Can you get pregnant right after stopping the pill?

07:02
Can you get pregnant right after stopping the pill? Taking the pill does not mean a woman never wants to get pregnant. If the time arrives when she does want to conceive, she may wonder how long it will take her to become pregnant. The answer to this question can depend not only on when she stopped taking the pill but other factors, including age and overall health. Fast facts about getting pregnant after stopping the pill: The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services estimate almost 62 percent of women between 15 to 44 years of age use contraception. A variety of birth control pills are available on prescription in the United States. Sometimes taking the pill can conceal menstrual cycle irregularities. Women may not get pregnant right after stopping the pill, as the menstrual cycle reestablishes itself.

7 Signs Of Infertility In Women

05:51
We discuss the seven major signs which are a definite indicator of infertility in women. We sincerely hope you are not suffering from any of these conditions, and even if you are, there is no need to panic, all these conditions while they are signs of infertility in women, can well be treated if you attend to them soon enough. There aren’t any foolproof ways to ascertain if a woman might be infertile. It is not a disorder that gives you very obvious signs and symptoms. Mostly women over the age of 35 after an unsuccessful one year of trying to conceive realise that they perhaps are infertile. Usually unable to get pregnant in about 12 months time of having unprotected intercourse is the greatest indicator that there might be a problem somewhere. This is when without any further ado you should reach out to your doctor. But be assured that infertility can be treated. And if you wish to be a mother soon there are several medical procedures including IVF. But even if you aren’t looking to have a baby just yet, you can watch out for these signs of infertility in women.

10 Warning Signs of Cervical Cancer You Shouldn’t Ignore

07:45
10 Warning Signs of Cervical Cancer You Shouldn’t Ignore More than 40 years ago cervical cancer was a major cancer death risk for women. With the development of pap tests and in-depth recognition of warning signs those numbers are dropping significantly. We still aren’t completely safe however, as many thousands of American women are still affected by cervical cancer every year. Picking up on risk factors and warning signs could save an individual from a lifetime of suffering. Cervical Cancer Risk Factors Acknowledging the risk factors that make women more likely to contract cervical cancer will help women to reveal a greater insight to their cancer risk. Human Papilloma Virus Infection (HPV) – There are over a hundred different viruses grouped here and some are spread through skin contact and considered a stepping stone to cervical cancer. Detection of HPV is usually through the discovery of warts or pap smears. Food Intake – overweight women and women that have a diet devoid of essential nutrients from fruit and vegetables face a higher risk of cervical cancer. Birth Control Pills – The female hormones found in some oral contraceptives may provide some cancers with ideal breeding grounds. Also the risk of cervical cancer goes up the longer a woman takes oral contraceptives and doubles after 5 years of using them. Genetics – There are conflicting references regarding this issue. Some references claim that cervical cancer is something that can be passed down among family members, giving women with a genetic history of the cancer about 2-3 times more of a risk. However I’ve seen other references that claim that there is no genetic component to this type of cancer. HIV – The virus that causes AIDS damages the immune system and increases the risk risk for HPV infection. Chlamydia Infection – Women who show signs of past or current chlamydia infection have a higher risk of cervical cancer. Smoking – Women who smoke double their chances to get cervical cancer. It is believed that tobacco by-products damage the DNA of cervix cells, and may contribute to developing this cancer. Smoking also affects the immune system, making it harder to fight HPV infections. And indeed smoking is one of the top 10 habits to stop right now if you want to be healthy. Multiple pregnancies – Women who have had 3 or more full-term pregnancies have an increased risk of developing cervical cancer. No one really knows why this is true. First pregnancy at a young age – Women who were younger than 17 years when they had their first full-term pregnancy are almost 2 times more likely to get cervical cancer later in life than women who waited to get pregnant until they were 25 years or older. https://youtu.be/aKfrUcInaLU

