The quest for ripped 6 pack abs has been going on since the age of cave man (maybe not quite that long but it's be a while). I take the Flex Belt for a test drive to see if this thing can give you the ripped six pack you have always wanted or if this is just another fitness scam that will only reduce your wallet. Can this simple black belly blasting belt give you the chiseled six pack of your dreams or is it a scam? Aaron Marino of alpha m. was contacted by Flex Belt to give a review. He has seen ab toning super products for years. He has never tried to them because he's chalked them up to BS. This is Alpha's chance to take it for a test drive to see if his assumptions are correct or if he's been missing out. There were no strings attached! About EMS Systems There have been a ton EMS systems (Electric Muscle Stimulator) ranging from therapy to rehab situations. An electrode is connected to the muscle to give it juice and cause it to contract. Over the years, the systems got in trouble with the FDA: the products didn't stimulate a *hot turd* and were being sold as a weight loss, side reducing wonder product. The Flex Belt got FDA clearance for ab toning, firming, and strengthening. How it works Essentially, you have an adjustable belt, electrodes, replaceable pads, and a battery pack. After putting it on, set the program (1 -10) and increase the intensity levels (1 -150). Alpha started feeling it on program 5 / intensity 30. He starts getting ballsy from there-- he cranks it up. Contractions last 2 seconds with relaxation for 5 seconds for 30 minutes. He used it for 1 week and has been really sore (mainly his obliques). Does the belt work? The muscle engages and contracts causing toning and firming. Your abs will strengthened and toned. To get to see your abs, however, you need a healthy diet with cardio to get rid of your layer of fat.It's not a shortcut; it's something to add. It would be great to supplement to an ab workout in the gym. Flex Belt is a great product, and he's glad Flex Belt contacted him!

And the truth is, they're moving you backwards instead of forwards when it comes to improving the shape of your body. Now these drinks are calorie free, which technically should help people lose weight and prevent sugar-related diseases… 1:10 - However, the evidence for these beverages having any use is completely nonexistent. Which brings me to my first terrible aftermath from drinking diet sodas, side effect #4: Metabolic syndrome. 1:29 - There is a lot of evidence supporting the fact that regularly drinking diet sodas can actually cause what researchers call “Metabolic syndrome”... Which is a series of risk factors that can lead to diabetes, stroke and in extreme cases, heart attacks. 1:50 - Now this condition is defined as having or experiencing at least 3 of the following symptoms - excessive belly fat or clinical obesity, high blood pressure, high fasting glucose (those with sugar-packed diets), high triglycerides and low amounts of your body’s good cholesterol. Drinking “calorie free” beverages instead of sugary ones does not appear to be helpful against the metabolic syndrome. 2:03 - In fact, looking at the research, sugar is really not the only culprit that is affecting your health like the mainstream media is making it appear… And just because diet sodas are “sugar free”, it doesn’t mean that they are healthy… 2:21 - In a study published in the journal Circulation in 2008, which followed 9,514 people for 9 years, drinking artificially sweetened beverages was associated with a 34% greater risk of developing the metabolic syndrome. 2:50 - Now onto side effect #3: There is an association between diet soda and depression. 3:30 - Nutrition and dietary experts are relating these findings to once again, the myriad of chemicals and synthetic ingredients found within diet drinks. 4:00 - Side effect #2: Drinking diet soda increases your risk for diabetes. 4:50 - Now, as everyone knows, the past decade of health surveys have revealed massive increases in populations develops diabetes… This disease is highly associated with obesity and sugar consumption, so most believe that replacing sugary beverages with calorie-free drinks would help… 5:17 - But according to the reports - it’s quite the opposite. A study of 6,814 individuals aged 45-85 years, daily consumption of diet soda was associated with a 67% increased risk of type II diabetes. In another French study, women were studied for 14 years and it was found that women who consumed the most diet drinks had a 121% greater risk of developing type II diabetes. 5:46 - I hate to be the barer of bad news - especially because the main reason people switch to diet drinks is to cut back on calories in order to lose weight… However, the numbers don’t lie people. 6:15 - And now, the final side effect. Drinking diet soda can actually make you fat. 6:38 - There are even many short-term trials that show that artificial sweeteners can increase appetite and food intake in the short-term compared to sugar. 6:50 - So the take away here guys is to not to choose between diet and regular soda - it’s to forego both. Instead, try drinking unsweetened beverages like coffee, tea, mineral water or 100 percent fruit juice… Or better yet, stick to plain, old water! Thomas DeLauer here today with SixPackAbs.com to get right down to the science, as always, of what things you need to be taking in that will not break your fast and that need to be eaten during the eating window. Let's get right to it: 0:20 - What CAN you consume while you're intermittent fasting? - 0:20 #1 - 0:40 - Apple Cider Vinegar. The acetic acid found in apple cider vinegar helps with mineral uptake in the body. That's crucial because while in a fasted state your body technically is being mineral deprived. 