked with an increase in type 2 diabetes risk.

Switching from Beef to Chicken & Fish May Not Lower Cholesterol

The negative impact of red meat on our cholesterol profile may be similar to that of white meat. Subscribe to Dr. Greger’s free nutrition newsletter at https://www.nutritionfacts.org/subscribe and get a free recipe from his new HOW NOT TO DIE COOKBOOK. (All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) Thought chicken was a low fat food? It used to be, but not any more. See: Does Eating Obesity Cause Obesity? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/does-eating-obesity-cause-obesity/) It may be one of the reasons we may be getting fatter as well: Chicken Big: Poultry and Obesity (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/Chicken-Big-Poultry-and-Obesity). Isn’t protein just protein? How does our body know if it’s coming from a plant or an animal? How could it have different effects on cardiovascular risk? See Protein and Heart Disease (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/protein-and-heart-disease/), another reason why Plant Protein [is] Preferable (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/plant-protein-preferable/). I used that same Coke/Pepsi comparison in my analysis of another body of Beef-funded research: BOLD Indeed: Beef Lowers Cholesterol? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/bold-indeed-beef-lowers-cholesterol/) More on the role of oxidized cholesterol in Does Cholesterol Size Matter? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/does-cholesterol-size-matter/) and Arterial Acne (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/arterial-acne/). What about those news stories on the vindication of saturated fat? Why Meat Is Bad For You- In 60 Seconds

01:30
We have been told that animal flesh is an essential part of a healthy diet, but meat consumption has been associated with almost all the major diseases. Meat is high in fat, saturated fat and cholesterol, which will increase the risk of heart disease and can cause other serious health problems like diabetes. It is high in animal-protein, which is far too acidic for the human body and has been linked to kidney disease, cancer and osteoporosis. Most meat also contains antibiotics and growth hormones, like oestrogen and testosterone, which can promote cancer growth. And fish is often contaminated with mercury, which is toxic, and can cause brain damage, and may also contribute to atrial fibrillation and fatal heart attack risk. Fortunately, there is no need to consume meat or other animal products, and a wholefoods, plant-based diet can provide all the essential nutrients for long-term health.