Long Term Side Effects Of Birth Control Pills | Birth Control Pills Side Effects

03:23
Long Term Side Effects Of Birth Control Pills | Birth Control Pills Side Effects Subscribe To Get New Videos Daily: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCi1zZ8_Q7yqKInXImLCLfXw Hormonal birth control has been available to American women since the early 1960s with the introduction of "the pill." Since then, birth control via hormones can also be accomplished with injections, patches, implants and rings, although pills remain the most popular method and the most studied. All hormonal methods are meant to maintain high levels of estrogen and progesterone, which prevent women from ovulating. Controversy exists over what side effects occur with long-term use of birth control pills. Sexual Side Effects: Although women usually take birth control pills to enhance their sexual experience, there is evidence that with long-term use, it may actually make it less enjoyable for many. In 2006, a study was published in the "Journal of Sexual Medicine" that concluded long-term use of birth control pills can lead to sexual dysfunction. Specifically, the researches commonly found decreased sexual desire, sexual arousal and vaginal secretions or lubrication in the 124 women on birth control pills who were studied. The women also reported reduced sexual satisfaction and an increase in sex-related pain because of the reduced lubrication. The same research team also took blood samples from the women and realized they had elevated globulin levels, which was chronically suppressing their testosterone levels. The researchers concluded that the synthetic estrogens in birth control pills may cause permanent changes in the way genes function, resulting in a long-lasting reduction in testosterone available to the body. Cancers: It is known that some cancers need sex hormones to thrive, which is why an increased risk of breast cancer has been linked to elevated estrogen levels in women. The National Cancer Institute states that some studies have shown an increased risk of breast cancer in women taking oral contraceptives, while other studies have shown no change in risk. Generally, women older than 45 years of age who have been taking birth control pills for most of their adult lives have the highest risk of breast cancer for two reasons: long-term consecutive use of the oral contraceptive and use of earlier versions that had higher levels of sex hormones. The National Cancer Institute also notes that oral contraceptive use has been shown to increase the risk of cervical cancer and liver cancer. On the other hand, multiple studies indicate a potential decrease in risk of ovarian and endometrial cancers for women on oral contraceptives. Other Long-Term Side Effects: Other long-term side effects from oral contraceptive use include an increased risk of blood clots, heart attack, stroke, weight gain, hypertension and migraine headaches. These effects seem to be increased by cigarette smoking. Long-term use of synthetic hormones has also been linked to nutritional deficiencies, such as low levels of vitamins B2, B6 and B12, depression and increased feelings of anxiety, according to "Hormone Replacement Therapy and The Brain." https://www.livestrong.com/article/17404-stop-nausea-caused-birth-control/ Music Source: www.bensound.com Health Disclaimer: The information on this channel is only for educational purposes. How can I find birth control that doesn't contain hormones or increase the risk of cancer?

01:28
You have a question about birth control and how it relates to an increased chance of cancer. Your mom unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 36, and of course, that does increase your chances of having cancer since you have a 1st degree relative who had it. But the types of contraception that your mother can use and the types of contraception that you can use (having not been diagnosed with cancer) may be slightly different. I do recommend talking with your doctor about your family history, and your concerns, and your past history (it sounds like you've gotten pregnant while using certain forms of contraception), and based on their knowledge of your circumstances, they'll be able to give you the best advice about what's right for you. Generally speaking, oral contraceptives (or birth control pills) are the ones that are given a bad rap and are associated with cancer. But large studies have been done on this exact topic, and they've actually been shown to reduce a woman's chance of developing certain cancers and only slightly increasing her risk for others. There are other health factors to consider besides cancer when choosing a form of birth control, so again, this is why you should always talk with your doctor about it. And based on their knowledge of your circumstances, they'll be able to decide which one is right for you. If you have more questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/IntermountainMoms, and recommend us to your friends and family too.

Link to study abstract. http://www.abstractsonline.com/Plan/V...} There is breaking news from the American Assoc. for Cancer Research. A study presented in Chicago by the American Assoc. for Cancer Research just announced hormone therapy use increases a woman's risks for breast cancer. I wanted to talk and give you some easy tips on how to balance your hormones naturally. The study was conducted at Harvard Medical School where they studied over 100,000 registered nurses for approximately 28 years. The results found that the women who used any type of hormone therapy for more than 10 years had a significantly higher risk of developing breast cancer. The longer your hormone use, the higher your risks factor. I wanted to talk about this because so many women take birth control pills when they are young and HRT (hormone replacement therapy) for menopausal symptoms as they age. Now we have this long term study showing the results of this hormone use. Doctors like Dr. Wendy Chen the lead researcher of the study now say women should use the lowest dose needed for the shortest time possible. The good news is there are many ways to balance your hormones and reduce the estrogen in your body. I want to give you a couple easy and natural tips on how to do this. 1. First, try to eat meat that is hormone free. Whether it's chicken, beef or pork, look for meat that says raised without hormones. The same goes for milk. Certified Organic milk contains no hormones. 2. Take a powdered green supplement everyday. Something that contains the herb milk thistle and or dandelion root and this will help your liver process estrogen and remove it from your body. 3. Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, brussel sprouts and cauliflower all help reduce estrogen dominance. If these are not your favorite vegetables, you can take a supplement that does this is called indinol 3. 4. Drink filtered water is another good idea because there are large amount of hormones in our water supply. 5. Also reducing your caffeine intake will help balance your hormones and stop microwaving your food in plastic containers because this leach toxin that act as estrogen into your body. 6. If you are dealing with menopausal symptoms such as night sweats and hot flashes, there are natural alternatives to HRT - Chinese herbs have been used for centuries and are a safe solution. Pacific Herbs sells a Menopause Relief Herb Pack that works fast for these symptoms and is made from herbs that has over 500 years of use. You can find it here. https://www.pacherbs.com/products-pag... You can also check us out on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C... I hope you'll research the new study results for yourself. Please pass on this information to other women you know And leave me a comment I would love to hear what you have to say.,