1:35 - Acetic acid helps your body absorb as many nutrients and minerals as it can. 1:45 - Polyphenols act as a prebiotic-type substance, increasing the amoung of healthy bacteria in the gut, such as Lactobacilius and Bifidobacteria. #2 - 2:07 - Sea Salt Water Do NOT drink sea water - rather, add sea salt to your water throughout the day. 2:25 - Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to a 1 gallon jug of drinking water. 2:34 - Sodium/Potassium Ion Exchange & Sodium/Potassium ATPase 3:04 - You can also add a small amount of cream of tartar 3:20 - How to tell if you're potassium deficient: 3:26 - Craming up during a workout = potassium deficiency; cramping up after a workout = magnesium deficinecy #3 - 3:41 - Green Tea Tea will not break a fast. 3:51 - Epigfallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) & Cholecystokinin (CKK). When adenosine is blocked the amount of other neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine actually increases, leading to enhanced firing of neurons. 5:08 - Coffee increases the number of receptors for Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). 5:50 - Despite increasing receptors, caffine also inhibits the release of GABA, which contributes to the feeling of alertness. 5:56 - What NOT to drink during a fast - 5:56 6:18 - Creamers and sugars will break your fast, so no creamers, sugar, or sweeteners in your coffee. 6:23 - BCAA's or branched-chain amino acid mixes will break a fast. 6:45 - Avoid sugar alcohols - e.g. diet sodas containing truvia It's essential that you stick within these rules to keep in a fasted state to truely get all the benefits from I.F. G’Day everyone! The Morning After Pill - preventing unintended pregnancies since 1974. Cheers, Morning after pill! But strangely enough.... not everyone is singing the praises of the Morning after pill. So, who are these people who don’t approve of an over the counter drug… that the FDA already approved of? Well it’s these guys. You can probably all guess why. My personal favorites are “Concerned Women for America’, whose mandate it is to bring biblical values to public policy. In public interviews, the Concerned Women for America have said that the women’s role should be in the family, and that feminism would ruin America. Groups like these stand against abortion, sex education, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem cell research, needle exchange programs, secular education, and baby ponies! Okay, they probably don’t have an opinion on baby ponies, but I just wanted to put them in there to break up my rant. Look at them, they are so cute! Now, back to the Concerned Women for America: Look, I support your first amendment rights as Americans to stand for, whatever you want to stand for. What I dont stand for are lies. The Concerned Women for America, regularly trash talk the Morning After Pill because they claim it “blurs the lines” between contraception and abortion. But that’s just bullsh*t. They’re totally different things! *Abortion* is when an egg and a sperm get together and they make a unique thing. In science we call it a zygote, some idiots call it a baby, whatever. But Plan B works by preventing or delaying the release of an egg, so that it never, ever meets a sperm. If there’s no egg, there’s nothing for a sperm to attach to, and conception an never happen. So if there’s no conception there can’t be an abortion! I know this might be a tough concept to wrap your head around - especially if you’ve only ever had abstinence only sex education, so you probably don’t quite understand where babies come from. Secondly, the Concerned Women for America have also released a white paper questioning the safety of the Morning after pill. The truth is that 'Plan B' is super *safe!* That’s why you can buy it OVER THE COUNTER. It’s also way safer for a women’s health and fertility than carrying a baby! In fact, the World Health Organization lists NO MEDICAL CONDITIONS where the risk of contraception is greater than the risk of pregnancy. So = morning after pill = safe. Having a bun in the oven = not as safe. Look - Concerned Women for America. I get it - you’re concerned. But I’m not, because I understand how sexual reproduction works. And as a concerned scientist, I consider it my duty to inform the public of the safety of emergency contraceptives. And! Because I know you are all Christian, let me leave you with this quote from John 8:32: “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”. But what do you think about emergency contraceptives - we read all the comments, so leave yours in the comments below if if you prefer to send your hate mail by Twitter, it’s @Jayde Lovell. -- SIDE NOTE -- BUT - and I can't stress this enough - the safest way to avoid pregnancy is to use contraception before or during sex. In this video, I show you an ab workout that you can do to burn fat and get a six pack at the same time. An ab workout bearing my name must be athletic in nature. This absolutely fits that bill. The first thing you will notice is that you perform all of the exercises in this six pack workout on your feet. Any attempt to train athletically will almost always have you standing rather than laying on your back. Next, you will be training one side at a time to reveal any imbalances in your core strength but to also challenge your body as it is often challenged in function. Grabbing hold of either a kettlebell or a dumbbell, start by getting into a split stance with one leg in front of the other. From here, swing the kettlebell behind your body as you resist the temptation to over rotate (which is caused by the momentum of the bell). From here, contract your core and