Foods that Increase the Absorption of Iron!

03:18
Foods that Increase the Absorption of Iron Iron is an essential mineral your body needs to function properly. Thus, it’s vitally important to consume adequate amounts of it in your daily diet. Interestingly, the foods you eat influence not only how much iron you consume, but also how well it is absorbed into your body Foods That Help You Absorb More Iron While not all dietary iron is absorbed equally, some foods can enhance your body’s ability to absorb it. Foods Rich in Vitamin C Sliced Orange Vitamin C has been shown to enhance iron absorption. It captures non-heme iron and stores it in a form that’s more easily absorbed by your body. Foods high in vitamin C include citrus fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, bell peppers, melons and strawberries. In one study, taking 100 mg of vitamin C with a meal increased iron absorption by 67%. Hence, drinking citrus juice or eating other foods rich in vitamin C while you’re eating high-iron foods can increase your body’s absorption. Foods With Vitamin A and Beta-Carotene Vitamin A plays a critical role in maintaining healthy vision, bone growth and your immune system. Beta-carotene is a red-orange pigment found in plants and fruits. It can be turned into vitamin A in your body. Good food sources of beta-carotene and vitamin A include carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, squash, red peppers, cantaloupe, apricots, oranges and peaches. One study of 100 people given cereal-based meals found that the presence of vitamin A increased iron absorption by up to 200% for rice, 80% for wheat and 140% for corn. In the same study, adding beta-carotene to the meals increased absorption more than 300% for rice and 180% for wheat and corn. Meat, Fish and Poultry Cooked Chicken Breast Meat, fish and poultry not only provide well-absorbed heme iron, they can also stimulate absorption of the non-heme form. Several studies have reported that the addition of beef, chicken or fish to a cereal-based meal resulted in about 2–3 times greater non-heme iron absorption. Research has also shown that adding 75 grams of meat to a meal increased the absorption of non-heme iron by about 2.5 times, compared to a meal without it. Based on study findings, it was estimated that 1 gram of meat, fish or poultry provided an enhancing effect similar to that of 1 mg of vitamin C. Tips to Get Enough Iron The tips below can help you maximize your dietary iron intake: Eat lean red meat: This is the best source of easily absorbed heme iron. Eating it several times per week can help if you are deficient. Eat chicken and fish: These are also good sources of heme iron. Eat a variety of them. Consume vitamin C-rich foods: Eat vitamin C-rich foods during meals to increase the absorption of non-heme iron. Avoid coffee, tea or milk near meals: Avoid these during meals that contain iron-rich foods. Have your coffee or tea between meals instead. Choose foods rich in non-heme iron: If you don’t eat meat and fish, include plenty of iron-rich plant foods in your diet.

How to Get the Most out of Vitamin Supplements- Thomas DeLauer

How to Get the Most out of Vitamin Supplements- Thomas DeLauer: When should you take your vitamins? To learn more about how I can help you, head to http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Many factors play a role on how available vitamins and supplements are when you take them. Fat-Soluble Vitamins: Vitamins A, D, E and K- These are stored in the liver and fat stores in your body, so you do not need to consume these every day. They are easy to get from food as they are not easily broken down by heat when cooking. These are the most important vitamins to eat with food, as the name implies, they are only absorbed and used by the body in the presence of fat. These vitamins dissolve in fat and are then delivered to the bloodstream for use in the body. Not much fat is needed, but if taking a supplement, or even eating fruits and veggies, but sure to have some fat added. If you make a healthy smoothie, add some almond butter or you favorite oil, such as macadamia nut oil. When eating salads, do not use fat-free salad dressings! Olive oil and lemon juice are great options. Be careful if you supplement these vitamins and be sure to check with your doctor if you feel you may need to do so. These vitamins are only needed in small quantities and can build up to a dangerous level if too many are taken. Vitamin D is the main fat-soluble vitamin in the US where deficiencies are common. This is due to inadequate exposure to sunlight. Fortified foods and supplements can help. Try to obtain 5-15 minutes of direct sunlight twice per week to avoid a deficiency, and if this is not possible then talk to your doctor about supplementation. Water-Soluble Vitamins: Vitamin C and B-complex vitamins are water soluble vitamins that you need to be sure to include in your diet daily. Unlike fat-soluble vitamins, these vitamins are not stored in your adipose tissue or liver and are in essence washed from your body daily. Food storage and preparation are important when making sure to get sufficient quantities of these vitamins. Deficiencies are uncommon, however vegans do not have a natural source of vitamin B12 and usually need to supplement. While deficiencies are not common, it is still important to consume daily for bodily functioning. As these vitamins dissolve in water, you do not need to take these with foods, although you can if you want to. Minerals: Calcium and Magnesium (2,4) - These are best taken with food and good to take at night. Calcium is linked to improved sleep due to its muscle relaxing abilities and magnesium has calming effects on the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. Zinc (2,4) - Take with or after meals to avoid stomach upset. Do not take with dairy as calcium hampers absorption. Also avoid taking with iron as large quantities of iron can also hurt your body’s ability to absorb zinc. Avoid taking excess zinc, which can lead to anemia through suppression of copper absorption. Iron (4) - Best to take on an empty stomach. Avoid taking with zinc, calcium and vitamin E as these can decrease absorption. If you have a sensitive stomach you may not do well when taking iron on an empty stomach. If so, take with a light meal. Probiotics (4) - Best to take 30 minutes before a meal as this is when digestive enzymes, bile salts and stomach acid are at low levels. These levels peak after a meal, so this is the worst time to take a probiotic. Fiber (2) - Be sure to separate taking fiber from other nutritional supplements as fiber can hamper mineral absorption. Fish Oil (4) – Fish Oil is best to take with food and with your multivitamin, or other fat-soluble vitamins, if you take them. The fat in the food that you eat can help to aid in digestion and absorption. As fats take a long time for your body to digest, it is best not to take fish oil pills or eat a fatty meal pre-workout. This can cause digestive upset. Multivitamins: As these contain both water- and fat-soluble vitamins, take with plenty of water and some food with fat in it, but try not to take with dairy as this can reduce your absorption of zinc. Lightening (or removing dye) with Vitamin C and Shampoo

