How to Treat Feline Upper Respiratory Illness

05:25
Feline upper respiratory illness (URI) affects a cat’s mouth, nasal passages, upper airway, and possibly the eyes. It is usually caused by one or more infectious agents. Two viruses—feline herpes virus-1 (FHV-1) and feline calicivirus (FCV)—commonly cause feline URI; Bordetella and Chlamydia are bacteria that can cause feline URI. Feline URI can make your cat feel pretty miserable, so it is best to treat your cat as soon as you notice signs of the disease. The sooner you treat your cat, the sooner she will feel better and get back to her normal activities. Welcome to Pets and Animals YouTube Channel. Dr. Carol's Eye Restore for Dogs and Cats https://amzn.to/2EMMRYI Eye health is important to the overall health of cats and should be assessed by cat owners on a regular basis. Knowing what to look for and how to act if you suspect an infection is important to preventing long-term problems with your cat's eyes. Early detection allows you to decide if you can manage the problem at home or if a trip to the vet is essential. If in doubt, always seek professional advice because some problems can be dangerous and could potentially cause a loss of vision or an eye. Welcome to Pets and Animals YouTube Channel. Apple Cider Vinegar can heal your dog or cat

04:45
Apple cider vinegar saved my pet, Sasha. This simple home remedy does wonders for cats and dogs. It cures stomach problems including runny stool, vomiting and urinary tract infections common among house pets. It also curbs those pesky hair balls and unnecessary vomiting. It does wonders with their immune system and their respiratory system, and aids their digestive track. It's also good for urinary tract infections or prevents crystals from forming in the urine, and it gets rid of those brown tear stains. In fact, it helped my cat who was near death get back on track. I really love this stuff. Less is more so please don't give your cat more than a recommended dose of 1/4 tsp diluted in 8 ozs. of water. They trust you, so don't hurt them. My cat, Sasha, had been sick for 3 weeks straight before I stumbled on this information. It really, really works. I thank God for it because I'm not sure if my cat would have survived. He lost a lot of weight while he was sick. He weighs 20 pounds and it was noticeable. Now, he's gained 80 percent of his weight back and he's not sick anymore. He got sick because I changed to high quality cat food, but he was too old to adjust to the change, so I had to switch him back. He is happy as a little clam now. He's birthday is in December. He will be 15 years old -- that's a major milestone for any cat. Sasha has since gone on to heaven, but he was 17 years old when he passed, and he had a fabulous quality of life before he passed. So, I could be the poster child for this stuff. This is a rescue cat. About two months after taking him in, having him neutered and blending him into the group with the other cats, he started showing signs of a respiratory infection. This is day three of his antibiotic regimen. He hasn't been eating or drinking, so this is a mixture of water and liquid from canned cat food, just a few drops at a time. He simply couldn't be any sweeter about wanting to cooperate.

My New Kitten has an Upper Respiratory Infection

12:25
Meet Puma, my new Kitten!! I brought him home and literally within a few hours he got really sick. He was sick for about 5 days before he started acting like a normal cat and started drinking and eating food. He is a very energetic and playful kitten ( most kittens are) but when he got sick all he did was lay around and sleep all day! These are the tell-tale signs of a Respiratory infection. Know that this is very common for kittens and usually resides on its own! If your cat isn't eating or drinking water for more than 2-3days please contact your Veterinarian!