obtain control of the kettlebell and reverse the direction of its path. You want to now drive the bell in the opposite direction using the strength of your abs. Once again, you are going to control the ascent of the kettlebell this time by contracting the core and preventing it from lifting too high or far. Advanced level trainees will perform this exercise for 25 reps on each side before moving onto the next portion of this workout, the kettlebell swings. Intermediate and beginner ab workout users will perform 15 and 10 reps respectively to each side. The swing is the next exercise up in this ab workout circuit. This one is a great exercise for helping you to burn calories and get your heart rate up. By the time this workout is over you will have performed upwards of 250 swings, so you will have had a great impact on your ability to burn fat and get that six pack to show. Advanced trainees will perform 50 swings while intermediate will do 30 and beginners will do 20. Return to performing the single sided swings for each side of your core, hitting your abs and obliques hard. This time when you move the bell to the middle, you will perform goblet squats in place of the swings. Once again, when done at a brisk steady pace you will elicit a conditioning benefit and burn more ab revealing fat. So, does a man have to make all of the decisions when in a relationship with a woman? Does he need to do all the work, so his woman can just sit back and enjoy the ride? Not at all. To be the man in a relationship with a woman, all you need to do is provide general leadership, rather than making all the decisions and doing all of the work. She can make decisions to and as the leader of the relationship, you can give your approval of those decisions or at times, when you don’t agree, you can decide whether or not to be flexible and compromise by going along with her decision. Watch the video for examples. Here’s another example of a man and a woman making decisions in a relationship: You, as the man, want to go on a holiday or vacation, so you suggest that you and her go to Hawaii, Greece or Melbourne, Australia. She then agrees and you and her can then plan the vacation together, she can plan it or you can plan it. It really doesn’t matter because you are providing the general leadership for the relationship (i.e. you are suggesting going on a holiday and then either planning it, or delegating the responsibility to her to take care of). Another option is to ask her where she wants to go on holiday and if you agree with her choice, you can then give your approval of that option. In other words, you are providing the general leadership in the relationship by asking for options and approving or disapproving, or if you want to, going along with her choice because you are okay with it. There are many different approaches you can take. However, what you need to know as a man, is that being the man in a relationship with a woman doesn’t mean that you have to make all the decisions, or force her to go along with your decisions. Instead, you both work together and contribute to the relationship. The only difference between you and her, is that you are the leader who provides the general direction for the relationship and your life together. Being the leader doesn’t mean bossing her around, not considering her opinion or anything like that. It just means that you are steering the ship or helping to guide the way to a better relationship and life together as a couple, rather than handing over all of that responsibility to her. It also reduces glycemic and insulin responses to foods such as a starchy meal by delaying gastric emptying. (1) Polyphenols: Apple cider Vinegar also contains polyphenols – Polyphenols act as a prebiotic-type substance, meaning that they increase the amount of healthy bacteria in the gut, such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria strains. They also inhibit growth of potentially pathogenic bacteria. Catechin – a polyphenol – inhibits the proliferation of Clostridium histolyticum, a pathogenic bacteria (2) Cream of Tartar: Cream of tartar, also called potassium hydrogen tartrate, is an acidic natural byproduct of winemaking. This will help maintain energy during your fast. Lime Juice: Limes contain flavonoid antioxidants known as flavonol glycosides. These antioxidants have been found to help protect against deadly bacteria such as cholera. Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry saw that Liminoids, one of the components of limes induced levels of glutathione s - transferase which is what essentially helps bind to free radicals, aiding in the detoxification process. (4) Monk Fruit: The compounds that give it a sweet flavor (called mogrosides) are actually antioxidants. Mogrosides are be able to protect tissues in the body from the damage of free radicals. They're going to tell you that your thyroid is going to be destroyed. They're going to tell you that your hormones are going to be completely out of whack, and that you're never going to recover. Well, it's not quite the truth. In this video, I want to give you the A to Z breakdown of what happens to the female body during a fast, during intermittent fasting in particular. How often should a women fast? What can they expect? What's happening with their hormones and what's happening with their reproductive system? In this video, I'm going to take you through A to Z what goes on, starting with the starvation and the hunger hormones, leading into your reproductive hormones, then leading into your thyroid. Let's dive right in, and men, this video's for you, too, because it's going to help describe exactly what's going on in your body, as well. Okay, here's the thing. When