09:05
Please do not leave this product on your hair for more than an hour (actually, I'd go so far to say to not leave it on for more than 45 minutes). I've noticed over the few times that I've used this method to lighten my hair that it works best with removing dyed hair and will only lift your natural hair by maybe half a level. I've also noticed that after the 45 minute mark that the Vitamin C no longer lifts/lightens your hair color. Do understand that Vitamin C can make your hair feel straw-like if you leave it on for too long, as well as make you feel sick, and even burn your scalp. Always err on the side of caution!!! If your scalp is burning at all during this process, WASH IT OUT. Thank you, all, for your love and support. Vitamin C and Shampoo Recipe Ingredients: 50-60 pills of 1000mg Vitamin C, mashed into powder. 9ish Tablespoons of clear shampoo (I used Prell but it's probably best to use a shampoo without dyes in it) Mixing bowl A spray bottle, filled with water A plastic cap, or bag Instructions: Mix vitamin C and shampoo If you feel the mixture is too thick, add another tablespoon of shampoo. Apply to damp hair. If mixture isn't spreading easily and/or you've run out of mixture, spray more water onto hair and continue to lather in. Once hair is saturated with the mixture, cover with a plastic cap (or bag) and leave for 30-60 minutes. Rinse out, wash with shampoo, and deep condition as this will make your hair dry. Make your own Vitamin C (Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium or Calcium Ascorbate)

02:37
Why? Soluble Vitamin C is much better absorbed than Vitamin C in tablet form: ~16-30 % of Vitamin C in tablets is absorbed v's ~75 % of Vitamin C in soluble form. How? 3 Ingredients: 1) Ascorbic acid AKA raw vitamin C powder (C6H8O6) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascorbic_acid 2) Bicarbonate of soda AKA baking soda (NaHCO3) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_bicarbonate 3) Water (H2O) Instructions: 1) Pour 1" of water in a glass 2) Add one teaspoon of Ascorbic acid (which does not fully dissolve) 3) Add 1/2 a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda 4) After fizzing stops add water to the top (the water is now clear VitC is fully dissolved) NB.You are making sodium ascorbate and the fizz is carbon dioxide Note: Too much Vitamin C has a laxative effect. Take a 1/2 glass then wait 2 hours and take the other half. The half life of Vitamin C is only 30 minutes therefore in 2 hours you have ~1/16 the original dose. Don't take the second dose if you feel the laxative effect coming on. The laxative effect is fairly mild unless you take a LARGE spoonful. 1 teaspoon flat is 2-4 g of Vitamin C. The best time to take Vitamin C is when you are unwell. You can also try magnesium bicarbonate, calcium bicarbonate and potassium bicarbonate to buffer VitC. If you're taking a lot of sodium ascorbate the potassium in particular is the counter ion to sodium and has a calming effect. Calcium (contraction) and magnesium (relaxation) work against each other and taking them in a 1:1 ratio is usually a good way to balance them. Magnesium tends to potentiate the laxative effect so take the dose slowly rather than in one hit. Mg, Ca and K ascorbates taste better if you leave them to react for about 30 minutes. Although if you're deficient in one of those minerals you'll often like the tangy bitter taste and won't care. If you accidentally take too much VitC a capsule or two of activated charcoal will rapidly (within minutes) stop the laxative effect. If you'd like some more orthomolecular medicine... try http://orthomolecular.webs.com Iherb is a good place to get ascorbic acid: http://www.iherb.com/?rcode=zaj505 Use the link (above) to get an extra discount. A special thanks to Emeritus Professor Gerrard Judd who showed me how to make sodium ascorbate.

The Truth about Food Combos :: Why we eat certain foods together

11:50
WATCH. LIKE. SHARE. ______________________ Happy Wednesday Everyone! Growing up I paid for my lunch every day in the school cafeteria. There, promotional posters continuously influenced my food selections advertising milk and bananas. According to the school system, getting my daily dose of calcium and potassium was vital for my growth. That’s all you hear about as a child. You never know why you are doing something. You are only told how “good” or “not good” it is for you. I didn’t know what calcium or potassium even was at that age. Once I grew up to be big and strong I went to college and got my degree in Food and Nutrition Sciences with a concentration in Dietetics. It was only then I was taught the truth behind all of these food combos that I had been exposed to my entire upbringing. I finally learned the true meaning behind meal planning, and now I am hear to give you a small taste into the chemistry behind why foods are recommended together due to their nutritional density. I hope you find this as interesting and educational as I did during my micronutrient classes. Enjoy! Comment suggestions and ideas on what I should talk about next. I'd love to hear what y’all want to know! Best Time To Take Vitamins and Supplements

02:56
Do you know how to take your vitamins and supplements? Timing is everything when it comes to taking your vitamins and supplements, so we've put together a guide to help you maximize the powerful health benefits that come from taking them at the right time. Read more about this on our blog: http://blog.professionalsupplementcenter.com/the-best-time-to-take-nutritional-supplements/ Morning: -Probiotics - Probiotics are best taken in the morning on an empty stomach. • When the stomach is empty, digestive activity is quiet and stomach acid and pH balance are relatively low, increasing the chances for the helpful microorganisms to thrive. -Iron - Iron is best absorbed in the morning on an empty stomach. • Caffeine, dairy and calcium can negatively affect absorption, so it's best to avoid these for several hours after taking iron. -Multivitamins - Take multivitamins with your first meal. In the morning! • As multivitamins contain both water and fat soluble vitamins, be sure to include some healthy fats with your meal for optimal absorption. -B-Complex vitamins - Taking B vitamins with breakfast helps to boost your metabolism and convert your food into energy, which can be used throughout the day. -Vitamin C- Vitamin C is best taken in the morning to support the immune system and boost energy levels. • Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin that lasts only a few hours in the blood stream, so if your formula recommends more than 1 tablet per day, take it in divided doses with meals to get the full benefit. Noon: -CoQ10 - CoQ10 is best taken at lunch time with a meal that contains dietary fats. • Avoid taking CoQ10 late in the day so it doesn't disturb your sleep. -Vitamin D - Vitamin D is best taken with a meal that contains dietary fats. • It's possible that Vitamin D can negatively affect sleep, so lunch time is a good time to get your Vitamin D. -Iodine - Iodine is not stored in the body, so regular intake is needed. kelp tablets taken with lunch may boost midday energy levels. -Vitamin K - Vitamin K is best absorbed along with dietary fats and ideally should be taken during the middle of the day. • Avoid taking vitamin K if you are taking Coumadin or any anticoagulant prescription drug, as Vitamin K can interfere with the effects of the medication. Night: - Fish oil - Important to support many aspects of health, fish oil is best taken with a main meal like dinner to aid absorption. -Calcium - Calcium aids nerve transmission and muscle function. To get the full benefit, take calcium in the evening along with magnesium. -Magnesium - Magnesium has a calming effect on the muscles and nervous system and may aid restful sleep. • Magnesium works synergistically with calcium, so take these together either as individual supplements or in a combined formula. In addition: -Digestive Enzymes - Digestive enzymes can be taken with any meal or within 30 minutes of your meal. Unless you have serious digestive issues, they don't necessarily need to be taken with light meals or snacks, but can be very beneficial for optimal breakdown and absorption of nutrients when taken with main meals. -Fiber - Fiber supplements may be taken either first thing in the morning or before bed. Be sure to take fiber with a full glass of water and get plenty of water during the day. Fiber can delay or reduce the absorption of certain medications so always check with your healthcare provider before taking. How To Treat Mast Cell Activation Syndrome