Birth Control | I Was On It For Over 10 Years

02:04
I was on birth control for 10 years. I was put on birth control my freshmen year of high school. I had bad periods, I would get bad cramps in my stomach and back, I would vomit, and I would miss school. So, I did what a lot of girls my age do and got on the pill to manage the pain and affects of being on my period. I was never explained the side effects. I was never offered a different kind of solution to what I was experiencing and I never asked. Once I hit Chiropractic school, I realized and learned how bad the pill is for you and there are options, that take time, to heal and help. I got off the pill. (It's funny what you learn about when you don't get paid prescribing meds.) I immediately started an anti-inflammatory diet (no bread, no grain, no gluten). I upped my fish oil and cod liver oil. I added vitamin D3. I added bovine ovary. I added probiotics. I made sure to be active to stimulate hormones and added meditation. It was through my diet and lifestyle that I was able to assist my body to level out hormones, decrease my menstrual pain. I will admits it is not 100% of the time but it is 100% better than it was. I wish I had something like Micro-Factor to easily add into my life. That would have made my pocket a little more full while trying to heal.😂 With anything that's worth fighting for... it takes time, consistency and hard work to help from within naturally. I hope this helps someone. Oral contraceptives increase the risk of women suffering from certain types of stroke, new research suggests.Birth-control pills raise a woman's likelihood of suffering from an ischemic stroke, which occurs when an artery to the brain is blocked and makes up around 85 percent of cases of the life-threatening condition, a study found. The researchers, from Loyola University in Chicago, wrote: '[Among] women with other stroke risk factors, the risk seems higher and, in most cases, oral contraceptive use should be discouraged'.Such contraceptives do not raise the risk of hemorrhagic strokes, which are caused by bleeding in the brain, the research adds.Birth-control pills, patches and jabs are thought to rise the risk of artery blockages by making blood more likely to clot. The researchers stress, however, the risk is low among women without any risk factors for clotting. These include high-blood pressure and smoking. Most women have tried at least one hormonal contraceptive in their lives. In the US, nearly 37 percent of women are currently using birth control.Stroke is the third leading cause of death in women in the US, with 55,000 more females suffering than men every year.Women not being screened for stroke risk-factorsResults further suggest women are not being accurately screened for potential stroke risk-factors before being prescribed hormonal contraceptives.Among women at risk of the medical emergency, only 15 percent recall being advised not to take birth-control pills, while just 36 percent have been told to stop taking the medication. Some 15 percent of women carry on their birth-control course after being told to discontinue. The researchers believe this highlights the need for effective doctor-patient communication.Speaking of how women can reduce their stroke risk, the researchers wrote: 'The ideal drug is one with the lowest estrogen and progestin doses that will be effective in preventing pregnancy while minimizing adverse effects.'The findings were published in the journal MedLink Neurology.Starting periods before the age of 10 raises women's risk of strokesThis comes after research released last month suggested women who start their period before 10 years old, or enter the menopause younger than 45, have an increased risk of suffering a stroke.Menstruating before the age of 13 is often caused by obesity, which also puts individuals at a higher risk of cardiovascular events, such as stroke, a study review found. The menopause is associated with a decline in heart-protective hormones, such as oestrogen, which prevents fats from circulating in the bloodstream and raising women's stroke risk, the research adds.Experiencing hot flushes prematurely could mean women lack these protective hormones for longer than the average female, raising their risk of a blood clot in the brain.Fluctuating hormones during the menopause also increase so-called 'bad cholesterol' levels, further boosting such women's risk, the research adds.Study author Dr Kathr AutoNews- Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-5468371/Why-birth-control-pill-kill-you.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

Ovary cancer risk factors explained by CancerBro

01:11
In the previous video, you met Mrs. Owens - an ovarian cancer patient. Today, CancerBro will explain various risk factors of ovarian cancer. Video Transcript: CancerBro, Could you please discuss the risk factors in detail? Early age of starting menses and late age of menopause are the risk factors for the disease. Late age of marriage increases the risk of ovarian cancer. Also, no child or late birth, after 30 to 35 years of age increases the risk of ovarian cancer. Inadequate breastfeeding also increases the risk of ovarian cancer. Intake of hormone replacement therapy after menopause increases the risk of ovarian cancer and consumption of birth control pills decreases the risk. Increasing obesity is also a risk factor, therefore, regular physical activity may help in reducing the risk of ovarian cancer. History of breast or ovarian cancer in close relatives increases the risk in other family members. So these were the risk for ovarian cancer. That was important information CancerBro. A lot of cases can be prevented if these risk factors are kept in mind. Absolutely, prevention is better than cure. Oral Contraceptives (OC) or Birth Control Pills and breast cancer.