it comes down to starvation hormones ... we're talking leptin, ghrelin, insulin, things like that that we have to be paying attention to when it comes down to hunger and satiation ... women are much more sensitive to them. It's nothing bad, nothing wrong with them. It's simply a protective mechanism. It's not the fact that the thyroid's shutting down. It's the fact that the female body is recognizing that there's no food coming in, so they don't want to be producing eggs. They don't want to be ovulating. It's natural. Why would a female body want to produce eggs to stimulate potential reproduction if they're not eating, if they're starving? That's where this whole thing starts. It all has to do with leptin, ghrelin, and insulin. But it goes much more than that. We're going to talk about what's happening with the brain and with the gonads now. Let's talk about GNRH. GNRH is a particular thing that is secreted by the hypothalamus in both males and females, and it has to do with what's called the hypothalamic-pituitary gonadal axis. I know lots of guys that are proud of the HPTA, thinking that it only has to do with testosterone and their male bodies. Oh, no. That's not the case. The HPTA axis, that entire process, is men and women. And here's how it works. Your brain has an area called the hypothalamus. This hypothalamus ends up secreting something known as GNRH. This GNRH tells the pituitary gland to produce luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone. What these hormones end up doing is triggering the production of sperm and testosterone in men and producing ovulation and triggering progesterone and estrogen in women. They both do the same thing, just with a different end result. We still have the same catalyst, the same hormones. Now what ends up happening is how women go through this process compared to men. Now that we know GNRH and we understand the HPTA has to do with men and women, we can talk about the precursor to the GNRH, which is where the problem really starts, and that's something known as kisspeptin. Where the problem occurs with kisspeptin is just with people not knowing what's really going on. Most of the beef in the fasting community and most of the beef with women fasting in general all has to do with kisspeptin. . Two days later, the Loboc Children's Choir sang, "The Prayer," with the rubble of the hundred year old Loboc Church as their backdrop. Their performance moved so many people here and abroad. Then, tragedy struck again. On November 8, Typhoon Yolanda, the most powerful tropical cyclone of the year hit East Samar, Samar and Leyte. Thousands died. Millions were left hungry, desperate, and homeless. Relief efforts from the Philippines and the rest of the world are currently helping the victims survive and find temporary homes. But the bigger challenge is how to help all these people get back to their normal lives. This is where we took inspiration from the Loboc Children's Choir's performance. These children may be from Bohol, but their innocent voices represent not just their home province but also earthquake-damaged Cebu, war-stricken Zamboanga, and typhoon-devastated Leyte, Samar, and Iloilo -- all of whom are praying for a miracle to allow them to rebuild their lives. And so we asked the help of various Filipino artists to lend their voices, to represent our country, and show the world that the Philippines has one voice, one prayer -- that we work together to help our countrymen rebuild their lives brick by brick. The resulting song will be used to raise funds through downloads. The proceeds will go to the helpPH campaign, a project by the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (PDRF). It is a non-profit organization made up of major companies from the private sector and leading NGOs. PDRF, organized in October 2009 after Typhoons Ondoy, Pepeng, and Frank to tap resources for reconstruction efforts during emergencies brought about by calamities, is one of the three identified institutional conduits approved by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to facilitate cooperation and coordination between the Philippine government and the private sector in formulating and implementing reconstruction strategies. Its goal for Cebu, Bohol, Zamboanga and now the areas affected by Typhoon Yolanda is long-term solutions and programs that will bring businesses and jobs back to these areas. They are also planning to look into better designs for houses more suited for a country that gets hit by typhoons and earthquakes. They are focusing on rebuilding the communities which includes: immediate help, provide housing, education by rebuilding school houses, providing economic incentives, and livelihood opportunities. Proline: Helps the body break down proteins and helps improve skin elasticity and smoothness. It is often recommended for its benefits to the heart, including keeping arteries from stiffening. Glycine: Necessary for DNA and RNA synthesis and digestive health. MCT Study: One study found that consuming MCT oils helped reduce body fat and triglycerides more than omega 6 vegetable oils. After eight weeks, the experiment showed the MCT oil group lost more weight, body fat, and subcutaneous fat, all while experiencing a 15 percent drop in triglycerides (7) Breaking a fast for muscle building while staying lean (higher glycemic carbs) Using the GI of carbs is a technique most commonly used to regulate blood glucose and insulin concentrations to optimize athletic performance/physique building. You should break your fast with high GI carbs but avoid combining these with fatty foods - fat slows down transit through the stomach, so eating fat post fast may slow the digestion and absorption of carbs.