05:24
What is the best way to treat mast cell activation syndrome if you have this condition? Your FREE Candida Report here: https://www.yeastinfection.org/free-candida-report/ Hi there. Thanks for coming back. It's Eric Bakker, the naturopath. We're going to talk now about some treatment for mast cell activation syndrome. What are some of the best treatment solutions. We've just spoke about diet. And if you're unsure, check out the diet video I did and click on some of the links under there to look at some of the low-histamine diets that you may want to follow. If you've got quite a powerful response and you really believe it's histamine, you may want to look further at salicylate sensitivity and oxalate sensitivity. You could have a little bit of both of those as well. Right? So let's look at now some of the best things you can take if you've got this problem. Well, nothing beats doing the diet, so you really want to make sure you're following the correct diet first. So if you haven't seen the diet video, go back and look at that before you engage in the proper treatment now alright. So, one of the first things I'd recommend would be vitamin C. So, you can take vitamin C in different forms. You can take it in an ester form. You can take it in a buffered form, you know, along with calcium and magnesium ascorbates, for example. You can take it in ascorbic acid form. There are many types. I prefer the buffered form. Ester C is quite okay as well. So, you want to take anywhere between 3,000 to 6,000 milligrams per day as a trial, to see. Because this is a very good antihistamine in its own right. Bioflavonoids are also very good, but you'll need to take larger amounts of these. Quite large amounts. 800 milligrams, 1,000 milligrams, 2,000 milligrams per day, for example, of bioflavonoids. These are vitamin C-like compounds that have an effect on stabilizing the mast cell, to stop it degranulating too quick. So, if you're going to use a bioflavonoid, use quercetin. Quercetin. Q-U-E-R-C-E-T-I-N. Quercetin is a very good flavonoid, and it's often found in plants along with vitamin C. So it helps to stabilize the activity of vitamin C. Basically, it just powers vitamin C up. But it's very good for allergies, quercetin. So I'd recommend you take some quercetin and ascorbic acid or vitamin C powder. You know just to see whatever you want. Take fair or reasonable amounts. You want to take minimum 1,000 milligrams of quercetin a day, and as I mentioned, several thousand milligrams of vitamin C per day. Vitamin B6, or pyridoxal-5-phosphate. B6 is very, very good. B6 has many different actions on the body. Hormonal actions, musculoskeletal actions. An incredible amount. It's one of the most powerful B vitamins that you can use, in terms of the immune response. It works especially well with zinc and magnesium. So if you take a multivitamin, for example, make sure there's B6 in it. What else can we talk about? I think that's about it for this video. Yeah. And remember, the supplements are of no use unless you do a low-histamine diet. So make sure you follow the low-histamine diet, take some supplements, take them regularly. Try that for a good several months to see how you feel. You should notice a reduction in symptoms, if this really is your thing, if this condition is your thing. Thanks for tuning in.

Eat Cinnamon Mixed With Honey For 7 Days And THIS Will Happen To Your Body

Follow us on Twitter: @foods4health1 Recipes4Health: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2bZhXBHIb51n1fE3VWPmcQ/videos To learn more about the health benefits of food, visit: http://www.benefitsoffood.blogspot.com Cinnamon and honey on their own are both very nutritious and promote the overall health of our bodies. They contain important vitamins such as folate, vitamin C and vitamin E, minerals such as calcium, iron and zinc, and even nutrients such as fibre and protein. When combined together, these two ingredients become a nutrient powerhouse that offers incredible health benefits. Lets discuss these health benefits of cinnamon and honey when it is consumed consistently. 1. First, cinnamon and honey can be beneficial for those individuals suffering from diabetes. Cinnamon is a good source of antioxidant flavonoids, which effect on the body closely resembles that of insulin. This means that the mixture can encourage glucose out of the blood and into the cells, which provides functional energy. This natural sugar does not cause the major fluctuations in blood sugar levels as artificial sugar does, and this mixture can help create a steady use of glucose by the body, helping those with Type 2 diabetes. 2. it can also improve digestion when consumed consistently. It can help to manage digestive issues such as constipation, ulcers and nausea, while also increasing the overall health and functionality of the digestive system. If that wasn’t enough, it can also help with the removal of gas from the stomach and intestines, as well as treat stomachaches. Honey is very easy for our body to breakdown since it is a pre-digested nectar, which can soothe our digestive system. Cinnamon is also helpful for its antimicrobial properties in this regard. 3. Cinnamon and honey is also great for our immune system. This mixture can help to boost our immune system, even helping those individuals who may be suffering from chronic fatigue symptoms. It is also helpful for treating common cold and flu symptoms. This is because this mixture is packed with antioxidants. As well, it can help to slow down the growth of bacteria and fungus within the body. 4. It is also great for those individuals suffering from arthritis, and may be beneficial in providing relief from these unwanted symptoms. Consuming this mixture can help to relieve joint pain as well as helping to maintain the overall health of our bones. 5. Cinnamon mixed with honey is also great for our skin! Skin care can be maintained from drinking this mixture, or you can treat minor skin infections and pimples by simply applying the paste on the areas of the skin that are troublesome. These skin health benefits are possible due to the mixture’s antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant characteristics. Not only are minor infections and pimples reduced, but the appearance of wrinkles and age spots can also be reduced. 6. It is also great for our overall heart health. Both the cinnamon and honey can help to reduce cholesterol levels and protect the heart. High LDL cholesterol, or “bad” cholesterol, can lead to atherosclerosis or plaque build up on the walls of the arteries. This can lead to heart related disorders and complications and increase the chances of stroke and heart attacked. 7. Lastly, cinnamon mixed with honey can also improve our overall dental health. Both cinnamon and honey are used in this regard. It can help with eliminating bad breath and also help to relieve toothaches while also promoting the overall health of our teeth due to its antimicrobial properties. Creating the cinnamon and honey mixture is incredibly easy. All you will need is 1 cup of warm water, mixed with 1 tbsp of raw honey and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Make sure the water is not too hot before consuming the mixture. Thank you for watching the video! Please like, comment and share. Vitamin K | Fat Burning Partner to Vitamin D - Thomas DeLauer