04:14
Oral Contraceptives (OC) or Birth Control Pills are known to have numerous side effects that are very well known to us, but recently medical professionals started to see more and more ER, PR-(neg) breast cancer (Estrogen Receptor, Progesterone Receptor) The reason for the increase of this type of Breast Cancer is unknown. Here is one possible contributing factor: oral contraceptives. I found few interesting articles on this topic: 1. "Long-term use of contemporary OCs and current use for ≥ 5 years was associated with an increased breast cancer risk among women ages 20 to 44. Risk may be greater among younger women and for ER(-) and triple-negative breast cancer, but these findings require confirmation." read it here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=24633144 2. “Results indicate that the oral contraceptive formulations used in recent decades increase breast cancer risk in African American women, with a greater effect for ER(-) than ER(+) cancer. Mechanisms to explain the adverse influence of oral contraceptive use on ER(-) breast cancer need to be elucidated.” Read it here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20647407 In this video i talked briefly about other contraceptive possibilities Stay healthy Doctor Veronica

Women Working: What’s the Pill Got to Do With It?

05:46
At the turn of the century, it was rare for a woman to get a college degree or join, and stay in, the workforce. One trailblazer was Katherine McCormick. She was the second woman ever to graduate from MIT, a suffragist, advocate for women’s education, and later philanthropist. McCormick was also a staunch supporter of birth control, going so far as to smuggle contraceptives into the United States at a time when they were illegal or highly regulated. In the 1950s, the birth control pill was extremely controversial. Funding for its development had been pulled. McCormick stepped in and, over time, contributed nearly $23 million (in today’s dollars) of her own money to research efforts. Her financial involvement was instrumental in achieving FDA approval and widespread acceptance of “the pill.” But what does the the pill have to do with female education or women working? For the very first time, women were in control over if and when they would have children. Since the mid-1960s, shortly after the pill was approved as a contraceptive in the United States, female education and labor force participation rates have skyrocketed. With the ability to control when they will have children, women are able to better plan for their academic and professional future. We may take it for granted today, but half a century ago, the pill changed the game for working women. Oral contraceptive use not linked to major birth defects

03:04
Read the full open access research: http://www.bmj.com/content/352/bmj.h6712 Oral contraceptive use just before or during pregnancy is not associated with an increased risk of major birth defects, suggest the findings of a study published in The BMJ this week. Oral contraceptives are a leading form of contraception worldwide. When used properly, these are over 99% effective. However, around 9% of women become pregnant in the first year of use because of missing a dose, taking the pill with certain other medications, or illnesses. When planning a pregnancy, most women stop using oral contraceptives, and usually become pregnant within a few months. Despite decades of research on the safety of oral contraceptive use, little is known about the association between these drugs that contain sex hormones, and major birth defects, especially among these women who become pregnant while taking the drug or after recently stopping use. So a team of US and Danish researchers carried out a large prospective observational study to examine the association between oral contraceptive use around the time of conception, and into pregnancy, with major birth defects. All live births, birth defects, and maternal medical conditions were analysed from several national Danish medical registries between 1997 and 2011. The final analyses included 880,694 liveborn infants, 2.5% of whom had a major birth defect—like an orofacial cleft or limb defect—within the first year of life Infants with birth defects with known causes, such as fetal alcohol syndrome, or chromosomal aberrations, were excluded. Recent oral contraceptive use less than three months before the pregnancy or use during early pregnancy was analysed based on prescription information from a national registry. In total, 68% of mothers used oral contraceptives, but stopped more than three months before pregnancy, and 21% never used oral contraceptives. Overall, 8% recently stopped using oral contraceptives within 0-3 months before pregnancy, and 1% used oral contraceptives beyond pregnancy—both these categories were analysed as exposed. Findings from the study revealed no increased risk of any major birth defect associated with oral contraceptive exposure. The prevalence of major birth defects, per 1000 births, was consistent across each group: 25.1 for never users, 25.0 for oral contraceptive use more than three months before pregnancy, 24.9 for oral contraceptive use within 0-3 months before pregnancy, and 24.8 for oral contraceptive use after pregnancy. Other risk factors for birth defects and those that increase the likelihood of contraceptive use were adjusted for. These factors included age at pregnancy, place of birth, level of education, household income, history of birth defects from previous pregnancies, smoking in pregnancy, and healthcare use such as prescription drug use and hospital admissions. This is an observational study so no definitive conclusions can be made about cause and effect.

