Buying a 1986 to 1995 Mercedes Part 6: Importance of Power Steering Fluid Flush

03:24
This is one of the most neglected maintenance items I have seen - even on so called "dealer maintained" cars. Many owners are not even aware there is a filter inside the power steering pump. Lack of service here results in pre-mature steering box wear which results in steering wheel "play" or sloppy response. Complete service kit with synthetic fluid and instructions is available at mercedessource.com. Why Replace Shocks Part 4: How Bad Shock Absorbers Affect Tire Wear

02:28
Shock absorbers are another item that normally wears out in the 90,000 to 110,000 mile range. A worn out shock does more than just make the care ride rough. Shocks serve another purpose that Kent will explain in this video and he will show a very good example of what an happen when shock absorbers totally fail. This is a nuts and bolts series and will not get into advanced electronics nor the cars computer systems. That may come in a future series. In this multi-part video series, Kent covers some of the most common service and maintenance you can do on these cars yourself. Once again, if you are going to own one and you want a happy and long lasting "marriage" you had better learn how to do some of the maintenance yourself. The series begins will some of the simple things you can do if you are just starting out working on your own Benz and will move on to some of the more difficult intermediate D.I.Y. jobs. Introduction to the Single Tank Vegetable Oil Fuel Conversion on Old Mercedes Diesels

09:38
For more info and related products click the following link: https://mercedessource.com/problems/svo-biodiesel/converting-an-older-mercedes-diesel-run-vegetable-oil-svo-using-the - Mercedes diesel engines produced from the 1950s up to the late 1990's are well suited to run on straight vegetable oil (SVO). In fact most models built up into the early 1990's are so well suited that they are one of the few passenger car diesel engines that can be reliably operated on a single fuel tank conversion. That means the vegetable oil goes in the factory tank with no need for a back-up diesel fuel tank. High quality waste vegetable oil (WVO) can be collected (mostly free!) from restaurants, settled, stored, filtered and poured right into the fuel tank. Kent will explain how he operates his own 300TD wagon on this system and the steps he has to take when the weather gets cold. This applies to all Mercedes 190D, 200D, 220D, 240D, 300D, 300CD, 300TD, 300SD, 300SDL, 350SD, 350SDL, and 300D 2.5. by Kent Bergsma

To learn what I mean watch the video.