04:17
We hear all about this all the time, but is it really true? Does wimpy old vitamin D NEED Vitamin K? http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Do you need vitamin k with vitamin d? Vitamin D A hormone, not an actual vitamin, that your skin makes when exposed to sunlight, so it does not need to acquire it from food if adequate sunlight is available The only natural foods that contain vitamin D are fish and egg yolks Most of us are deficient in vitamin D as we do not spend much time outdoors. Additionally, where we live can limit our access to vitamin D - if you live below 37 degrees south or above 37 degrees north you do not have access to sufficient sunlight except during the summer months. ( This line of latitude crosses below Colorado, Utah and Kansas, so the majority of us in the US require additional dietary vitamin D throughout the year even if we spend time outdoors Sunscreen and skin pigmentation can also act as barriers to vitamin D absorption What Does Vitamin D Do? Reduces belly fat Of all the places to lose fat, the middle of our bodies is usually the hardest and the most important, both for looking lean and for being healthy. Waist-to-hip ratio is a factor in your risk for heart disease and type 2 diabetes Research bomb: A study published in the journal of Clinical Nutrition had 23 overweight participants who all went through a 12-week resistance training program. Half of them took 4,000 IU’s of vitamin D while the others received a placebo. While both groups lost the same amount of fat, the group that took the vitamin D supplements were more likely to have lowered their waist-to-hip ratio to a greater extent when compared to the placebo group. (3) Hormone Regulation and Bone Health The parathyroid glands, located in your neck, release parathyroid hormone. Parathyroid hormone regulates the calcium in your body: When the level of calcium in your blood is low, your parathyroid releases PTH. PTH signals for calcium to be leeched from bones and released into the blood, while also telling your kidneys to create more bioavailable vitamin D. This form of active vitamin D tells your gut to absorb more calcium, as long as you have sufficient vitamin D available. When you are deficient in vitamin D, your body will not absorb enough calcium from your diet and too much calcium will be taken from the bones to be available in the blood. Calcium plays more roles than just bone health - it is crucial for proper functioning of your nervous and muscular systems, so the body is able to take calcium from the bones to perform other functions. Vitamin K Vitamin K is helpful in blood clotting and bone strength. May also help to prevent heart disease, prostate cancer and Alzheimer’s Vitamin K2 and vitamin D3 work together to strengthen bones through their impact on calcium While vitamin D3 essentially regulates how much calcium is absorbed in the diet, vitamin K2 tells the calcium where to go, directing it to bones rather than soft tissues. When calcium attaches to arteries, known as hardening of the arteries, it can lead to cardiovascular complications. Without vitamin K2, the calcium absorbed will not go towards strengthening your bones, and thus vitamin K2 is crucial in the functioning of vitamin D3. Vitamin K2 comes from meats, eggs, hard cheeses and insects. Many people are also deficient in vitamin K2. Diet and Supplementation The best way to stay healthy is to eat a balanced diet full of leafy greens, fruits, veggies and lean proteins. This is how we can be sure we are obtaining a full range of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin D3 is one vitamin/hormone that we often have to supplement. If your supplement vitamin D3, be sure to obtain enough vitamin K2, either through a diet with meats and eggs, or through supplementation as well. Also be sure to obtain calcium through your diet, such as yogurt, leafy greens and legumes, or through supplementation. If you do not have all three in your diet, you may be doing more harm than good. References: 1. All About Ascorbic Acid