What Women Need to Know About Blood Clots

01:18
http://www.dailyrx.com/newer-birth-control-pills-and-blood-clot-risk-linked Taking "the pill" has become a routine part of life for many women around the world. But that doesn't mean birth control pills are entirely without risk. A new study found that women who used newer types of birth control pills had a higher risk of blood clots. "About 9 percent of women of reproductive age worldwide use [birth control pills]," wrote lead study author Yana Vinogradova, research fellow in medical statistics at the University of Nottingham, UK, and colleagues. "This percentage rises to 18 percent of women in developed countries and 28 percent of women in the United Kingdom. Although [birth control pills] are generally effective in preventing pregnancy, they have measurable side effects such as venous thromboembolism (VTE)." VTE involves a blood clot in a deep vein — often in the leg — which can sometimes result in a clot that moves to the lungs. VTE can cause serious complications and death. Blood clots form when there is damage to the lining of a blood vessel. These clots often occur in the legs or the arms, and symptoms may include swelling, warmth, redness or pain. Vinogradova and team looked at risk of VTE among women who used both newer and older forms of birth control pills. These pills differed in the types of hormones used. The pill is considered a type of hormonal contraception. Birth control pills contain small amounts of man-made estrogen and progestin hormones, which work to inhibit the body's natural hormone cycles to prevent pregnancy. Research on the effects of other hormonal contraceptives, such as the patch or the vaginal ring, was not included in this study. Vinogradova and team looked at more than 10,562 women in the UK between the ages of 15 and 49 who experienced a first-time VTE between 2001 and 2013. They compared these women to more than 40,000 women of similar ages who did not experience VTE. These researchers found that women using older birth control pills — like those containing the hormones norethisterone (brand name Micronor) and norgestimate (Ortho Tri-Cyclen) — had about a 2.5 times increased risk of VTE compared to women who did not use any oral contraceptives.

Uterine Fibroids Treatment Symptoms and Causes

03:15
Uterine Fibroids Treatment, Symptoms and Causes - http://goo2.be/fibroidsfree/ By [http://EzineArticles.com/expert/Dr_Andrew_Napier/597863]Dr Andrew Napier Uterine fibroids are non cancerous tumors that affect a large number of women worldwide. They are one of the main reasons why women undergo hysterectomies. It can either grow in the uterus wall or on this wall. It is not necessarily for a uterine fibroid to develop alone, so clusters might appear. The size of the fibroids also differs from woman to woman and some of them are as small as a pea while others can reach larger dimensions. It is difficult even for doctors to predict if a fibroid is going to increase or reduce in size. Luckily, this fibroids only become cancerous in extremely rare case. The causes of uterine fibroids are not elucidated completely. It is believed that women who had fibroids in the family are also likely to develop them. Some races are also more predisposed than others. There might be a connection between uterine fibroids and the estrogen levels, so they might occur in women who take birth control pills. Overweight is a triggering factor, as well as early onset of menstruation or absence of any babies. Uterine fibroids usually occur in women in the reproductive period and are less probable to develop once the woman has already reached menopause. In some women uterine fibroids might have no symptoms at all. Others might experience symptoms that vary in severity and include massive bleeding during menstruation or irregular bleeding, abdominal pains, frequent urination or constipation (because of the pressure that the fibroids apply on other body organs) and even infertility. Uterine fibroids are usually discovered during medical examination. In case uterine fibroids have occurred closely to the menopause age or at a point where a woman doesn't need to conceive babies anymore and if there are not bothering symptoms, fibroids might not require treatment. They might disappear after menopause. However, in the rest of the cases the doctor needs to indicate the most appropriate treatment option. In young women without any symptoms, the fibroids are not surgically removed, but are carefully monitored in order to immediately notice if something goes wrong. Depending on the severity of the case, the doctor might recommend surgery. This can either be myomectomy, which implies that only the fibroid is removed from the uterus wall or a hysterectomy which implies uterus removal also. There are various methods of performing these surgical procedures and the doctor is probably going to suggest the one that is most appropriate in each case. A new study conducted at the University of Copenhagen found taking hormonal birth control could be associated with a higher risk for depression. The medical records of 1 million Danish women between the ages of 15 and 24 were analyzed by researchers over 14 years. 55 percent of the women in the study "were current or recent users of hormonal contraception." Researchers found that women using t a mix of estrogen and progestin were 23 percent more likely to be prescribed anti-depressants. Women on progestin-only pills were 34 percent more likely. Check out our new website http://www.rehealthify.com/ Rehealthify offers reliable, up-to-date health information, anytime, anywhere, for free. -- video script below -- Breast cancer affects one in eight women during their lives. Breast cancer kills more women in the United States than any cancer except lung cancer. No one knows why some women get breast cancer, but there are a number of risk factors. Risks that you cannot change include Age - the chance of getting breast cancer rises as a woman gets older Genes - there are two genes, BRCA1 and BRCA2, that greatly increase the risk. Women who have family members with breast or ovarian cancer may wish to be tested. Personal factors - beginning periods before age 12 or going through menopause after age 55 Other risks include being overweight, using hormone replacement therapy (also called menopausal hormone therapy), taking birth control pills, drinking alcohol, not having children or having your first child after age 35 or having dense breasts. Symptoms of breast cancer may include a lump in the breast, a change in size or shape of the breast or discharge from a nipple. Breast self-exam and mammography can help find breast cancer early when it is most treatable. Treatment may consist of radiation, lumpectomy, mastectomy, chemotherapy and hormone therapy. It is one of the most common types of cancer in women worldwide, but also one of the most preventable, thanks to early detection with Pap tests. The cervix has 2 major cell types: flat squamous cells lining the outer part, and column-shaped glandular cells covering the inside of the cervical canal. Both types can become cancerous but squamous cell carcinomas are MUCH more common. Cancer usually starts in the zone where the two cell types meet, known as the transformation zone. Virtually all cervical cancers are caused by human papillomaviruses, or HPVs. There are over a hundred different types of HPV, some of which pose HIGHER risks than others. About 70% of all cases are caused by just TWO types: HPV-16 and HPV-18. Two proteins produced by HPV, known as E6 and E7, INTERFERE with cell functions that normally PREVENT EXCESSIVE cell division. This causes the cells to grow in an UNcontrolled manner. HPV is sexually transmitted and is VERY common, but in most women, HPV infections resolve on their own and do NOT cause cancers. Factors that may INcrease the risk of PERSISTENT HPV infections include WEAKENED immune system, other sexually transmitted diseases and smoking. Chances of developing cervical cancer also increase with having many children and LONG-term use of birth control pills. Early-stage cervical cancer generally produces NO symptoms. Advanced-stage disease may cause ABnormal or IRregular vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, or unusual vaginal discharge. EARLY detection is the key to prevent cervical cancer. Cervical cancer screening may include pap tests ALONE, or in combination with HPV DNA tests. In a pap test, cells are scraped from the cervix and examined for PRE-cancerous changes, known as cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, or cervical DYSPLASIA. These morphological changes can range from mild to severe. If the results are ABnormal, the test is repeated again after 6 months or a year to MONITOR the condition. Additional diagnostic tests may also be performed. In most cases, MILD dysplasia resolves on its own and a follow-up pap test is all that is required to confirm. In a small number of cases, these ABnormal cells may develop into cancer, but they usually take YEARS to do so, which allows plenty of time for treatment when detected early. In the US, a pap test is recommended every 3 years, from the age of 21, or every 5 years if combined with an HPV test. Treatment options for cervical cancer include surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or a combination of these. Early-stage cervical cancer is typically treated with surgical removal of the uterus. This option is the most effective in preventing cancer from coming back and is usually preferred when patients do NOT need to maintain fertility.