29:20
Natural vs Synthetic Ascorbic Acid Natural and synthetic L-ascorbic acid are chemically identical, and there are no known difference in their biological activity. The possibility that the bioavailability of L-ascorbic acid from natural sources might differ from that of synthetic ascorbic acid was investigated in at least two human studies, and no clinically significant differences were observed. Ascorbic Deficiency The following problems should be expected with increased incidence with severe depletion of ascorbate: disorders of the immune system such as secondary infections, rheumatoid arthritis and other collagen diseases, allergic reactions to drugs, foods and other substances, chronic infections such as herpes, or sequelae of acute infections such as Guillain-Barre and Reye's syndromes, rheumatic fever, or scarlet fever, disorders of the blood coagulation mechanisms such as hemorrhage, heart attacks, strokes, hemorrhoids and other vascular thrombosis; failure to cope properly with stresses due to suppression of the adrenal functions such as phlebitis, other inflammatory disorders, asthma and other allergies; problems of disordered collagen formation such as impaired ability to heal, excessive scarring, bed sores, varicose veins, hernias, stretch marks, wrinkles, perhaps even wear of cartilage or degeneration of spinal discs; impaired function of the nervous system such as malaise, decreased pain tolerance, and cancer from suppressed immune system and carcinogens not detoxified, etc. Note: I am not saying that ascorbate depletion is the only cause of the disorders, but I am pointing out that disorders of the systems would certainly predispose to the diseases and that these systems are known to be dependent upon ascorbate for their proper function. Not only is there the theoretical probability that these types of complications associated with infections or stresses could result from ascorbate depletion, but there was a conspicuous decrease in the expected occurrence of complications in the thousands of patients treated with oral tolerance doses or intravenous doses of ascorbate. This impression of marked decrease in these problems is shared by physicians experienced with the use of ascorbate such as Klenner and KaloKerinos. Successful Dosing For very severe illness, the dose he used was large and the most effective route was intravenous, but the intramuscular route was satisfactory. He gave at least 350 mg per kilogram of body weight (a 70 kg man is 150 pounds; thus 70 x 350 = 24,500 mg). This amount was put in 500cc of sterile water, usually dextrose, saline or Ringer's solution. It was diluted so that there was at least 18cc of diluent to each gram of C. Maintenance Doses Maintenance doses are established by the patient taking bowel tolerance doses 6 times a day for at least a week. He observes if there is any unexpected benefit such as clearing of sinuses, decrease in allergies, increase in energy, etc. Should any chronic problem be benefited, then the dose is decreased to the minimum amount producing the effect. Otherwise, a dose such as 4 to 10 grams a day divided in 3-4 doses is recommended. Patients who take ascorbate in large amounts over a long period of time should probably supplement with vitamin A and multiple mineral preparation. How to make Sodium Ascorbate Sodium Ascorbate is a buffered form of Vitamin C that consists of 90% Ascorbic Acid bound to 10% Sodium. This is the optimal form of Vitamin C for intravenous injection. So, if you have 100 grams of ascorbic acid then you would need 10 grams of baking soda, then add distilled water--so your ratio is 9:1. When adding water this mixture will begin to fizz. Mix gently until fizzing stops. What you have left is sodium ascorbate. Formula -8 grams of Ascorbic Acid -500mgs of potassium bicarb -sodium bicarbonate -magnesium citrate -30 mgs of zinc Generally, the ratios are almost 100-160:10 or thereabouts This will allow for better uptake of the minerals and the buffered C

Making Liposomal Vitamin C

09:55
This video is about how I made liposomal vitamin C. This product is used to get vitamin c into your blood and cells without getting the diahrrea associated with multi-gram doses of C. It is said that 6 grams or about an ounce of this stuff is equal as a 50 gram IV of C in your vein. So what's the big deal with vitamin C?.. You will need to research for yourself to come up with that answer.. but the list is long.. dating back to 1949 when a doctor Klenner "cured" 60 out of 60 polio victims with C and got ignored when he gave a talk about it at the AMA convention. They were more interested in how to sell and setup iron lung machines that day. Dr. Thomas Levy who is both a doctor (cardioligist) and a lawyer.. has made it his life's work to research and publish in as many ways as he can think of to spread the word about C. Get his book called "Curing the Incurable". He has written books on Calcium also and how we should NOT be supplementing with it. His latest book is "The Toxic Tooth" about how our root canal teeth and old extractions along with metal fillings are poisoning us. If you have been diagnosed with G6PD Deficency (rare).. You will not want to take MEGA .. doses.. If you are toxic and take some of this, it might make you feel bad while the toxins are coming out of you. This is a page that I just found that has the recipe that I used accept I used buffered vitamin C. Sodium Ascorbate instead of ascrobic acid. http://qualityliposomalc.com/process/index.html Here is another good page with some info on it. http://health-matrix.net/2013/06/17/heal-thyself-with-homemade-liposomal-vitamin-c/

Easy how to Remove Hair Color Using Vitamin C

02:22
How to use vitamin C tablets to remove hair dye. Most professional hair dressers will tell you that bleaching your hair is the only way to remove color which will leave your hair fried and damaged. Fortunately, this isn’t the only option! There is a much more natural way to remove semi-permanent, permanent, and even henna dyes from your hair with little to no damage. It’s a simple little ingredient called Vitamin C, and most of us have a bottle of it in our medicine cabinet! 15-25 Vitamin C Tablets or 1/4-1/2 Cup of Ascorbic Acid Powder 1/4-1/2 Cup Shampoo (clarifying works best but any shampoo will do) 1 TBSP Conditioner (optional) Plastic Mixing Bowl Shower Cap Place the Vitamin C tablets in a ziploc bag and crush into a fine powder with a rolling pin. You can also use a spice grinder to get a super fine texture. (If using Ascorbic Acid powder, measure out 1/4-1/2 cup into a plastic bowl depending on your hair length.) Place the Vitamin C powder into your bowl. Add your shampoo of choice to the Vitamin C powder and mix well until you get a thick, creamy consistency, almost like a paste. If the mixture is too watery, add a little more Vitamin C. For very dry hair, add 1 tbsp of conditioner to the mixture. After mixing, apply the Vitamin C mask to dry hair making sure to saturate each and every strand. Massage the mixture into the hair. Place a shower cap over your hair and set a timer for at least 60 minutes. After an hour has passed, wash hair with hot water for a minimum of 5 minutes. This step is very important! Rinsing your hair thoroughly will ensure that the hair dye molecules will not reattach after the Vitamin C treatment. If you do not rinse your hair long enough, the dye may darken again. Condition and dry hair as usual. Hair may be a tad dry but will bounce back after a deep condition. Depending on how much dye was in your hair, you should notice a considerable difference in color after this treatment. If you have a lot of dye buildup, you may need to repeat this process a few more times. Be sure to give your hair a break between treatments, usually a few days. How to Increase Your Hemoglobin Level

07:32
How to Increase Your Hemoglobin Level 1. Eat Iron-Rich Foods According to the National Anemia Action Council, iron deficiency is the most common cause of low hemoglobin levels. Iron is an important element in hemoglobin production. • Some good iron-based foods are liver, red meat, shrimp, tofu, spinach, almonds, dates, lentils, fortified breakfast cereals, almonds, oysters and asparagus. • You can also take an iron supplement. Consult your doctor for the correct dosage as high doses of iron can be harmful to your body. 2. Increase Vitamin C Intake Low hemoglobin levels due to a deficiency of vitamin C can be corrected by eating more foods rich in vitamin C. Iron cannot be fully absorbed by the body without the help of this vitamin. • Eat foods rich in vitamin C like papaya, oranges, lemon, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli, grapefruit, tomatoes and spinach. • You can also take vitamin C supplements after consulting your doctor. 3. Take Folic Acid Folic acid, a B-complex vitamin, is required to make red blood cells. So, a folic acid deficiency automatically leads to a low hemoglobin level. • Some good food sources of folic acid are green leafy vegetables, liver, rice, sprouts, dried beans, wheat germ, fortified cereals, peanuts, bananas, broccoli and liver. • You can also take 200 to 400 milligrams of a folate supplement daily after consulting your doctor. 4. Beetroots Beetroot is highly recommended to increase hemoglobin levels. It is high in iron, folic acid as well as fiber and potassium. Its nutritional value helps increase the body’s red blood cell count. • Cook 1 to 2 beetroots along with their peels in a microwave or roast them on the stove. Allow them to cool and peel them before eating. • You can prepare a healthy juice with 1 medium-sized beetroot, 3 carrots and 1/2 of a sweet potato. Drink it once daily. 5. Apples An apple a day can help maintain a normal hemoglobin level. Apples are rich in iron along with various other health-friendly components that are required for a healthy hemoglobin count. • Eat at least 1 apple (if possible, opt for green apples) with its skin daily. • You can also prepare a glass of juice by mixing 1/2 cup each of apple juice and beetroot juice. Add a little ginger or lemon juice and drink it twice daily. 6. Blackstrap Molasses A folk remedy used to fight anemia and increase your hemoglobin level is blackstrap molasses. Blackstrap molasses contains iron, folate and many B vitamins that can help increase red blood cell production efficiently. 1. Mix 2 teaspoons each of blackstrap molasses and apple cider vinegar in 1 cup of water. 2. Drink this once daily. 7. Pomegranate Pomegranate has iron and calcium as well as protein, carbohydrates and fiber. Its nutritional value can help increase hemoglobin in the blood and promote healthy blood flow. • Eat a medium-size pomegranate or drink a glass of pomegranate juicedaily with your breakfast. • Another option is to take 2 teaspoons of dried pomegranate seed powder with a glass of warm milk once daily. 8. Nettle Nettle is an herb that can play a key role in raising your hemoglobin level. It is a good source of iron, B vitamins, vitamin C and other vitamins that can help increase hemoglobin. 1. Add 2 teaspoons of dried nettle leaves to a cup of hot water. 2. Allow it to steep for 10 minutes. 3. Strain, then add a little honey. 4. Drink this twice daily. 9. Avoid Iron Blockers If you have a low hemoglobin level, you must avoid eating foods that can block your body’s ability to absorb iron. Some examples of iron-blocking foods are: • Coffee • Tea • Colas • Wine • Beer • Over–the-counter antacids • Calcium-rich foods like dairy products and calcium supplements 10. Exercise Include some sort of exercise in your daily routine. When you exercise, the body produces more hemoglobin to meet the increasing demand for oxygen throughout the body. • Moderate to high intensities of aerobic exercises are highly recommended. DIY intravenous vitamin C

10:01
Help us caption and translate this video on Amara.org: http://www.amara.org/en/v/B1OD/ Preparation and infusion of high dose vitamin C (buffered ascorbic acid) at home. After being denied care at two infusion clinics due to my HIV status, to say nothing of the high cost, I am getting closer to being self-sufficient about giving myself the infusions. In addition to initial consult charges ranging from $150 to $300, clinics charge $150-175 per infusion. I estimate that I can do three home infusions for the same price. All I gotta' do is learn how to hit those veins. ADDED 06/09/2015: This seems to be a very confusing subject. Vitamin C Foundation, for example, states that only sodium ascorbate be used and that ascorbic acid is too acidic. Yet in the same article they later state: "Ascorbic acid (hydrogen ascorbate) is highly reactive, and the most powerful and fastest acting form of vitamin C. The Vitamin C Foundation believes that the ascorbic acid form of vitamin C is more potent fighting infections, and may be better against heart disease. However, it is too acidic to safely use intravenously. Ascorbic acid must be buffered for IV, or sodium ascorbate can be mixed with water for IV." This seems to imply that ascorbic acid is actually "better", but needs to be buffered. The product manufactured by Merit Pharmaceutical states it is ascorbic acid that has been "buffered" with sodium bicarbonate and sodium hydroxide. I get my IVC at the Riordan Clinic, in Wichita, Kansas, which has been performing IV vitamin C for more than 30 years. I'll trust them to take good care of me. I think it's safe to safe that ascorbic acid should not be used without proper buffering. I would also say that the only safe way to do this is by working with professionals who have training and experience in the field. I regret using the term "do it yourself" in the title of this video. Clotting Factors - Coagulation Cascade