Natural Solution for Vaginal Atrophy

13:02
https://www.lovelotion.com Millions of women suffer in silence on a topic that is rarely addressed. Love Alchemy, a business in Orange Park, FL, wants to draw attention to the unspoken challenges women face as estrogen levels decline. National statistics reflect that 85% of women over the age of 41 suffer from vaginal dryness as a direct result of estrogen levels falling. Sadly, age isn't the only factor. Most women don't know, there are a variety of medications and medical conditions that cause low estrogen levels. The most common is low dose estrogen birth control pills - which is a double whammy. Not only does it drive your estrogen levels low, it drives your progesterone levels high, which simulates a pregnancy - which could turn off desire, decreases testosterone, and also decrease your normal circulating estrogen level which is the leading cause of vaginal atrophy. It's no surprise when studies now show almost 4 out of every 10 pre-menopausal women as early as their 20's are affected by vaginal atrophy. Some of the symptoms of this include burning while peeing, slight bleeding after sexual intercourse, pain during sex, slight vaginal discharge and burning or itchiness inside the vagina. Unfortunately, research has also shown that the existing products on the market are unreliable. Dr. Weiss was an organic chemist before going to medical school, so while most people look at the ingredients on packaging and have no idea what they are looking at, Dr. Weiss says, "I not only can pronounce them, but I know what they can do to you." Water based lubricants are a popular product, for instance. However, as the skin absorbs them immediately, they actually evaporate too quickly to make a difference. Meanwhile, other lubricants are filled with a range of chemicals, which leave the vaginal canal even dryer than before. This increases the chance of contracting a sexually transmitted disease and of developing fungus. This prompted Dr. Eric Weiss and his wife Christine, a dietitian, to develop the Love Lotion, which is quickly becoming known as the best all natural personal lubricant for women. Dr. Weiss says, "I wanted to create a product that was both safe and effective. Together with my wife, we developed a completely natural lubricant that addresses the hormonal challenges that are common in women over 40." Dr. Weiss explained why he developed the natural personal lubricant: "My wife and I have enjoyed a happy, healthy sex life for many years. Unfortunately, Christine started suffering from dry vaginal walls. As a doctor, I wanted to solve this issue by coming up with a lubricant that was both effective and safe." Love Lotion was developed to address all of these issues, which is why it is quickly becoming known as the world's safest personal lubricant for vaginal dryness. Dr. Weiss explains: "Women are clearly doing harm to themselves by using the vast majority of what's out there on the shelves and following the advice of commercials or friends. If you can't pronounce it, you probably should not put it in or on your body." By the by, the motivation behind why hormonal anti-conception medication hypertension chance exists, is since these contraceptives contain progestins. Progestin is a sort if medicate that mirrors the movement of the hormone progesterone which actually happens in the female body. It is basic for progestin to marginally bring the circulatory strain up in most ladies who take hormonal anti-conception medication, and it is the reason for hypertension when it happens. The danger of anti-conception medication bringing on hypertension increments for a lady in light of the taking after variables: Age - As a lady ages (normally mid 35 and more seasoned), her odds of growing high blood Length of utilization - The more drawn out a lady uses the pill or fix, the more prominent the odds of high Prior condition - Women who have already experienced scenes of reliable hypertension, even just in the event that it was amid pregnancy, are at a more serious hazard. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI): How to reduce your risk of UTIs

06:51
Great tutorial by Dr. Rapp about UTI risk factors. Have you heard that birth control increases risk of UTIs? How about diaphragms? Sex? The internet is full of things proposed to cause UTI. Dr. Rapp discusses the science and research on these questions so you can understand what's true, what's not, and in between. Also, check out part II: UTI prevention, which discusses home treatments to help prevent UTIs in the first place. Urinary tract infections generally occur when bacteria of the skin near the rectum or vagina spread to the bladder. From avoiding tight underwear to urinating frequently, the Internet is full of proposed ways to decrease your risk for urinary tract infection. Here’s a guide to understanding what’s true and what’s not (and in between). General Concepts 1. Your general health is extremely important. Like many types of illness, the strength of your immune system and your overall health is crucial to avoiding infection. Things that weaken your immune system(such as diabetes, obesity, stress, and other chronic illness) make you more susceptible to UTIs. Maintaining good general health is one of the most important things you can do. 2. Some risks you cannot change. Research has demonstrated that infections start when bacteria anchor on to receptors on cells that line the urinary tract and begin to multiply. And, some people are just born with more of these receptors. Age is also a significant risk factor for infection because our immune system weakens as we get older. 3. Keep your urinary tract active. In general, it is a good idea to keep your urinary tract flushed with water. So make sure you drink enough water and make enough trips to the bathroom. This can help rid the urinary tract of bacteria before it becomes an infection. What’s True (what’s been proven). Here is a list of risk factors that have been shown to be associated with increased risk for UTI in high-quality research studies. 1. Sexual activity. Sexual activity appears to be one of the most notable risk factors for UTI, especially in younger women. Although sexual intercourse is the highest risk activity, oral sex and masturbation also increase risk. 2. Use of diaphragm. 3. Urination after sex. This actually decreases risk of UTI. What’s not true (based on available research). Because poor hygiene and excessive moisture promote bacterial growth in general, many related items have been proposed as risk factors for UTI. This is a list of several risks that have been shown in study NOT to increase risk of UTI. However, just because these things have not been scientifically shown to increase risk does not mean they should be forgotten. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT POINT. Good hygiene is an important part of health maintenance! 1. Urination before sex 2. Use of vaginal deodorants 3. Washing type (bath versus shower) 4. Number of baths or showers per day 5. Bubble baths 6. Use of tampons 7. Use of spermicide 8. Use of birth control (oral contraceptive pills) Is there something that you have heard causes UTIs that is not on this list? Contact us at info@hfitness.com and we will look into it!

Birth Control for Men: Vasalgel

01:45
The only form of contraception available for men is the condom. But now, scientists are in the process of coming up with a bunch of new ways in which men can take part a more active in making sure sex doesn't result in a baby. The one that's closest to hitting the market is RISUG, or Reversible Inhibition of Sperm Under Guidance. It's also known as Vasalgel. Vasalgel is a gel-like polymer that can be injected into the vas deferens. When it is injected it forms a plug, or a filter. And when sperm pass through this plug, they die. Not only does this one-time procedure last at least 15 years, it is very easily reversible. You can simply flush out the Vasalgel plug with another injection at any point of time, and the plug would simply dissolve. It takes a few months to regain full fertility, but that's a small price to pay for birth control that doesn't mess up your hormones. This procedure is in advanced clinical trials in India. Some men have been using it for more than 15 years. It'll probably on the Indian market by 2013. As for the rest of the world, they can expect it on the market by 2015.