They are designated by Roman Numerals I through XIII. When a blood vessel is damaged, these clotting factors are switched on in a certain order (Blood Clotting Cascade) [link to coagulation page] and work to form a clot. Specifically, these 13 factors normally combine to a clot. If one factor is missing or present at low levels, this causes hemophilia and other blood clotting problems and a proper clot will not form. The two most common factor deficiencies are: factor 8 (or factor VIII) deficiency and factor 9 (or factor IX) deficiency. The most common, affecting 80% of the hemophilia population - those with hemophilia A - is factor VIII. When these blood clotting proteins aren't present is not easily stopped. This factor is so important to the treatment of hemophilia, that instead of saying they have "hemophilia A or B," most people say they are "Factor VIII" or "Factor IX" to identify their condition. Various substances are required for the proper functioning of the coagulation cascade: Calcium and phospholipid (a platelet membrane constituent) are required for the tenase and prothrombinase complexes to function. Calcium mediates the binding of the complexes via the terminal gamma-carboxy residues on FXa and FIXa to the phospholipid surfaces expressed by platelets, as well as procoagulant microparticles or microvesicles shed from them. Calcium is also required at other points in the coagulation cascade. Vitamin K is an essential factor to a hepatic gamma-glutamyl carboxylase that adds a carboxyl group to glutamic acid residues on factors II, VII, IX and X, as well as Protein S, Protein C and Protein Z. In adding the gamma-carboxyl group to glutamate residues on the immature clotting factors Vitamin K is itself oxidized. Another enzyme, Vitamin K epoxide reductase, (VKORC) reduces vitamin K back to its active form. Vitamin K epoxide reductase is pharmacologically important as a target of anticoagulant drugs warfarin and related coumarins such as acenocoumarol, phenprocoumon, and dicumarol. These drugs create a deficiency of reduced vitamin K by blocking VKORC, thereby inhibiting maturation of clotting factors. Vitamin K deficiency from other causes (e.g., in malabsorption) or impaired vitamin K metabolism in disease (e.g., in liver failure) lead to the formation of PIVKAs (proteins formed in vitamin K absence) which are partially or totally non-gamma carboxylated, affecting the coagulation factors' ability to bind to phospholipid. Tissue factor pathway (extrinsic)[edit] The main role of the tissue factor pathway is to generate a "thrombin burst", a process by which thrombin, the most important constituent of the coagulation cascade in terms of its feedback activation roles, is released very rapidly. FVIIa circulates in a higher amount than any other activated coagulation factor. The process includes the following steps:[7] Following damage to the blood vessel, FVII leaves the circulation and comes into contact with tissue factor (TF) expressed on tissue-factor-bearing cells (stromal fibroblasts and leukocytes), forming an activated complex (TF-FVIIa). TF-FVIIa activates FIX and FX. FVII is itself activated by thrombin, FXIa, FXII and FXa. The activation of FX (to form FXa) by TF-FVIIa is almost immediately inhibited by tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI). FXa and its co-factor FVa form the prothrombinase complex, which activates prothrombin to thrombin. Thrombin then activates other components of the coagulation cascade, including FV and FVIII (which activates FXI, which, in turn, activates FIX), and activates and releases FVIII from being bound wATCH AGAIN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1wYycfGFjU SUBSCRIBE https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOmrniWfKi-uCD6Oh6fqhgw -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- CHECK OUT NEWEST VIDEO: "Nucleic acids - DNA and RNA structure " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lZRAShqft0 -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Vitamins & Supplements: How Long It Takes To Feel Effects, When to Take Them, & Why

01:49
Have you ever wondered how long it takes to feel the effects of a vitamin or supplement you swallow? It turns out, the length of time it will take for you to feel the effects of a supplement depends on a lot of factors. The 3 Most Common Nutrient Deficiencies The three most common nutrients deficient in the U.S. diet are vitamin B-6, vitamin D and iron, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Vitamin D is important for bone health, while both vitamin B-6 and iron help create red blood cells. If you are Vitamin B-6 and Iron deficient , chances are after a month’s time you’ll notice improvements from taking Vitamin B-6 and Iron in the form of increased energy and concentration. Different Kinds of Vitamins: Fat vs. Water Soluble The type of supplement you’re taking can determine how long it takes to feel an effect. For example If you’re taking a vitamin supplement, it will depend on whether the vitamin is fat soluble or water soluble. Fat Soluble Vitamins The fat soluble vitamins are A, D, E, and K. These vitamins dissolve in fat and are stored within the tissues of the body. Because they are stored in the body, levels can continue to increase as you take in more of the vitamin, but this also means that it will take more time for you to feel their effect. For example, many of us are deficient in vitamin D, especially during the winter months when we don’t make as much of it by being exposed to sunlight. Those of us who are deficient and start on a vitamin D supplement usually take five to six weeks to reach the recommended level of vitamin D. Water Soluble Vitamins The B vitamins and vitamin C are all water soluble. This means that they dissolve in water and are not stored in the body, so it’s important to take these vitamins daily to replenish them. Water soluble vitamins are absorbed more rapidly, so you’ll feel an effect from them more quickly than fat-soluble supplements. An example is the B vitamins. Being deficient in a B vitamin can result in tiredness and lethargy. After you start taking a vitamin B complex supplement, you may notice heightened energy in just a few weeks. Your mineral or vitamin levels to start with Your level of the vitamin or mineral before you start taking a supplement as mentioned before is also important. If you’re really deficient in a certain vitamin, and you start taking a supplement, you may feel an effect more quickly. If your intake was not as low to start out but not quite where it should be, chances are it will take longer to notice the effects of the supplement. Your symptoms should gradually improve, but you won’t feel a big difference right away. Supplements interacting with each other Vitamins and minerals have complex roles in our bodies, and there are countless interactions that determine how they function. For example, vitamin D and calcium work together to build strong teeth and bones. If you start taking a calcium supplement, it’ll be more effective if you also have adequate vitamin D levels – either through your diet or through supplements.

Can Vitamin D Cause Constipation?