How to get Periods Immediately in one day - Periods Problem home remedies

03:38
How to get Periods Immediately Within A Day periods problem home remedies how to get periods immediately in one day, Menstruation is a physiological phenomenon that women of reproductive age go through. The menstrual cycle takes nearly 28 to32 days and sometimes they may delay or sometimes they occur early. This is due to the hormones in the body. Irregular periods can also be triggered by polycystic ovarian syndrome and also other causes. This condition of irregular periods is called oligomenorrhea. This can be caused by various factors like weight loss, lifestyle and medical condition. It can also lead to conditions like tension and unwanted stress. Inducing Periods The best way to regulate a period is by taking birth control pills. These pills regulate the level of progesterone and oestrogen in the body. This is suitable for women under 35 but it can improve problems such as acne. Weight loss is also a reason for the delay in the menstrual cycle. Overweight can produce more of oestrogen hormones which stop ovulation. But losing too much weight can also cause lack of mensuration or amenorrhea. Before trying to induce periods, take a pregnancy test. If the results are negative then you can accelerate the period with the following. how to make your period come faster

Vaginal Dryness: What Causes It

01:17
The most common cause of vulvavaginal dryness is low estrogen. It isn't just menopause. Women can have low Estrogen at various stages of their life. They can be breast feeding, they could have just had a baby where all the hormones have gone way down after being pregnant, they can be on anti-breast cancer medications that are anti-estrogens. They can be on Chemotherapy. They could have been exposed to pelvic radiation for pelvic cancers. Certain medications can cause dryness -- even nonspecific antihistamines. There are some birth control pills that are only Progesterone pills or Progesterone birth control and they don't have estrogen and I've noticed over time, that women are on these a long time, they know that they have decreased lubrication and suffer with some vaginal dryness. There are even lifestyle factors that come into play that can aggravate dryness: Smoking, excess alcohol, lack of sexual activity and even obesity can impact your vulvavaginal area. I encourage women to speak to their doctors. This is not a condition that women should suffer in silence. There are terrific remedies out there to improve your overall quality of life.

Don't Ignore These Early Symptoms of Breast Cancer

22:38
Anyone can develop this breast cancer, and it is still not clear what causes it. However, certain factors put you at a higher risk. Women who get annual mammography screenings are much less likely to die from breast cancer than those who do not. Although it is more common among women, men can also get breast cancer. Here are some important warning signs of breast cancer. 01:02 Lump in the Breast or Armpit. 02:05 Red or Swollen Breasts. 03:09 Nipple Discharge. 04:07 Pain in the Breast or Chest Area. 05:06 Changes in Breast Appearance. 06:03 Nipples Become Sensitive. 07:02 Itching on the Breasts. 08:01 Pain in the Upper Back, Shoulder and Neck. Feeling a lump in your breast or armpit may be the first warning sign of breast cancer. Such lumps are often hard and painless, though some may be painful. A lump under the armpit may feel hard or thick and dense as compared with the armpit on the other side. Do not panic when you notice a lump, as it is not always cancerous. A few common causes of breast lumps are hormonal changes in the body, a breast infection and fat necrosis (damaged tissue). It is important to have your doctor check out any new or suspicious lumps on your breasts to determine the cause. When breasts hurt, most women think it is due to premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and when breasts feel hot or appear red, they usually suspect an infection. Swollen breasts with soreness or redness might even be a sign of breast cancer. A tumor located underneath a breast can push on tissues, making the breast swollen and sore. In some cases, the swelling is more prominent under the arm or under the collarbone. If you have this symptom for more than a week, be sure to see a doctor. Discharge from your nipple without any squeezing or touching of the breast may make any women wonder. Other than breast milk, any kind of nipple discharge can be a warning sign of breast cancer. When a tumor starts in the milk ducts just under or around the nipple, it may cause irritation and infection, leading to discharge. If you notice any nipple discharge, particularly clear or bloody, get it checked by your doctor. Such discharge can also be due to an infection or other condition that needs treatment. If you have an ache, sharp stab or pain in the breast or chest area, it is not a good sign. Sharp pain that comes and goes or a mild electric sensation that you may experience from one breast to another may be a sign of breast cancer. A tumor located directly behind the nipple or in one of the milk ducts often causes pain and discomfort in the breast. Though not necessarily a warning sign of cancer, pain in the breast or chest area can be due to other serious health issues that may need treatment. At times, breast pain can be due to hormonal changes in the body, birth control pills, poorly fitting bras and stress. Any change in the shape or size of your breasts is a matter of concern. You also need to keep a close eye on dimpling, shrinkage and recent asymmetry of the breasts. Deep tissue growth in the breasts may affect their shape or size, leading to physical changes. As these changes are more about appearance than feel, you might become aware of such changes while looking at yourself in a mirror. The "Fair Use" Provisions outlined in Title 17, Chapter 01 Article 107 of the US Copyright Law states the following: Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, INCLUDING SUCH USE BY REPRODUCTION IN COPIES or phonorecords or BY ANY OTHER MEANS specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is NOT an infringement of copyright. In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include: (1) the PURPOSE and CHARACTER of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for NON-PROFIT educational purposes; (2) the NATURE of the copyrighted work; (3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and (4) THE EFFECT OF THE USE UPON THE POTENTIAL MARKET FOR OR VALUE OF THE COPYRIGHTED WORK. The fact that a work is unpublished shall not itself bar a finding of fair use if such finding is made upon consideration of all the above factors.