04:40
Greetings, it's Eric Becker, the naturopath. The question today is can Vitamin D cause constipation? Well it can, but only in extremely rare cases. You'd have to take an incredible amount of Vitamin D to get serious side effects from it. In all the years I've worked with patients I've never seen a serious side effect on Vitamin D. Even when I work with people up to 25,000 international units per day, three or four times that dose, 75,000 units per day for weeks on end, months on end for treating acne. And I've not seen any bad effects come from Vitamin D. However, if you're drinking a bottle of whiskey a day and you're taking 5000 units of Vitamin D can be seriously bad 'cause you're impairing your liver function. So if you're doing dumb things like taking lots of Tylenol, paracetamol, ibuprofen, Valium, Paxil, if you're taking all these drugs like candy and taking Vitamin D, that can be a problem. And that's what I see some patients do is they'll take five to six medications per day and then they'll pop a few Vitamin C or D tablets and they'll think, "Oh I'll just clean my liver out from all this toxicity." But you can't do that. You need to see someone like me or a doctor or someone who understands the interaction of drugs and supplements otherwise you're going to be in hot water. Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin and you've got four of them. You've got Vitamin A, D, E and K. They're all fat soluble. Now healthy people like me, they don't usually have any problems at all with fat soluble vitamins 'cause they don't really do crazy things like drink tons of alcohol or smoke or do dumb things like that. They don't take handfuls of drugs all the time so their liver's pretty clean and tidy. It can easily process the fat soluble vitamin. The digestive system is in good condition. It can break the fat soluble down properly and absorb it and excrete the waste products. That's how the body's meant to operate. When the body's poisoned, however, with takeaway foods, lots of Coca-Cola and alcohol, when you pay lip service to diet and eat whatever, then you could have some problems with Vitamin D. This is why doctors unfortunately always zoom in on Vitamin D saying it's toxic, it's bad. They'll give out antibiotics on this hand and on that hand they'll take the Vitamin D from you saying it's toxic so it's pretty crazy isn't it? So Vitamin D can cause constipation in some people if it's taken in excessive amounts. We're talking 40,000 international units. I've seen people take 5-600,000 international units a day. Don't laugh I've seen it happen. These were people that were very sick with cancer and they thought well I'll just really mega, mega boost on Vitamin D. A very silly thing to do. When you megadose on Vitamin D, it can cause hypercalcemia in the body so too much calcium buildup and that can affect your kidneys or your eyes or your heart or your brain. It can lead to a lot of different health problems. You can also get muscle problems. You can even get seizures from high dose Vitamin D. So you need to be cautious with Vitamin D that you don't go excessive. Here's what you do. Get a blood test done. Check your level of Vitamin D. You want to have it between 70 to 100 is a good reading for Vitamin D. Many people I see are 10, 20, 30 and the doctor says it's perfectly fine. When I started testing patients for Vitamin D 25 years ago, they weren't doing Vitamin D testing. They didn't even think it was relevant to test for Vitamin D back then. And even now they're reluctant to test for it. The day will come when a test for all minerals and vitamins in the body of every human being and medicine hopefully will working on the premise of building up the health with minerals and vitamins rather than poisoning it with Tylenol and Paxil and crap like that. So what's the solution? The solution is get your Vitamin D level tested particularly going into wintertime. Make sure that your levels are well over 50 hopefully 70. And if they're not that level, you want to start taking 5000 international units of Vitamin D3. Make sure you get the D3, the cholecalciferol, the D3. So you take one capsule of that per day with a main meal and after about I would say eight weeks, 12 weeks, get the level tested again. Make sure that your level is up around the 70 mark. That could potentially hold off a lot of chronic diseases. It's well worth doing. But yes it can cause constipation. If you take crazy amounts, anything can cause constipation. So I hope that answers the question. Thanks for tuning in.

10 Amazing impressive Benefits of Apricots(Khubani) check details in urdu hindi

07:12
Hakeem ka hakeem since 1967 https://youtu.be/gBPl_SvPzPY The health benefits of apricots include its ability to treat indigestion, constipation, earaches, fever, skin diseases, cancers, and anemia. Apricots also help improve heart health, and treat strained muscles and wounds. It is also believed that apricot is good for skin care, which is why it makes an important addition to various cosmetics. Furthermore, apricots have the ability to reduce cholesterol levels, prevent the deterioration of vision, aid in weight loss, treat respiratory conditions, boost bone strength, and maintain electrolyte balance in the body. Apricots Apricots, scientifically known as Prunus armeniaca, are small drupes that resemble and are closely related to peaches or plums. They have a soft, tangy flesh beneath a thin outer skin. In the middle of the apricot is a large pit, which is inedible, so be careful when taking that first big bite! They are typically yellow or orange, with a slight tinge of red on one side. It is difficult to understand the exact order of apricot cultivation around the world since it was both found wild and grown in prehistoric times. The scientific name is derived from Armenia, which is where most scientists believe apricots originated. However, they were also present in ancient Greece and Rome, and many other experts claim that original cultivation happened in India more than 3,000 years ago. The disputed origins are not important, but the impact of apricots on human health certainly is! Apricots can be consumed directly, or dried and then eaten as a variety of dried fruit. It is also used in the preparation of various juices, jams, squash, and jellies. Apricot oil can also be obtained from its kernel, and those powerful essential oils also have a lot of important impacts on health. [1] They can be enjoyed in a wide variety of ways, and every culture treats apricots differently! One of the reasons they have been so popular throughout history is that they can be directly linked to a number of health benefits, due to their unique organic compounds, nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, which are listed below. [2] Watch Video: 7 Best Benefits Of Apricots For the latest videos, please subscribe to our channel Nutritional Value of Apricots The impressive health benefits of apricots are due to the content of vitamins, including vitamins A, C, K, E, and niacin in significant amounts, as well as a number of other essential vitamins in trace amounts (less than 5% of daily requirement). Apricots also have a good mineral content, which includes potassium, copper manganese, magnesium, and phosphorous. They are a very good source of dietary fiber, like most fruits. Health Benefits of Apricots Apricots have an abundance of health benefits. Let us take a look at them below. Relieve Constipation Apricots are rich in fiber and are, therefore, good for smooth bowel movements. They are often recommended to patients who regularly suffer from constipation due to the laxative properties. Fiber is a way to bulk up the stool. In this way, it becomes easier to transport through the bowels to its eventual excretion from the body. Fiber stimulates the gastric and digestive juices that help absorb the nutrients and break down the food for easier processing. [3] Furthermore, fiber also activates the peristaltic motion of the digestive tract, and those smooth muscle movements are what keep your bowel movements regulated. Strengthen Bones Apricots have significant or moderate amounts of all the minerals necessary for bone growth like calcium, phosphorous, manganese, iron, and copper. [4] Therefore, eating apricots can ensure the healthy growth and development of your bones, as well as preventing various age-related conditions, including osteoporosis. Improve Heart Health Apricots are a wonderful way to protect your heart from a wide variety of diseases, including atherosclerosis, heart attacks, and strokes. [5] A high amount of vitamin C, as well as potassium and dietary fiber, all contribute to good cardiovascular health. Vitamin C protects the heart from free radicals, potassium lowers blood pressure by relaxing the tension of blood vessels and arteries, while dietary fiber scrapes the excess cholesterol from the lining of the vessels and arteries, thereby clearing them and reducing the strain on the heart. Altogether, these properties of apricots make them ideal for boosting heart health. Improve Metabolism Fluid levels throughout the body are dependent mainly on two minerals, potassium, and sodium. [6] The high amounts of potassium in apricots has been linked to maintaining fluid balance in the body, and ensuring that energy is properly distributed to the right organs and muscles. By maintaining a healthy balance of electrolytes, you can have more energy, reduce cramping, and keep blood and usable energy pumping through your body as you need it.
